[BR-F27] Paving the Way to Floor 28 [Team Nari-Lanreth]

Even as she rolled her eyes skyward, feigning exasperation, she felt the small laugh bubble up from her core. Even in the face of danger, and a situation as stressful as a boss fight, Jomei could lift her spirits. That was one of the many things that she liked about him. "Just alright," she echoed, giving a toss of her blonde hair. As it tumbled down her back, she cocked an eyebrow in the ginger's direction. "That feels like a challenge." She watched the man charge the dragon, spearing it with his skinny blade before dancing back out of harm's way. Then she flashed a smile, narrowed her eyes into blue slits, and declared, "Challenge accepted."

Whether or not she could actually deal more damage than the Emerald Duelist, she couldn't be sure. She was built for stocking up power, while he was quick on his feet, and capable of dealing devastating single blows. Could she manage an equally impressive one-off attack? Only one way to find out.

As Jomei returned to her side, Lessa sprang forward, closing the distance to the boss with game-assisted speed. She hacked like she was splitting logs, balancing the golden sword over her head before letting it drop. It skittered across the hard scales, but still left a faint red trail behind. That had to mean something, right?

They yet lived.

It was an act nothing short of miraculous, surely, that they could persist in opposition to Wushen. The Dragon could not conceive of a reality where such brazen defiance would happen, and yet, here such a thing unfolded before its very eyes. It was enough to draw Wushen's gaze into focus, to pull the creature backward from liminal infinity and draw its consciousness from the void.

For the first time, Wushen opened its maw wide, and a blasphemous sound came forth. It was quiet at first, so much so that if Nari and her compatriots listened even closely, they might not have heard. But as it grew, it became almost pleasant, rapturous, brimming with vitality. It continued to reach new heights, warping, twisting from the angelic harmony to a wretched, wailing cry. Agony at the basardization of life that had been forced on Wushen. Anguish at having to watch as the farce dragged on. Despair that was only staved off by the sheer hope that it would succeed in its duty.

It grew so loud, so unbearable, that within the range of that hideous yawn, they might mistake it for rage.

The Dragon tired of their resistance. 

It raised up, towering over them, undulating in the air and it compressed time and space, severing the threads around the Frontliners. Gravity began to exacerbate, tearing at the edges of Lessa's person, seeking to send her face first into the ground.

They would be made to kneel before they were summarily unmade.

Yet they still stood, defiant, despite the dragon's attempts to dismantle their annoying assault. The second wave of attacks almost depleted the foe's second health bar, changing it green hue to a red shade. The loud shout that came with its attack was more of a hassle that made the blonde squint her eyes and grit her teeth. "What a unpleasant thing.." she muttered as she readied her weapon once more. A quick glance behind revealed that the rest of the parties were doing fairly well so far, she could even spot some smiles throughout the battlefield. 'So far, so good'

Readying her weapon once more, she would check to her side to make sure her companion was ready to strike in tandem with her. However in that moment, she would be reminded that Kimba remained back at the estate. A small click oh her tongue let out a displeased 'tsk' as Ariel once more slashed at the boss' visible neck.

The push was still going strong, and Nari could see as those around her were giving everything they had in order to try and bring the beast down. They'd already made a sizeable slash into it's health bars, but Nari couldn't help but feel like there was more to this. That they were only just getting truly started on the fight as a whole. A gnawing feeling in her gut told her that they needed to be patient, to maintain control, and not to let things get too far out of control for them. 

"Jomei, Vigilon, Lessa, focus on striking with as much power as you can. If you can hit it with any sort of Delay, or maybe a Shatter effect, that may be beneficial!" She turned to face the creature, considering her own actions. She didn't need to burn through her own energy yet - she'd need that, given enough time here - but she also wasn't sure what else to do. Sighing, speaking softly to herself, she stepped forwards again. "I can at least try and hold your attention, I guess..."

There was little else that Nari could see as being useful, so she strode forwards and slammed the tip of her spear into the large wyrm's body, hoping that she would at least be able to turn it's gaze back to her. Gritting her teeth, she called out to those around her once more, hoping they would hear her. "And whatever you do...try not to draw it's focus onto you, if you can avoid it..."

             So far, there was only constant whaling against the boss, simply hitting it until the players could get somewhere. The raid was already almost a third of the way there, and something seemed off...

