Escudo de Protection 0 Posted September 1 Author #21 Share Posted September 1 (edited) With her warm reception, he could at least feel a little reprieve from his experiences. Was it always this easy to make friends? Perhaps. Perhaps not. Two worlds collided from different places and brought upon a common goal. With a thought of encouragement, he had forgotten that he had an AoE attack that could use a spinning spear attack. "That would be most gracious, mi amiga. I don't have much to offer but company is always welcome when you cannot rest." With a little bit more bravery, he spun his spear in a circular motion at the two little boars. Unfortunately for him, he missed. Both of them. The good news was that the attention was brought to him and the one little boar missed him too. Stalemate for the time being as he readied his spear once more in front of him. "So, your friends. Are they also DPS like you?" He would question her but keeping an eye on the two creatures he had antagonized. Hopefully, he did not bite off more than he could chew this time. While he was talking, the other one took the opportunity to strike him in the back causing him to fall forward. Battle Maid 0 Posted September 1 #22 Share Posted September 1 (edited) Reese, supposedly feeling more confident would attempt an area of effect attack against two of the boars. The stakes were getting a little high now with the pressure of having multiple targets. "Careful, watch your health and switch with me if you need it." Tokki will say. The boars would strike, one missing quite easily but the second one would strike him in the back and knock him down after he asked her a question. Just as she attempted to follow up with an attack against that boar she would slip and miss it. "Damn! Let me take one off you if you get hit again!" She was worried that he might be taking too much aggro and would find himself at low HP if she didn't assist him, or worse - Die. That would be completely awful to experience on a first quest considering they had no second chances. Escudo de Protection 0 Posted September 1 Author #23 Share Posted September 1 (edited) Perhaps this was more than he could chew. Perhaps he was going to be in extreme danger. While he missed with another charged AoE charge, his eyes furrowed and stared at the boars that dodged him. However, the one seemed to lunge at the same time and missing him as he stepped to the right slightly to escape danger. He felt anxiety, excitement, and terror all at the same time. This was dangerous but what was this life if they couldn't face these two. His eyes narrowed slightly as he wandered what to do at the moment. His eyes locked onto Tokki, whose concern mattered to him. He nodded slightly as watched the other boar miss Tokki running pass her. It was trying to figure out who to strike but now faced to look at Reese. At least, it missed. It would be his chance to at least take on some more boar hits and perhaps take a rest afterwards. "Gracias, amiga. I will do what I can to avoid them and also at the same time keep them. I thank you for taking one for the time being." He offered a reassuring nod and readied for another stance with his spear readied. Battle Maid 0 Posted September 1 #24 Share Posted September 1 (edited) Thankfully, he wouldn't meet the end of another attack but their chance to hit was rather low. Every turn seemed like they were missing attacks and the boars were just the same. It would have probably been smart for them to have acquired some items that increased their accuracy. They could also attempt to sedate them but getting combat experience seemed more useful. "If you need to take a break feel free. I didn't invest in a sword art yet because I need to do a quest to unlock hand-to-hand combat. I have ranks in armor though so they do a lot less damage to me." Luckily one of them had decided to turn it's attention her, which she was fine with. She had 20 HP to give and they couldn't do more than one damage to her at a time. It ran by her to which she simply sidestepped and attempted to kick back at it. Of course, it avoided her yet again much to her frustration. Escudo de Protection 0 Posted September 1 Author #25 Share Posted September 1 (edited) He was still having fun, but his anger was a little bit more intense than fun at the moment. He was tired of missing and swung his large spear around in a spinning motion and did a half-moon crescent sweep. This time, his blade struck deep in both of them as he used his one hand to swing as hard as he could. The pixilation of red glass was seen as both boarlettes were swept in the devastating strike for a level 1 player. Eyes blinked several times as he finished the swing only to fall on his ass staring at Tokki. He couldn't help but let out a laugh as he looked over at her for a moment. Perhaps a little frustration was needed to fuel this strike as he felt the adrenaline subside within him. "They are annoying. It helped to get through it though. I tend to lose my temper a little bit when it's frustrating like that." The feeling of his energy depleting was becoming more evident as he took a deep breath. He realized that he would also have to get an ability to recover that as well. Spoiler Action: Attacking Boar 3 and 4 with AOE Success. Battle Maid 0 Posted September 2 #26 Share Posted September 2 (edited) "I can understand that, you take a break and I'll take down another boar down in the meantime so we don't sit here for too long. Hopefully