[F26-PP] The Ladonian Revolution

Recommended Posts

The door explodes outward in a shower of splinters, and as she turns on her heel and begins to pull farmers and common folk out of the slab's massive pit. The trap door snaps shut above, the other players would continue to ascend the tower up to whatever treasure awaited them at the top. But she had her own problems now, the rhythmic beating of footsteps in the distance alluded to a return of forces. A quick glance to Lium and the rest of her newly bestowed entourage. "Guess we are in this for the long haul, we ain't going up unless we find some other way." Reaching down and claiming one of the lingering weapons from the forces they'd carved through up to this point, she underhand tosses it to the first guy close enough to receive it. "Here, get some weapons. Those tills and crap won't do you any good."

The guy looks to it puzzled, having never held a sword before. "I don't"

Her face twists to a mix of anger and a grin "Then I'll fuckin' teach you, hold it up with the sharp point faced out. Best to figure it out as you go, I won't let you eat shit just yet, got it?"

Placing a hand on the dude's shoulder, he redirects the sword pointing it in Liums direction. "Woooh down boy. Put your hand a bit further down. Gives you more control. Got it?" A simple nod from them both as Lium began to grab other weapons just laying around, some being on corpse and some just lying in the streets that they walked. Putting a weapon in each person behind them that didn't already have one. Teaching each person how to football as they hurried through the halls. Keeping his eyes forward, he sees a guy charging the group before they were ready, "Shit," Lium rushed forward and pulls his hand back, the enemy strikes toward him as he pivots his feet with a shift of his feet. Grabbing the back of his neck and with the other hand grasping the wrist which the sword was held. Glancing at some of the noobs saying, "Here's a pin cushion, have at it."

The gilded halls of the Landonian capital begin to ring out with the sounds of conflict, troops rounding the corner in an attempt to correct 'unlawful breaking and entering'. What they manage to see is a few of their number disappear out of view before they explode back violently into vision. Weapons bounce shortly after, clattering to the floor and collecting next to the bodies and the statue pieces. "This way!" Celeste barks as she slides and looks out at the courtyard and smirks toward the coming army. Her blade's handle released sees the thing hit the tile and start to grind off into the distance. Her arms fire out to both sides and seize the sides of the broken gate, eyes flare red and she taps into that strength of hers.

The metal begins to bend as she claps the two ends together and squeezes, folding the pieces and twisting. "That will keep them out for a bit, let's get that fucking king." Her legs split apart, and she lunges down the hall at breakneck speed, falling into a baseball slide and picking her weapon. It starts to drag as she bolts.

The guard captured plays an elegant test dummy, Lium holding him still as the group they were leading begin to take swipes. It seemed they were starting to get the hang of it, the first few attempts sucked, but eventually they were actually dealing damage. A boot slams through a pair of twinned doors, revealing a massive library. Blackwood shelving, and every inch of the space filled to the brim with tomes. On the immediate left was a globe trapped in a frame, and the vibration makes it spin gently.

The empire of people takes turns on this poor guy's sternum that Lium was holding onto. He didn't feel any remorse, they should have not tried to attack us. Eventually the dude within his grasp explodes into nothing. A small conversation between the people before they all look to Lium. "You guys ready to give it your all now." A nod from all and a small cheer with war cries coming from every direction. "Ati boys and girls, let move forward. Ready Cel, let's go find that bastard and show him that he messed with the wrong people." Saying this in an almost angered, but determined tone, rushing out the door as the men and woman behind him start to flock out to keep the surround soldiers busy. Quick glance around, "Your lead, where to next." His eyes peer to his companion with question in his words. This was sorta fun in a dangerous sorta way.

The girl immediately darts for the first available bookcase, "These rich bastards love their secret staircases, help me." As her arms fire up and start ripping down books one after another in clattering piles. A siren in the distance alludes to a renewing set of forces, and the ground shakes visibly. It as if some detonation below had made the entire chamber shutter. "The fuck was that?" The girl goads with a book in each hand. It would appear that they were tomes of history, records of some sort regarding most of what had transpired in Galtea in their factious retelling of the events of the floor. A few of the NPC's that she'd been pulling around by the nose poor in behind Lium, looking rather dumbstruck at what they saw. "Oh for fuck's sake, You and..." as she jabs a finger toward one "You. Guard the doors, whistle or something if you see anyone coming. The rest of you, toss the place." Celeste's eyes flare in red as she clasps the slit between the wall and a bookcase. Easily to the ceiling, she huffs and rips the thing forward.

