Hirru 0 Posted December 28, 2023 Author #21 Share Posted December 28, 2023 Listening intently on the words, the hunter would smile under the helm. Freyd was finding his own in this world, and that gave Hirru a bit of reprieve. There wasn't much the hunter really knew about the man, but he was happy to know that there was someone there for him. He nodded, seeing that the man was settling that talk for now. "Thought you were just as much a free spirit. Though, I guess I don't know any better. It may be more than I thought." Not to say that the hunter was probably the most grounded in his ways than anyone else. So far out of his way to work through the world, that he has found his own way to deal with it. Consistently trying to find the right option to combat an obstacle, but finding the oddest one out of them all. Not out of necessity, but just because it is what should be. Stepping up towards the staircase leading upwards, the healer would shrug. "It's the only way to go, unless you think we can blow a hole through the walls. They seemed to react a bit." He would say as he placed his hand upon the archway. Faux-gothic? There was another word for the memory banks. Was it how this place looked? There were quite a few around on different floors, but mostly in certain areas. This floor seemed to have it more as a part of the basic infrastructure, that wasn't already ruined. His touch would make the stairs slightly react, it would be difficult to see with the dim lighting, but they were both no strangers to such formalities. The stairs seemed to undulate slightly on the edge of the dark. Hirru would not let that scare him from continuing on. Taking a step forward onto the first step would set flames erupting in odd sconces along the stairwell. "I guess they want us to continue." As they did, the stairs would continue to up and up. Up and up. Up and up. Step by step, the slog of physically scaling the vertical space in a specified degree of diagonal position tracking. Most of those words that came out of his thoughts would make him feel stupid at times, but maybe it was something else. Maybe he just was. Maybe.. the stairs were longer than they thought. As the thought crossed his head, the ping of several mob markers would ring out all around them. Where were they hiding? The walls were the answer, as the walls began to morph into long fingers, then hands, then arms. Four demonic arms sprouting out of the walls all around them. This was bad. They were in a narrow corridor surrounded by these things. "Well, I should have seen this coming.." Freyd 0 Posted December 29, 2023 #22 Share Posted December 29, 2023 (edited) "Me? A free spirit? I suppose I should be flattered if you thought that to be the case. I try my best to be unpredictable. But, it's hardly the truth. There's almost always method to my madness, whatever form it might take." Parts of his mind sought to shutter the conversation, to reveal nothing of himself to anyone, but Hirru had proven himself time and again. Dawn had risen on the realization that they could not simply brute force their way through Kayaba's trap - and certainly not alone. Elora was first, but not alone, among those who had taught him the value in people. The term was apt and deliberate. Freyd was an appraiser, after all, and the callous machine mind behind all of his decision making had been forced to enter new variables. People were an irreplaceable commodity in this world, and they were losing too many, too fast. Better bonds were needed, and could be forged in moments like these. Drifting back to the present conversation, Freyd noted the Hunter's gaze upon the stone arches and details, peering along to discern what might be lingering. Sconces lit as they approached the upward spiral, Freyd's fists flexing reflectively at his sides. "I guess they want us to continue." "Yeah," he muttered, unconvinced that the spontaneous provision of lighting was in any way a good thing. He'd have been just fine in the dark. This felt too much like a pair of giant spotlights telling every foul thing nesting in the nooks and crannies of this dungeon exactly where they were. Pings triggered alertness in both warriors as the walls and floors began to writhe, then grasp, then claw at everything within reach. "No way out, save through them," came the Whisper's retort to his companion's self-repudiation. Red limbs ending in misshapen and sinister-looking black talons slashed with more awareness than they should, 'til Freyd spotted the yellow bloodshot eyes lining the seams between sinews along the demonic musculature. "It couldn't be a plain old deer, or slimy used wagon salesmen, of something equally benign? No, someone upstairs has to come up with this shit!" Parrying wildly, the black clad martial artists wove, twisted and dodged impossibly, wreaking what havoc he could as he went. A final explosive strike sent a shockwave of energy rippling out from the point of impact and seemed to do them in. Health bars dipped to nothing, or not quite, then instantly the flailing resumed as the Whisper cursed his luck. "Oh, come on! That