[PP-F1] Dark Halls, That Echo (BID)

Renewed and better prepared, a soft glow of a small stone in his hands permeate his surroundings. The faint smell of mildew and the small chattering echoes that ring back from somewhere deeper within. The slithering masses that he'd faced before would be truly disheartened at an attempt against him again. Further, ready for their intervention, he was looking to explore this place much more thoroughly this time around. Each footfall echoes off the stonework, as a shift of a red robe bleeds past bar after bar. A painted tapestry akin to a prison, irons in both gates and chains that dangled from the ceiling. Ever so softly shifting with a non-existent breeze, rattling against it. A pause and a stare up into the things, curious as what little light forced them into spheres of white. Nothing, but the wind, seemed to cause them to shift.

A few more steps, the halls were as long as they were dark. As if torn straight from the pages of a prescribed horror novel, soft patters of dripping liquid finding puddles of the stuff. The clattering of his heels, pungent in the silence. He was alone here, and hopefully not for the worst. Mentally creating a map with every passage, he blinds down, using his blade to illuminate and provide more light like a torch. Like a tomb, littered with cobwebs and rats. This place doesn't seem to have a lot of activity. Raidou thought to himself, using an open hand to disturb a bit of the caked on dust across a flat and yet slightly damp surface.

Minutes threaten to turn to hours, with nothing but the rhythm of his footsteps to keep him company. Into a much rather chamber, riddled with old and rotten woodwork. It appeared like a guard's mess hall, bits of rotten food still left upon tin platters. Small piles of refuse or something worse lingered in corners. "You can come out, you're not going to be able to sneak up on me." Raidou remarks into the darkness, as the gold fueled blade lights just ever so slightly brighter. He spoke to the sound that he heard above him, his perceptions were hard to avoid.

A sickening snap, a twist of arms that held a frame like a spider to the ceiling. A hallowed bellow, a hiss toward the warm presence of blood that lingered in this undead sanctuary. Moreover, it didn't enjoy its discovery so quickly, this creature thrived on the element of surprise, and it had been robbed of such. Dislatching and colliding with the floor with no care to brace the fall. It twists its parts back into shape, each followed with snaps and breaks as joints reset. A twist of its head like a canine, bloody red eyes peer back with small black gloss before they flare like coals. A heavy inhale that reveals human teeth in a slightly off kilter jaw. Pale white skin tinged blue from chill, and the attire. A guard? Akin to those that took residence in the town of beginnings above.

They had been left abandoned and had become these things. Left to rot for an eternity. Folding at the waist and using the momentum to leap with sudden speed, as more of these carcasses begin to rain down from above. A flash of Raidou's steel cold clocks the creature at the waist, sending it spiraling away as quick as it came. The swordsman follows through as the first slams ass over tea kettle into one of the tables, sending pieces of wood in a spray from the impact. The rest follow suit, the wide yellow arc drawn through the air in an instant. Parts left behind, bits of them that flail about with electric pulses. The coursing energy of a boss felled still riddled his blade even still. It left an opportunity for a follow up.

Raidou's feet slide along the floor, leaving a small trail of gunk being smeared beneath his toe. A wide stance as he rips the point up, placing the edge horizontally along his abdomen. Another flare of gold light paints his face in a slight shadow, catching on the lenses on the bridge of his nose. A soft and practiced exhale, beneath those glasses an expressionless calm.

His jaw clenches, the rumbling bones begin to take shape with more of those sickly twists. Incorrectly folded appendage and torsos being righted as they howled to destroy the warmth of life within their coven. That sound played upon the walls like a symphony. Raidou seemed unfazed, unconcerned, and as if he was ready to die. The patters of quick feet, as the jailors rush him down like feral hounds past any loose debris, sending it scattering in their frenzy. A high pitch whine of the blade still held in his hands, as he stood stalwart against a tide of undead cretins closed the gap. A lunge with hands like claws, clambering toward flesh and finding steel and a shower of sparks. Each blow rings out and is amplified by the amphitheater that was the stage they fought.