Books spray out in all directions, as the thing falls forward, sending a waterfall of pages everywhere. "Got to be something..."

Watching the books fly in every direction and papers float down like snow, he can't help but chuckle a bit. Rushing to another bookshelf, sliding to the side. Rearing a fist back as the high positioned of his arm is matched with his sternum. His fist begins to glow as his fist makes contact against the wooden piece. Causing it to tremble and shake as move of the books that lay upon it were now on the floor. "Better," saying with a grin. Shifting to the front of it not as a book bashes him in the head. Hand to the head with a rub, "Hey, watch where your tossing those..." glancing to Cel with a small glare. A huff as he sees her shoulders shrug. Eyes back on the shelf as only a few tomes remained. Tossing a few before he found a novel that was not budging. "Hey, Cel, I think I found something," glancing to the walls as he tries to push the thing in but nothing. Trying to pull but nothing still... "Hmm..." saying as he crosses his arms for a moment just staring at it. After a few seconds, placing his hand back on this large reading bundle of papers, he pulls down on it. The walls creek as dust began to rise from the crack on this now moving interior. "Found you... This way," calling out as he rushed in first to make sure it was safe on the other side. When knowing it was he guided the party into the door frame. Poking his head in to see Cel, "You coming?"

An overhand toss of the book she was holding onto, over her left shoulder, sees it clap against the wall and slowly slide down. "That's more like it." she opens the door and ushers the two posted as guards in, and the 30 or 40 some odd dudes in here were starting to make it cramped. "Move" Celeste quips with a shove of a heavier looking fellow away from the door, before she grabs an empty bookshelf and shoves it on its side with her heeled foot. It crashes down in front of the entryway. "That should hold them, let's get going. Keep them weapons ready!" Celeste barks to the rest of these clowns, that were slowly looking different with every step. The woman doesn't pay it any mind however, and takes a few steps into this narrow corridor. Reaching for a sconce on the wall, and tearing it free, she holds up the light source. "Let's hope this leads up or somewhere that does, eh?" Celeste smiles with a wave of that burning object. She starts to take point, down that walkway.

It seems to bend and wind around for quite some time, until evidently it leads to a harsh dead end. "Huh, the fuck?"

Walking behind the group as Celeste takes point. After a moment, the group stops abruptly and Lium runs into the guys in front of him. The man whines a bit and turns swiftly as Lium's body shifts to the left quickly and grabs the arm that was flying at him with a sword. Lium just shakes his head, "Watch where you're swinging that shit," releasing the arm now and points to his ears. "Stay quiet and listen behind me. Call out if anything besides your men come through okay." Scared shitless he nods. Pushing through the crowd now to see the halting stop. Seeing the dead end now, Lium just smirks. "One thing that you need to know about dead ends, If the hall leads this way with no other exit," pausing for a moment as he carefully brushes his hands against the walls, nothing on the front wall as he moves to the right wall. Staring up and down as his hand rub against the rough surface, then he stops. "If no other way out, there is always something. I have played enough video games to know this trick," saying this with a smirk as he presses down with his right hand. A door opens to the right with a swirling stair case. It was very narrow but it was something. "Queen first, I'll stay behind and make sure everyone get up. See you on the flip side." Turning as he wanders back into the crowd to push to party forward.

After getting back to where he was, a continuous banging started to take place. It was coming from the blocked door behind them. "Climb faster Cel, they are working their way in," Lium calls out as he began to nudge the people forward faster.

It had actually required a fair bit of effort to wander through the pressing throngs of mutually angry mobs pounding their way through the castle in one direction or another.  Some wore red, other blue.  Blue tended to stab red, and then vice versa.  Messy.  Noisy.  Tiring.  He just wanted to sit down and catch his breath for a few minutes, and maybe have a drink or two, then a nap.  A nap would be nice.  Somewhere nice and quiet, preferably warm and void of homicidal maniacs asserting the dominance of a particular hue.

