[PP-F2] <<Earning a Living>> Artisan style

Recommended Posts

Zelrius waited about the teleport gate of Floor 2, waiting for others to show up so he wouldn't be at this by himself. Their goal was simple: Go to the Mountains and find out how to obtain the ores there such as Gold and Silver in order for Zelrius to become a successful Artisan. It just seemed a little too easy to Zelrius at first. But as he thought of it, The quest gave no Information on how to obtain the ores, it stated we had to find out once we were there...

The teleportation gate beside Zelrius began to glow bright light blue and hum as Miaki warped through it. "Hey there Zel, I heard you were doing something on this floor. Just what exactly are you doing here on floor two? Care about me tagging along with you?" He asked the <> and Council Member to the <>.

Regarding the <> Zelrius nodded happily. He'd love to have Miaki along, afterall he was a familiar face around here, a friendly and of course, a fellow Council member of <>. Zelrius added quickly to all this regard:

"Aye, I do not see why not. Sure you can come along, We are going to wait here for Ruri then be on our way!" Zelrius spoke cheerfully and with a delightful tone. Today, he suspect, was going to be a good day indeed.

Miaki crossed his arms and leaned against the teleportation gate. "Oh so Ruri is joining us? I'm glad to see you keep relations between the Brigade and the <>. I'm sure that isn't your real reason but I'm glad things are going well." Miaki glanced at the clock in his field-of-vision checking the time. "SO what exactly are we doing? A quest or something?" He asked Zelrius.

Zelrius smiled at MIaki's question. The Blood Buccaneer was quite eager to let this information out

"Actually, A quest is accurate. I am doing my earning a living. On my way to becoming an artisan since there aren't that many of those around." He said with a content voice, seeming as though he thought becoming an artisan was the right thing to do.

Zelrius let out a breath. He looked around, Ruri was no where to be seen coming. He laughed, as kind of a way to hide his disappointment. He had wanted to go with Both Ruri and Miaki, but since she seemed to be a no Show, Miaki would be just fine.

"Well, No sense in waiting for her. Let's get going." Zelrius proclaimed following the marker on his 2d Map.

"Works for me." He said as he pushed off and followed Zelrius. "So an artisan? Well that's helpful to have for us. Sounds like fun. Looking forward to seeing some of the cool things you are able to make. Let's see we have two alchemists an artisan and I I believe one of our new recruits is a blacksmith. We almost have all of the professions in the Brigade."

Zelrius was listening to Miaki talk about what The Blood Buccaneer called "Guild Politics"

"Aye, We have almost all the professions. And we have the only ones that matter right now. Quite honestly I'd never see a use for a Performer or a Arcobat. But if that's what people want to be, They'll be it." He said right as they exited town and a cold gust wind blew at them. Zelrius smiled, The wind felt good after him having so much time solo in the Floor 5 Deserts.

"Well recently I heard a couple people have taken up preforming and apparently it comes with temporary buffs. You can supposedly "bottle" your music or whatever to a recording crystal and the one-time use playback grants a certain buff." He informed him. "It could be possibly useful but like you Im not seeing a high use in it right now but who knows. That could surprise us." They eventually came closer a set of mountains. "So are we diamond hunting or something?" He asked Zelrius.

"I just don't see it becoming overwhelmingly important, especially Floor clearing and in Guilds..." He stated to finish off that part of their talk. Zelrius continued on to Miaki's second question.

"Diamond Hunting? To the sort yes. Depends if Diamonds are there. Information Brokers say Gold and silver is what is most common and the few diamonds there are aren't enough to make a Item entirely from it. They are used more or less for encrusts on Jewerly. Though a few diamonds would be cool, I doubt we'll get very few if any at all..."

They came upon the entrance of a large cave hidden away from the main path. There was no visible light coming from inside until they were about 20 meters inside and went around a bend. They then could see the tunnel being lit by torchlight. The tan walls were smooth to the touch and not at all covered in a layer of dirt like Miaki would've expected. "DId we bring a pickaxe? I left mine in my other coat."

Zelrius shook his head. He dragged his hand arcoss one of the walls. Not at all what you would expect from a mine, The walls were smooth, Not rocky and bulging.

"I did not bring one. I didn't even SAO had some. The quest told me I'd figure it out once I was here, implying that there was no need for special items or anything of the sort. Or at least I hope that's what it meant..." He felt like cursing himself out, afterall it would only make sense to bring a Pickaxe to a Mine.

They turned a corner and both noticed a rail track on the ground. "You just might be in luck it would seem Zel. If there is a mine cart around here then it's likely there will be mining equipment laying around here. Let's follow this track." Miaki thought that if there was a rail track then it would lead to the main part of the mining facility. Maybe even to an abandon shaft that may have been missed.

Zelrius followed Miaki closely now. Zelrius's bad eyesight made it even harder for him to see in the dim light, so he just kind of walked behind Miaki despite this Being Zelrius's quest afterall. As they further down, The ground became rougher, along with the wall. And in that, fainlt clinking sounds were heard at a 2 second interval. As they got further down, The hallway began to become more Lit. Until an opening to a larger area could be seen far beyond the hall.

Inside the large hall was a heavily lit room filled with all sorts of mining equipment and gear. Elevator shafts and catwalks were all over the place. Piles of various types of helmets, worker garbs, tools, and portable light sources. "Jackpot!" Miaki shouted.

Zelrius smiled and went forward. Equipping a Mining Helmet, and grabbing a pickaxe He forward to a shining rock that had little bits of silver with in the rock. Zelrius knew exactly what needed to be done. He started swinging the pickaxe. Since this was SAO it was off a system, and no ACTUAL work was needed, He just hoped for the best

Miaki also added the mining gear to his equipment. He grabbed a pickaxe and threw it over his shoulder and also grabbed himself a nice sized lantern. "Let's split up a little bit. You take that side of the area and I'll take this side. If all else fails we can try one of these shafts. Make sure we keep in earshot of each other." He told Zelrius as he turned and walked to the other side of the room.

Zelrius nodded and went to his area that Miaki had indicated. Nothing wrong with that plan, He liked it infact. While walking over there he opened up the given information to him about Gems and being an artisan. The Information told him of how different areas contained different things such as: Rubies, Sapphires, Emeralds, Opal, Amethyst, Heliotrope, Garnet, and many many more That Zelrius didn't want to go through. One thing that did strike him was some Monsters might even drop Ivory, which monsters is unknown however.

Gripping his pickaxe and once again Mining a little speckled rock once again.

Miaki took his pickaxe and struck the stone wall with a few solid strikes. With each strike Miaki heard a CLINK sound as the metal struck stone. Miaki began to burst into song.

We dig dig dig dig dig dig dig in a mine the whole day through

To dig dig dig dig dig dig dig is what we like to do

It ain't no trick

To get rich quick

If you dig dig dig

With a shovel or a pick

In a mine (In a mine)

In a mine (In a mine)

Where a million diamonds

Shine

As Miaki was mining he acquired some <>.

Zelrius listen to Miaki singing in the background and simply shook his head and smiled. It certainly was better the hear something other then the clink of a Pickaxe once, then a whooshing sound, then either a fail or success sound. SAO made Mining so boring looking and Boring in the act. One strike, Blue particles, then success, The end.

(2 Gold 2 Sillver Acquired)