just figures," he grumbled, sliding back to his companion's side. "Feels an awful lot like the last pin denying us a strike, don't you think?" Three of the arms still flailed and flopped around, but the slightest breeze might be all that was needed to end each one of them. *** Spoiler Post Action | AoE-I (x15, 11 EN, +2 shift, +2/hit): 21 EN - (Rested 2/2; Stamina) = 18 EN. Hirru 0 Posted January 23 Author #23 Share Posted January 23 There was nothing that the hunter could do in this situation. All he could do was raise his shield while lowing himself, so that Freyd could easily attack around him. It was an awkward position, but it was the only way. Though, as the shadowed wanderer seemed to split the hands down through their health bars. There was the sound of crystalline shattering, but by the looks of it, they were still in the fight. Hirru could only look on at the health bars that seemed to be empty. How were they still alive?, he would think. Though at closer observation, they were only a slight blip of health remaining. Did these things actually live with only a singular point of health remaining? "Don't seem to like the notion of death, or we're just that unlucky today? Either or.." There was no need to do anything here, but the hunter truly wished he could finish off the enemy here. There was no way to easily do so, though. The hunter could only use his weapons without the usage of his former build. That meant that his accuracy was long gone, and his damage was gone too. "Damn.." He grumbled under his breath. There was only so much he could do, and this was one of them. His hand fell close to Freyd, and gave a bit of his energy to the daring young man. Freyd 0 Posted January 25 #24 Share Posted January 25 (edited) Scrambling for room to maneuver, Freyd flipped perspectives along with himself. Pressing a hand against stalwart Hirru's shoulder, his darkened form sprung up high. Grabbing briefly onto a nearby sconce for purchase, Freyd spun and flailed in furious motions that scattered shadows along with the shattered crystalline forms of broken limbs. Crackling lightning flashed amidst a cloud of indigo miasma, like some sort of brooding thunderstorm was suddenly erupting directly overhead. Just as suddenly, the chaos stopped and orange snow, like some sort of strange fractal residuum, drifted down around Hirru only to disappear upon contact with the stairs beneath his feet. The dark cloud dispersed. Suddenly still, post-mayhem and looking suspiciously spider-like, Freyd hung suspended above with legs splayed in a painful-looking split that placed a foot on either side of corridor. One might have half-expected to see eight glowing red eyes to be peering down from below his trademark cowl, but prompting only a low chuckle. Without a sound, he dropped and landed upright at his companion's side with feline grace, dusting off a sleeve still clinking slightly from various bits of mob lingering in a fold or two of his outfit. "There. That ought to do it," he added wryly, the broadest of grins visible at the base of a face otherwise concealed. "I'm getting a nasty feeling, like we might be in this tower's gullet. What say we punch our way out through its teeth before it decides to swallow, hmm?" *** Spoiler Freyd regains +4 EN Freyd regains 73 HP from BH CD 10 (+8 REC proc) ID #218856 Post Action | TECH-F (x8, 8 EN, +2/hit): 12 EN - (Rested 1/2; Stamina) = 9 EN. Hirru 0 Posted February 11 Author #25 Share Posted February 11 (edited) "I agree. We shouldn't be in here any longer than we need to be. Though, I do hope that you're joking about the teeth part." He said while dusting his shoulder from the point that Freyd had used him as a springboard. The hands were vanquished and the stair well seemed much less.. alive, or should the saying be 'more normal'. Their ascent would take them a few minutes, before an opening would bring the next obstacle into view. The open stagnant air that would be attributed to the 13th floor would fill the air, almost tantalizing them as the way out was before them. The only thing that seemed to be the jagged stalactites and stalagmites that seemed to cover the exit. They seemed to leak water down, but the formation of them seemed off. Hirru wouldn't be able to pin point it, but the stalactites were not direction above some of the stalagmites. In fact, they're formation was even odder, as they seemed to be pointed inward, towards the both of them. The only two that weren't, were two stalactites that seemed to be curved in an odd manner. "This better not be a gaping maw.." As he said that, something seemed to slip by. It was along the periphery of his vision, but it wasn't coming up on his pings. It was still a mass rippling effect from everything in the room. Still, they probably wouldn't have to wait long. The floor seemed to wriggle and writhe a bit before a stalagmite seemed to come alive. It's body seemed to consist of the same fleshy bits as the hands before. Mouths slitting thought the entirety of its length, but would seemingly split in two near the base. It wasn't long to see why. The