[OP-F1] Generic Beginning, Maybe

Recommended Posts

~What the hell is with this place? One second I'm enjoying some random monster slaughter next I'm being told I can't leave, now I look just like I do in real life.~

Kaizer would brush a hand under his chin as he stalked the exit to the town getting ready to leave try and find his friends. He was checking over his equipment, your basic boring beginner stuff. Green color coding for sure, and a basic spear. His blond hair spiked with gel, his blue eyes focused on his equipment screen, his brows scrunched down as if he were angry. Cause lets face it, the man really was.

"Think they can tell me what to do, tch. Find my friends and then we'll see who is stuck in here."

Yeah he liked the feel of the spear. Good reach, good flexible attacks. Felt right.

~I'm not scared of leaving, but what if Amtrum, or Rai are in town?~

A loud piercing whistle ripped through the air as Amtrum waved toward his friend. He felt like he had been looking for him for hours. They hadn't had a chance to meet up before the announcement and he didn't know the name that Leon had chosen for his character. One good thing about everyone looking like themselves though was that it made it possible to find his old friend.

"Yo! What's up you ugly jerk!?"

He called out as he jumped down from the ledge he had been on scanning around for any familiar face. Landing in a crouch in front of Leon he looked at the character name over head with a tilt of his head. Not one of his normal names. Who would have known.

"Kaizer? That's a new one."

He held out his hand.

"Glad to see you're still around buddy."

Rai would have done the same as Kaizer and looked through his equipment noting the dagger he had and move on, he was concerned and unsure as to what he should do when he heard a familiar loud sharp whistle.

Turning around he would see not only Mathew, but Leon as well, now supporting the titles of Amtrum, and Kaizer. Huh, thats new. Totally gonna keep calling him Leon.

Rai would walk towards his old friends.

"Yo!"

He would call out.

"Sup, losers?"

Rai chuckled as he got closer to them.

Kaizer would hear the whistle and reach for the spear, though when he recognized it he'd crack a grin as Amtrum dropped down commenting on his new name.

"Yeah well at least I'm not as arrogant as to just put my name up."

Then Rai would walk over and Kaizer would sigh deeply.

"Speaking of arrogant. The both of ya."

Leon however would chuckle.

"Its good to see you two havn't died from me not being around like you probably would have."

"Hey. Nothing wrong with knowing that you are hot stuff."

He teased with a wink. Patting the sword on his hip. He was awesome and he knew it. Real life and online. And there was nothing wrong with using your name for your character name! A lot of people did that. Or he assumed anyways.

"Oh yeah, says the level one. Don't worry. I'll protect you."

He said nudging his friend with a chuckle.

Rai just shook his head laughing.

"You two never did change. Man its good to see y'all again though, granted, I wish it was under better circumstances."

Rai would look around to see if anyone else they knew was around.

"So whats the plan guys, we gonna take over this joint or are y'all planning on sittin around and letting some other fella to win this game?"

Rai looked between the two already knowing the answer, but he still had to ask, just to see their reaction.

"Doesn't change the fact you probably would of died."

Kaizer would brush a hand through his hair as he looked to Rai.

"That's up to Amtrum, I don't much care. Though I will say these are the best circumstances. Threat of death along with freedom to roam around and battle monsters physically... I'm going to have fun here."

Kaizer had gotten a little darker over the years.

"Look around. Most people here are terrified. A lot of people have already given up. I wager the vast majority of players will be huddling in the safe zones. If we are going to clear the game we are going to need to get strong. But we will need to be organized. And we will need more than just us three."

He folded his arms. It was an ugly situation. But at least he wasn't alone for this. That would have been really horrible. But they could do it. They didn't have a choice.

"First thing is first. Let's add each other as friends. This way we can always get ahold of each other. Plus..."

He frowned.

"If one of us dies then we can tell that too."

He pulled up his menu sending both of them friend requests.

Rai would accept the friend request and send one to Leon as well.

"Indeed tis a good idea. So we're definitely going to have to get stronger but how? Like any other game we just go and attack mass minions until we are strong enough to move on, or what? Got any ideas going on in that head of yours Amtrum?"