                 "It's too easy..." Vigilon thought aloud. "Something's not right..."
       But what could he do, really? Other than make use of the offensive opportunity that was his most powerful Sword Art being ready once again, there really wasn't anything he could do about the situation. Something wasn't right, it had to have a trick up its sleeve...maybe it was waiting for the players to get overconfident? Could there be something else that the players haven't been up against yet? So far, this was nothing like the other fights he'd faced before, but not in the way he initially expected. "There's no way it's that easy, it can't be that easy..."

          Despite his thoughts and doubts, he activated his sword art anyway. Fallen energy coursed through his blade, surging into every slash, hack, and cleave at the boss, ending his sword art with another focused blow that practically ignited the others in a major burst of the weapon's fell energy. Might as well keep this up, since the players were making progress.

                      Krysta watched, but she knew little of how longer she could just...stand there. "I should be fighting alongside them." She thought. The temptation was strong, fueled by her desire to help, and to slay the evil that sought only destruction. She often fought. She wanted to fight. She wanted so desperately to fight. She couldn't just sit here and be unhelpful, without purpose. She needed to do something, it was becoming an itch she had trouble staving off. Her hands shook, her breath no longer had a calm pace. She had to do something, she just had to. She couldn't bear to just stand on the sidelines, that's not what leaders, nor future leaders are supposed to do! She needed to get involved, she had to contribute somehow!

             So then why did this scenario look like one where she could simply draw her weapon and fight? The option was there in plain sight, and she wanted to do it so badly... She couldn't possibly just leave them to it without any help from her! Aside from the initial barrier, she had done nothing for this entire battle. Nothing! "I should be fighting alongside them...I want to help, I want to fight, I want to fight, I want to fight, I need to fight, I need to fight, I need to fight..." She thought as her right hand's shaking intensified. She did not know how much longer she could hold out.

[Lessa 1]

The world tilted, and with a shriek, Lessa stumbled forward. Her boots slipped across the pebble-riddled battlefield, and though her arms pinwheeled, she could not find her balance. With the clang of armor, and an altogether unladylike grunt, the Guardian crashed to her knees. Even that did not provide the necessary balance, and she continued to pitch forward, coming to rest with her hands supporting her upper body. "Ouch," she ground out, though a glance at her health bar showed only a small chunk gone. Still, a small chunk was far worse than no chunk at all.

As she climbed to her feet, Riker bounded over, his stardust eyes wide and searching. The wolf nuzzled her arm, then wound himself between her legs until she patted his side. "I'm fine," she assured him, though her fingers itched to fish out a healing crystal. Not yet, her logical side insisted, but she still hated the idea that she'd taken any damage at all. Just that much closer to having all of my health depleted.

With a firm shake of her head, Lessa rid herself of such thoughts. "Taking damage is a part of the game," she muttered under her breath, as if to scold herself for the unnecessary anxiety. Imagine how tanks feel.

Rolling her shoulders, Lessa once again faced Wushen. "That wasn't nice," she called out to him, already pumping power into her massive sword. "Now it's my turn."

Bounding toward the floaty snake, she made the split-second decision to bring out the big guns. Energy preservation had been her game plan, but Wushen deserved a good smack after that last attack. He totally started it, after all.

Light drawn into darkness cast no shadows in the presence of the Elemental Warlord. Instead, everything traveled back to him, like a river subjugated to flow in reverse. Something had cracked, somewhere in space and time, and the fault lines were shifting rapidly. The room had not shifted, and yet, all of them suddenly had.

Where Wushen once floated in the air above them, their best efforts resulting in lunging attacks and charges that buffeted against his scales like water on rock, now their sense of direction was wrong.

Wushen was not above them, but below. Or was he within? All around? Perception stalled as soft words permeated the room, filling the ears of the Players with nonsensical sentiment.

“You lot don’t contribute either.”

The voice did not belong to anyone present; nor did it seem to come from the Draconic beast. It seemed to rise up and return to nowhere, awash in a sea of nothingness.

“And those nobles sure as hell aren’t getting any of our food. It’ll go to the tradesmen, the farmers, and the soldiers - those who have actually earned it.”

And so blew the black wind. The soft, eerie whispers that wafted through the boss room erupted into ear-shattering screams. Some unseen entity's rage fanned the flames, and the seal that maintained Wushen's ennui shattered.

