[PP-22] Taiyaki for the Guy?

"Ladies," Freyd offered to his mysterious companions.  "You are both as reliable as ever.  I thank you for your diligence and assistance in this matter."  A nod to each was all he required to conclude their business before returning his attention to the woman he'd unintentionally dragged into this mess.

"You're right.  This never should have happened, but it did, and you did well."  His form lengthened by a few inches and morphed in colour back to his previous monochromatic fashion, most of his features still shrouded beneath his cowl, which he unexpectedly drew back.  Exposed, his face was plain, if slightly angular.  His brow arched and sat in a natural furrow, giving him an permanent intensity that mimicked his demeanor.  A predatory air coiled around his him, though she could sense that it wasn't directed at her in any way.  Twin azure orbs that seemed starkly bright set themselves in her direction, partially hidden beneath strands of mousy brown hair still somewhat laced with flour.  It made him seem older, though she'd have guessed he was already by his bearing and appearance, at least compared to most players in the game.  The way he changed made one think he might be a gemini himself, save for the emerald crystal slowly spinning over his head.

"Yes.  My name is Freyd, a Captain from the Guild Firm Anima, whose halls reside nearby, and thank you for the compliment."  A wry smile crept across his lips and tension eased around those hawkish eyes.  "I'm sorry to have dragged you into this, especially after it turned out to be for nothing.  That bony cretin got away, again."  He shook his head; the only outward sign of lingering frustration.  "I'll need to go back to Coral and offer to clean up the mess I caused in that woman's shop.  Those poor people have been through enough, recently."  Flashbacks of the Tanabata festival and its aftermath flickered behind his eyes.  

"And, I'm sorry, but who are you?"

A simple nod toward her captain, shoring up her legs from the spread and tapping the toes of her right foot in the dust. There was a silent understanding as she tightened the orange ribbon in her hair, and they would wait idly by should such a command arise again. The girl lunges toward the dark leaves of the canopy, a blink of purple light, leaving a spray of small petals that glimmer down softly. Spinning through the air, like confetti, harmlessly. They'd play the part of shadows, just outside the peripheral of what was visible. Freyd needed no sight to move his pieces, the board was his to control. To every body were two hands, and in each was a weapon ready to draw blood. Judgment came swift to those that opposed him and his intentions, and it all would ever require is a simple snap of a finger.

The training was obvious, a simple shake of her head that mirrored the other assassin that fought alongside her. Similar in build, in attire and in motive. Setsuna nods to Freyd, that icy cold stare still burning bright over the cloth covering adorning her mouth. She slides the katana back into the sash around her hip, her eyes finding Mina but no words escape her. That gaze seemed almost threatening, and for a moment she contemplated speaking. But, there were other matters to attend. The frigid end would not waste time on chastising a player that clearly did not understand the gravity of what she had stepped in. The target was on the move, and hunting it down would not be simple, it seemed. The link between them breaks, as Setsuna twists, leaving a wake of white. It spreads like fire, washing her within its opacity. Once it fades away, the girl was nowhere to be seen, as if she never existed at all.
