Wulfrin 0 Posted March 31 #1 Share Posted March 31 (edited) The main settlement of Floor Six was at first appearance a peaceful one. The handcrafted architecture played well into the jungle aesthetic of the floor. There was a seamless transition between the surrounding landscape and the settlement as some of the structures were either partially or entirely carved from the trees themselves. The roar of the nearby waterfall created a lovely white noise, just far enough away to break the silence yet quiet enough to not have to do more than whisper to someone. The residents however did not lead to a warm welcome. As Wulfrin traversed the various bridges and paths between buildings, one thing started to become clear. Outside of himself, Wulfrin had not seen another male working. The younger women didn't seem to pay him much attention, but the older ones tended to look at him with disgust. Must be Amazon territory. He thought to himself. Aincrad, in his experience, liked pulling form various mythologies. This floor would be no exception. The source of the disdain was likely his gender. This didn't bother Wulfrin much. He might be treated poorly in some places, but so long as he handled his business and left quickly there would be no issues. Solaris, his phoenix familiar circled overhead. Thankfully the Phoenix was keeping clear of the trees as to not start an uncontrollable fire. * * * Spoiler Stats: Wulfrin | Level 17 | HP 340/340 | EN 54/54 | DMG 15 | MIT 54 | ACC 3 | LD 2 | BLD 24 | PARA | REC 2 Equipment: Dioscuri | TIER 1 JEWELRY | ACC III | ID: #210452-5 [desc.]: a pair of ear cuffs fashioned from precious stone. Wulfrin 0 Posted March 31 Author #2 Share Posted March 31 After a few hours of wandering the floor scoping it out for fishing spots, Wulfrin began to feel a chill run down his spine. Someone was following him, yet every time he turned to see who it was, no one was there. He visited the few shops around that didn't treat him like he was the scum of the earth, collecting a few things for a future house that he was close to having the funds to purchase. As he concluded his shopping trip and returned to the teleport gate the chill came back. "So," An ominous voice echoed behind him. "Wulfrin graces floor six with his presence." "Why have you been following me?" Wulfrin said turning to face the figure not but five feet behind him. He hadn't even heard the person approach. Their features were completely obscured by the hood they adorned. "That is a question not so easily answered," The figure replied. "I've been keeping tabs on your progress. I wish to see if you are as good as my sources say." "So all you want is a clash of blades?" Wulfrin asked. The figure was clearly an NPC, but how could they have been keeping tabs on him. NPCs don't typically have a reach beyond their floor. "Fine then, pick your place and I'll give you the show you ask for." "Very well," The figure's cloak billowed as they pivoted 180 degrees. Something about the figure reminded him of how Freyd could appear and disappear seemingly out of nowhere. Could this NPC have been the one to teach him that? The figure guided Wulfrin out into the jungles of floor six.
