Kylissia 0 Posted November 18 #61 Share Posted November 18 Kylissia watched as Wulfrin moved in to attack the boar, and stunned it. Wulfrin offered to let the three women have a chance to strike, saying the girls had until the stun wears off, which would be any second now, then Wulfrin would go to finish off the boar. Kylissia noticed Miryu preparing an attack, so she held out her arm in front of Miryu, stopping her advance and keeping her safe and sound. "Miryu, stop." She began. "Both of you, this is not a good idea. Our levels are not high enough to guarantee our safety if something were to go wrong. It may be stunned now but it won't be for long. For now, it's best that we remain here until a better opportunity arises or the boar is slain. For now, it is best that we handle this situation defensively. To act too recklessly will surely get us killed." She explained. Better safe than sorry. Wulfrin 0 Posted November 21 #62 Share Posted November 21 (edited) Sadly none of his fellow teammates wanted to play his little game. This was actually to his determent, he was basically out of gas at this point, hoping that the random number generator would favor him with a tad bit more energy. Unfortunately Cardinal did not seem to be on his side. He was back at square one. when he underwent this lesson, his fight with Mother Boar had gone about the same way. The difference was Wulfrin could take a few hits this time around. He gritted his teeth and let his blade come down on the Mother Boar. No sword art triggered this time, but the hit was at least a heavy enough blow to trigger the blight on his weapon. Necrotic veins covered the boar in a spiderweb pattern. The boar mother charged at Wulfrin in retaliation. Wulfrin maneuvered his blade to block the goring tusks. "Don't fret girls," Wulfrin said panting, his weariness from battle beginning to slip through the cracks of his stoic facade. "I have its attention. Hit it and hit it hard. This one will have to be a group effort." * * * Recovery?: ID 237757 | CD 3 | Fail Wulfrin regains 2 EN Cooldowns: Post Action: Basic Attack -> Mother Boar Free Action: ID 237758 | BD 9 (Minor Crit, +1 DMG) | 13 DMG to Mother Boar, Blight 8 Applied Enemy Action: Attack -> Wulfrin ID 237758 | MD 2 | Miss Mother Boar takes 8 damage from Blight. Miryu 0 Posted November 24 Author #63 Share Posted November 24 (edited) Miryu had every intention of getting the soonest opportunity to take the monster down, now if only it could present itself without disruption... The moment Kylissia's hand lowered in consideration, Miryu rushed into the fray, as though she was doing so out of personal habit. Her blade clashed against the beast's tusks, and it was clear that this particular boar had seen plenty of combat. The boar knew how to use her tusks to block and deflect Miryu's weapon, and at one point managed to catch it in attempt to disarm her. The attempt to disarm failed, but the boar proceeded to close the distance and lift Miryu with her tusks and snout, then toss her into the air. The height was not enough to damage Miryu, but she was sent flying high enough and far enough to tumble into a crash landing behind the beast. The boar brought it's gaze back to Wulfrin, until Miryu decided that persistence might create an opening. "Tossing me behind will not stop me!" Miryu called out to the boar, before rushing in and forcing it to have to turn around and deflect further attacks from Miryu. Almina 0 Posted November 27 #64 Share Posted November 27 (edited) Wulfrin was starting to tire out, and the monster was still standing. If there was a time to attack, it was...apparently now. Miryu rushed in without hesitation, but that turned out to be a reckless move full of thoughtless attempts to activate a sword art that were all deflected and blocked by this clearly experienced boar. To add insult to injury, it caught Miryu's weapon(a maneuver Almina was familiar with, thanks to her little excursion with Aidan and the unexpected first battle Almina got herself involved in), and proceeded to toss her up and behind(another trick that she recalled them doing). This didn't stop Miryu of course, for she was nothing if not persistent, and having to fend off Miryu with its front left the rest of it...potentially vulnerable? The light bulb went off in Almina's head. "She's trying to distract it." She observed. "By keeping the boar's focus split between defending against Miryu and offensively aiming for Wulfrin, the rest of the boar is wide open!" Almina rushed in, preparing a sword art as she advanced. What she wasn't expecting was for the boar to keep its ears open, listening for Almina's footsteps, then the boar would launch its body sideways towards Almina, disrupting her attack and effortlessly landing on all fours while Almina tumbled to the ground. The fact that the beast returned to deflecting Miryu's attacks in a split second seemed to suggest that this boar was both a tough and observant opponent. Kylissia 0 Posted November 27 #65 Share Posted November 27 (edited) Kylissia had lent her accuracy trinket to someone a long while back, and now she was regretting not replacing it. What brought her to this realization, you ask? Well, let's start this part of the scene from the start, shall we? Wulfrin's energy was waning, and he noted that this would need to be a group effort. The moment Kylissia lowered her