Takeshi has always been considered a strange person by others. Firstly, he is an Asian-African with green eyes, giving him an excellent complexion. He has always been lazy and never had many friends. He is often considered obsessed with anime and video games though he reluctantly participates in sports due to his mother's encouragement. Takeshi only has one true friend, Yamamoto Hikuro, an avid lover of video games. When NerveGear and SAO were announced, "Yammy" was one of the first people to pre-order. However, Takeshi refused because it was "too much work." On launch day, Yammy dragged Takeshi to the game store and there were lucky enough to get one of the last 20 copies. They then made a promise to eachother to play as soo they got home.

»Virtues:

Calm.Maruzu never overreacts or freaks out when a challenge is thrown. He claims he is "too lazy to care." He rarely ever gets hot-headed allowing him to complete quests and fight others without much strain.

Giving.Maruzu will always throw himself in the line of danger for someone in trouble and will always put someone else's life before his. His sacrificial nature has landed him in many near-death situations but he always finds a way out.

Genius.Even though he is reluctant to admit it, Maruzu is a quick-thinker, if there is someone he cannot beat with pure strength, he can think of a way out of the situation. Thanks to this, he has defeated many strong players levels above him giving him a fearful reputation.

» Flaws:

Lazy.Refuses to go on quests which often leads to him not being able to get better equipment. This leads to him having to do much more work than normal to defeat a monster or opponent and often vulnerable due to having barely any armor.

Opaque.Can't take hints or understand sarcasm which often keeps him from realizing a girl likes him or not taking someone seriously. This lands him on the end of more than a few blades.

Reserved.Dislikes meeting new people and refuses to get a girlfriend (even though many girls like him) claims it is "too much work." He barely has any friends to go on quests with and cannot complete many floors because he lacks the help or team-work required.