Wulfrin 0 Posted March 31 Author #3 Share Posted March 31 (edited) The pair wandered through the Jungle for what seemed like hours. They trudged through so many different areas that Wulfrin had become disoriented. The cloaked figure simply weaved between trees and thickets like they had done it a million times before. As they continued, Wulfrin felt a chill in the air. Something wasn't right about this whole situation. While he had come prepared for a fight, he had done no prep that would typically be done when knowing he would be entering a combat. That may play into his favor, as he wanted to see just how far he had come with just his stats and equipment. No modifiers would be used this fight and all he could do was hope this fight would not be to the death. Then as Wulfrin blinked, the figure was gone. Now he was left entering a clearing where at the center was a small pool of water. Wulfrin was in awe at the small grove before him. It was comforting. The water despite the breeze, was perfectly still creating a perfect reflection of the sky that peaked through the jungle canopy. Pain shot through Wulfrin's back. He drew his blade and spun quickly around. Before him was the cloaked figure, with an arm exposed. He held a blade similar in shape and design as Wulfrin's own. As the figure threw their cloak aside, Wulfrin stood baffled. Before him a young man about twenty six stood, wearing a well crafted red leather coat with armor plates adorning the shoulders and fore arms. A health bar appeared along with a name, The Gemini. Wulfrin faced a reflection of himself, the only differences were a wicked smile, and where most people's eyes were mostly white, The Gemini's were black. The only source of color in them was the crimson red iris. "Whatever happened to fair?" Wulfrin asked with irritation. "I am being fair," The Gemini retorted. "You simply lack the skills to track me." The two rushed each other and clashed blades. The fight was finally on. * * * Wulfrin has full energy Recovery Roll: ID [none] CD: None | +0 EN Post Action: None (surprised) Free Action: None (surprised) Wulfrin | Level 17 | HP 340/340 | EN 54/54 | DMG 15 | MIT 54 | ACC 3 | LD 2 | BLD 24 | PARA | REC 2 The Gemini | HP 510/510 | DMG 136 | MIT 34 | ACC 3 Abilities: Concentration | This boss gains +1 ACC for its first attack. Wulfrin 0 Posted March 31 Author #4 Share Posted March 31 (edited) The sounds of clashing steel rang throughout the grove. Each blow an almost identical mirror to the other. The Gemini had studied Wulfrin's fighting style and was finding the openings faster than Wulfrin was able to decide the next move. Wulfrin recovered from the blade lock and readied his sword skill. A blue light enveloped his blade as the system took over. The Gemini had predicted this move and artfully blocked the strike with his own blade, causing the skill to veer off course. "Come on," The Gemini scoffed. "All the bravado you carry, yet you can't back it up." The Gemini unleashed his attack against Wulfrin. They swung true, carving another large gash into Wulfrin's virtual flesh. The blade was sharp and well cared for and the Gemini knew how to use it with shocking efficiency. "I've faced worse," Wulfrin pivoted and prepared for his second attack. "And I've still got plenty of fight left in me." Wulfrin had to focus his mind. This was less a battle of attrition now. He had lost two attacks to this boss fight, he had to change tactics. His stance shifted. He was less focused on the raw power of the single target sword arts and instead he opted to change to the more strategic technical skills. * * * Wulfrin has full energy Recovery Roll: ID [none] CD: None | +0 EN Post Action: ST-I vs The Gemini (x12, 12 EN) 12 - 2 (stamina) = 10 Energy Free Action: None ID: 221055 | BD 2 + 3 =5 miss Wulfrin | Level 17 | HP 340/340 | EN 44/54 | DMG 15 | MIT 54 | ACC 3 | LD 2 | BLD 24 | PARA | REC 2 The Gemini | HP 510/510 | DMG 136 | MIT 34 | ACC 3 Abilities: Concentration | This boss gains +1 ACC for its first attack. Wulfrin 0 Posted March 31 Author #5 Share Posted March 31 (edited) Wulfrin and The Gemini clashed again. This time Wulfrin held the offensive edge, placing The Gemini on the back foot. Wulfrin unleashed a barrage of sword