Okay, one more hit. That was all she needed to land. Just one more, and she can take a much-needed break after this blasted fight. She lunged forward, stabbing her sword right into the wolf's chest, and then it went poof into a cloud of red dust. She sighed as she slumped to the ground and just sat there. She looked at the loot that she got, and then quickly closed the window. She didn't want to take the chance of something attacking her while she was distracted.

Instead, she just sat on the ground, her legs crossed, and she just relaxed after that fight. She didn't know why, but it almost felt like things were trying to purposely kill her, and she didn't exactly like that. But, it was the game, and she hated it, but she wasn't about to just give up. Nope, she was going to do what she had to do.

Dynasty: HP: 20 (11+10)/20 | EN: 1 (0+1)/2 | DMG: 3 | THORNS: 9 | LD: 3 | CD: 1

After a few minutes of sitting, she finally pushed herself back to her feet and she started to walk once more. She didn't know why, but it felt like all of these level one monsters were just too hard to beat sometimes. Which was really odd for a game like this. Oh well, it was something that she was just going to have to get used to and overcome. That really shouldn't be too hard really, and she was up for the challenge.

She wouldn't be a true gamer if she wasn't after all. She needed to think on an actual strategy for this apparently. She stopped walking for a few moments and looked at the different skills that there were. She started to make a mental note of the ones that she wanted to grab, while at the same time, making sure she knew the limitations and the requirements. There were quite a few things that would be helpful to her, especially with what it was that she was doing weapon wise.

After standing there for a bit looking at all the different skills and mods, she started to get a basic understanding of what it was that she was going to do. The next thing, was just getting better gear. That might be a little harder, she might just need to talk to a blacksmith about what might be best for what she wants to do. But she knew that with one of her skills that she was planning on, she couldn't have evasion, but that was fine, she didn't mind taking the damage if it meant being able to protect someone.

She closed out the skills window for now and continued to walk again. She was starting to feel a little better about her game plan, now that she was actually thinking about one. Furthermore, she looked around, keeping a hand on her on the hilt of her weapon as she walked. This was because, by this point, she knew that anything could jump out at her at any moment. She was starting to get used to it really.

Speaking of something jumping out at her, there was a boar just ahead. She had a feeling that something like this was going to happen, so she unsheathed her weapon. She tried to be quiet, but failed miserably at that, so when the boar turned and looked at her, she just charged it. But, alas, the boar was faster than Dynasty, and moved out of the way just in time to not get hit.

Dynasty couldn't say that she had the same amount of luck though. She felt the boar headbutt her in the side, but, while it barely hurt her, it hurt the boar a lot more. She watched the boar's health drop to a singular health point, and she smiled at that. This thorns enhancement was amazing, and she honestly didn't want to drop it. Perhaps she could convince a blacksmith to make her a new shield with the cap thorns enhancement.

So she missed the first hit, that wasn't too bad. She steadied herself from the headbutt, and looked at the boar once more. Only, she couldn't find the damned thing. She had no clue where the boar had gone, until she saw it in front of a tree. So, she charged over to the boar, only to run into the tree instead, her sword staying there. She sighed lightly before looking at the boar just in time to throw her shield in front of it.

She took some damage from the hit still, but the boar perished into a cloud of red as it died. She just shook her head at herself before closing the loot window and yanking her sword from the tree that it had been stabbed into. "Sorry tree, I didn't mean to." She didn't know exactly why she was apologizing to the tree, but she was at this point. Perhaps she was just losing it from just walking in circles.

With that fight over with, and her weapon sheathed, she started to walk once more. This was starting to feel like a long and tedious affair that almost wasn't worth the hassle of getting a familiar. But, at the same time, she wanted to have that companion. She knew that she was going to be helping others, but she just didn't know how often that would be. She didn't know if she was always going to be with another person leveling or traveling.

So instead, she wanted to have that one companion that was always going to be with her, so that she was able to talk to someone, even if it was an AI pet. That was still better than nothing really, and that was the part that she was banking on. The thought that she wanted to believe in. That she was going to find the perfect friend out of a pet, that wasn't going to just leave her alone.

Now came the question of, where the hell did that thought come from? She didn't know, and that kind of scared her. She didn't think of herself as alone or anything, she thought of herself as someone who was always around others to be able to help. Or was that just something that she told herself to make herself feel better about being alone in this game? She didn't want the answer to that really, so she just happily pushed that to the side.

