"Alright we'll be starting with Ugzeke," Wulfrin said as he stepped off the warp gate. "I've got a list of bosses I'd like to take down now that I'm capable of fighting on the frontlines. I also plan to head back down to Floor 9 and kick around Cerberus for a bit. The Blazing Bite Sword Art is my next big goal for collecting, but I have to take down the weaker Cerberus first. I don't think we'll be able to get away with leveling down this time, as we will need everything we've got."

In contrast to his simple fishing get up, Wulfrin was wearing a completely closed red coat adorned with patters of phoenix feathers that almost identically matched his familiar's plumage. At his hip the new blade Icingdeath rest in its ornate black scabbard. from where the cross guard met scabbard, a slow moving mist seemed to pour out, like that of dry ice. Wulfrin had only used the blade a handful of times at this point, but was very impressed with how keen its diamond edge was. Today it would get put through it's ultimate test. This could likely be the last chance Wulfrin got to practice with it before the raid, and he wanted to be ready.

"Anyway," Wulfrin continued. "The first will be Ugzeke. Then I figured Cerbie before we take on Piasuhan."

"A sound plan."  Freyd's eyes were focused on the dark elves and darker shadows of Kalanaes.  This place held many secrets and malicious memories, many of both still lingering or festering to this day. "It would be best if we keep moving," he urged them along from beneath his cowl.  Any of them who turned would note that the Whisper's appearance had changed, skin darkening as his hair did the opposite.  Unruly black became shock of tempestuous white.  A rueful grin was the only admission on the man's face as his features morphed to better suit their surroundings.  Even his clothing had taken on subtle features better suited to local fashion, though his normal garb required little to adapt.

"Ugzeke is slow, but durable and able to womp hard if he gets mad enough.  He and I go way back.  I've killed him dozens of times already, so it really shouldn't be hard to get him pissed off." Flippant in its delivery, his comment was spot on.  He'd probably slain this more more times than anything that wasn't pure fodder for a grind. 

"This way," he urged, taking them down a side passage and away from the gates.  "The tolls they charge here are exorbitant, and the guards are total assholes.  I can sneak us out through a side passage that has proven handy for smuggling supplies out to other nearby outposts."  A grimmer smirk, this time.  "Let's just say that the Dark Elves haven't always been the best neighbours."

Ciela looked at both Wulfrin and Freyd in confusion. She wouldn't admit it to them but they were basically speaking gibberish to her. She knew as long as Freyd was here, there wasn't any reason to be a-freyd. She chuckled to herself at the pun.

Determined to stick close to Freyd and Wulfrin, she was careful not to wander off. She knew that staying together was the best way to navigate this unfamiliar place, and she was more curious than concerned about what lay ahead. What would they run into, who would they meet?

"So, Ugzeke—is he like the other creatures we’ve faced on past quests? I just want to be ready, you know, in case I’m about to get smacked around", She chuckled awkwardly and quietly. Her thoughts turned to the challenges ahead, but rather than feeling apprehensive, she felt a sense of anticipation. Whatever came next, she was ready to face it alongside her friends.

Violet Cracked her knuckles, a skewer roll sticking out of her mouth. "Well, at least I know this is gonna be eventful." she said dryly, looking at freyd with an amused look. "With how often I've heard of you beating down ol' Ugzeke, I'd imagine this would be pretty old hat for you huh Freyd? Don't think I've fought either of them, though, so this should be a brand new experience on my end." She swallowed the rest of the food, a satisfied sigh escaping her throat. "Between all of us, this should be a cakewalk, yeah? Ciela, this is gonna be your first actually challenging fight, so I'd suggest being cautious okay? Even if you've got better MIT than both me and freyd, that doesn't mean you want to be taking any of these hits from either of these guys."

