All but three perished during the battle, and Hami lost a leg. Due to his injuries, he was forced to leave SANDF. He returned home, where his parents cared for him while he recovered. His career was over. Hami had never been a gamer, but always had an interest in MMOs. He was 30 when Sword Art Online was released, and purchased a copy for himself.