The dream that sustained the ancient atrocity ended.

He was awake at last.

Where was that aid?

Nowhere.

Where were you after Srona’s fire?

Nowhere.

Hell, maybe you set it all up!

Yesss….

It’s every man for himself now.

Wushen's eyes fixated on them at last, the fools brave- or perhaps stupid- enough to face him directly, in this place where it all began, and where it would finally end.

All of them, beneath contempt- and at last, divided, they would fall.

The screaming twisted into booming thunder as brilliant flashes of silvery light rained down around them, a tempest of blades released from the Titan. Flesh was shorn. Blood splattered. Gaping wounds opened, and the gnashing of teeth resounded as the hunger of a god was visited upon them.

                             Krysta noticed something was off, just as everything began to take a turn for the worse. Something stirred in the air of the boss room as the voices echoed from seemingly nowhere. This air began to reek of animosity, and based on the change of expression and attitude, it would seem that something had lit up within the monster's mind...

                 It had only been mentally asleep. Now it was awake.

       A storm of bladed metal was unleashed upon Krysta and her party. The antidotes had done well to protect the party, save for two individuals who lacked the effects. Krysta remembered why she was here. Drawing her blade was merely a contingency, she had to save her energy for times like these. She made her way over to the blonde among the inflicted, for her defenses were not as strong as the Tank's, and therefore could take less hits. "Over here!" She called out as she made her way over to the injured, afflicted player. 

                     She rubbed her hands together, and she took a deep breath. Her hands began to glow a soft violet as she exhaled, then she placed them upon the player. The soft violet luminosity flowed and moved as though it were water, spreading all over Ariel's body. The tingling from the afflictions were replaced with a soothing sensation that quickly settled over the entirety of the player, and the marks that were indicators and evidence of the ailments and afflictions closed up. Krysta kept her hands upon Ariel for ten seconds more, before slowly removing them. The soft glow remained with the player, despite the fact that this light would soon inevitably fade. "There, that should keep you from taking too much damage." She noted. If the players were lights to clash against the darkness, then Krysta would be the light that kept the others from fading.

It all took place in a matter of seconds. Wushen took its focus off of Nari, shifting it instead to Lessa. It was such a strange tactic they had not seen much before, but the tanks were only providing so much assistance, and the elemental warlord was able to pull its attention away for short moments to strike the players that were the real threat to its existence. And this time, it wanted to put down Lessa. 

As it's attack crashed into the blonde's armored body, Jomei felt his knees lock, his feet almost appearing to become cemented into the ground. It wasn't a heavy hit, no where near anything fatal, but for that quick second, his heart sank. Moments later, he was taking damage himself, pulling him back to reality. "Shit." he cursed under his breath as he was hit with an array of sharp attacks that tore away at his long coat and health. Time for a bit of payback.

The duelist readied his blade, igniting with a small spark at the handguard and running up to the tip of the blade. A golden, holy flame engulfed the dark steel of the rapier. 

In a dance of precision and daring, the rapier's slender blade cuts through the air with an almost ethereal grace. Gleaming in the light, the weapon's edge carries the promise of swift and lethal precision as it approaches the immense form of The Elemental Warlord.

As the rapier's tip nears, the wielder's movements become an intricate display of skill and focus. The blade darts forward like a striking viper, seeking out the wyrm's chink in its formidable armor. The air hums with tension as metal meets scales, producing a resonant clash that echoes through the battlefield.

The rapier's point finds its mark—a pinpoint breach in Wushen's otherwise impenetrable defense. The blade pierces the boss' hide, its masterful wielder navigating the space between the armored plates with preternatural finesse. The rapier's touch is swift and precise, a testament to the finesse of the swordsman.

Voices began to circle the boss room, nonsense begun to reach her ears, earning audible 'haaa?' from the blonde with a slightly annoyed expression. Soon enough her features would change from annoyance to surprise, as the dragon finally made a serious move against them. It would look at them in contempt and moments later, brilliant flashes would signal the boss' attack onto them. Like a rain of arrows from a well known movie scene, it all came pouring down upon them.

As best as she tried, she didn't walk away unscratched, as they were fighting on a open field with little to no cover: "Kuso.." she muttered. Her first instinct, to pull the 'shield' item from her inventory but Ariel reconsidered almost as fast. The slim saya was designed to help her deflect hits and counter, not to shield from arrows or any type of wide area effect. Gritting her teeth, she covered her face by instinct with her forearm and took the attacks head on. Luckily it didn't last long and didn't seem to do as much damage as she expected.