She sighed deeply, clearing her mind of the thoughts that she didn't want in there. There should have been no reason for them to have shown up anyways, so that shouldn't be a problem to just... banish them from her mind. Of course, per usual, everything was easier said than done. Dynasty smiled as her thoughts turned back to the happier things, the goals that she had in mind, as she walked around the first floors different fields and forests.

The walk was starting to get a little boring, so she decided to just try and do another thing while she walked, try and find some materials. She didn't know what she was going to use them for just yet, but she had a feeling that they were going to be useful in the future. Whether it be as a payment for something, or perhaps her profession might need them. She didn't know just yet, but she was more than willing to find out when that time did come.

Right now though, she was finding absolutely nothing while she walked the forest. She didn't even see any kind of sign of familiar tracks and all of that other stuff. But, at least right now, the walk was scenic and calm. That was a good thing in her mind, and it was helping to keep her calm. Calm and serene was the best thing for being able to protect others, at least in her mind.

Something glittered on the ground as she walked, and it caused her to stop in her tracks. She bent down, keeping a single hand on the hilt of her sword still, and picked up the piece of material that she found. This would be useful later, and she knew it, so she was just going to make sure that she didn't lose it. Dynasty stood back up, and she started to walk again. At least she knew one thing, whether she found a familiar or not today, she wasn't exactly leaving empty-handed.

She looked around, noticing that she was outside the forest. She kind of liked that she wasn't in the forest, mainly because forests were a bit creepy to her. So, standing outside the forest was the best option for her, and she liked it. As she walked, she wondered how long it took others to do this quest. Did it vary from person to person, or was it because she was looking for a fox?

Familiar Search is Successful!

Wait, were those fox tracks? She stopped and looked at the ground, unable to really tell. She studied foxes, yes, but seeing their tracks was much different in person than in a book or something. She was too busy looking at the tracks though to notice that there was a bulky silver fox behind her. At least, not until she heard a bark, followed by a scream. She stood up and spun around, only to notice that it was the exact kind of fox that she had been hoping to find.

She didn't move though, she wanted to see what the fox was going to do first. She just stood there, waiting, watching, studying. She didn't know if the fox was going to want to run away from her, or if the fox was going to attack her. Everything and anything could happen at this point, but she knew one thing, if it didn't run or attack, she was going to attempt to tame it.

Taming attempt #1 is Successful!

After a few minutes of a stare down between the pair of them, she sat down on the ground slowly, still judging the reaction from the fox. After a few more minutes of just sitting there, she watched as the fox mimicked her, sitting down as well. She slowly pulled some familiar food from her pocket, and she put it down in front of herself. She waited and watched. Soon, the fox was walking over slowly, and sniffed the food, eating it slowly.

It was at this time that she pulled more of the food from her pocket and held it out to the fox. Only, the fox didn't want it just from her hand. Instead, the fox shrunk to the size of a fox kit and climbed into her lap, gingerly eating the treat from her hand that way. "Okay, this is kind of adorable. I take if that you want to stay with me?" The answer was a small bark before the fox rubbed its head against her now empty hand.

That was how she sat for a little while, just sitting on the ground, petting the small head of the silver fox that was apparently now her familiar. She liked this quest now. Sure, it might have taken a bit, but she had herself a familiar. That was the whole point of the adventure today, right? Maybe later she could find some way to have the fox hide a little more, so that it didn't need to be carried everywhere. That would be a thought for another day.

After a while, she knew that she was going to need to move again, so she just picked the little fox up and carried it in her hand as she started to walk. She needed to think of how to train this little guy, but that was the problem. She wanted to be able to soak up all the damage, but what if she wasn't strong enough to hit anything. She didn't care about the damage, she would handle just taking all the attacks that were passed to her.

It was probably a good thing that she had started to walk awhile ago, because she heard some very distant howls. That was just a sign that she missed a wolf pack, and she was happy about missing them. But, she didn't miss what the wolves had been hunting, a lone boar. She looked at the boar, and put the silver fox into her pocket where it was going to be safe. That was the moment that she unsheathed her sword, and made her move.

Only, the fox didn't want to stay in her pocket, and jumped out, causing Dynasty to freak out just a bit. She stopped moving to see that the fox had grown back to its normal size before sitting out of the way. Well, that was nice of the fox, but it messed her up horribly on getting a hit on the boar. As she turned back to look at the boar, she moved when she saw it charging her, and she watched as it just ran past her at full speed.

