Though the "Linear" hit, it was too late to stop the kobold's skill, resulting in Hikari being hit in the face with the miner's pick while it flew behind her to where she was previously. Having taken a bit of damage, Hikari got worried as her health was almost to the yellow zone, though she was relieved to find the opponent's health was dropped even further, down to the red zone. Readying herself, Hikari dashed towards the enemy while charging her "Circle" skill, releasing it right besides the enemy.

Being slashed from the right shoulder to the left hip, the enemy split apart and exploded, vanishing in a bright blue light. Noticing the HUD, Hikari once again took the scrap into her inventory, happy that just two were left to finish this. Closing the Quest HUD, which now read 3/5 Iron Scraps, Hikari sat down and relaxed, waiting for the next miner to pass by unsuspecting. Just about two minutes later, she heard a spawning noise behind her, about three meters away. The enemy was close, she could hit it using a "Linear". Charging her sword up in a dark purple glow, Hikari charged towards the kobold, once again with the intention of splitting it in half.

Enemy combat Dice - 18 - Crit! - 1 + 1 damage

Immediately noticing the Hate generated, the enemy dodged out of the way, thrusting the point of its pick into Hikari's stomach, reducing her health to below half, into the yellow zone. "Gah.. Damn it..." Shocked and stunned from the attack, Hikari retreated back, holding her stomach. The enemy pursuing her, she quickly turned around, trying to quickly thrust her sword into the enemy in a desperation move.

Hikari - 9/15 -2HP = 7/15

Enemy Combat Dice - 18 - Crit! - 1 + 1 damage

Swiftly dodging the thrust, the kobold punched Hikari away, reducing her health down to a third. "No... Crap...!" Obviously desperate and with tears swelling up in her eyes, Hikari ran away to behind her tree, hoping it would save her once again. Sobbing now, she noticed the gash in her stomach was gone. Quickly checking her surroundings, she noticed the kobold about three feet away. "Damn it, not now! Please, not now...!" Her first quest was going horrible, she was down to a third of her health, only two materials from the end. Rushing to the enemy, she quickly jumped to its back and used "Linear", hoping she could at least parry away the next attack.

Enemy Combat Dice - 4 - Fail! - no damage

The "Linear" knocking away the enemy, as well as reducing its health down to the red zone, made Hikari quickly run away again, until the enemy was charging "Skull Cracker". Hikari started charging "Circle", hoping it would be enough to at least deflect a bit of damage. She knew she could survive one more hit, but most likely would have to fight again. She approached the kobold in a flash, releasing "Circle" immediately.

Hikari shuddered when she heard the enemy crack and explode. She looked upon the HUD, now clearly crying her eyes out, she closed it and punched the ground. "D-Damn it... why... why?!" A traumatizing experience, she noticed she was only about a third to level 7. "No... damn it..." Clutching herself, she cursed her luck and went back to laying next to the tree. The next kobold was nearby, she was hesitant, knowing that even a slight swing would cause Hate to be generated. She slowly got up to face it, eyes wide open, and immediately ran towards it, giving a desperate scream. "Hyaaa-aa...!" She attempted to slice the opponent in two once again.

Enemy Combat Dice - 8 - Fail! - no damage

As expected of a nervously performed attack, it missed the enemy completely, though, surprisingly, it didn't generate any Hate. It was a botched attack, not even a swing or a thrust, it wasn't even aimed close to the enemy. Her heart racing and eyes wet, Hikari charged her "Linear", hoping it could put an end to this in one attack.

Without even a moment to respond, the kobold's health was drained away completely, awarding Hikari with her final two Iron Scraps. "R-really...? Oh.. my.. *sniff* Finally..." As if someone took pity on her, the quest ended in this fight, right after she was almost killed. Hastily and with eyes strained from crying, Hikari quickly ran to the City of Beginnings, handing the quest in to "The Forger", receiving her tools and materials, and quickly ran to the inn, hoping this time, it was finally done. Crying again, relief set in, a smile crept up on her face. "Thank you..." She went straight to sleep, her eyes still red, both the iris and the eyelids.
