The place wasn't much to look at, but it didn't cost an arm and a leg, and it was a place where he could level his new alchemy skill and make some useful items. Maybe even make some money. Calyx skimmed over the book one last time, and then, satisfied that he had at least a rough idea of what he was going to be trying to make, Calyx laid the book off to the side and grabbed one of his crafting materials. "Here goes nothing...", he mumbled hesitantly to himself. Let's try this again. I get one more shot today." Calyx held the material in his hands and once again concentrated on the shape he willed it to take. "Let's see if you turn out to be my lucky little charm.", Calyx said as he smiled at the dragon that was looking curiously over his shoulder. The dragon merely stared at him through narrowed eyes in response. Calyx put the material in the large stone bowl in front of him, began to grind it with the accompanying large stone pestle, and awaited the results. Fat lot of good you did me...", Calyx said to the dragon in mock sadness. Lockheed no longer appear interested, and was gliding around the small tent, inspecting the other objects. Calyx proceeded to place the material in the bowl, and repeat his previous process of making a pile of useless glittering shards. Maybe alchemy had been a bad idea. If he could make it work, then in theory it would pay off one day.. it just turned out that day was not today. The dragon nearby snorted a small puff of smoke out its nose in mild amusement as it curled up on the crafting table Calyx would no longer be needing. "Yeah yeah, laugh it up. We'll see who's laughing when I don't feed you tonight." The dragon remained still, entirely undaunted by Calyx's empty threat. +1 EXP -1 Mat Link to post Share on other sites

He pulled out the medicinal herb he had recently acquired, and set it on the table in front of him. "Let's see if these are any more cooperative.", he said to no one in particular as he cupped his hands above the material and willed it to begin glowing. Calyx sighed, "Ugh. At least it didn't shatter..." "Well that's good at least, huh?", Calyx said to Lockheed, who was paying him no attention. The dragon rested at the far end of the table, idly looking out at the nearby shops and occasionally passers-by. "One more try; here we go." Calyx closed his eyes this time as he focused on the the shape of the item he wished to create. He had little hope this time of making anything, and was fully prepared for the second material to dissolve as well. Now that he had left the first floor, he was getting tired of making the journey back to Starting City every day just to waste more materials. But, he knew that eventually learning how to make potions should pay off, so he pulled out a material and got to work once again.
