[PP-F1-7] Getting Crafting Mats

Recommended Posts

Daeron was on the fourth floor, and has checking up on his inventory, and he realized that there weren't any materials for him to craft. He needed new material to take on his new contract that he was recently given from a specific someone. Daeron then contacted a player who has proven he wasn't afraid of the top maverick in SAO. He contacted Shade, to ask him if he'd like to join him on the material hunt to see if he'd like some free experience, and so Daeron could make his gear after the hunt.

To: Shade

From: Daeron

Shade, down for some material hunting? I need material, you need experience, I believe this is what we would call a win-win situation.

We will be hunting

- Frost Giants (Floor 4)

- Desert Bandit (Floor 5)

- Sand Serpent (Floor 5)

Daeron hit the blue button on his GUI prompt and a message popped up right away, stating, "Message Sent." Now Daeron waited until he got a reply from the player.

Shade was alone beneath a tree, thinking over things as a message popped up on his HUD. He tapped the PM and let it expand, taking a look at who it was from. "Daeron... This must be good..." He said, reading through said message. After reading, he closed his Pm and stood up. "Hmph. This is just like taking candy from a baby, which is fine by me." He said as he started to make his way to Daeron. Upon arrival, he didn't play "Nicies". He simply grunted and crossed his arms. "I'm here. Now what are we to do?"

Daeron looked at Shade, who stood there like a stubborn child. Seriously? Can you ever smile? Cheer up damn it! he said as he sent Shade a party request. He knew Shade was a lower player, but he was tough, and he wasn't going to complain much either. Thankfully, he knew Shade also wouldn't annoy the crap out of Daeron. Alright, you ready? he said as he was just about to leave without him.

Shade rolled his eyes and gave a nod. "Of course not. What sane person has their gear equipped when going into a game that's out for their head? Of course I'm ready." He said in a sarcastic tone, keeping his arms crossed as he walked along, keeping the same nonchalant expression the whole time.

Daeron looked at the list he had sent Shade. Frost Giants, they were the first monster they would be going after, hoping to collect Ice Fragments, that can be used to make Frost Ingots, which are perfect for making medium and light class armor. Although it may look fragile, the material is indeed a hard quality, making it good for taking hits and endure heavy blows that may stun or paralyze. Alright, so we need to gather about 4 Ice Fragments For a single Frost Ingot, and I need three Frost ingots for a single attempt to make the chest plate, to take on the guy I wish to fight. So what I will do, is probably gather about 6 or 9 this way I can do multiple attempts of crafting in a single sitting. he said as he led the party into a passageway between the mountains where there stood about 12 statues made of solid ice. Don't worry, only 2 can aggro at once, so not all of them aggro at once, plus they respawn after they are killed, so we can just grind from them. he said as he threw two meager snowballs at two of the statues, which were now coming to life. And also, seriously.... SMILE! Fighting and killing is a passion, not something you do for no reason. he added as he readied his weapon.

Shade grunted and readied his cutlass, holding it in an upside-down grip that he usually did. "Hmph. I go Maverick on my own accord." He said, getting ready to attack one of the frost giants. He ran forward and then slipped, tripping over the slick ice and landing on his bottom. "Damn it..." He grumbled, standing up.

Daeron watched as Shade fell flat on his behind, Daeron gave a slight chuckle and he ran forward at the first frost giant, ready to swing his weapon at the 10 foot tall statue. Daeron then swung his weapon at the giant's leg, hoping he wouldn't fail like Shade did, as that would be instant karma.

Battle Dice: 10 + 1 = 11 (4 Damage)

Somehow, without meaning to, Daeron swung his weapon at a vital part of the giant's leg, as after he swung the weapon, the giant, had slightly fallen to the ground, and a hairline fracture began to grow along the leg of the giant. Continue hitting it on the same spot, it should die rather quickly then. he said as he kept his eye on the two giants in front of him and his party member.

The First of the Frost Giants, stepped forward, and lifted his leg, as he neared the small group of players. It was just about to stomp on Daeron, who clearly dealt the most damage so far. Slowly, but with great force, the leg began to move down towards the player, with the orange name.

Battle Dice: 6 (1 Damage)

The player seemed to be quick enough to avoid a majority of the damage, however when it jumped out of harms way, he jumped right into it, as he collided with the wall, and it must have knocked the breath out of him.

The second frost giant, watched as the player rolled and collided with the wall nearby. Taking this as an opening for the player to be attacked, it also lifted its colossal leg, and slowly moved it downwards towards the player with a tremendous amount of force.

Battle Dice: 7 (1 Damage)

Again, the player named, Daeron was ready for another attack, and he had managed to avoid the attack again, but this time, he gained a few scrapes from the landing he made after the dodge, as the ice, felt like a razor sharp blade on bare skin.