Seconds later, she heard the beckoning of their party's designated healer and answered her call. A little bit hesitant, Ariel nodded and accepted the treatment doing her best to follow the fight's course from a still position. It felt nice, not only Krysta's touch but the whole period of the skill cast. "Thank you!" looking up she noticed her name "Krysta..." she added sincerely as she noticed the new status icons disappear. Looking at her free hand, she smiled at the glowing effect and balled it into a fist before it completely dissipated. "I'll make sure to not give you too much trouble in the future." she added with a confident smile as she readied for her next attack...

Ariel already felt her blood rushing as her spartan cape reacted to the attack, she would rise up to her full height and adjust her grip on ≪Nihilim’s Wrath≫. It could be her imagination but the blade seemed to react to its dragon kin's awakening. The black conflagration coating the blade's edge was a plausible indicative that it wanted more of the dragon's blood. And who was she to deny it, she wanted a measurement of revenge as well, for the earlier attack. Ariel began charging at the boss, the system assist already predicting and aiding in reaching her destination as much as it could. She would try to go as far as to the dragon's face and leave a large laceration at least across one of its now opened eyes.

                         Vigilon knew that this couldn't possibly be all the boss had, but oh, how he wished he didn't jinx it by asking...

   First came the words. They weren't from the Players, nor were they from the boss...and yet, the words seemed to fuel the boss, and the beast within awakened. The Party Mina was in was set alight by fire, electricity surged against NIGHT's Team, and the Party Vigilon was in got pelted with a storm of bladed metal. Three of the wedges in the Antidote Buff mark above Vigilon's HP bar were gone, there was only one charge left. The whole party had taken a hit, and Vigilon had a feeling that things were going to worsen if something wasn't done soon.

               Vigilon took a short moment to think while Krysta was tending to the wounds of a party member. He began to connect some dots around the thoughts of his mind. What was it that he was facing? What was Vigilon? What kind of power resided within this monster? What kind of power resided within Vigilon?

         As Vigilon looked to the demeanor of other players in the room, he began to wonder, even if hearts can have the same goal or need, could they still be different or comparable to other things? Vigilon was indeed a human with a human soul...but, perhaps, he was, indeed, as few claimed, a dragonhearted young man with a silver soul.

      The dragonhearted player got up, ready to make his next move. He held a firm grip on his weapon as he readied a charge attack. Flames and a dark energy enveloped the blade of his weapon as he made his way to the boss. It was time to show it that it was not the only dragon in the room.
              Vigilon rushed as far and high up as he could, the power building up in his weapon as he did so. He could feel the heat within, waiting impatiently to wreak havoc and destruction upon his foe. When the time was right, he unleashed his sword art, with fire blasting out from his weapon like a dragon's flame. The translated name of Kyrkuran was "Dragonfire", after all. Dark power from the blade set a blight upon Wushen, replenishing the blight effect. As he finished the sword art, there was another burst of power, laced with fire and dark energies. "If you're going to fight with all your power," Vigilon began as he kept his gaze on his foe. "Then I will do the same and fight with all of mine."

Pain ripped over Nari's body - not pain caused by the system, but her own mind's understanding that there should be pain. She hated these seconds, where she knew that she was imagining it - at least to a degree - but it still occurred. She found herself gritting her teeth in response, unable to do anything but suffer through the few moments it would take in order for the pain to pass. It was far from ideal, in any sense of the word, and she when she was able to clear her head again she found that those around her had already continued their assault against the large wyrm. 

A testament to their own desires to see this through. Not desiring to be left behind, Nari moved up towards the creature once more, checking her own displays and making sure that she hadn't been placed into a dangerous area. She figured it was safe to consider her next motion, and called upon the skill even as she called out to the others.

"I'm going to try and hold it's focus, everyone else do what you can to bring it down!" She turned her attention towards the wyrm, raising her spear into the air and pointing it towards the ceiling she hadn't bothered to look for. "Come, oh great beast who spits fire, flare and hatred into the air! Face the wrath of Morrighan's chosen, so that you may - in this time of end - meet your demise! We will not be stomped, beaten, burned or left cast aside! We will triumph over something as pitiful as you, your pride swallowed by the righteousness of our cause!"