Violet held out a bag towards Wulfrin, a grin on her face. "You should probably buff up now before we go and fight these guys, yeah? I know it'll make cerbie a bit boring, but its better safe than sorry!" inside the bag was another skewer roll, a Damage Potion, and a MIT potion. "The roll is pretty tasteless, but its gonna give you a boost in damage, same with the Liquor. The other potion is for MIT, since it looks like that's the one area you're kinda lacking in"

"Yeah I took a big hit to my mitigation," Wulfrin said in between bites and gulps of his given consumables. "I had a set of Light Armor chilling in my inventory from forever ago that had Fireproof on it. Unfortunately it was only tier one so I opted to make it a tier less item that I can swap out in the event of superheated bosses or floors. It boosts my evasion so I hope that's enough to keep me alive. I mainly have to worry about AoEs, but I do have a more durable armor set to wear for raids. Still a mitigation drop but not near as bad."

Wulfrin overlooked the sprawling Dark Elven city that they were going to traverse. He felt exposed. Up until now he had had decent enough mitigation to afford to take the occasional hit. Now he couldn't afford that luxury. For now he'd play it safe and allow the tanks to do their thing. Freyd would likely fill that roll today, as Wulfrin felt Ciela might not be able to handle the field bosses attacks.

"Let's get started then," Wulfrin said as he scarfed down the last of his consumables. "Lead on Freyd."

Ciela glanced at Freyd, a hint of resignation in her voice. "So, I guess you're going to handle this guy? I’m not sure how much help I’ll be here—might have to take the backseat again." She mentally prepared herself for what was ahead. With a reluctant sigh, Ciela followed Freyd toward the entrance to the Underdark, the usual battleground for his clashes with Ugzeke. She loathed the darkness; Wulfrin often complained about the lamp she insisted on keeping lit while she slept.

As they moved deeper into the shadowy caverns, every little sound sent a jolt of anxiety through her. When the ground started shaking, Ciela exchanged looks with Wulfrin, Freyd, and Mina. In the distance, she spotted the hulking figure of Ugzeke, and a wave of dread washed over her.

The tremors grew stronger as they approached, the ground shaking under Ugzeke's colossal weight. Summoning all her strength, Ciela unleashed a powerful sword art, aiming it directly at the troll. But as the attack connected, Ugzeke remained unscathed. Damn it. "That’s all I’ve got! I can’t hurt him much." Ciela exhaled in frustration, stepping back from the towering troll.

"Give it a bit," Wulfrin said as he pat Ciela's armored shoulder. "If you can't damage him stack up some effects like stun, delay, or even shatter."

Wulfrin drew his blade and made a run at Ugzeke. To prove a point, he slammed the pommel of his blade into the back of the troll's head. The giant staggered and stumbled. Wulfrin mainly was doing it as a precaution. He knew Ugzeke would likely ignore their little party, but there was the slimmest chance their attacks would not go unnoticed. That and Freyd could chunk the beasty's hit points, at least in theory anyway. Wulfrin landed back on the ground and let out a sharp whistle. Solaris was the size of a housefly compared to the giant troll, but his talons still left a lasting mark on the troll's hide.

"This will be a cake walk," Wulfrin said, slightly over confident. "HIt him hard and fast before that rage kicks in!"

Violet shrugged at Freyd's comment about the dark elves being problematic neighbors. "I try to steer clear of this floor, honestly. This place is a little too dark for my liking, you know?" she sighed, looking through her menus with a frown. "And Wulfrin, I really do suggest getting some better MIT options, If Ugzeke decides to slam all of us, you're going to be the one hurting the most." Speaking of Ugzeke, the giant field boss had apparently decided to go ahead and spawn, Wulfrin and Ciela both immediately charging in to try and knock him down to size.

Violet let out a whistle as she looked up at the massive ogre, a feral smile crossing her face. "Shit, is that what the big guy looks like?" she flicked ember, looking over at Freyd, amused. "You're telling me you fight this guy on the regular? Wonder if its AI remembers you... that'd honestly be pretty neat if I'm being honest!" She pulled Ember close to her chest, before hurling it forward, the weapon glowing white-hot as it cut through the naturally tough skin of the field boss, Ugzeke letting out a frustrated roar as it attempted to catch the bladed fan. A few moments later, just like clockwork, Ember landed in her outstretched hand. "There we go! I think I'm getting the hang of using these things!"