being that crawled out of the shadows split down the middle, slick slime coming off from the seams. Each half would form into a part rock man, part snake hybrid. They almost seemed like Naga from a certain floor that he didn't want to go back to today. That is, if the naga were just mouth and teeth all the way down. Freyd 0 Posted February 11 #26 Share Posted February 11 (edited) "I swear that they're just using AI art generation rejects at this point, you know?" By the time Hirru would turn, he was already gone. Having closed the distance between them in the blink of an eye, Freyd caught their would-be assailants off guard and turned the very same tactic against them. Snaring the nearer naga-thingy by the edge of the cleft of its malformed figure, he barreled high into its chest knocking it prone on its back. Then, using his momentum, he summersaulted over top of it grabbing onto its shoulders and used his own momentum to launch the startled mob right at its partner. All of its mouths screeched in horror as the bodies collided, the impact dazing the launched and smashing the impacted into a hundred different fragments. "Hah! I wondered if that would work." A quick screech from his wrappings and flurry of follow up strikes left the lone remaining mob badly beaten with a whole slew of extra holes that hadn't been there just moments before. "Does this feel like fighting plaque? Maybe tartar build-up? Shouldn't we have some PSA music queuing in the background, or something?" Despite the bizarro nature of their circumstances, Freyd actually seemed to be enjoying the moment and having a good time. *** Spoiler Freyd regains +4 EN CD 7 (+8 REC proc) ID #218971 Post Action | AoE-I (x15, 11 EN, +2 Shift, +2/hit): 17 EN - (Rested 2/2; Stamina) = 14 EN. Hirru 0 Posted March 17 Author #27 Share Posted March 17 Hirru didn't know what any of that meant, and probably for the better. If it had anything to do with being in a giant mouth, or not, was still not what was on his mind. The Utterance that was left seemed to be stunned, no.. paralyzed by the excessive power that Freyd could enforce. It's twin had been removed from their connected self, as if a part of it was no longer there. It didn't know what to do. It would be much easier for the hunter to attack it now, if he could. He wished he could. "Probably wouldn't sound more off putting than anything we've heard before." Hirru took the mouth motif and worked with that knowledge. Anything in the mouth would be really odd. Even more so when there is some weird music playing around it. Although, the hunter didn't know what PSA meant either. Must be more jolly than deep, dark and dank. He really had to ask Shield what any of that meant. Freyd 0 Posted March 17 #28 Share Posted March 17 (edited) "Yeah," Freyd replied, weaving around the thing's jerky movements as it regained elements of control over itself. "All bark, no bite, I guess." The mob opened its many mouths as if to protest, giving him the perfect opportunity to kick it in the teeth several times over. By the time he was done, there was nothing left of the last Utterance, its polygons dissolving into nothingness "We should be near the exit, barring whatever other parts of Malediction will try to stop us next. My money is on 'Malediction's nose hairs'... also.. eww." Grimacing as he spoke, Freyd winced and stuck out his tongue at the prospect of doing battle with such a thing. "You and I find the weirdest places." Pausing to steady himself before they resumes their climb, Freyd looked over at his companion to make sure that everything was fine. "Looks like we hit a bit of a gruesome one this time. All good there, vice-commander?" Taking but a moment to tug at the wraps around each hand, he couldn't have them slipping off at the wrong moment and attempting to devour one of his own fingers. Hirru 0 Posted May 5 Author #29 Share Posted May 5 "Yeah, I would rather not.." He would reply to the possible hair like creatures that could be lurking around. The defeat of the creatures entwined also cleared out some of the obstacles around them. The stalactites and stalagmites seemed shaven away from the blows that Freyd had flared out against the entwined Utterances. There seemed to be light at the end of the tunnel, quite literally even. "I'll be.. better once we're out of here. Maybe.." Hirru responded to his companions inquiry to his health, though he was probably more talking about the hunter's lack of response. There wasn't much he could say to things that didn't make sense to him, and Freyd was throwing them around one after another. He had quite a bit of this from Mack and Macradon, but not all too often. He could handle it back then too, as he wasn't having trouble with his own identity back then. Now though.. Stepping through the opening into the blinding light, the hunter's eyes would have to adjust themselves for a moment. The area around them seemed to resemble the terrain of the 13th floor once more. "It seems we're back, but where's the boss? Shouldn't there be a weird demonic boss at the end of such a weird dungeon?" The hunter switched