Lessa’s heart leapt to her throat as the boss dealt a devestating blow. All around her, Players stumbled backward, and status effects cropped up all over. Had every single person on the Frontlines taken damage at the same time?

As the woman scanned the joined Players, her gaze snagged on Alkor, and the breath was torn from her lungs. If he felt her gaze on him, he gave no indication, but the damage was already done. Memories of her best friend’s death crashed into her, an attack far more deadly than anything Wushen was capable of.

Fear that she’d thought she’d rid herself of now banged on her mental barrier, demanding to be let in, and given attention once more. She gave in, immediately summoning her HUD, and producing a mass healing crystal. It wouldn’t heal everyone, but if she could prevent even one more death, she had to try.

A surge of outrage rang the chamber, as the vocal decree of annihilation bled from the commander of the elements. The wave washed over all present as the ground quivered. These tiny specks that speckled the stone beneath its once held prison, sharpening knives on its tough hide and gaining little purchase.

Wushen's eyes flare in disgust, the sky began to darken. The air began to swell, feeling the potent presence of the beast. The cacophony of words continued to bounce off the walls, as even still the shackles to its prison continued to shatter. There were a few noteworthy phrases that stuck out among the overwhelming chattering and discourse:

"I just don’t think they contribute as much"

     “You don’t feel it necessary to defend me"

          "I don't want chaos"

               "I gotta stand for them before anyone else."

                    "This is a trust issue."

Through division they fall, and through their inaction all life would end. The massive maw of Wushen opens and reveals the glowing sun within, as the spheres above its massive stature begin to seek its gullet. Blooming from its side are seeming translucent apparitions sporting Wushen's mantle. A glistening cascade of crystal-clear water begins to trickle from the tightly-knit spaces between Wushen's scales. An enigmatic force takes hold of the water, bending it into unnatural paths and giving birth to a turbulent whirlpool. Within this swirling mass, sparks of yellow energy ignite, playfully dancing and leaping from the core of the vortex. Like a mesmerizing apparition, an illusory image of a dragon emerges, its entire form crafted from flowing, ethereal blue energy. This spectral dragon mimics Wushen's physical shape, adding yet another head to the fearsome creature. As this translucent, secondary head of the mighty Lord makes itself known, the water that spawned it spills onto the cavern floor, creating a long channel between each grouping of players. 

Glowing yellow eyes pulsate with electric energy, filling the air with an electrifying charge that causes the hairs on the back of the players' necks to stand on end. With a deafening roar that reverberates like rolling thunder, the air around the players becomes incredibly cold within an instant. The streams of water stretching out from Wushen begin to lighten, and freeze, before building upwards and creating thick walls of ice the split off the groups from each other.  Slowly, the head retracts, with what could only be assumes to be a smile on its face.. as it prepares the players for a fight unlike they have ever faced.

<<Cordoned Room>> Activated!

Concealed behind an opaque wall of ice that hid Wushen behind its splendor, players would notice to their sides that the other teams were gone behind these barriers. Stuck in isolation, no one to save them but their teams. 

Punching through that barricade, revealed the beast that would deal with their insurrection. An all too familiar face emerges from behind the walls of ice. The icy blue form of Novalite looks down on its next targets, bolts of electric energy sparking and lashing out, teasing the players by crashing into the ground at their feet.

Petty:

• Using [Delay] sword arts (Does not stack) will reduce the next BD 9-10 effect that a head will produce to BD:10 only, making a BD: 9 a normal attack.
• In addition, a player using a Mass Healing Crystal without any hatred generation skills/enhancements gain +2 Hatred.
• BD 9-10, Applies Keen 3 and Focus to Wushen, Brimstone, Caustic, Novalite, Serration, Overgrowth

Beyond Care:

• Each round at the start of the bosses turn before its post action, the highest hate from each group decays by -1. In the event of a draw then this ability targets the player that has any hatred generation skills/enhancements. If none is present it will be the last player to generate hatred outside of attacking.
• In addition, every successful attack made against the player with the highest hate by Wushen directly reduces their hatred by -2

Larger than Life:

• DoT’s last half as long.
• Wushen is immune to disables. However, when a Disable is applied, DoT effects applied in the same round will last their full duration. This also breaks Wushen's concealment on his HP Bars
• Enhancement effects that match the element of a head are ineffective. Please see the head in question to see what enhancements it matches. 

