[SP-F1] A hunter is born

Recommended Posts

How long has it been since he picked up and installed this game? It had been too long and not long enough. This game was so addicting that. His adventures on the first floor had led him down the path that he always followed, a path of hunting and killing monsters on his own. He was used to this, for this was the style he had developed in games prior to this.

One day, he was hunting threw a dense forest area when he happened across a boar. Normally he would avoid such a monster, for the simplicity of moving on to bigger game. However, something told him to attack this monster. Not just attack, but to silently kill it.

From this angel, he could see the boar clear as day from between the brush. However, Crim knew he needed a quiet way to sneak up to it. Crawling through the brush would make it too noisy. However the tree to his right was a little too far away for him to make it quietly. He was left with a two options.

1: Crawl around the bush slowly and sneak up behind the boar.(1-5)

2: Sneak his way to the tree for a better angel (6-10)

He would let his gut decide his next move.

His gut told him to go with the tree, even though it was more of a risk to get to the tree. It would put him in a better position at attacking the monster. So he began to quietly step towards the tree, being careful not to step on any branches or leafs. He looked to his left as he could see the boar going about its programmed business. So simple and easy to avoid that it almost felt like child’s play. Then he remembered that this was by far the lowest level monster of the game.

He laughed to himself without making a sound, rounding the tree to take cover. This was indeed a better spot then the brush. The brush had way too many things around it that would make it easier for him to get caught. From here, he could go around either side of the tree with ease. It would all depend if the boar was facing towards him or away from him.

Quietly pulling out his sword before slowly moving his head out from behind the tree. He could see the boars back side in the small open area of the forest. The sound of the trees wrestling in the wind gave him a slight sound cover as he waited to see if the boar would walk away or turned towards him.

1: Boar runs away

2-4: Boar starts to walk away

5-7: Boar turns towards him

8-10: Boar stays with its head away from him

Crim figured something like this would happen. The boar slowly began to turn towards him. He continued to watch until the boar was half way turned. Then he slowly pulled his head back behind the tree and listened. Listening to its snorting breath and the loud steps it took. He could see its shadow on the ground as it started to walk towards the tree.

From the shadow, he figured the boar would pass to the left side of the tree. So he began to slowly move around the tree to the opposite side. Keep an eye on the shadow while making sure his steps were ever so quiet. When he finally came to the opposite side of the tree, the Boar had move very little and was in striking range of his blade.

He moved around so he was now directly behind the boar, moving his blade so it was pointing straight down at the boar’s back. He paused for a second before his sword art took over. Coming down quickly and quietly, it hit the boar in the square middle of its back. Cutting a bright red mark into its back before it faded off like every other monster.

However, this time, an award message popped up. Indicating a drop item had been placed into his inventory. So he stood up and opened up his inventory. Scrolling down, he found what was only labeled as a Basic Bow. This was the first item of its kind he ever heard of. Only assuming this game had blades, he quickly equipped it. His sword disappeared and in its place, a wooden bow with a simple string on it appeared. He pulled back on the string and released it. Nothing happened. This only concluded that he needed to acquire a quiver and arrows now.

With that he equipped his sword again and went hunting, this time for the quiver and arrows. Coming across another Boar, he took no time in killing it this time. Running directly at it as he performed another quick attack, slicing the Boar in half and watching it fade away, hoping to get the rest of what he needed.

1-6: nothing

7-8: clothing (basic)

9-10: Quiver and arrows (basic)
