Erroneous 0 Posted January 26, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2013 Rather than the "anime" logo which basically says Sword Art Online in Japanese text with American underneath it; I wanted to have the logo seen in the game itself shown here. [Hatsuyuki]_Sword_Art_Online_-_01_[10bit][1280x720][948A7737].mkv_20130125_231229.234.jpg If anyone with great illustrating skills can re-create this logo in PNG format with transparent background, we plan to use it in the header. Mythee 0 Posted January 29, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 29, 2013 If you don't also need the 10.31 thing, I could extract the Sword Art Online text and the sword? edit: On closer inspection, that's... just a blade. On both ends. I wouldn't recommend trying to hold it.
Erroneous 0 Posted February 4, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted February 4, 2013 In addition to the logo above we also need the following. Favicon Used as an icon for bookmarks and web browsers, it's an individual unique icon that separates your bookmarks into colorful and memorable icons. Image must be in ICO file format as it's the only widely used among browsers file type, the icon files can be 16×16, 32×32, 48×48, or 64×64 pixels in size, and 8-bit, 24-bit, or 32-bit in color depth. Meta-Image As the trend with social networks brought about the usefulness of Meta-Images, whenever you copy/paste a URL on lets say facebook, it generates some text and an image thumbnail. This thumbnail is referred to as the Meta-Image. It can be in full color, usually a small thumbnail size.
Namine 0 Posted February 4, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 4, 2013 Can someone on our graphics team vector art that logo and see if we can get a useable copy of it for when we get the theme set up? I tried doing it and failed miserably :/.
Guest Posted February 4, 2013 #5 Share Posted February 4, 2013 Graphics team = Nevina and I I'm not going to commit to this project, but if I have time and no one else does it, I will try.
Mythee 0 Posted February 7, 2013 #6 Share Posted February 7, 2013 It's not as nice as a vector, but it only took 10 minutes.
Namine 0 Posted February 7, 2013 #7 Share Posted February 7, 2013 Don't want it on a diagonal like that I want it straight if possible? Nice start though!
Mythee 0 Posted February 7, 2013 #8 Share Posted February 7, 2013 But it's -supposed- to be diagonal! XD Yeah, I can't make it straight without the quality being even lower, so I'd have to shrink the image even more. As mentioned before, this aint the same as vectoring. xD
Guest Posted February 7, 2013 #9 Share Posted February 7, 2013 This is Mythee's original image, but rotated... She did a really good job.
Mythee 0 Posted February 7, 2013 #10 Share Posted February 7, 2013 Hey, that turned out great! Thanks SJ 8D I thought Namine meant to have it both horizontal and at a flat angle (right now, the right side of the logo seems nearer than the left side, as if it's on a 3D plane tilted toward us. But I like it that way, it's cool.)
Guest Posted February 8, 2013 #11 Share Posted February 8, 2013 I didn't actually make any major adjustments, I just rotated it to make it straight. Which seems to be the easiest option for a logo, plus it still doesn't look bad.
Crim 0 Posted February 8, 2013 #12 Share Posted February 8, 2013 Ohh, that looks pretty good, you know, i was thinking we could do a little bit like a FF style Logo, Using the Floating Castle behind the wording. But just its outlines if that makes any since? XD if i knew how to draw it, i would
Namine 0 Posted February 8, 2013 #13 Share Posted February 8, 2013 Between SJ and Mythee you both did an excellent job. Pretty much what I wanted! You two are awesome.
Mythee 0 Posted February 8, 2013 #14 Share Posted February 8, 2013 Glad that worked out. 8'D *high fives SJ* @Crim: There's an Aincrad in this picture, but I get the feeling it's too much of a lump shape to really look good behind the logo... xD Why do I keep thinking of LSP? Edit: Oh, except if it's kept at a really big size compared to the text. Then it might look good o-o

Tokio 0 Posted February 8, 2013 #16 Share Posted February 8, 2013 I actually am quite fond of both of those with a slight preference for the bottom one.
Namine 0 Posted February 9, 2013 #17 Share Posted February 9, 2013 I actually am quite fond of both of those with a slight preference for the bottom one. Agreed.
Mythee 0 Posted February 9, 2013 #18 Share Posted February 9, 2013 I like the top one more! Also, the forum logo looks nice up there, but I can't help but feel it would be even nicer centered.
Crim 0 Posted February 9, 2013 #19 Share Posted February 9, 2013 o-o indeed, that looks pretty good next to it ^^
Erroneous 0 Posted February 14, 2013 Author #20 Share Posted February 14, 2013 If the imaged matched the colors of the forum, or if the forum matched the blues from the image; I'd be inclined to accept the Aincard version of the logo. However since this forum doesn't push to focus on "graphics-upping" the whole forum and mostly relies on text links at the moment, I think the basic Sword Art Online logo requested, edited, tilted, and being used right now works fine. And it looks easy to see on mobile devices. Plus keep in mind mobile users will want to conserve as much data as possible, therefore images with less bytes is perferred.