Shade raised an eyebrow as he saw the Giants and their small damage output. "Tch... And here I thought <> Suggested something much stronger. I must say I'm fairly disappointed." He said, getting ready to attack. But as he took off, he slipped on the ice. Again. "Damn it all to Hell!"

Daeron watched as his ally, had once again, fallen and slipped on the ice. Trying not to laugh, Daeron ran at the same Frost Giant he attacked the first time, and swung his weapon, near the hairline fracture along the leg of the Frost Giant.

Battle Dice: 8 + 1 = 9 (2 Damage)

Succesfully, Daeron's weapon met with the fracture, and it had formed into a spiderweb on the leg now, proving that it's ready to shatter at any second.

The First Frost Giant, knew it would be dead soon. So because of it's AI, it now targeted Daeron again, because he had done the most damage, plus he was the highest level. Repeated the same action as it had done the first time, the Frost Giant, lifted it's massive leg, ready to stomp on the player once more.

Battle Dice: 8 (1 Damage)

This time, the leg, had landed on Daeron's foot, just barely, as he tried to roll out of the way. The player lay flat on the ground now, in pain from the crushing sensation the game would emit towards him.

The second frost giant, now lifted it's leg again, now that the player was on the ground. Somehow, the frost giant's AI thought that it would have a 0% chance of missing, of course it didn't calculate the player having any intelligence either. So again, it lifted it's leg and began to stomp towards the player, on the ground.

Battle Dice: 3 (0 Damage)

The foot crashed into the blue ice, on the ground, but the player wasn't beneath the foot. Somehow, the player, Daeron, had managed to avoid the leg, and stand up ready for the attack, after the player who was going in for the next attack, Shade.

Shade brushed a few strands of black and red hair out of his eyes, standing up and huffing to neglect the cold air. "This time, I'm sending them straight to Hell." He spat out, as he ran forward with his toothed blade ready to strike. He slipped. Nothing more to it.

Daeron continued to avoid new attacks, and slashing, that did nothing, while watching his ally, fall multiple times in a row now. Seriously? It's just some damn ice! Is it that hard to stand on it? Also, just think of it as a fun way to travel. Ice skating is fun, and needs to put a FREAKING SMILE ON YOUR FACE! He said as he readied another attack at the first frost giant's spiderweb shattered leg.

Battle Dice: 10 + 1 = 11 (4 Damage)

Finally, the hit had sent a series of shatter points all over the leg. The leg, was beginning to fall to pieces and crumble, underneath the massive ice soldier.

The First Frost Giant, had felt the leg crumble beneath it and it's AI had recognized this as a moment of it's final seconds. Rashly thinking, the AI processed the action, to swing it's frost fist down towards the player, Daeron, who had nearly solo'd this monster the entire time. And Shade, who had fallen a numerous amount of times.

Battle Dice: 8 (1 Damage)

The attack hadn't managed to kill the player instantly, as he was high enough level to endure the hits. However, even though the player didn't die, he still went flying into one of the frost pillars that was erected from the ground up.

The second frost giant, had watched the player launch multiple feet, if not yards against a solid pillar. The second frost giant, then went in a motion, to kick the player, who was trying to recover from the damage he had taken so far. As the leg neared the player, everyone who knew what was happening, was about to watch the icy column shatter into hundreds of pieces at any given second.

Battle Dice: 3 (0 Damage)

The player, had managed to avoid the attack itself, but the foot had still connected to the column from the ground, sending frosted shards through out the air, cutting all players and familiars in the area.

Shade blinked and stepped off the ice patch he had been on. He then drew his sword and looked at the two monsters. It would be underhanded to take Daeron's kill, but, Shade was willing to go that low.

Ashe moved in, he felt something shift beneath him and he saw the ground slope downward, making Shade fall forward into snow. He lifted his snow-covered face up and huffed. "I...Hate... This...Floor..."

Daeron smiled at Shade, although he knew there wouldn't be a returning smile. Thinking about finishing this monster off, once and for all, he swung his weapon towards the leg once more, hoping the leg will crumble entirely, and the frost giant will fall and shatter into pieces entirely.

Battle Dice: 8 + 1 = 9 (2 Damage)

The weapon had collided with the monster, and it had turned from a frosted blue, into a red pixel grid, preparing to shatter into nothing, but red shards that do nothing, but award the player with the first of many ice shards.

The Second Frost Giant, watched as it's ally, had died, and shattered. The player, Daeron stood happy with the accomplishment of taking out the Giant on his own, without the aid of the clumsy player. Not caring for his gone ally, the Frost Giant, had changed to a yellow color for approximately 5 seconds, and then changed back to it's original, ice blue color. What the frost giant had done, is called in for another Giant to come to life, to aid it in combat.