his search back on, and the oddities kept coming. A large blip would come up from behind them. That wasn't possible, the hunter thought. We cleared everything that was behind them, and it was only a nearly straight path. What could be.. "Jump!" The familiar voice was followed by a rumbling from behind a the 'cave' entrance that held them shed its disguise and stuck out at them. The forewarning would have been enough for Hirru to pull his shield around to engage in defense, while the agile Freyd was sure to have flourished his way into a more advantageous situation. Dust and earth began to be upheaved as a looming shadow would await them. A giant snake like creature loomed above them with a disgustingly fierce look to it. It seemed to be of a hooded cobra type, but something odd formed along the frills. They were arms, the same arms from the stairs. It opened it's maw and the lower jaw seemed to unhinged both from the skull and from itself; splitting in two to reveal a mass of tendril tongues. One of those slightly thinner, and cut down to size. "Maybe we should have stabbed the walls." He called out. Freyd 0 Posted May 7 #30 Share Posted May 7 (edited) "Eww. Seriously. Who comes up with this stuff?!" Grimacing even as he advanced, Freyd proceeded to devastate the serpent's menacing form, rendering unto it the blessing of doomly Swiss cheese. In other words, by the time he was finished with his kata, it had a bunch of fist-size holes all over it exposing the damaged orange avatar mesh beneath. Dashing with supernatural speed, the serpent sought to recover, but found only shadow and the ear-splitting keening of a Whisper's riposte as he'd already moved to its flank. "Keep that shield up! This one's got a bad case of grabby hands." When its fangs failed to find purchase, the monstrous boss lashed out with its many limbs and tongues instead. Fortunately, all failed to find purchase, but it wasn't for lack of effort. "We really need to find a nice quiet beach somewhere, with no mobs, and nothing but suds and lady friends to keep us company. It would certainly beat dancing with these things, and be a welcome change of pace, don'tcha think?" Having successfully turned the mob away from Hirru, Freyd made to kite it towards the exit where they might more easily make their escape, if necessary. No dungeon boss could be treated casually, despite his flippant comments and behaviour, and they'd both already had a tough enough slog for one day. *** Spoiler Freyd regains +4 EN CD 6 (No REC proc) ID #223218 Post Action | AoE-I (x15, 11 EN +2 shift, +2/hit): 15 EN - (Rested 2/2, Stamina) = 12 EN Free Action [skill] | Quick Change (CD 0/3) - replace The Thing Behind All Lies with Samael's Pride ID #223219 | BD: 8+7-3=12 (hit, Fallen +16). Hirru 0 Posted May 12 Author #31 Share Posted May 12 After dealing a major amount of damage to the creature, the demonic snake reared back from the impact. The hands flailing around as the recoil took them, but it would come back to form soon after. The cowl of the cobra slithering back into being, but it felt that something was more off. Was there always eyes there? Were the arms forming odd patterns to look like eyes? Hirru didn't want to stare at it, incase it had some weird cursing ability. He didn't want to be having more arms than he should, or whatever these curses give. Maybe he would become a undead skeleton? Would be kinda weird, to be honest. "I think we do deserve a little rest and relaxation after all of this." He could feel the warm air as he imagined it, for only the briefest moment. The salty spray from the waves that would splash out from the shoreline. He could see people either playing in the water, or lounging in the sand. Most were having fun, though there was one that seemed to be staring out into the waves. A woman whos hair shone in a violet hue. Their skin tanned beautifully. This was someone that he wanted to see. As they look back to the hunter.. Spoiler The sky is dark. The waves are rougher. The smell of a storm in the air. I look upon the one before me, she is not whom I once knew. What was once a friend turns to meet my gaze. Her eyes are glazed over, hair no longer fair. I can't help to realize that her face is a haze. I can't remember anything but the water that splashes around me. A final wave before us, growing larger than none before. The water swallows us both, one can no longer be. Light only comes a moment more, when washed upon the darkened shore. Hirru blinked wildly as he came back to the fight. The hands seemed to pass around him as Malediction passed over him to attack Freyd. Was he breathing heavily? Was that another.. who was that? That wasn't whom he thought it was, so was it one of. As he thought on, a snap of movement would point his shield towards Freyd. A yellow light would flow through the shield before a passing over the shadow. Freyd 0 Posted May 20 #32 Share Posted May 20 (edited) Hirru seemed distant and sluggish in his movements, even as Freyd spun and whirled like a madman trying to keep the vile snake-like thing at bay. Parrying where he couldn't