Gridlock: When reaching 50% of its total HP, further damage is ignored until it transitions to phase 2. Transitioning to phase 2 consumes its post action.

Multi-Faceted:
During Phase 2, A number of different heads will cycle to each available party. One of the following heads will become targetable by a team: Brimstone, Caustic, Novalite, Serration, Overgrowth. If this head is felled, but any other remain standing it will become Flailing. These heads utilize Wushen's hatred values. The total HP of Wushen are shared with Heads, destroying one of the heads deals its full maximum to Wushen when felled.

Cauterize:
After a head enters the Flailing state where it cannot be targeted except by healing effects, it remains at 0 HP. Using the First Aid skill or a healing item directly targeting (No Mass Heals/Field Medic target a specific creature) it will close off the wound and stop it from attacking temporarily. Using these effects on a Flailing head does not restore the bosses HP.

Cordoned Room:
During Phase 2, The entire chamber will be closed off in sections using ice isolating the parties from interacting with heads not within their reach. This barrier can be conversed through but cannot be passed. Once a party's head (Brimstone, Caustic, Novalite, Serration, Overgrowth) has been felled, players can as a post action begin to work to lower the barrier. Burning holes through the ice walls in some way by obtaining a combined LD total of 15 will melt them. Only LD bonuses from the following apply:

• Nimble Addon
• Searching Skill
• Scouting Familiar Skill

This action must be done to continue to attack the body by each party once the head has been destroyed.

Total Destruction:

• When all spawned heads are felled, the boss will attempt to regenerate them as a post action.
• In addition, Cordoned Room will be re-activated

She watched as the creature seemed to swath itself in an aura of venom and hatred. Nari couldn't help but notice that they'd managed to successfully assault the form of the creature without any major issues - a sign that things seemed to be going well. We've got this. Just need to keep up the initiati- Her thoughts died in her head as the sounds of voices, unfamiliar and somehow both loud and quiet at the same time, echoed through the large room. She glanced around, looking for the source of them before realising what had been occurring before her very eyes.

"That'...can't be good." As the iced walls rose before her, she couldn't help but feel frustration. The boss had hidden itself beyond what was clearly an impassable wall of protection, and just when they had been doing so well. She glanced around and noticed the other walls, separating them from the various teams that had entered the boss room - leaving her alone with those who had rallied around her. "Coward..."

She didn't wait too long, realising that there was still a fight going on. As the new head - a frost covered rendition of Wushen's own appearance - seemed to shimmer into view, Nari was already moving, rushing forwards to place herself between it and the others, even as she called out to her group.

"Jomei, Ariel, Vigilon - focus on putting your strength into bringing down that head! STs if you can, don't bother worrying about the main body. This thing is our target for now!" She glanced at Krysta and Lessa, her mind rushing even as she spoke, trying to figure out the best plan of action, and coming up with something that she felt was barely passable as anything more than a consideration. "Lessa, hit that thing with a Delay! We want to hinder it as much as possible! Krysta if you can keep our health up, that would be amazing! Now is the time to focus on burning that energy a bit, but don't go overboard! I'll try and keep it focused on me...as much as I can!"

She turned to face the head, her eyes staring past it to the main form of Wushen in the distance, cloudy due to the ice wall that separated them. Her voice seemed to enhance itself as she called upon the skill, roaring into the air whether the thing could hear her or not. "Coward! Hiding behind mirages and walls! Are you so terrified to face us that you won't even fight us yourself?!"

Liquid began to seep from the side of the dragon, spilling out onto the ground at its feet. However, it was not blood.. as one might expect in the heat of battle, no, it was water. "What the hell?" Jomei thought to himself as he watched the trickling of clear water careen down past them. Wushen themselves seemed to hold off on any further actions against them.. was it preparing something? Were they about to face the real wrath of this elemental warlord? 

Just as he thought that, a portal-like waterpool began to form where the water originated from, spawning the spectral, blue image of another long, serpentine neck.

'Elemental' was starting to make a lot more sense now. 

