[F1-SP] Shield Bearer <<Training your Friend>>

Recommended Posts

She sighed lightly as she just ran a hand over the bark. After a few minutes of just staring at the tree, she shook her head and backed away from it. She didn't need to depress herself by wishing that she was home with her family. She had done messed up already by joining the game, she didn't need to make it worse by actually dying. Of course, she didn't want to think that if she died here she'd die in real life still. That was the very thought that had kept her in the safe zone helping players there. She didn't want to take the chance. But, in the time that they've been in the game, not much progress has really been done on clearing the floors. In fact, it seems to have gotten slower, or at least, that was how her mind was making it feel. Whether it was true, she couldn't say since she wasn't a frontliner. She hadn't been brave enough to join them, but now, well now she was going to get there. She was determined to.

Dynasty attempts to train Asimi and is unsuccessful!

Successful Training Attempts 1/3

ID: 185456
CD: 4

Just as she started to walk to leave the forest, she heard something behind her. She turned, just in time to see Asimi climb up the tree and the boar to run right into Dynasty. She fell back and landed on her butt, and looked at the fox that had managed to climb a tree. "Really Asimi? We had that one good training moment, and now it's gone?" If the familiar could talk, then it would tell her something about how this boar came running out of nowhere and fast too. But, as Dynasty rose back to her feet, she looked for the boar, but she didn't see it. That was odd, had it been running away from something? Either way, she walked over to the fox in the tree and gently took him off the tree and put the small fox into her pocket. "You know, if you want to keep me safe, you can't be scared of monsters like that. I just need your help to kill them."

She had hoped that the boar was gone, but no, the boar wasn't gone. She had spotted it once more as she tried to leave the area, just staring at her from behind one of the redwoods that she was looking past. She unsheathed her sword and charged the boar first, wanting to hit it. But, at the last moment, the boar jumped out of the way of her attack, and this threw her off balance a little as her sword art hit the tree in front of her. Moments later, she felt a headbutt right into her left hip, and she winced. Thankfully, she didn't take a lot of damage, this boar was weak, and that was noticed very quickly the moment that her thorns enhancement took all but one health point of the boar's life. At least she didn't need to worry about this fight taking forever, because one hit would kill it, whether she hit it or her enhancement did.

Right, just one hit, that was the only thing that she needed to kill this boar. She started to charge the sword art that she wanted, but, per usual, as she went to use it, she missed. She didn't even know what happened to make her miss this time. Furthermore, she sighed at her failure, and she had a feeling that this was going to be an ongoing thing as long as she kept fighting without some accuracy right now. She was getting ready to dodge whatever the boar was going to throw at her, only to be pushed to the side by a ghost. She only thought it was a ghost because she watched the boar disappear in a puff of red pixels. She shook her head and looked at Asimi, the fox was just sleeping away once more. That made Dynasty chuckle, just because the fox was able to basically fall asleep where ever he wanted.

She picked up Asimi, and even though he was sleeping, he still seemed to shrink so that she could him into her pocket. That was a nice little thing there at least. She was going to let him sleep right now, she'd wake him up when she sees the next monster to try and train him with. Of course, that was only if she managed to find one. They seemed to be getting harder to find, unless of course, she was there to just miss every attack. She sighed, shaking her head lightly, as she walked. She noticed that the redwoods soon changed to a different type of tree. First it was an oak tree, a large and thick based oak tree. Just by looking at how large the tree, she was guessing that this was supposed to be an old tree. But right next to it, seemed to be a pine tree. That made it look a little out of place, but it was still interesting to see. Mainly because the pine tree was being towered over by the oak tree. Interesting.

After a few minutes of staring at the two oddly placed trees, she started to move once more. She was starting to become curious on what other trees that she might find in this curious looking forest. The trees didn't seem to changed from the oak and pine trees until she walked for almost an hour. Even in that amount of time, she saw no sign of something to train Asimi with. That was kind of depressing when one was to think about it. But, it is what it is, right? As she walked, the first tree that she noticed was a cedar tree. The thinness of the cedars was a change from the thickness of the oak trees, but it was still something that prompted her to wonder about this forest. Was it changing to keep her entertained? Or was it programmed to do that? It wasn't until she reached some maple trees did she stop thinking about these. Instead, she heard something, and Asimi was out of her pocket and growling.