Rai would pick up his dagger out of his equipment and start fiddling with it while he was speaking, eventually just using it to clean his finger nails.

Kaizer would accept the friends requests from both of them, and send out a party invite.

"We probably need to hit some trash mobs, minor events, and some boss dungeons. I'd suspect we should probably follow the main quests for any quick exp. Unless you know something we don't."

Kaizer would look to Amtrum expectantly of some other strategy, but that had been the usual strategy from his experience with other MMO's, however this wasn't your usual MMO.

"Well... About that."

It's what he had thought at first too. But after a little poking around it seemed some things might be a bit more challenging than that.

"A lot of quests are finite. Meaning once they are done, then they are done. At least for a long while or something. I don't know if they respawn or what. But it sounds like it might be a finite resource. Perhaps to keep people from just staying on the low levels to level slowly but safely? But we might need to move quick if we want to get ahead of the curb."

But it was also pretty dangerous out there. He thought back to his encounters with the wolves.

"The combat is a bit more challenging then we are used to as well. So we will want to be careful. And we certainly don't want to boss rush. Remember, we can't wipe a few times and learn the strats. We die and we are gone for good. You know?"

Rai would stay silent as he listened to Mathew's explanation. Shaking his head.

"Well damn man. Sounds like this game is a little bit more advanced than what we're used to Leon."

Rai would put away his dagger and crack his neck.

"So what are we still standing around here for? Lets get to it guys. I'm ready, Leon?"

"Alright, well if its that difficult we should start with learning the battle system, make sure we get comfortable with that enough to move on. Find some low quests that hopefully haven't been snatched yet."

Kaizer held hope enough that there may actually be something for them to do, hopefully some simple repeatable tutorial or something.

"I can help you with the basics of the battle system. I've already had a few fights. I think I have the hang of it. At least the basics of it. Come on, let's head out and hit some boars and wolves. Nothing too interesting outside the walls. But exp is exp."

He said, motioning for them to follow him out of the city to the field outside. Pointing out some of the boar herds he had found while he was looking for them outside. It was peaceful out. Not a lot of people here yet, most people were still panicking or whatever he figured.

"So you need to keep your eye on your hit points. To use a sword skill you want to bring your weapon back like so."

He said demonstrating until his blade turned blue before it lunged forward.

"You guys give it a try a few times. Once you get the hang of it I'll party invite you and we can kill some beasts."

Rai would follow Amtrum and Kaizer to the field. Then upon Amtrum's instruction would pull out his dagger and do as he was told. Doing what was called a "Sword skill" apparently, his dagger glowing blue after a few attempts getting the form right. He would use it a few more times till he was comfortable and nod to himself.

"So that good enough?"

Then he would turn to check out Leon's progress.

Leon would draw his spear after watching Amtrum, he'd take a peak at Rai, then pull back the spear, before it began glowing a bright green, letting it thrust forward....

"Daddy likes."

He'd do it a few more times adding motion, blocks and simple attacks.

"Daddy likes a lot."

He grinned. Sending both of them party invites. His team was becoming assembled. It was only a matter of time until they started clearing bosses and leading the charge. He didn't know if there were guilds already doing that. He hoped so, but if not then they would be the first. And if so then they would join them and work toward everyone's united goal. Getting out of this death game.

Once they were in the party he would point to the boars once more. Leading the way casually down there. He wasn't too worried about boars with the group of them there. They should have it in the bag.

"Alright, you guys take out that boar. I'll jump in if you need it."

He said with a thumbs up!

Kaizer would pull back the spear like before get in a good controlled charge and thrust once he was square up with the Boar.

He wasn't so sure how this system worked, but he was sure going to enjoy the journey.

His spear would stab right into the chest of the Boar, Leon would dash passed the Boar in a trail of Green ripping the spear through the Boar.

"Come on Rai! Focus! Let the strike guide you."

He cheered them on from the sidelines. They were doing just fine so far. No need for him to step in yet. But he drew his sword just in case. He didn't want to be caught unprepared if they were suddenly overwhelmed. Things could change very quickly. He knew that first hand.

"Good job Leon! Hit it again!"