strikes, to which his opponent could only defend against. On the last hit of his assault, Wulfrin batted The Gemini's sword away. In that brief opening, Wulfrin brought his sword around and slammed the pommel into the opponent's chest leaving behind a crimson trail of light. The Gemini stumbled back as Wulfrin brought his sword to bear for the next attack. He had scored his first blow on his foe, now he just had to keep the pressure up. Wulfrin couldn't help but smile. He was having fun. This fight was going to be the greatest challenge he had actually faced so far, even more so than the Tier Four dungeon he had traveled through. "I've got plenty of tricks up my sleeve," Wulfrin chuckled as he moved in for his second assault. "Don't count me out yet." The Gemini coughed up a bit of virtual blood, but recovered just in time to block the first of the attacks. * * * Wulfrin recovers 4 EN Recovery Roll: ID 221058 CD: 11 | +2 EN Post Action: Tech-A vs The Gemini (x12, 13 EN) 13 - 2 (stamina) = 11 Energy Free Action: None ID: 221060 | BD 9 (+1 DMG) | CD 3 (no ST-B) | 16*12 = 192-34 = 158 DMG to The Gemini | Stun Proc | Bleed Proc | Para Proc Wulfrin | Level 17 | HP 176/340 | EN 37/54 | DMG 15 | MIT 54 | ACC 3 | LD 2 | BLD 24 | PARA | REC 2 The Gemini | HP 386/510 (510 - 124) | DMG 136 | MIT 34 | ACC 3 | STUNNED | P.StunImm. Wulfrin 0 Posted March 31 Author #6 Share Posted March 31 (edited) Wulfrin's HP had already fallen to almost half as the two continued to clash blades. Sparks flew all around them as each impact landed with ferocity. Wulfrin was glad he had decided to allocate some unused points before beginning this trip as they were already paying dividends. He was hitting harder and absorbing a bit more damage than he usually was. His Sword Arts even seemed to drain less of his energy. After another barrage of attacks, The Gemini's defenses broke once again allowing Wulfrin to land another attack with a new Technical Art. He targeted his opponents arm in an attempt to reduce their effectiveness with a blade. The Gemini swung their blade in retaliation forcing Wulfrin into defense. Each attack however, was slightly easier to read than before. The Delay debuff may not do much, but every advantage Wulfrin could gain in the fight made a huge difference. Wulfrin had his guard broken and found another sword slash piercing his virtual flesh. He eyed his own Health Bar as it settled. He could take maybe two more strikes, but that second one would likely be his end. The Gemini let out a cough of blood again before wiping it form his face. "Give up Wulfrin," The Gemini said mockingly as Wulfrin regained his footing. "You are sloppy. You are slow. You are impulsive. You aren't half the swordsman you claim to be." "I wont!" Wulfrin shouted pointing his blade at The Gemini. "So long as I have a single point in my Health Bar, I won't stop fighting! Wulfrin 0 Posted March 31 Author #7 Share Posted March 31 (edited) Wulfrin lunged at The Gemini. A fire had been lit inside him. He was being mocked at every stage of this fight. The Gemini was proving their points well though. Every attack Wulfrin seemed to throw was deflected or sidestepped entirely with the exception of some well placed Sword Arts. The battle was drawing near its end and if Wulfrin didn't regain some ground he would be losing the last of his HP here and now. Wulfrin continued his barrage of attacks until he saw an opening. Again he aimed for the forearm of The Gemini's sword arm. His opponent expected this however and evaded the strike with expert levels of precision. In swift retaliation, during Wulfrin's recovery step of the sword art, The Gemini swiped his blade across Wulfrin's midsection. "You see?" The Gemini Mocked. "I can tell every move you are going to make before you make it. You are nothing in this world except a facade for someone else to hide behind." Wulfrin could only wince as the pain coursed through his body. His Health Bar no more than a sliver of red. Then he saw the stun immunity indicator leave The Gemini's Health Bar that still rest firmly a few points under half. Wulfrin had a shot, a slim one, but a shot none the less. HE stood up from the ground and leveled his blade once more towards his foe. "Let's see how right