Guest Posted February 4, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2013 As in.. name of the cities on all floors? OR are we just going to call them... Floor 8 City~! So we need... 1-100 city names (which I still think us having 100 floors is too much for a RP website, but thats my opinion and another subject)

Mythee 0 Posted February 4, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 4, 2013 I like the idea of everyone having a chance to name unnamed locations. Maybe through the same process as making NPCs for everyone to use. xD
Crim 0 Posted February 4, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 4, 2013 Well, there is almost a City on every floor or a base/Player house so the way i can see this going that after every floor we unlock, we can add a new city to the topic of the Level Area and also allow members to say they bought a house on Level X once that are has been unlocked. But yea, gives it a chance to make it our own SAO by making names for new cities not noted
Guest Posted February 4, 2013 #5 Share Posted February 4, 2013 So then we shall have a mini event for un named floors for the users then.
Namine 0 Posted February 4, 2013 #6 Share Posted February 4, 2013 So then we shall have a mini event for un named floors for the users then. Care to elaborate on this? It sounds like a neat idea, but I'd like to hear some examples of mini events for this.
Erroneous 0 Posted February 4, 2013 #7 Share Posted February 4, 2013 Care to elaborate on this? It sounds like a neat idea, but I'd like to hear some examples of mini events for this. What if a person clears the floor and gets to name the next floor, sort of a "I saw it first and this is what showed up on my map".
Guest Posted February 4, 2013 #8 Share Posted February 4, 2013 What if a person clears the floor and gets to name the next floor, sort of a "I saw it first and this is what showed up on my map". ^ Something along those lines would be great, that way its also an achievement, like... going to use a Mabinogi reference, but in the game whenever a new area is released, whoever breaks the seal to get into that area gets a title "Sarasah the Seal Breaker of Balloons". So in terms of this... whoever clears the floor, gets to name the new City.
Mythee 0 Posted February 5, 2013 #9 Share Posted February 5, 2013 Sounds fair enough! When the boss finishing blow is landed by someone who would rather not name the next floor, they could just give someone else the honors of going to the next floor first! OuO
Crim 0 Posted February 5, 2013 #10 Share Posted February 5, 2013 Sounds good to me. Also, if a field doesn't have a specific area type (examples floors 4-6 have nothing) they can decided the layout of that new level?
Namine 0 Posted February 5, 2013 #11 Share Posted February 5, 2013 Sounds fine and dandy, but if we wanna stay close to the series, the floors weren't officially named. However, pet names for the floors can be determined by a player that first found the floor and the rest of the players could follow it which is essentially the same thing. So maybe the first player who gets to the floor gets to pick what nickname it gets? A nice compromise.
Crim 0 Posted February 5, 2013 #12 Share Posted February 5, 2013 I think the idea was for naming cities mainly and not the whole floor. Some floors had themes like forests of whatever and what not. So we will have to come up with a basic theme and a town name for the floors that were not mentioned in the series
Namine 0 Posted February 5, 2013 #13 Share Posted February 5, 2013 Yeah but the cities had official names if I'm not mistaken. I mean if players want to discover an area and call it "City of Angels" or something I have no problem with that, but as far as the thread title that centers around that city I'd love to keep it close to the series for immersion purposes. But I guess if that's what the GM's prefer we can try it out. I'm just trying to find a nice middle ground to this here.
Guest Posted February 6, 2013 #14 Share Posted February 6, 2013 We're talking about the cities that have no known names, as per the wiki.
Namine 0 Posted February 6, 2013 #15 Share Posted February 6, 2013 Oh my bad, no real excuse my brain just triggered something. I'm fine with that idea then of having the first one to discover it name it.
Crim 0 Posted February 6, 2013 #16 Share Posted February 6, 2013 lol its ok Nami, So looks like we are all good on Naming cities that have no name in the series?
Namine 0 Posted February 6, 2013 #17 Share Posted February 6, 2013 It goes without saying, if we find the name inappropriate, we do have the right to deny the name. You'll probably get like maybe three chances to get a suitable name? I do think people won't come up with names like Bonerville though. :P
Nevina 0 Posted February 6, 2013 #18 Share Posted February 6, 2013 Sounds like a name that you'd give to a city, Nams.. >.>
Crim 0 Posted February 6, 2013 #19 Share Posted February 6, 2013 lol yea, sounds like it. XD I was thinking more along the lines of Hell :P And there really is a town called hell ;)
Namine 0 Posted February 6, 2013 #20 Share Posted February 6, 2013 Sounds like a name that you'd give to a city, Nams.. >.> Hey Bonerville was my fastest megaopolis in Sim City 2000! Don't knock it!
