» About:

Hakugi Senji grew up in a strict home. His parents were perfectionists, and demanded cleanliness and order. If one thing was out of place or even moved an inch from its original position (after dusting or wiping), he would be sent to his room without dinner. His father would inspect his nails to make sure there was no dirt underneath after Senji came in from playing and would clean them if there were. He was sent to private school when he was younger in hopes that he would be able to place in the top five, but instead placed in the top twenty. His parents showed disappointment and pushed him to get better; they went as far as to hire tutors, but improvement barely showed. They put him in public school and tried again, resulting in the birth of his little sister.

Upon entering public school, it felt like a heavy burden was lifted from his shoulders. There wasn’t as much pressure to be at the top (though his parents still expected decent marks), and the students acted welcoming. He didn’t run into much problems with other students, ignoring any that tried pushing him around. The first day he had arrived there were a couple of students that had invited him to eat with them. He was quick to befriend them and often went to their house where they introduced him to video games. For the first time ever Senji asked his parents if he could get a handheld game. At first they had refused saying his grades would suffer and his mind rot. After a few days of back and forth, his parents agreed if his next report card showed that his grades improved and they stayed that way.

And improved they did. He managed to go from seventies to nineties within the weeks between and his parents came through with their promise and bought him his first game. He engrossed himself within the world of RPG filled with monsters and royalty, swords and magic. He loved every second of it and wished to be able to immerse himself into a world similar to the games he had played.

By the time Sword Art Online came out Senji had took up a couple of jobs and moved into his own apartment. He managed to save enough money to buy himself and two other friends the game. When they came over to try it out, they each went through the setup, talking excitedly about what sort of things they may be able to do, talking about roles and what professions to take up, and how many people that they could hunt down (his friends were largely into PKing). With «LINK START» they were transported into the world and from there everything turned upside down.

» Virtues:

Generous.

Glitch enjoys helping others and will go as far as buying potions or items someone needs without expecting anything in return. He’s the first person that will jump in to offer assistance. He feels happier when he knows that he managed to make a difference in someones play-through, even if it’s as little as offering a tip, some Col, or an item they really needed or wanted. He’ll go out of his way to make sure someone is doing well and treats his friends like they’re family. He cannot turn his back on those asking for help.

Obedient.

Living in a strict environment, Glitch respects people in an authoritative position knowing that he places below them in terms of skill or rank. He has great desire to please people, and following their orders is the best way he knows how. To those that he has pledge his loyalty to (either in a theatric or deep meaningful way), he will follow them without question. He’ll do a handful of things that question his morals, but he wanting the other to be pleased in him shadows over such thoughts.

Spontaneous.

With parents demanding perfection Glitch wanted to be free, even after moving away it did little to lessen their hold. He wanted to live in the moments and not think of consequences that followed. He found all this within video games, and with the full immersion, it was a perfect way to play this fantasy. When things went down hill, Glitch remained calm thinking that it was perfect even though dying in the virtual world meant the same outside of it. Though he does show restraint on certain aspects, he runs around to fulfill short-term goals he has set for himself (getting some Col-flow being the first priority.)

» Flaws:

Compulsive.

Glitch has adopted a compulsive disorder where he must pick his nails if there’s a sign of dirt or rearrange his inventory a number of times until it “feels†right. It had developed from his parent’s need for cleanliness and so he tries to make everything look neat and organized, keeping special attention to his appearance, and making sure everything has a place somewhere. If he obtains an item that he did not already have (whether through loot or trade) he’ll fiddle around with his inventory to get it back to a new perfection, regardless if he’s in the middle of talking with someone.

Obsessive.

One could say that Glitch has an obsessive need to help people. He is under the impression that if he doesn’t help than no one else will and thus does what he does. His need for everything to be organized acts as both a stress trigger (during the process) and a stress reliever (afterward). Glitch also has a fear of failure; failure to help and the failure to keep things organized. If someone tries to interrupt him during this process he’ll leave or tell them to zip it. It’s all depending on his stress level.

Pretentious.

Glitch is worried about what others think when people see him and does not want to be considered a slob or unapproachable. When he receives attention, he’ll cover it up with false modesty but underneath it all he secretly revels in it. He loves getting noticed for things. When he gives people gifts he’ll give an off mention of how much it may cost or the difficulty it took obtaining it. He’d follow it off with “it wasn’t that hard†(â€oh, it was just a level higher than I, it wasn’t that hardâ€, etc.). Glitch won’t go out of his way to look for someone, if he went to fetch something for another he expects them to come to him instead of the other way around.
