» About: Shortly after his birth, Ryouhei Takeshi lost both of his parents in a fatal car accident, leaving his older brother, Kagami Takeshi to fend for the both of them. Since he could walk, Ryouhei has had a fascination with video games. Through his early adolescence, Ryouhei was accustomed to watching his older brother, Kagami, play several different games. When he was finally old enough to understand what was happening in the games, Kagami invited his little brother to play with him. They played many different kinds of games together. Ryouhei began to surpass his brother in skill as years went on, and he had an air of extreme self-confidence because of it. Ryouhei was also very indecisive about the games he liked. He was never really able to focus on one game. He began purchasing game after game, looking for one he could pour his passion into. He was unable to locate a game like this until he found Sword Art Online. He was amazed by the virtual reality graphics, so he applied for beta. After failing to get a beta key, he went on with his life. He met a girl at his school named Mio Shinju, a girl that he quickly realized he had feelings for. They began to spend more time together, and more importantly, game together. Mio learned from Ryouhei about SAO and decided that she would also invest in it. The day the game came out, Ryouhei, Kagami, and Mio began to explore the first floor of the ever-expansive Aincrad. After the terrible news that they would be trapped there until the game was complete, Mio became frightened and ran off into the Town of Beginnings with Ryouhei in pursuit. After failing to find her, he had also lost his brother in the paranoia. He attempted to contact both of them via private message, but neither of them responded. Staying positive and refusing to look at the Monument of Life, Ryouhei vowed to singlehandedly complete the game if he had to, in order to avenge the loss of his brother and girlfriend. He began training and questing every day to become strong enough in order to join the front lines and try to escape the death game known as Sword Art Online...

Ryouhei looks up to his brother and respects him more than anyone else. He always looks out for his family before even himself and would do anything to get back to Kagami.

. Willing to assist others with anything they need

After taking care of family matters, Ryouhei looks out for the common man. Even if it's something as simple as opening a door or helping carry heavy objects, he loves to help others.

. Punctual

Ryouhei's philosophy is "If I'm not 15 minutes early, I'm late." He always makes sure that he's early no matter where he has to be. If he isn't, it drives him crazy.

. Overconfident in video games

Ryouhei has always been a bit full of himself in video games. He believes that he is the best at all games, and he isn't afraid to try and prove himself.

. Obsessive (finding his loved ones)

After the loss of the two people closest to him, Ryouhei has started to obsess over finding them again. He is willing to go to any length to try and find Mio and Kagami.

. Highly self-critical

Ryouhei sometimes hates himself. If he makes a mistake, he is very harsh on himself. He blames himself almost every day that he lost the people he loved and curses himself almost every night for their loss.

»After losing his brother and "girlfriend," Ryouhei has made a promise that he would complete the game in honor of the two of them. He has started to train in order to become stronger so that he can complete this Death Game.