you are," Wulfrin said through heavy breaths. "I'm ready when you are." * * * Wulfrin recovers 4 EN Recovery Roll: ID 221069 CD: 12 | +2 EN Post Action: Tech-B vs The Gemini (x12, 12 EN) 12 - 2 (stamina) = 10 Energy Free Action: None ID: 221070 | BD 2+3=5 | CD 2 (no ST-B) | miss Wulfrin | Level 17 | HP 94/340 | EN 25/54 | DMG 15 | MIT 54 | ACC 3 | LD 2 | BLD 24 | PARA | REC 2 The Gemini | HP 216/510 | DMG 136 | MIT 34 | ACC 3 | P.StunImm. Wulfrin 0 Posted March 31 Author #8 Share Posted March 31 (edited) The two opponents charged towards each other once more. Wulfrin moved with ferocity and total focus. Each blade collision resulting and a shower of sparks and a loud metallic clang that echoed through the grove. The strikes were so impactful the disturbed the still waters of the pond. Wulfrin was taking full use of his virtual body. It was light and nimble, capable of feats in combat he could only dream of. In here imagination was key. Every movement of your body was controlled by though alone. If you could think it, you could do it, within reason. Wulfrin was dodging and parrying strikes faster and with more skill than he ever had as a kid. He had finally surpassed his previous knowledge. These fights were no longer sessions of relearning how to fight, they were now opportunities to expand. And expand he did. Wulfrin's barrage knocked The Gemini's weapon away again. In that brief opening Wulfrin planted the flat of his blade firmly in his opponent's exposed torso. The Gemini was forced to slide backwards only barely maintaining their composure as they carved two small divots in the jungle floor. A quick glance at The Gemini's Health Bar was all Wulfrin allowed himself to take before rushing in once more for what would be the final assault, for better or worse. * * * Wulfrin recovers 2 EN Recovery Roll: ID 221072 CD: 3 | +0 EN Post Action: Tech-a vs The Gemini (x12, 13 EN) 13 - 2 (stamina) = 11 Energy Free Action: None ID: 221072 | BD 3+3=6 | CD 4 (no ST-B) | DMG 15*12=180-34=146 DMG to The Gemini | Stun Proc Wulfrin | Level 17 | HP 11/340 | EN 16/54 | DMG 15 | MIT 54 | ACC 3 | LD 2 | BLD 24 | PARA | REC 2 The Gemini | HP 70/510 (216 -146) | DMG 136 | MIT 34 | ACC 3 | STUNNED | P.StunImm. Wulfrin 0 Posted March 31 Author #9 Share Posted March 31 (edited) The Gemini regained their footing and leveled their blade. Wulfrin did the same. No words were exchanged, there was no need. Both could understand each other clearly by stance alone. One last engagement to decide the victor. Wulfrin's last attack had leveled the playing field as both combatants now stood one hit away from death. In a flash the two pressed forward. Blow for blow they matched each other exactly. Wulfrin was adapting just like the Gemini at this point. As one would strike, the other would perfectly defend, not giving a single inch of ground away. To an outside observer, it would have most likely looked as if there was only one combatant moving fast enough to create an after image of themself. The two continued to clash until Wulfrin found the moment he was waiting for. "HYAAAAAH!" Wulfrin shouted as his blade erupted with a vibrant yellow light. In one swift strike Wulfrin had managed to disarm The Gemini. Utilizing his momentum, Wulfrin rolled through the attack and snatched up the now free blade and advanced on his opponent. Wulfrin leveled the point of his sword towards his doppelganger's now defenseless form. "I yield." The Gemini said as they held up their hands. "Damn right you do," Wulfrin gasped. He stabbed The Gemini's weapon into the ground and put his own blade away before putting his own weapon away. Dual wielding longswords? Way too inefficient. He held out a hand to The Gemini, helping him to his feet. "Hope that was what you were expecting." * * * Wulfrin recovers 2 EN Recovery Roll: ID 221074 CD: 3 | +0 EN Post Action: Tech-B vs The Gemini (x12, 12 EN) 12 - 2 (stamina) = 10 Energy Free Action: None ID: 221075 | BD 5+3=8 | CD 8 (no ST-B) | DMG 15*12=180-34=146 DMG to The Gemini | Delay proc Wulfrin | Level 17 | HP 11/340 | EN 8/54 | DMG 15 | MIT 54 | ACC 3 | LD 2 | BLD 24 | PARA | REC 2 The Gemini | HP 1/510 (70 -146 -> 0 stops at 1 b/c Defy Death) | DMG 136 | MIT 34 | ACC 3 | P.StunImm. Wulfrin 0 Posted March 