Attacks flow one after another, being redirected with relative ease, like a mother batting way a child's hand. There was a simplicity in the waltz that Raidou was sharing with these things, as they assail left and right trying to force his position to change. The only real movement being his robe and his blade, playing the part of shield rather unopposed. "You cannot seem to exert enough to make me waver." Raidou quipped as nothing more than an acknowledgement of the situation. They circled like hounds, sizing him up and toying with the notion of another snap in his direction. The gravity pouring into his blade by the second had finally reached capacity. "My turn."

Lightning leaps down the length of the edge from the hilt, and within a moment the room is washed in static and yellow light that was blinding. Bits of smoldering husks fling from the wide swipe, detonating before they can find something to crash into. A spin of Auric Sunlight back to its scabbard, looking down to the soft glow in his left hand. He'd press further inward, trying to map and decipher what it was this place truly was before someone else haphazardly wandered into it. He was prepared, but there was no assurance that someone else would be.

The iron keep seemed to mirror itself, as everything appeared to be more of the same. It was almost perplexing that the floor plan seemed to repeat, and every step has Raidou checking his coordinates within the confines. It assured him he was in fresh territory, and yet the place looked copied from a hall before. "Unnecessarily large, curious in the construction. Just how many prisoners was this supposed to house?" the wanderer asked of the walls as he slowed his travel, scanning them for some distinguishing feature that proved it dissimilar. His mind raced to what sort could hold up in this place, just beneath the gaze of the general public. What was worse was the thought of another incident like Skalaugh. What if they breached and entered into the first floor town.

The result could be catastrophic. Enemies in here were higher in statistics, drastically past what was native to the floor. It was if as design to be much more difficult to handle, but was also a flag too hard to ignore. His footsteps were the only real sound, and the smell of musk and age the only real presence. Else the place rang back desolate, devoid of anything like an abandoned city. Not a single soul. Eyeing one of the cages that ran the stretch of the walk he was on, shows a scrawling tan leather strewn upon the floor. A single rat scampering out of sight once noticed, a wooden bowl taking its place in the corner. No body, nothing that alluded to one, either.

The black creature he had startled finds its way into the main section, before its skin begins to peel open revealing cables and oozing brackish brown liquid as it screams out in agony. Something had hid within it, or was its true form uncertain. More join its side, mixing into amorphous blobs of teeth and cords. A finger to his brow adjusts lenses as he watches with intrigue. "Interesting." the phrase comes off almost dismissive, as he inspects the amalgamation, eager to understand further.

Once their transformation is complete, the things instantly vault and lunge for the red clad male. What they find purchase on? The grinding of bodies as they rake down the length of the hall, being tossed with serious force. The soft clatter of his heels and a vibrant burning golden steel off to one side, they jerk and twitch searching for the strength to stand and oppose him. "Not quite, but an honest attempt none the less." Raidou remarks as he comes to a halt. Spinning the blade up with a metallic clank as it becomes stable. "Come then, lets see what you can do."

The wanderer was dead serious, he needed them to push themselves to the brink. He needed to study and know what it was they were able to do, and that would only happen should the AI feel desperate. They screech and scamper, twisting lines playing arms clambering and latching to walls. Sucking noises as they adhere to the dark brown brick, wrap around bars and use them like a wench to peel themselves up. The slight jerking continued, as these manifested horrors were still riddled with FTK's presence. Winding back as the first releases, bars and fires those cables like bullets, which find purchase around Raidou's edge. "I've seen this trick before." He remarks, peeling the grip down and twisting his shoulder beneath it, the metal on metal against a concealed gauntlet under his robe. His feet shuffle in a dragging circle. A tear and a lunge sees the thing dragged toward him with serious trajectory. The line connecting them goes lax, the tension broken.

"You can do better." Raidou remarks as his weapon engulfs, burning like a torch in his grasp and leaving a screaming in its wake. Static builds upon it, causing his hair to stand on end. His knees bend. Rocketing forward at a break neck pace, ripping is blade through the mass with little resistance, he ends up on the other side of them. Movement slithers and they twist, seconds later the thunderous boom strikes as the damage catches up. The chain detonation of the creatures follows suit, sending pseudo magical shrapnel out in a spray. "I suppose you couldn't. Good to know." Raidou remarks, removing a black book from his pocket and writing a few words on the page.

Plucking his blade and returning it to its sheathe, his feet begin to move once more.