dodge outright, its sheer size and speed made it more than a handful. "Holy crap... new eyes?! This bloody thing is mutating even as we fight it." Poking out a few bought him an opening to deliver several swift strikes, and even momentarily turned the tide in their favour, but the fight was far from over. "Gah! This thing is just... wrong." A familiar buzz of energy from the vice-commander's direction told him Hirru was busy doing his thing and keeping his energy stores topped up. "Persi!" A streak of black lightning shot out from the darkness, catching the massive serpent from behind. A song of shattering shards signaled damage dealt, supplemented by the abundant bobbling of eyes that simply shouldn't be. "Thanks, girl," he breathed behind clenched teeth, his familiar having granted them a momentary reprieve. "Hirru?" Freyd called out, noticing the glossy look in his companion's eyes and worried that he'd been bitten or otherwise afflicted by something. "You still with me, pal?" Please say yes. Pretty please? Hirru 0 Posted June 10 Author #33 Share Posted June 10 (edited) The serpent was slowly coming down as both Freyd and his familiar were making their way through its unnatural visage. Strike by strike, the bosses many limbs were cut off, but more come back more mangled and distorted. There would be no end to the torment, would there? The cursed serpent would fly out in a rage as each attack would miss its mark. There was no hitting the wild and sporadic movements of the whispering shade. Still, it seemed to be preoccupied by the two of them. Cursed as it was, there was not much it could do against sheer power. So, what was the big deal? They have been through dungeons and bosses like this before. Only once had something caused him to have issue, and that was that dark elf assassin. Why was this one causing these to happen now? This has nothing to do with that. What was all of that? The water shouldn't.. That hair.. the face. She wouldn't.. Would she? The scene was vivid for only the moment and gone the next. Freyd's calls bringing him out of his minds fall. There was no time to be crawling back into the dark. There is no curse that can stop it. They had a serpent to defeat. "Yeah, just.. felt something off. I'll keep my guard and your energy up." He could be swept away by the waves another day. Freyd 0 Posted June 26 #34 Share Posted June 26 (edited) "A memory? Something familiar about this fight?" Freyd wasn't normally one to hold conversations in the midst of battle, unless they were meant to distract his opponents. In this case, the serpent seemed to have achieved the same against his friend without having to say a word. Knowing something of Hirru's past, he chose to reach out and make certain that everything was alright. Elora, he knew, would want him to. Sidestepping several more serpent swipes, he managed to twist and turn its agility against it, but with limited success. It was just too fast, too agile, for him to pin down, just like its ever-changing form. "It's like fighting some sort of mutant chimera that keeps altering itself. Plus, also, really kinda gross." A flailing slap parried the thing's attempt to bite him, but razor like fangs slashed against his arm instead. Hissing in frustration at his lack of foresight, Freyd groaned internally at the irony. Really? You just hissed at a snake? "Can't say that I've ever encountered anything quite like this before. If we can just get passed it, we should be free and clear." Balling the fist on his injured arm, he smashed the mob with as much power as he could muster, but seemed to be lacking a bit of his usual oomph. They really needed to catch a lucky break. *** Spoiler Freyd regains +4 EN CD 12 (No REC proc) ID #223490 Cooldown: Quick Change (2/3), Grappling Familiar (1/5) Post Action | ST-B (x20, 20 EN): 20 EN - (Stamina) = 18 EN. Hirru 0 Posted July 18 Author #35 Share Posted July 18 (edited) "I'm.. not sure.." Freyd was making sure that the hunter had not mentally left him behind. Hirru was wondering the same thing, if he was going to sustain himself through this fight. Was that even a memory? He didn't remember ever going to the beach to relax with everyone ever. Not even to enjoy one of Mac's fanciful parties. So where did that come from? Who was that violet haired woman? It wasn't.. No, it couldn't have been her. The form was smaller than her, and the hair was fully violet. There shouldn't have been anything to cause that. Though, was it something that was innocent? Something that wouldn't be normally adding to the situation. Keeping his head in the game was what was needed though. The demonic serpent seemed to swim through the land, though it more seemed like another creature he had seen on floor 20. An insect like a snake, but with millions of tiny legs. It almost seemed like that, but with human hands and arms.. waving like the oce.. "Reminds me of a bug.. ..I hate bugs." A quick sleight of hand as Freyd was flipping around him would bring his health back up to full. Energy be damned if he was having his friend any less than full health. Freyd 0 Posted July 