Weapons? Skills?

I read the rules and stuff multiple times, but I'm afraid I'm doing something wrong... I can't edit my original journal post, so uh... How do I get skills and my starter weapon? I'd like a basic one-handed curved sword... and... I don't really understand! Help?

As a new player, you are already given a basic weapon of your choice. Throughout your adventures, you will get more weapons and skills/ items for your character.

What if your ideal weapon isn't covered? Do you HAVE to pick something that's more or less cookie-cutter?

well if the ideal weapon is made then go to a blacksmith and have them make a custom weapon. If they do that for you then I believe you need to register it with the GMs so they can judge if it's fair or not. At least that's where I stand