Dynasty was getting really tired of missing in fights today, so the moment that she was free to, she charged the boar, and quickly slashed it with her sword. She watched a small amount of its health vanish, before she was too late on moving. She got hit in return, but it hurt a lot less for her than it had for the boar, because it was soon dead after that hit. She sighed lightly and looked over at the fox that was just staring at her.

She walked over to it, sheathing her sword, before sitting down in front of the fox. She just stared at him for a few moments, before scratching him behind the ear. "You're a little protector, aren't you?" There was a bark that came from the fox before it leapt into her lap, instantly shrinking in size once more. "An adorable little protector." That was when she knew exactly how she was going to train this fox.

With the fox in her lap, she just sat there, scratching its head lightly as she thought. Yeah, this fox would make a great protector, so that was how she was going to train him. But first, she needed to get him back to town and finish this quest officially. But, at the same time as that, she was having too much fun just sitting here and cuddling the little guy. Dynasty thought about how much fun her siblings would have with this game, and she was suddenly happy that they didn't join her.

She would be too scared to let them out of her sight, and that was a thought that many probably wouldn't want to see come from her.  All because that meant that she would be playing favorites on whom she kept alive, and that wouldn't be fair or kind to the others who were stuck in this death game either.

Right, it was time to think of a name for this little guy. Instantly, her mind went to a single name, and she loved it right away. "I'm going to name you Asimi little guy. It fits you perfectly, doesn't it?" She listened to the happy bark that came from the fox, and that made Dynasty smile. "That settles that then. Come on Asimi, it's time to get going, don't you think?" She watched as the fox wiggled and moved to her pocket, and that made Dynasty chuckle.

"If you feel safe there, then that's where you shall be darlin'." She stood up then, and made sure that everything was settled and set, just in case she got into another fight. She never knew what to expect on this floor anymore. But she knew one thing, she needed to go and turn in the familiar food and call this quest done.

As she walked, she gently pulled Asimi from her pocket as she kept walking. She looked at the familiar that was now sleeping. She wanted to try and figure out another way to have Asimi not be in the way when it came down to it. Dynasty was thinking something along a bracelet or something like that. It would be a good thing to do in her mind, because that meant that she wasn't going to have to worry about Asimi being in the way, or accidentally getting hurt.

Even if the fox was going to be trained to be a protector like Dynasty, she didn't want to take the chance of the familiar being harmed in any kind of way, that would be a horrible thing in her mind really. She's only had the familiar for maybe... ten minutes, and she was already in love with the little fox. That was the sign that let her know that she couldn't let anything happen to the little guy.

Dynasty was happy that Asimi was not only comfortable enough, but trusted her enough to just fall asleep as they walked. It was a pleasant feeling really, to know that something trusted her so fully already in this game. She had a feeling that she should have done this earlier, but she hadn't. But, that is alright, it was never too late to start helping others more by getting stronger.

Since the fox was sleeping, Dynasty gently put him back into her pocket, he was going to be safer there after all. The Town of Beginnings was starting to arrive in her view once more, and she found that to be a good thing. She did avoid the places where she had noticed wolves or boars laying in wait, mainly because she didn't want to get into another fight right now. She just wanted to get back to the town and relax with Asimi.

With town in her sights, she was happy to know that she was almost there. She wanted to be back in the safe zone, so that she can sit and relax. She wanted to be able to figure out what it was that Asimi really liked, because that would make training so much easier. To find that certain treat that the fox liked, so that she could be able to entice him to learn the skills faster than he possibly would without a treat like that.

It shouldn't be too hard to find a treat that the fox would like. She was certain that she could probably just use some jerky or something. Hell, she'd happily learn some new tricks for some jerky. Jerky was good, and now that she was thinking about jerky, she really wanted some jerky. She laughed lightly, finding it funny how things happened like that for her. The power of suggestion.

Finally, back in the town. She sighed as she let go of the hilt of her sword. She looked around, trying to find the old gypsy so that she could return the familiar food to her, and thank her for the help on finding Asimi. But, the more that Dynasty looked around, the more she had a feeling that she wasn't going to find that old gypsy.

"Ah, I see that you've found your familiar." Dynasty jumped, which woke up Asimi, causing the fox to scream in agitation at being woken up. "It's okay Asimi." She looked at the old gypsy and smiled again, "Yes, this is Asimi, and he was asleep." "Ah, I'm sorry for waking him. I'll take my familiar food back though, don't forget to train him." Dynasty nodded and handed the old lady the food back. "Thank you, Asimi will be the perfect little protector for me." With that, Dynasty turned and headed to the tavern, because she really wanted some jerky.