Stepping through the gunk that oozed out of these things, the brownish yellow mixture that still clung to the floor with a slosh. The glowstone still holding a soft glow in one hand, the blade one of a different hue in his right. They stood out in the corridor, given the lighting. As he pushed on, the halls seemed to take on a more fleshy style texture. The ground felt moist and soft like a tongue, some strange growth making appear like a mouth. It seems that the Iron keep held all sorts of monstrosities that hadn't been seen elsewhere. At least not yet. A sonar like pulse from Raidou sends back a clearer image to his minimap, skills still proving ever useful. A smattering of old equipment left upon the floor, and with it no body.

Raidou's eyes narrow at the prospect. The only thing that left items, and no body where players. Someone had come down here and failed to escape. It alludes to a grim prospect, if they were prepared for an escape then whatever it was had halted that expeditious retreat. Kneeling low and peeling through the pile of armor and weapons, a couple low value potions. A teleport crystal? They had the means of getting out of here and yet expired within its confines. It was worrying. Leaving the remains, like a gravestone, it would be the only thing that would prove their existence and Raidou couldn't take them like a vulture.

A soft cackle, one barely audible, followed by a sticky smacking pop. Wet humanoid frames escape the floor as if from pods. Raidou grits his teeth, there was vengeance to extract. "I will make you pay for what you've done." Raidou remarked callously, in an uncharacteristic fashion. Something was bothering him, as his weapon flared in gold light. Pink and dripping, like an exposed bit of tissue as if these were humans turned inside out. They sported rows of teeth that look like ribs, interlocking over near featureless faces. Absolute monsters by any right, and yet Raidou seemed unfazed.

The weapon burns hot, as Raidou dumps more and more energy into it. Like a wave of destruction, his form blinds through the lot of what was and still manifesting. A spray of data is seen spiraling out from this arc of power from a swordsman. The flash burns away revealing some floor beneath this writhing mass of flesh and tissue, the creatures scream out in agony that's cut short. Brandishing Auric Sunlight with a wave, discharging the lingering energy as the hammer falls. The blazing trail across the floor echoes with the falling edge, creating a sudden solar like flare behind him. His cloak flaps aggressively in the sudden explosion. Ash that takes to fractures of star stuff, glistening softly like snow in rays of the sun before returning to the cardinal.

"Penance, for the life lost." Raidou remarks, whipping the blade off to his right, spinning its point and sliding it behind his right shoulder to an awaiting scabbard. A deep breath, with soot still finding its way free from the energy. Soft clattering, leaving this place behind, hoping that in his travel he finds no more remains of people that had fallen here. Winding halls still held to turns and bends, like a labyrinth determined to make him lose his way. But Raidou was studious, practiced and had been through numerous of places such as these. It had its work cut out for it. A mental map, composed with a minimap being unobscured with each pulse of searching guiding his way. This was quite akin to Hoya's maze, albeit with no sky lingering above. It appeared as though great care had been to make every corridor appear similar, and yet the creatures contained here left small imprints that disrupted that mirroring. Into another much larger room, Raidou shifts the glowstone ripe in his palm around to obtain a better look.

Numerous tables, rounded and decayed. Old wood that seemed were threatening to buckle, chains held to the floor suggest they were meant for prisoners. A mess hall. The swordsman began to scan the perimeter of the place, looking any word or ledgers, something that would yield to what or who may have been contained within. But one slip of paper, held in a small stool and table off to the far right side, held beneath a small tankard of iron. Lifting it and shaking off the mildew that had built from it being used as a coaster for the cup. His eyes begin to scan the page feverishly, dancing across the page as he consumed the information. Placing it down, and an open glance across the entirety of it. "Elves?" Raidou quipped, curiously, the names upon it suggested that it was probably destined to house those of the Underdark. It suggested an odd history, as if the past denizens of the Town of Beginnings may have held a feud with the residents of Floor 23.

More questions than answers. Did the dark elves of Kalanaes once reside within the walls of floor 1, and some racial bias or traitors send them seeking alternate shelter? His inquiry and conjecture is intercepted rather quickly, the rattling of chains as darkened skin and hairless things clamber from beneath tables. Looking to him, a sickly and skinny looking thing holding a small rat in jagged teeth. It was hungry. "Wait, I have food." Raidou remarks, attempting to stem the folly that was about to occur. It murmurs in some dialect he cannot understand, and more begin to raise from nooks and crannies around the place. "I was hoping that it would work." the swordsman comments, reaching for his hilt, as their advances still seemed so desperate and hostile. To these aged things, he was a meal, and they couldn't understand a word he was saying. It was kill or be killed.