18 #36 Share Posted July 18 (edited) Quick action by his compatriot provided resurgence only for Freyd to catch another glancing blow, this time from the abomination's tail. "Gah! How the heck to Raidou and Eruda stand around doing this all day? Trading blows over a contest of attrition isn't usually my thing." The Whisper narrowly snared a section of said snek and punched hard rapping it against the solid stone walls. Every bit helped lower the beast's failing health, but it was still hovering a third of its total. "We've nearly got it down to yellow," was the best he could muster by way of optimism. They'd win in the end. His present concern was Hirru's state of mind, the vice-commander clearly still drifting against the currents of his own memories. "Keep talking, Hirru." Basic first aid: keep the patient conscious and talking. "What bugs do you hate. Tell me a-" Lunging and rolling to evade the serpent's latest strike interrupted their banter. "Tell me a storey! Was it a boss raid, or something else? Who else was there? Was she cute?" That last one brought a smile to his lips, wondering whether it might stir his companion out of reverie. *** Spoiler Freyd regains +4 EN CD 7 (+8 REC proc) ID #223515 Cooldown: Quick Change (3/3), Grappling Familiar (2/5) Post Action | AoE-I (x15, 11 EN, +2 shift, +2/hit): 15 EN - (Stamina) = 13 EN. Hirru 0 Posted July 25 Author #37 Share Posted July 25 (edited) "Fuck, if it isn't all of them!" Freyd asked him the question that has been bugging him for quite some time too. Why did the sight of bugs piss him off so? Was it the ungodly sight of things that should be smaller? Should they be smaller?! He couldn't say. Though, there were instances that really brought it out. As an array of hands tried to reach out to him as the snake passed by, the hunter slapped them aside with his shield. "The scorpions of the 5th floor with their paralyzing venom. The ants of the 11th floor with their burrows that extend throughout the floor. THE ENTIRETY OF THE 20TH FLOOR AND MOTHRA!!" He seethed with every mention of a time when he had to deal with each and every insect. Each one giving him the hardest of times, but not all of it was their fault. He had stayed on the fifth floor for so long, that dealing with scorpions was an every day thing. He didn't have to stay there, but he did. Why? Because he didn't want to die to a dungeon he found on higher floors. It's what he did best, and he didn't want to lose himself within one. When he finally did decide to venture out more, the incident in the ant hills happened. Nearly getting lost and losing not just himself, but Baldur. They had just met not even a week before, but they're friendship was cemented then. The twentieth floor was really nothing, as he knew well of how bugs worked by then, so he was able to scout out the labyrinth with ease. It was only his hatred of bugs that led him to figure them out more. His analyzing traits soon manifested into the scouting hunter that he was today. "So many memories from them all. Both good and bad. They could never harm me, but.." Another flash of green would follow Freyd, keeping him topped off in health for as long as he could. Freyd 0 Posted July 25 #38 Share Posted July 25 (edited) Fighting off the boss while listening to his friend's brief, Freyd found himself smiling and chuckling at the prospect. The cursed serpent, with its multitude of extra limbs and eyes, somewhat resembled a disturbing-looking centipede, as if those things weren't creepy enough already at this size. "Yeah. Okay. That seems fair." A flare of familiar and restorative green signaled his companion's latest support effort. There were few healers of Hirru's calibre, even on the frontlines, and he respected the man's dedication to his chosen arts. Momentarily mesmerized by the glow, the serpent slowed just enough to grant the barely winded Whisper just the opening he's been waiting for, so he pounced. Grabbing a pair of mismatched arms, Freyd flung himself onto the beasts' body, leveraging his own momentum to twist and wrench it like a rung squeegee. A high pitches wheezing sound was all it managed before Freyd spun, unleashing the gathered force empowered with the fury of a well-timed sword art and launched the entire beast against the maw-like opening ahead. Caught on the sculpted, fang-like maw that likewise marked the exit to this damnable dungeon, the serpent shattered into a thousand different body bits, each bursting into motes in turn and raining down upon their heads. "What the hell did we come in here for again," Freyd asked, a wry grin beaming from beneath his cowl. They'd been fighting for so long that he'd practically forgotten. "Oh, right. That thing with the thing, and whole Morgiana slaying demons thing. Now I remember." Stuffing his hands into a pair of concealed pockets, the lanky would-be tank looked entirely too relaxed and nonchalant after everything they'd just survived. But that was just Freyd being Freyd. "So... coffee? I know a place in Angel Point. You can tell me more stories about those pesky bugs you keep running into.