Behind her was a very angry fox. Not a silver one like Asimi, so she knew that it wasn't her familiar that she had made mad. That didn't seem to matter though, because the fox was lunging at Dynasty. "Asimi, if you want to help me, now is the chance. Protect me!" The silver fox didn't seem to need any other command to go with that plea. The moment that she closed her eyes, expecting the foe to hit her, but the hit never came. Instead, she opened her eyes to see that Asimi had jumped in front of her and took the attack himself. The angered fox seemed to calm down and scampered off, leaving Dynasty smiling at her familiar. "Good job, Asimi. Here, a treat as promised." She pulled a piece of jerky from her pocket, and handed it to Asimi. The fox barked happily and took the treat, happy that he seemed to be making Dynasty proud.

She let Asimi eat his treat, not wanting to rush the fox that had just taken a hit for her. Once Asimi was starting to roam, she clicked her tongue to the fox, and together they started to walk once more. She had a feeling that they were starting to get to the forests end, but it wasn't an exact science on how she knew. Perhaps it was because she ran into a willow tree? She looked at the falling greenery that was on the tree, and she studied it. She knew that the tree was called a Willow, but there was still a part of her that thought that it should be called a rain tree. Perhaps that was because the greenery on the tree reminded her of rainfall? Even the very bright green leaves of the beech tree that was next to the willow tree didn't seem to distract Dynasty from just staring at the fake rainfall from the old looking tree. It gave the tree character, and it was something that seemed to be soothing to her at the same time.

It was starting to feel like the longer that she walked in the direction that she was going, that she was walking through the thinner and less leaf filled trees. That was alright by her, because it showed her that it was still daytime, so she didn't need to worry about running into anything that was going to be able to kill her instantly. Of course, only if those rumors were true, she never wanted to stay out past nightfall to find out really. The trees started to change once more, turning from the beech trees into those of elm trees. These looked a little more dead than normal, but that was also how an elm tree looked most of the time. Even the birch trees that came next looked to be just as barren, but perhaps that was to help those who got lost in the forest know where exactly they were, or know what time it was.

Trees upon trees. That was all that she was seeing at this point. She was starting to question whether there was an actual exit to get out of this bloody forest or not. But the more that she walked, the more that she was starting to doubt that. She really just wanted to go home right now. She didn't seem to care that Asimi wasn't fully trained yet. Furthermore, she was getting hungry, and she needed to save the last piece of jerky for the fox for when he did succeed at protecting her again. She looked at the tree next to her, only to groan when she saw that there were two different ones. One being a rowan tree, while the other seemed to be a juniper tree. She was actually starting to get sick and tired of seeing trees now, and that was a worrisome thought. Food, that was all that seemed to be on her mind now. Some nice, warm ramen.

"Oh my god, is there no end to this forest?" Asimi looked at her, confused a little but just kept walking forward. She opted to just follow him at this point. It wasn't like she could get anymore stuck in a forest that didn't want to let her out of its grasp after all. But, it was the rotating tree designs that were starting to throw her for a loop. She was starting to think that she was seeing the same trees as before, at least, until she noticed a Sycamore and spruce tree. These were the last two that were added into the mix, and it was starting to just give her a headache. She just sighed, grumbling something under her breath, as she continued to walk. She was honestly hoping to never have to see another tree in her life, but, that hope could only start once she was out of this blasted forest.

That was when she saw it, the exit of the forest. Her way out, but it was being blocked by something. Was it? She couldn't really see. She just knew that as she walked closer, she could tell that it was the form of a wolf. She groaned, getting ready to take the attack that was already coming at her, except for the fact that she saw a fast and silver form jump in front of her, taking the hit. That was it, that was Asimi's final training attempt that he needed to learn his skill. The wolf seemed to know this as well, for it tucked tail and ran deeper into the forest. That worked for her. Without a word, she gave Asimi the final piece of jerky and picked the fox, not caring that he didn't shrink. The moment that she was holding onto her, she ran out of the forest, and didn't look back.

Now came the best part of the day, heading home. Asimi was trained, and now that his jerky was done, he had shrunk so that he was easier to carry. Only, instead of her holding him, he was digging his claws into her shoulder strap to hold onto her shoulder. That was alright by Dynasty, she just kept up a nice brisk pace as she walked back to the Town of Beginnings. It was getting closer and closer, and just as the sun vanished from the sky, she crossed into the safe zone of the town. There, she took a moment to rest, and pulled Asimi off of her shoulder. "Food, how does that sound? And rest? Lots and lots of rest." The fox barked before snuggling into her arms as she started to walk to the inn, ready to order just about anything for food, and then sleep the night away.