Feral barks as they discuss, sizing up the human that mimicked the ones that put them here. Moreover, watching an arm move to a weapon for self defense. Hunched backs become further bent as they rush him down, finding their way within his reach. A sudden tear of the weapon from its scabbard, a slide of his heel as his left shoulder twists into a twirl. The blade falls low before ripped in a horizontal swing toward the floor. A crash and a bolt of lightning, tempest, creating an earth shattering roar of released energy. Like a nova, a ring of the stuff jumps and discharges across the floor in a wave, knocking all his aggressors off their feet in the blast. Tables brittle are tossed to pieces, bits of them splattering as bodies are thrown through them with ease.

As the now lowering HP bars dwindle to empty, Raidou cannot help but speak aloud. "A pity, I would have much rather returned you home. But I am reticent to believe you know what that is anymore. I am sorry for what befell you here." Adjusting the lenses on the bridge of his nose as they explode in data, like glass they were laid to rest. "Rest easier, find peace." He turns on his heel, heading deeper and deeper into the belly of the beast that was Black Iron Dungeon.

Each step echoes off the walls, bouncing back as the only audio. Eerie in its own right, as the light given off from him and him alone was all that sight would allow. Cold and damp, devoid of anything like a vacuum. Anything within this place would surely hear and see him coming, but he wasn't one to slink about, so it was expected. Rounding another corner to his immediate right, a sway of a red robe following his movements.

The smell of salt comes next, playing a bit in the mold. Finding a location with an open doorway, Raidou looks on in the dim lighting. A few rusted and decayed pots and pans sit untouched upon burners and ovens. Cabinets hang limply and off kilter on the walls above, sinks filled with blackish masses that quiver softly under tapping bits of moisture that bleed from tarnished faucets. A kitchen, no less. Waving the stone that provided light about, seeing that signature white and black tile underfoot. A question of age, as he looked toward the wash basin. "How long as this been unused?" Raidou remarked, removing a vial from his pocket, scooping a bit of the black stuff from inside. He'd look to alchemy for an answer. The more he understood, the easier it would be to prepare for what this place had or was to become. Restoring the cork into the lip, sees what he disturbed begin to grow. "Living?"

Silent and yet still forming a rather large blob, as bits of it pour over the side of the sink. In lumps of material that slap as they hit the tile, a bit wet. Out of respect, Raidou brandishes his blade. He wasn't sure if this was living in the sense of hostility, but wouldn't allow the possibility without resistance. The flash of light as sword arts begin to charge, draining more of the nomad's respective energy into it. Auric Sunlight begins to fill this ancient cookery with yellow color, becoming hot like a sun. A lunge back and a slide of his feet apart, waiting to strike should he need to. Holding clearly out of interest, waiting to lash out should he need to do so. Else, he'd wait eagerly to learn more of what this was exactly.

It barrels toward him in a wave of black moss, fuzzy and attempting to wrap itself around its would be red clad victim. Raidou rebuttals with a vibrant flash, like a flash bang in a shot glass. Bits of the stuff explode out in all directions, splattering against walls and the ceiling alike. It would seem that it was just as hungry as anything else within here, and the nomad was a snack too delectable to ignore. The winding down of his steel as he stood in a ring left behind from the blast, pots and pans still rolling along the floor as bits of the thing rained down from being adhered to every platform imaginable.

"Everything is out to attack me here." Raidou remarked as he lifted his left hand, looking at the corked vial in it. Inside the tiny hair of black mold bounced against the glass like a goldfish. Pressing down the cap a bit extra for good measure with his thumb, taking a bit of cloth and sliding it over the opening. He cups the fabric and uses a bit of cord to tie it to the bottle, a bit of added measure to keep it contained. It was still a good specimen for study, as long as it remained inside. One of the cabinets fall from the wall, finding the floor rather abruptly with a crash. Curiosity mixed with temptation, He hesitates. "Best I leave it alone, who knows what might jump out at me." The wanderer speaks, adverting a gaze that slightly wanted to investigate it further. Raising a heel and stepping over the pile of gunk left behind, a mess no less. A few more steps to clear it, stopping one of the rolling utensils with his toes. To allow his hearing to pick up on anything else that may be making a move to see the commotion.