arms, Miryu rushed in. Before Kylissia had the chance to warn Miryu about timing and recklessness, the amnesiac would get herself tossed into the air and tumble roll onto the ground in an improvised crash landing. She had the gall to persist, and Almina observed that Miryu was simply try to create an opening for the other two girls this time, believing that by Wulfrin holding its offensive attention and Miryu holding its defensive attention, that it would be wide open to attacks at this point. Kylissia readied her weapon, and took a different direction of approach as to try and flank the boar. Unfortunately for both girls, the boar would shove its weight against Almina, as it anticipated her incoming attack and intended to disrupt it so it wouldn't land. That wasn't the only attack it avoided with this maneuver, however, as this movement would also put it just enough out of harm's way for Kylissia's attack to be a near miss. "A more coordinated attack might have been a better attempt at a group effort, this one's clearly experienced, and used to tangling with multiple foes, to boot." Kylissia noted aloud. Clearly there was something wrong in the play here. Wulfrin 0 Posted December 13 #66 Share Posted December 13 (edited) Once again Wulfrin was at an impasse. His energy had almost entirely depleted once the Mamma Boar entered the scene. The key difference was this time Wulfrin could last more than just one hit against her. He was going to have to rely on Blighted Fang to inflict its deadly plague upon his target until his energy could recover. If he could manage to squeak out one final Sword Art against the boar, this fight could end. Unfortunately fate had other plans. Wulfrin readied his blade and charged the angered mother boar. His blade went off course significantly without the help of the system to guide the strike. This left him far too open, and the mother boar seized her opportunity. There was a sharp pain in the back of Wulfrin's legs as the boar charged him. Wulfrin, the ever graceful man he is, ended up face down in the muddy field. "When I get home," Wulfrin grumbled as he wiped the mud from his face. "I'm having porkchops." * * * Note: Miss calculated energy for basic attack. Should have only cost 1 EN. Miryu 0 Posted Sunday at 09:23 PM Author #67 Share Posted Sunday at 09:23 PM (edited) As it turned out, Miryu's attempt to keep the monster distracted didn't work out as much as she hoped. The angered boar would fend off attacks from Almina and Kylissia with ease, then proceed to knock Wulfrin down into the mud. Of course, in it's "zeal" it left itself wide open to Miryu's blade. Miryu would unleash her sword art on the creature. Not much of its HP dropped, but if Miryu could hurt it, she and the other two girls could kill it. The boar staggered from Miryu's attack, then squealed at her angrily before turning to face Wulfrin again. Miryu knew how to fight, yet the earliest thing she remembered was waking up in that strange place. Was there something of her past that remained within her habits and actions? Well, only time would tell for now...there was just this boar getting in the way, she could question herself later. Almina 0 Posted Thursday at 05:07 AM #68 Share Posted Thursday at 05:07 AM (edited) The boar would manage to avoid being damaged by Kylissia, then after avoiding Wulfrin's attack, the boar would proceed to add insult to injury(or was this actually injury to insult?) by knocking Wulfrin face first into the mud. All things considered, Almina regretted not dealing with her middle school's aggressive goat outbreak all those years ago. That could have prepared her for learning how to properly attack enemies in this game...but in hindsight, maybe fighting the goats would have taken Almina on a completely different path, given the very circumstances of her life as a whole. Almina then saw Miryu land a hit, one that was enough to get the boar squealing at her, face to face. Almina readied her sword art, and landed a mighty strike against the boar, knocking it back a few meters, it stumbled and rolled along its landing, then it squealed bloody murder at Almina. "Now's the time, Kylissia," She thought. "Strike while it's distracted!" She could only hope it was enough, it wouldn't take much to win now... Kylissia 0 Posted Thursday at 05:33 AM #69 Share Posted Thursday at 05:33 AM (edited) After Kylissia made her observation, the boar would dodge Wulfrin's attack and proceed to knock him down into the mud. She could offer to clean him up later, right now the players had this swine to deal with. Miryu managed to deal a good cut against the boar, and then Almina would come in clutch with a blow that should have been devastating...if it weren't for level difference. If anything, the boar's HP was now severely low, victory was in the players' grasp. The boar squealed with great anger towards Almina, and Kylissia took this chance to attack. Unfortunately the boar noticed Kylissia attempting to flank it while its gaze was fixed on Almina, it would make an attempt to parry Kylissia's weapon. Kylissia resisted, and the two combatants entered a lock. The boar tried several yanks and parries, but could not manage to disarm or throw Kylissia. As for Kylissia herself, she just needed to create an opening for Wulfrin, even if he could manage nothing more than a basic attack with his current energy.