31 Author #10 Share Posted March 31 "Everything and more," The Gemini said as they were pulled up form the ground. "I shall leave you be for now, but I will continue to grow my own strength and challenge you again some day." With nothing more left to say The Gemini lay a hand on Wulfrin's shoulder as he passed. Wulfrin turned to watch The Gemini don his cloak again causing their features to again become obscured and dissapeared into the jungle. Wulfrin collapsed immediately after. He had pushed himself to the point of exhaustion. He lay in the soft grass of the grove looking up at the floor above him. Solaris darted down from a nearby tree and eyed Wulfirn up and down with pride as if to say "I'm impressed". Wulfrin analyzed his current numbers. Both of his bars were basically completed. With his energy recovery he may have been able to manage just one more attack, but without being able to avoid most of The Gemini's attacks, his sliver of HP was the defining factor. Had he missed that final attack, it would have been over. "An honorable duel," Wulfrin said to the floor above him. "Next time though, I'd like to know if death is out of the question. I spared the boss, but would they have done the same for me?" * * * HP Recovery: +40HP (11 -> 51) EN Recovery: +1 EN (8 -> 9) (Post 1/3)
Wulfrin 0 Posted March 31 Author #11 Share Posted March 31 (edited) Having fully exited combat, his health and energy had begun to restore. There didn't appear to be any dangerous mobs in the area so Wulfrin figured he was at least safe to recharge here. He made his way to the still waters of the pool. As he gazed in, his reflection seemed to gaze back at himself. Only it wasn't his Avatar, but Lance staring back at him. Once Wulfrin blinked the image faded back to his avatar. Wulfrin pondered his situation in the game. Here he was a swordsman with a dream. He owned his own business and was able to fight side by side with some of the higher level players. Back home, he was just a no name college student, hoping to make a name for himself in a very competitive economy. This life was leagues better than the one out there, but this one was only temporary. His real body lay in a hospital somewhere connected to a bunch of tubes and wires just to keep it alive. In here he was constantly running headfirst into danger and staring down threats to precious ones and zeros. "I won't let this game be the death of this genre," Wulfrin said staring into the pond. "When I get out of here, I'm making the next VRMMORPG. Only I'm not going to trap people in it." With that he pulled out his fishing rod and dropped the bobber into the pond, disturbing its pristine surface. * * * Fishing Attempt: Rank 3 Fisher | Success CD 6+ | Critical LD 10+ | +2 LD for Fishing Chests ID 221082 | CD 4 | fail Nothing found. +3 Fishing EXP * * * HP Recovery: +40HP (51 -> 91) EN Recovery: +1 EN (9 -> 10) (Post 2/3) Edited March 31 by Wulfrin
Wulfrin 0 Posted March 31 Author #12 Share Posted March 31 (edited) Wulfrin continued to watch his energy and health rise. That combat actually allowed him to learn quite a bit about his own fighting style. Up until now he had been simply relearning skills that he hadn't practiced in years. He often left himself open in areas that he could easily defend. The Gemini had found every opening and exposed it without hesitation. Wulfrin had to adapt in that combat. He had almost entered a sort of zen state in that bout. It was almost like The Gemini was teaching him. It was just like his old mentor Mr. Brunner. He always thought the best way to learn a skill was to practice it in a real scenario. When they sparred there was no holding back, each blow was made with the same intent as it would if you were trying to kill your opponent. The regimen was strict and brutal, but it had managed to stick with Wulfrin subconsciously for over ten years years at this point. Wulfrin watched his bobber sit still in the water. Either nothing was in this pool, or they just weren't biting. * * * Fishing Attempt: Rank 3 Fisher | Success CD 6+ | Critical LD 10+ | +2 LD for Fishing Chests ID 221083 | CD 5 | fail Nothing found. +3 Fishing EXP 6 total Fishing EXP this thread * * * HP Recovery: +40HP (91 -> 131) EN Recovery: Full EN (10 -> 54) (Post 3/3) Edited March 31 by Wulfrin