Back through the forking passages, that bend and wind all the same in a network of branching passages that were akin to veins. The entire infrastructure seemed planned to confuse someone moving through it. It begged the question if mobs could even find their respective ways throughout the keep. Each was only about 5 to 7 ft in width, and given that none had notably distinguishable features beyond some remnants of what was left by creatures. Perhaps they were leaving these markers on purpose, with purpose. Kneeling low and looking carefully at some of what was left behind, for some symbolism or care to create legibility. And yet it seemed absent, and try as he might, Raidou couldn't pluck free any meaning behind it all.

Clapping his hands together kicks free some lingering dust from scanning the wall free in a small cloud, and the low rumble he can feel through the bottom of his feet. Something was coming, and he perks up, placing his back to the wall. Barreling down the corridor is a suit of armor, vaguely similar to what he had fought before. Slightly murky and faded metal adorning its back. A grinding as Raidou rips his weapon free, dumping what little stamina he had left to surcharge the edge with power. It turns and falls to pieces, floating and revealing there was not one speck of actual body in this living construct of equipment. The parts slam where he stood as he shifts and ducks out of the way, catching a charging gauntlet with his sword in a swipe past. Quick movement of his boots, sliding and righting himself against swirling pieces held aloft in the air. An eerie green glow bleeding from between the sections of armor. Akin to the witch on floor 21's magic.

A flare of power ripe in the steel still clutched in a black gloved hand, A vibrant and explosive yellow building in a rather small corridor. A wave of the thing sees it find purchase rather abruptly against an awaiting section of metal. A bolt of static leaps down the exposed bits, causing them to steam and rattle beneath the method of impact. Clattering to the floor with the respective magic dispersed quickly. "Destroyed" Raidou remarks eyeing the thing, using the toe of his boot to shift one of the pieces. He was checking for signs of life left behind, and it seemed as though it wasn't getting back up any time soon. The nomad clutches a bit of the remaining metal, a shard of the thing, and resigns to placing into his inventory. Another specimen to study, more pieces of a much larger puzzle.

A rake of his heel against the cobbled stone that comprised the corridor, his gaze advances down both ways he could head. A perk of his ears for anything else that may be heading his way, when his vision catches his lingering stamina pool. It seemed as though he needed a breather. Moving for one of the cells, and shifting his weight with a bit of careful maneuvering, he slides it open. It rattles in small ringing as it works across rusted tracks, and finding his way inside, Raidou folds his legs. Sitting on the leather style bedroll that held the center of the cell, he saw from the perspective of one that would have been trapped here. He was looking from the shoes of a prisoner. Soft tapping of moisture as it dribbled down from above, the slight shifts in shadows as vermin dart just beyond one's field of vision. The silence was defining, and the cold numbing.

Relaxed [1/2] OOC HP/EN Regen

It was riddling, the soft tapping of droplets from some condensation on the ceiling. Each small pounding reverberating for eons and shattered the silence, a glance to his inventory showed his gear was still holding up fine. To his sleeve, Raidou begins to dust some of the viscus mess that had taken root in past conflicts. "Stranger still, it seems so empty when your not in motion." he spoke, and the room seemed to mimic him. Squinting and picking up some of those feral looking things still gnawing away at bedding and scraps in the cell adjacent to where he had taken up residence for a moment. On edge at the thought that they could very well be more of the horrors that morphed from such slender frames before.

To the vial in his pocket, he'd glance through it. The black mold having fallen still, silent like the place it was claimed from. In a way this entire structure mirrored a mausoleum, buried under a layer of time and yet the stampeding feet above knew nothing of its existence. Time had erased it completely, save for a few foolish enough to breach its barriers. Black Iron Keep was a hazard, a danger. One that beckoned those with gold lined eyes to seek out fortune so that it may consume them. Promise of such riches leading them to an early grave. Holding aloft the glass container, allowing what little light to show, it glistens. His mind races to the armor from before, the weapon left abandoned. What was that person like? What could they have been should they have not met their end here? What mother cried for their loss, or friends would feel a burning in their chest now that they had ceased to exist?