This second, ghostly head scanned the room, before using its mystical powers to immediately freeze the streams of water, creating thick walls of ice that split each party from each other. Any images through the ice were a bit frosted and distorted, but he could have sword he saw two other heads sprout from the neck of Wushen. However, for now, they would be faced with the same form that created the ice walls. Radiation with icy, and static, energy, a combination that could pack quite a punch if they weren't ready. 

The fingers that wrapped around the hilt of his rapier clenched, causing his hand to tremble slightly. He glared into the sparking, yellow eyes of the dragon head, "We've got this. Don't back down. Everyone's counting on us." While his words could be meant for the group as a whole.. his voice only escaped in a low tone, mostly to himself and anyone directly near him. Despite, he needed to hear it. Finally finding the courage to move, Jomei rushed forward. Using the icy wall to his advantage, he would run a could of steps along the surface to get some altitude. Once he felt his boots could not keep any traction on the slippery wall, he launched himself at Novalite. Four swift strikes, each piercing the side of the spectral wyrm's face, followed by a final strike that would send out a small shockwave. 

As his attack finished, and he would hit the ground again, a hand would run over the pouches of his belt where he would normally keep his battle ready inventory. Eyes went wide for a moment as he froze.. shoulders falling, and lips curling into a small, somewhat sad, smirk. Nothing to rely on, and no teleport crystals in case things got back. "Guess I'm fighting to the end... in case things get rough." he'd say in a low voice again, before composing himself and readying to whatever this boss threw at them next.

[Ariel - The Crowned Lion 0]

It looked like a pretty streamlined fight, up until they started chipping at the boss' third health bar. Then things started to get more a little more complicated. Wushen started showing its aces, in the form of multiple hydra heads. A different one for each party she noticed before each grup got segregated, not that the blonde had time to pay attention to the rest of the raid. The casual glance over the participants HP bars showed they were mostly green.

These new variables were definitely a headscratcher but not something that couldn't be solved with raw force as they did until now, at least from the blonde's initial assessment. Acting on that though, the blonde banged her fist against the new ice walls then returned her focus on the 'new' enemy. An extension of Wushen, that showed why it had the title «Elemental Warlord».
A short sprint closed the distance between Ariel and Novalite, next came an overhead diagonal slash that phased through its neck and removing a chuck of it's visible HP bar.

                     How close were the players now?

     That question might have to be answered later, for more words echoed throughout the room, and things might have just taken a much larger turn for the worse. For starters, ice formed, grew, and spread in a pattern that separated the parties, while also forming a defensive barrier, blockading the space between the boss and the players. "What is this, you seeing us as a threat now?" He asked.

           Then the heads emerged in each space. One of Venom, One of Plant matter....
                    ...And against Vigilon's party, a head of Ice with an electrical charge. Seeing that these elements were related to the Wuxing elemental system, this one must be...Water Element. Vigilon blinked, then looked to his effectively Fire Elemental Sword. "Aw, crap..."
          Vigilon had his doubts that fire would be very effective, so he'd have to rely on his weapon's darker energies and hope that this water type head wouldn't extinguish the Burn enhancement from his blade. He did not want to have to go fighting Cerberus again to repair his weapon a second time. Once was enough.

          Well, better do something instead of just stand around like a sitting duck!
    Vigilon readied his weapon. he'd have to try, at least, and this one head here was the only available target. What he wouldn't realize, however, was just how prepared his enemy would be for his attack. Had Vigilon become predictable, or was the boss playing all of its trump cards and putting in all of the effort? Only one way to find out, but Vigilon's failure to strike would not be a pleasant one...

[Lessa 1]

"Got it," Lessa replied, nodding in Nari's direction. TECH sword arts weren't her forte, but she'd follow her tank's lead. As the head towered above her, and she felt its beady gaze boring into her, Lessa shivered. "Let's get this thing down as quickly as possible," she muttered, gaze flicking toward the walls that had sprung up around them. She really, really did not enjoy being cut off from the rest of the Frontliners. 

Once again, fear licked at the back of her mind, and she tightened her grip on her massive blade. Then she wasted no time dealing a quick blow, and moving back to Jomei's side. The need to be in his proximity was suddenly impossible to ignore. Because of his closeness, she noticed the moment that he reached for something on his belt and came up emptyhanded.

That fear intensified. "Jomei," she said in a hushed voice. "Do you not have a TP crystal?" Despite being in the middle of combat, Lessa summoned her HUD, withdrew a teleportation crystal, and shoved it at him.