Wulfrin 0 Posted March 31 Author #13 Share Posted March 31 (edited) Wulfrin waited as his energy maxed out. He was till far enough away from his usual margin of safety, with his health point total only just barely getting above the start of the yellow zone that signified half had gone. He stood watching Solaris explore their current space. It was secluded. No animals seemed to make their way here. The other odd thing about the space that Wulfrin had only just started to notice by watching Solaris fly above the canopy was that he could not see the bottom of floor 7. Instead he saw the crystal clear blue sky. It was an odd sight for Aincrad. Spending as much time as he had in the game, Wulfrin feared that when he got out he would feel uncomfortable not seeing a slab of stone above his head. Another thing he would miss was Solaris. Over the last few days he had grown to love the flaming eagle. He offered Wulfrin some much needed company when he went on solo trips like this. Not to mention the help with stoking his forge's flames. * * * Fishing Attempt: Rank 3 Fisher | Success CD 6+ | Critical LD 10+ | +2 LD for Fishing Chests ID 221084 | CD 3 | fail Nothing found. +3 Fishing EXP 9 total Fishing EXP this thread * * * HP Recovery: +40HP (131 -> 171) Edited March 31 by Wulfrin
Wulfrin 0 Posted March 31 Author #14 Share Posted March 31 (edited) The tranquil grove was quite calming. It was acting almost as a safe zone even way out in the wilderness of the jungle. It was welcoming. He held some hope he could come back, but something told him this trip was likely to be his only one to this location. A small tug at his line revealed a small fish. Perhaps it was Cardinal taking pity on him. Wulfrin didn't honestly care at this point he was only killing time while he recuperated some strength. Wulfrin doubted his trek through the jungle would be as safe the second go around. The Gemini had winded through the jungle so easily, it was all Wulfrin could do to keep up and not get lost. The other thing was the forrest felt like it was shifting around them. Even the trees didn't look the same as the ones in the jungle. Wherever he was, Wulfrin was certain that what ever map he was on was not on floor six. SAO continued to impress Wulfrin. Wulfrin 0 Posted March 31 Author #15 Share Posted March 31 (edited) Solaris perched on Wulfrin's shoulder as Wulfrin stowed away his fishing rod. He was having zero luck finding anything out here at this pond and his health was high enough that he felt comfortable going out into the wilderness. As he left the protection of the grove, he felt the air shifting again. The vegetation around him became dense jungle once again. Wulfrin wandered aimlessly for a while trying to find any sort of landmark that he could use to navigate. His map that had up until this point been blurred, was finally clear so at least he could kind of navigate. The jungle was extremely dense, causing Solaris a bit of discomfort. The phoenix enjoyed the open air, but at this moment he couldn't even take flight for all the vines and brush. Despite the difficult terrain, Wulfrin pressed on towards a river he could see on his map. He remembered the waterfall not far from the main settlement, so traveling upstream seemed like his best shot at getting home. * * * Fishing Attempt: Rank 3 Fisher | Success CD 6+ | Critical LD 10+ | +2 LD for Fishing Chests ID 221086 | CD 1 | Fail Nothing Found +3 Fishing EXP 20 total Fishing EXP this thread 1 Material * * * HP Recovery: +40HP (211 -> 251) Edited March 31 by Wulfrin
Wulfrin 0 Posted March 31 Author #16 Share Posted March 31 (edited) As Wulfrin reached the river, he let out a sigh of relief. He could see his destination not far from him since the river was large enough to part the canopy. At the very least he finally felt like he knew where he was going. Then he heard the sound of brush moving. Two tigers made themselves known as they prowled out from the thicket. No doubt they were a mated pair looking to turn Wulfrin into a meal. Wulfrin had enough combat for one day, but there was no escaping this one. He drew his sword and prepared to strike. He opened as he usually did with random mobs in a group. His AoE stun