"Don't sweat it, Ciela.  Wulfrin's got the right idea, and Mina's the really ass-kicker in our party.  I just quote elven poetry at the mobs until they get really mad and focus all their hate on my poor pronunciation."  A smirk threatening to grow into a proper Cheshire grin graced the left side of his lips as Mina moved in, ready to try in her new toy.  Fan and flare all in one, it suited her personality well, though he still struggled at grasping the physics of how the thing function as they did.  

"The Underdark's not so bad, once you get used to it," he replied, chuckling slightly at their guiding light's distaste for darkness.  How could one exist without the other?  Should light be fond of that which enables it to shine?  "And there's a certain brutal honesty to the way things work down here.  Assume it wants to eat you, kill you, possibly take your stuff, also maybe all of the above, and not in the order anyone would want to ponder for too long."

Suppressing a cheer when Mina womped their opponent, it wasn't exactly smart to make more noise than necessary down here.  But Freyd was genuinely pleased to see his friend enjoying herself and venting a little built up tension at the same time.  "Nice one!  If you want a little background about prodding mobs to see whether or not they can remember things, this dude's probably not your best candidate.  Uggy's not really all that alert, at the best of times.  But Wulfrin could fill you in about Abdullah.  I've been prodding that arrogant ass for a hell of a long time."

Weaving his way wide to the west, gaining vantage and a proper launching point from a nearby ledge, Freyd hurled himself high where Mina struck low.  Their combined assaults nearly knocked off half the mob's abundant health in their opening salvo.  

"Oh, and remind me to fill you in about the red lily and her Sundered Spire," he added in a notably less jovial tone.  "Mobs with memories can have more serious consequences than we all might want to consider."

Ciela stood amidst the chaos, her ears tuned to the words of encouragement from Wulfrin, Freyd, and Mina. Her focus sharpened as Wulfrin suggested to shatter the boss. She nodded firmly, her lips curling into a determined smile. Perfect. Something I can actually do.

She tightened her grip on her shield and her blade. Drawing in a deep breath, she sprang forward with practiced precision and grace. Her movements were fluid yet forceful, each step closing the gap between her and the hulking troll. At the last moment she slid through the troll's legs now standing behind Ugzeke. With a powerful and steady strike she activated her sword art at just the right moment. Though her strike was clean, her blade barely carved through Ugzeke's defenses from below. Ciela's heart pounded in her chest, Damn. His mitigation is high. She gritted her teeth.

Dusting herself off, Ciela took a step back to assess the damage. Though she hadn't done much damage, she masked her disappointment with a touch of humor. "Alright guys," she called out, her voice carrying toward the group. "That last attack? Totally got him on the ropes." Her tone was dripping with sarcasm, accompanied by a playful chuckle. Hoping the levity would keep spirits high, after all when all of them got together, they usually kept it fun.

"You're doing great honey!" Wulfrin cheered on his beloved as they continued to swarm the giant like a bunch of gnawing gnats. "Keep up the shatters and we'll be done in no time at all!"

Wulfrin's blade was engulfed in the furious light of his strongest sword art as he closed the distance between himself and Ugzeke in an instant. In keeping with the gnawing gnat analogy crawling around in his head, Wulfrin used the momentum of his swings and the countless ripples across the idle giant's body. Each strike left massive gashes in Ugzeke's hide. Wulfrin came to rest on the ground in a three point landing sliding back a few feet from his landing point. With a quick glance at his target's HP bars, and Wulfrin could tell they were nearing the end. With any luck they could fell the giant before it unleashed its attack.

"Freyd! Mina!" Wulfrin called out to grab the attention of his fellow frontliners. "Think we can fell this guy before he goes berserk? If not you'd better be ready to take a hit Freyd!"
