Which, as I say it aloud, just sounds odd.” Soft blue eyes darted around the interior as Zenshu took in his surroundings. The exterior’s lavish colours had made him halt, wondering if he could even afford the services here. The interior had only embellished the feeling that he was entering a place well out of his league – and that made him nervous. “They – bistro – said that I could get some items identified here. I got these off a couple of boars, and I’m hoping that they can replace what I currently have – or well, give me a bit of a boost! I’ve only just started really getting into things, and while I’m quite content with what I do have, more is always better. Or, well, better is always better. I know there’s a saying about better being better, but I can’t quite remember how it goes.” He paused in thought for the briefest of seconds, before continuing along his line of thought. “So I hope you can help me out. NIGHT 0 Posted May 8, 2022 #63 Share Posted May 8, 2022 small talk forgone for silence. the equipment traded through the window (iris' request, when the appraiser herself was for once and finally behind her desk) was greeted with quiet pings and flicks of opening windows, pressed buttons. as soon as the last items vanish from her inventory, night's gaze fell to the glass table. upon the fluffy decor were a few pieces of gear, style unrecognizable. other clients. who to be recognizable, of note? perhaps if it had been anyone she knew, it was reason enough to visit the broker for some information. nonetheless, a quick hum and a nod after iris' dismissal, and she drifted off towards the exit, keeping her steps quiet as they'd usually been. NIGHT 0 Posted January 2, 2023 #69 Share Posted January 2, 2023 (edited) if iris wasn't here, then there wasn't a need to call out for her arrival on bistro's notice. but there was a stranger -- one of the store supervisors, she thought, but wasn't certain, and wasn't close enough in distance to check. so night simply stared at the brown-haired woman, lazing on a couch, head buried in a magazine or another, the title unfamiliar to the former. and night took no hesitation in memorizing its appearance just in case she needed to know more. her quiet approach was rudely interrupted by the drop of the equipment she'd brought over. stunned, the woman reading glanced up, remarked a causal, "oh, didn't see you come in there," and then returned to her pages. so much for being silent, night supposed.