skill that he had picked up from his martial arts quest provided a useful opener for combats like this. It usually allowed Wulfrin to get a few shots in on them before they could strike back. This time was no different. Wulfrin did miss his first attack, but the second tiger was left stunned. The male of the group lunged at Wulfrin. Compared to The Gemini, the attack was slow and easy to avoid. Wulfrin 0 Posted March 31 Author #17 Share Posted March 31 (edited) In one swift motion Wulfrin moved to unleash his Horizontal Square skill. The blow landed forcefully. Wulfrin's attack was violently more powerful than he was intending. This was likely due to his body instinctually fighting with all it had. It wasn't a bad thing to be fair, just a bit awkward to the swordsman. The first tiger fell to the paralytic aspect of his blade and began to bleed profusely form the wound as the second shattered into a million tiny fractals. It only took another second for the other tiger to follow suit. Wulfrin returned his blade to its scabbard calmly. It was almost child's play, that combat. Wulfrin had definitely improved by leaps and bounds during his battle with The Gemini. Tigers defeated and their looted items collected, Wulfrin started to travel upriver along the bank. He planned to stop just outside the city's borders to try the waters here, but he wouldn't stay long. Wulfrin 0 Posted March 31 Author #18 Share Posted March 31 (edited) At least he was in a familiar place now. He found a nice secluded spot just inside the safe zone that was out of view of the locals. He really didn't feel like dealing with the disdain he had received upon arrival from some of the denizens. He pulled out his fishing rod and prepared to relax for a bit. Finally he would be safe for a while. This trip wasn't as unbearable as the one in floor five, but it still had its own unique challenges that made Wulfrin not want to return unless on very specific business. Regardless at this point he had come all this way and needed to relax a bit. Wulfrin retrieved his fishing rod and cast the bobber into the fast flowing river. Solaris perched himself regally on his master's shoulder. Wulfrin sat himself on a nearby boulder. The bobber moved up and down with the waves of the river. "What do you thing Solaris?" Wulfrin 0 Posted March 31 Author #19 Share Posted March 31 (edited) Wulfrin let out a sigh as the water rushed by. Time ticked by as Wulfrin relaxed along the riverbed. Solaris simply snoozed away restlessly. This wasn't the warm floor 5 or the fires of his forge, so Wulfrin understood. Unfortunately because of the system's limitations, Solaris couldn't go very far on his own. It was a pleasant day at least all things considered. Now all that was left was to get a few things for his trouble. Wulfrin waited for several hours fighting the exhaustion of the day. Here in this secluded spot, he could have drifted into sleep on the spot. Solaris was not helping the situation either. Wulfrin was startled by a tug at his fishing line. Quickly Wulfrin heaved the catch up to the surface. A chest shattered into a million fractal motes of light leaving behind an info panel with its contents. Satisfied with the find and fighting the sleep, Wulfrin stood from his makeshift chair and clapped twice startling Solaris awake. The phoenix, seeing its master ready to leave, took its perch on the right shoulder. Wulfrin 0 Posted March 31 Author #20 Share Posted March 31 (edited) Wulfrin maneuvered through the maze of bridges to the Teleport Gate. As he entered the plaza where it was located an info window appeared. His house had finally gotten approved and was now his. Wulfrin dismissed the window with haste. A renewed energy flushed over him. For the first time he was going to finally sleep in a bed he owned. Not a bench in a soot filled forge or a crappy overpriced inn, but a soft bed just for him. Wulfrin rushed the final steps he needed to get to the teleport gate. As he did he saw out of the corner of his eye, a cloaked figure disappearing into the shadows. The Gemini was still here and not likely to go anywhere. Wulfrin could always come back and challenge him again should he want to test his mettle. That was an adventure for another day.