It was what nightmares were made of.

Those people would never know what happened, and Raidou would never know their name. Know their face. Who here knew what it was that had happened to them, and in the end did they even care? A sharp inhale as the wanderer worked to steel his nerves against such thoughts, such feeling of loss. It was odd to others how quickly he found value in life, which was a curiosity in its own right. How could they not, find value in something that you only have one of. Something that you could never get back, once taken away it was gone for good. The people he had met seemed so desperate to dispose of it, throw it around and place it close to a fire and see if it could withstand the heat.

When he would give such a thing away, it would be on his terms. It would be a gift that might very well protect such fleeting wisps from that pyre. Removing the lenses from his brow, wiping away some dew from the glass before sliding a tuft of red fabric along them. Mourning came easy, it was the mask that hid it that was harder. Strength to carry on, to hold strong and pretend that everything is alright. To the handful of metal scraps he had pulled from the remains of a magic suit of armor, lifeless as they were struck down and yet magnificent. That sadness bred anger, the wish to make it mean something, even if small. That teleport crystal that was left as a tombstone, whoever they were: It wouldn't be in vain. He'd force it to mean something.

Back to his face, and raising to the flats of his feet. The scattering sounds of a jail door being slid ajar, stamina recovered and a new bone to pick. Raidou had to find something tangible to bring back with him.

Releasing the bars with a tinge of brown that clung to his fingers, rust coming off of them like powder. An adjust of his robe, another quick scan of the narrowed walk that he stood. Squeaking mice flee through the iron, having been startled by the traveler, releasing clumps of partially chewed fabric in their wake. Then begins the heartbeat of his footsteps along this vein, pulsing down passages like a cell in a body. Each sound carried past where one could see, threatening to alert any dormant hostile with its presence. To Raidou, he didn't seem to care. A glance to his minimap, and its adorned compass. Due north, into a faintly faded rendition of a rectangle in blue. Slightly fuzzier where his arrow would point. Still into uncharted territory, and yet he had been down here for what felt like hours.

Hot air out of burning lungs becomes visible in the air, with non descript sounds jumping out at him from the dark. Memory had a way of assailing him in these quiet moments, and now as no different. But it was pressed and repressed in the confines of his mind, remaining wholly focused on the current, for he expected much more to leap out at him. Minutes quickly advance, bringing a concealed dawn to a close where he could not perceive it. Approaching those sounds, with interest, to write them to a page. Rounding another of many rounded corners, dimmed and unlit sconce on the wall. Bones in fragmented pieces strewn along the stone beneath his feet. The breath from his lips still milky white, as it burned in visibility. A soft tapping somewhere on his peripheral, attempting to force him to turn his attentions. A sonar like pulse bleeds from him, revealing a few lingering red dots. Enemies, like every room before this, was rigged to blow.

A reflex as he tore out the gilded edge produced by the guild smith, it flashes and casts a bit more visibility to the surrounding chamber. Revealing these pale looking creatures that were slightly translusent but mimicked what was littered across the floor. Black frames that were slightly transparent and eerie glowing eyes, reaching out for the warmth of life within this forgotten crypt. A violent tear is matched with a horrid scream in anguish, the bits that composed its body being burned up upon contact. It shrieks and recoils, attempting to escape the wave of force that was effectively erasing it. As it starts to turn into a charcoal like vapor, being dismissed like smoke.

Raidou spins the grip and takes a few more wide arcs while advancing, cleaving through each monster. The aura in the room shifts from one of devour to one of fear and the need to escape. It seemed they had bitten off more than they could chew and were regretting the transgressions they had made. Dispersed and damaged silhouettes hung in the air, burning and smoldering, as the lingering power worked to turn to ash what little they had left. "Unfortunate, but you've left me no choice." Raidou remarks, twisting his torso, his left shoulder becoming dominate and spinning Auric Sunlight back to its scabbard. He was done here, in an instant all that would oppose him had been reduced to ash.

As the sounds of fleeting demise still filled the room, Raidou had shifted his attentions to shelving and tables. Earnestly sliding about utensils and platters, as well as any various baubles that hung upon platforms. He was giving a once over, hoping to glean something tangible from this endeavor. Nothing to show, just more nonsense with hardly any meaning. It couldn't all be worthless, could it?

