Background:

Waxton Kingsley, referred to by friends as Wax or Kingsley, is one of the few Sword Art Online players to fall under the demographic of "seniors." His favorite things include exotic teas, his grandchildren, winter sports, hard liquor, and historical literature. He has a large family, consisting of his late wife, who passed away in their fifties after a long battle with stomach cancer, three sons, one daughter, and seven grandchildren between the lot of them.

In his youth, Wax worked in the slate industry, working his way up from contracted labor to management over the short span of a decade. With the experience he had gained throughout this time, he eventually purchased a slate mine of his own, which unbeknownst to him would become one of the largest mines in the history of Northern Wales.

Kingsley Slate Company was taken over by Wax's eldest son, Harold Kingsley, allowing him to phase into retirement at the age of sixty-five. Free time was a stranger to him, and he spent a large portion of it adjusting to a life without work. Lacking the structure that had been consistent throughout his life, he found that his days spent at home were more lonely and depressing than the any of the hours he spent working. His solution to this was travel.

Wax chose to live the rest of his life abroad, exploring the many wonders of the world while he still had a semi-functional back and knees. The routine he had set for himself was a month at home with his family and a month away, in whatever country was next on the list.

A grandson of Waxton's spent an absurd amount of time lecturing him on technology, most of which was in one ear and out the other. One day, out of pure curiosity, he tried on his grandson's virtual reality headset. He launched it without a clue of what would occur, thus beginning his adventure into Sword Art Online.

Virtues

Tea Expert - Years of tea-brewing experience have granted him the title of "expert." What was once a source of caffeine to him quickly became a hobby. During his travels, he would often educate curious locals on tea-brewing, igniting and forming new friendships wherever he went.
Kindhearted - Beneath his rough exterior is a kind soul. A secret nickname given to him by a few of his long term employees was the "LFH," a spin on the BFG standing for Little Friendly Hobbit. Many might have taken offense to that, but Wax would only laugh.
Culturally Versed - Waxton's travels took him around the globe, to more countries than the average person can name. Throughout this time, he has met hundreds of people, each with a story of their own. Time spent with these people has taught him to speak a variety of different languages, educated him on religion and beliefs, and showed him numerous ways of living.

Flaws

Angry-looking - Waxton is a generally pleasant old man cursed with the face of a grouch. His comically furrowed eyebrows and resting frown scare off all those but the people who know him personally. He lives his life perfectly unbothered by this fact.
Small - Waxton's short stature and tiny frame are significant disadvantages in combat. Combined with his lack of experience, his size forces him to keep away from combat as much as possible. Without a proper group, he refuses to leave safe zones unless it is absolutely necessary.
Tardy - If retirement had done anything negative, it had made Waxton blind to time. The only thing he'd ever be early for was a plane ride home. Modern day Wax wakes when it feels right, sleeps when he gets tired, and worries about very little.