He didn't have a map, and had no clue what this place even was.  Watching the players he'd become entangled with only adding to the ambient chaos, Nobody had been swept up in whatever was supposed to be happening.  Somehow, he'd managed to fan the flames of revolution using a stained, mustard-coloured cloth that turned out to have been a pile of vomit and urine-soaked rags that clung together after having dried in a heap.  Pride and confusion swelled at the notion that he'd earned his own colour, paired with disgust at his particularly awful luck.

Finally alone, and away from the worst of the stabby-stabbies, he'd stumbled into a large chamber adorned by a low rise and series of high clerestory windows that shone light down deliberately on the most beautifully comfortable lounge chair he had ever seen.  Sure, it was unusually upright and lacked the reclining features one might expect of a barcalounger, but there was no one else here, meaning that it was all his.  Skootching himself into an appropriately draped lay, his left leg dangled over the matching chair arm, bobbing casually in the air to the tune of some distant, imagined fanfare.  Drool soon puddled and soaked on the lush fabric of the right arm.  Nobody would appreciate the echoes of his sonorous snores as they bounced upon the marble walls, reverberating back towards the central dais thanks to carefully designed acoustics.  It was comfy, after a fashion, and a fantastic place for that long-overdue break.

At least, it was until Nobody shifted his left shoulder and toggled the hidden switch concealed in the armrest that currently served as his pillow.  A section of stone receded behind arched colonnades on the far wall, before swinging into the throne room and spilling forth a gaggle of misfits and revolutionaries.  Most were too busy trying not to accidentally stab each other in the process to even notice he was there.  Glancing over his shoulder at the noise, bleary eyes squinted over gold admiral's epaulettes which he had never earned, but merely borrowed without any intention of returning.  His muffled voice carried, thanks to the aforementioned acoustical marvel, as he shut his eyes and dismissed the new arrivals as one might a wayward dream.

"No thanks.  I didn't call for room service.  Come back in an hour or two."

  • 2 weeks later...

The bookcase gives and a steaming pile of bodies fall out like dominoes. A study of some sort and a sad sack of smells that were all offensive lay poured out upon its throne. A heavy shove casts one of the villagers off of the woman, before she peels herself off the floor. Eyes dart upwards and take a scan of the room, immediately on edge and ready for a fight. Empty. Save one pungent sack of potatoes strewn about and faintly the sound of buzzing. "What kind of room service pops out of a hole in the wall?" Perking up and rushing for one of the bay windows, placing her back against the wall and taking a peek out. Guards were mobilizing heavily out the gates. "Looks like we have company, and by the look of things it's going to be over fire code."

The glance darts straight to Lium "Any ideas?" The woman was weighing a few, but hers were not exactly subtle. They didn't need to slaughter all these nigh endless forces, but wax that ass with a crown. The soldiers can wait, and who knew? If Razwell fell, they may retreat. A brunette woman, in a peasant's dress almost just as filthy as Nobody, approaches him. "Thank you for your kindness, fair knight." She remarks while her face contorts in a bow. Her eyes watering heavily as her senses were on fire. Struggling with the thought of plugging her nose.

Celeste was tapping her knuckles on one of the marble pillars, waiting for Lium to come up with a plan B. "So, are you coming along, or waiting to get arrested? Maybe stabbed or maimed? Those guards are after all of us." Finally, recognizing the dude from the airship, and how she ended up in this mess in the first place.

Now pushing his back against the marble plastered wall next to Celeste. Peaking around to corner, seeing all those thoughtless guards on edge. Glancing around the room carefully, nothing, at first glance. Curious of any other exits in an outward location, eyes shifting around the room. One of the guards start to look in this direction, Lium pulls his head back quickly. In a whisper, "There are not doors that are noticeable to our vision right now. There is no way to get up without going further into the chamber. If only there was a way to make our own way up." Glancing around the corner once more as he hears voices down below from where they came up. "Shit," eyes follow up toward the ceiling, looking for something, anything, they were running out of time. Creaking up the ladder, assuming those who were giving them chase. He was not strong enough to go all ape shit and his thinking was limited right now. He didn't have much to go on. There was towers like this that he had explored in a different games, but nothing that didn't have an obvious exit. This one did not...
