[SP-F2/F3] Taking the Dungeon on Her Own

Recommended Posts

Oske stood outside the entrance of the dungeon that led to floor three. She was nervous, not being with her "quest buddy." She usually took Rage with her on missions. However, she didn't want to drag him down. This time, she was going to be the one to take down the monsters. She knew she could make it without him.

Or, at least... she hoped...

As Oske walked in, an icy looking humanoid monster spawned. She quickly raised her Butterfly Blade, charging at it and shouting, "Double Slash!"

Not much to her surprise, she sliced through the monster. However, despite the pulsing red lines, it wasn't dead. The monster raised its large fist, slamming it down toward Oske's head. She gasped and rolled to the side.

Oske then jumped forward and attempted a new move she had been trying to make a Sword Skill. She curved upward, then slashed down twice.

She gasped and smiled as the monster burst, and a message popped up before her. "Yay! Crescent Cross!" she exclaimed happily. She looked for any loot in the message, but... there was none. "Aww."

Oske then broke into a run, heading toward a safe zone. She had gotten a map from an information broker, which she had memorized. As she ran, another icy humanoid monster appears. She swiped to make a crescent cross and successfully slashed the monster to bits. She paused to check the message, then smiled. "Two more ice shards. Awesome!"

Oske skidded to a halt when she got to the safe zone. "I haven't taken any damage yet! This is great!" She then ran out of the safe zone, running down the dimly lit halls. A strange, animal-like ice monster spawned. She unsheathed her sword, and unleashed a double slash. It was a critical hit. The monster exploded into shards, and she looked at the message. "Ice Boar Tusk? Weird..."

As Oske was checking her inventory to see her new item, an icy skeletal monster appeared. She gasped, slashing her sword in a reaver motion. She missed, nearly dropping her sword as she hyper-extended her arm. "C-crap!" she gasped. The skeletal monster removed its left arm to form a sword, stabbing at her exposed shoulder.

Oske then slashed with her aching arm, trying to hit the monster. She sliced at the ribcage area, and successfully hit it without unlocking a sword skill. The monster then dug the weapon deeper into her shoulder. "Aaugh..." she breathed. Even though there was no pain in this world, she could feel it.

Oske felt her life slowly slipping away. Her heart started to race, and she watched as her health bar went down. She closed her eyes, the health bar in the corner of the darkness beneath her eyelids.

"NO!!" Oske ripped the sword out of her shoulder and stabbed the monster, killing it instantly. She didn't get any loot, which wasn't a surprise. She then ran as fast as her weak body could carry her to a safe spot, sitting there and waiting for herself to heal.

As soon as Oske walked out of the safezone, she was attacked by two monsters. They quickly stole a little less than half of her health.

"No..." Oske stuttered, drawing her sword and holding it in front of her face, ready to defend herself.