As he rummaged and disturbed more manuals, novels or literature. Tearing open pages and shuffling through transcribed words upon them, some of it legible and others in languages he couldn't understand. They begin to pile upon the floor, being tossed over a shoulder after being shown to be unintelligible. Various ages, colors and panels. Illustrations and ink, and yet as some of them appear to start to move on their own. A cover playing the part of wings, as pages begin to fall out of the flaps between. They scatter like snowflakes, dancing through the air as they hit the floor.

Raidou continues, not noticing just yet, as he frantically rips through the books one after another. The now bird like novels began to close in, using the element of sound from each tossed book to move in for an attack. Teeth begin to protrude out of the bindings, desperate to take a bite out of the player that had dismissed them so carelessly before now. The wanderer's skin begins to itch, a sixth sense that had come purely by chance. A single sonar pulse of searching on a whim lights up his mini map like christmas lights. A quick shift of his body in a turn has the creature slam into the bookshelf. Books fall to the floor as he decks it with an engulfed blue fist, reaching for the awaiting handle behind his right shoulder. Clambering as one latches around that arm's wrist, trying to keep him from clasping on. Extended fingers see a discharge of lightning, a rebuttal to being latched onto. A snap of anger, and a few black cables become protruding spikes out of his back. It pierces one with an aggressive pair of barbs. "Watch where you put your mouth." A feral bite to his tone.

Sliding through the binding are cables of black, that were once spears of ichor before becoming flimsy and twisting into barbs. They tear back like a line on a wench, ripping it close as Raidou draws a blade. A vicious shredding sees what little damage it had done refilled in an instant, rewarding itself to Raidou's HP pool in a glowing red trail. "You might regret the taste." he remarks, as the weapon sets ablaze in a decaying reddish orange. Fueled by ire and the sudden surprise, Raidou pivots and dumps that creature hooked to the web it had been caught in. It slams into the floor, causing the stone to break and become shrapnel, tossing bits and fragments out from where it strikes. The blade comes right along the first, impaling it and forcing it to pop. An extension of his left hand, a black line fired from his wrist, clutches the next and rips him into the creature. It scorches a line from the implanted blade before being torn out, in a wide horizontal burn.

Sliced in twain, two folds fluttering down now lifeless before turning into blue dust. The edge quickly redirects, falling over Raidou's shoulder and pulled back across and slid back toward his left leg in a frenzy. Bisected, slain faster than the AI could even process the happening. A myriad of dust bleeding in small fractles before twisting from blue to red. A hallowed inhale, as Juiblex claims the essences of them all. A mistake corrected, for the creature now had its fill. A return of that blade twisted by the familiar's presence back to the scabbard awaiting it on his back, the distraction having been destroyed. Now what was left was a ripe mess he was hesitant to sift through.

Since destroyed, he eyes the pile of disturbed books. That gaze passes back to the now empty shelving, and offers a very faint sigh. It would appear that his efforts in this chamber would come up empty, and it would be best to press on. Fiddling with the lenses on his brow, finding nothing to keep him here, inspecting through this illegible wreckage. Dropping the now dead and worn out glowstone, before reaching into his pocket and tapping softly another. The flickering green glow like a firefly begins to peel out of the stone, breathing a brighter and more consistent light than the one prior. His arm begins to raise, making that color reflect off of the damp walls. As soon as it lights, more of that soft tapping catches his senses. Looking over his shoulder, trying to suss out the source. It was only the absence was able to greet him, the complete and utter nothing. 

The soft pattering of his heels as he shifts up, heels connecting with the dim and dark stone. Left untouched and a layer of soot being smeared about as he moves, a few sets of violet eyes become illuminated in the dark. A rip of a yellow colored blade from a scabbard casts a gleaming flash into the chamber. The whole thing is engulfed in light. It reveals a smattering of creatures quickly moving from the darkness, attempting to circle and attack. A single broad stroke in an instant, at blinding speeds, sees them scatter in all directions. The sound of blast comes after, the outcry of thunder riddles the stone and echos for what would easily be heard in the streets above. Damaged and brutalized, the opposition lay weakened and winded in that rough platform after being flung. A shift of his feet and twirl of his blade with a barely noticeable exhale. A high pitch whir builds again down the length of that steel.
