[PP-F25] Dragon Hunter's Anth—No, Wait. Wrong Questline. | <<Trouble Brewing>>

Recommended Posts

Wulfrin rushed the dragon once more. He kept low to the ground and as under the beast as he could. Less likely to get munched on that way. It was however,  a good way to get stomped into the ground. Luckily it seemed that his companions were taking massive chunks out of the dragon's health bar. The massive amount of DoT that were stacked on it were definitely helping too. Wulfrin slid under the dragon's belly, dragging Icingdeath deep into the dragon. Wulfrin must have hit something vital again, as ice began to creep out of the wound and the boss's dwindling hp bar dropped by another significant amount. The ice didn't stick, just like the first time he tried it, but the rest of Wulfrin's effects became refreshed. As Wulfrin recovered, now standing just under the dragon's snout, he assessed their current progress. One, maybe two solid hits were all that were needed. A well placed shot from Freyd would also serve as a decent enough substitute. The dragon had proven to be a much easier endeavor than Wulfrin had originally anticipated.

yeah, okay. night figured she would've landed the hit against the dragon. its health was so low that it practically begged for death at this point so they could all go home (she projected). but it clearly wasn't desperate enough to be vanquished, or night herself was simply too frustrated over the entire ordeal of having to cull a dragon in the middle of a labyrinth that was largely hostile, filled with insects and generally inhospitable, while also having this be of scheduled importance. she'd blinded herself on the swing, whiffed her attack, and then rolled and tumbled as though her sword had connected in the first place.

screw it. she totally did hit that dragon, dude. who wouldn't have hit the largest dragon in the world? night rolled her eyes and pretended to be elsewhere otherwise. she briefly contemplated on siding with the dragons on future attempts at this, just so she could emphasize how cardinal-supportive she seemed to be lately. as a joke.

Preferring a guaranteed hit over power, it was all the situation required.  The rest of the party had already flensed the thing to bitses, every part handing on by a virtual thread.  Har har.  Swapping weapons as he moved, Freyd whirled and went for an unexpected weak spot: the pinky claw on its left leg - not back one, not the front leg it could also use as an arm, because dragons were weird.  Centaurs never had this problem, being considerate enough to bring an extra, proper set of arms and keep their legs as legs.  Where was he?  Oh.  Right.  Dragon.

He must have hit the giga-gecko, because it wasn't there anymore and it was raining shiny death bits all around.

"Good job team," he called out, already looking for his chalk outline.. err.. line.  Escape line.  He just wanted out, at this point and was eager for them to return to the exit do they could go their separate ways.  There were things to be done, like finding centaurs and engaging in a deep and very confusing one-sided conversation about arms versus legs.

Between Freyd hunting down his chalk marks and NIGHT constantly checking her back for spiders, Star figured it was time to head out. "Okay, okay. Thanks for coming everyone. You can invoice me for your time, or something."

He spotted the white marks they'd left along the walls. "This way to fresh air," he called, leading the party towards the exit. Chalk really was a lifesaver. Never get caught in the maze without it. You could get stuck in there for weeks, forced to live off the legs of phase spiders without ever knowing what time of day it is. Thankfully, that would never happen to Morningstar, because he was smart, and not directionally challenged whatsoever.

Some time later, Star came back. The dragon had been far easier than he had anticipated, and he was confident he could complete a quick and easy solo run. He wandered in, having packed a day's worth of meals and a can of bug spray. A few feet into the maze, he realized what he had forgotten. "Oh, shit."

He spun around, only to see that the maze had begun to change. The entrance was no longer behind him. "Oh, shit."