this will be the last objective for us." Tokki will say, offering Reese the moment to regain his HP. She would engage the closest boar without hesitation. With a quick burst in, she would catch it off guard and put her foot into its face with a strength to knock it on it's ass. It reeled so heavily from her attack that it didn't even have the chance to retaliate. "That felt good with how much these things have been dodging us!" The maid would exclaim as she waited for her attack to come back off cooldown so she could finish it off. If she missed another easy attack she would spare no small amount of wrath against this poor little baby boar. Escudo de Protection 0 Posted September 2 Author #27 Share Posted September 2 (edited) Not one to back down, he was slowly standing up and stared at the teen with the boar. With spear ready to roar, he would take advantage of the boar missing upon the girl. He lunged forward and the tip simply slipped through the boar shattering it to pieces this time with ease as he looked at Tokki. "Two may have been a little too much, but I promise I can do a bit harder work." He stood there where the shards were still breaking apart. He dusted off his clothing while looking at the other small baby boars in the distance. They just needed one more to at least clear this as they were ready to go back. He stretched a bit and wiped the sweat off his brow as he slowly made way to the next target careful not to engage in it. "It's exciting to do this with the two of us. I have to admit that I was a little standoffish with parties. But when you volunteered, it made me feel a bit better not to do this by myself." He spoke softly and slow to ensure she could understand him with his accent. He knew sometimes when he spoke fast, it was difficult for others. Battle Maid 0 Posted September 2 #28 Share Posted September 2 (edited) Despite her telling him to take a rest, he didn’t seem to want to sit around. That was fine since they only needed one more boar beaten now. If she engaged first she could easily keep its attention. “Gotcha, you’re doing just fine.” She’ll simply respond, turning her attention to the last prey they would set their eyes on for this part of the quest. Hopefully it was the last. Charging in with vigor, Tokki would throw her metal-clad foot into its face the same way she did the last. Her sneak attack was not as successful this time around though. He foot flied past its face, cause the little beastie to squeal and thrash about and knocking the maid to the ground. Again, the danger of wearing a short skirt caught her off guard, to which she quickly fixed as she stood back up cleaning herself off. “I’m gonna bust your skull.” Her more serious tone would have sent chills down anything that wasn’t a walking 20lbs of bacon. Escudo de Protection 0 Posted September 2 Author #29 Share Posted September 2 (edited) Her voice sent shivers down his back as she threatened the boarling. It was just an innocent tiny creature that they had to kill at the beginning, but he felt that the wrath was due to the fact of the wardrobe malfunction. Eyes shifted away immediately as the teen fixed herself to be proper. He cleared his throat when she finished as he turned a slight red from the entire interaction. Going back to reality, he would spin his spear around in circles as he focused his aim to the creature. It wasn't long before he performed an overhead spear strike onto the existing pile of pixels that crashed as he targeted the single point upon the creature's head as it was distracted by her. It almost felt like the spear tip caught on fire in his eyes as he slammed it deep and thus struck down into the dirt that caused it to stick. "It looks like this fight is over." He used almost all of his energy into these strikes. His body felt a little heavy. Was this triggered to be like reality? Perhaps. Perhaps it was just a mental state of mind. He picked up the final tusks and flashed a fanged smile at her. "Shall we go?" Spoiler Action: Single Target Rank 1 Strike 229379 10 7 6 8 Escudo De Protection Hard Critical! Battle Maid 0 Posted September 3 #30 Share Posted September 3 (edited) The duo had completed their objective just before Battle Maid was about to lose her cool on the annoyance that was these mobs. She would really need to work on getting those accuracy enhancing items it seemed. After a calm and collected sigh, Tokki would turn to Reese with her tone fixed from her last statement. “ナイスクリティカル. Nice hit.” She would, again, start walking towards their next objective. “Yeah let’s finish this quest up. Though, call it a hunch but I think we’re still going to go on one more excursion. We’ve been taught how to gather, now how to fight. I expect there will be a final quest that might combine the two. Game designers tend to create depth in a way that’s easy to understand like that for people who are new.” She’ll explains as the two traveled through the safe zone. Entering Lyle’s smithy again, she would be more than correct about one thing: The quest wasn’t finished. They would trade the tusks they acquired to get him to actually listen and he would quickly explain that he was in fact not the one that lended the money from the mayor. He would point them to Pete, a fisherman who seemed more likely to have asked for a loan. ”Well, hopefully the experience is good.” Tokki would say, turning to the updated quest marker and taking the lead. Escudo de Protection 0 Posted September 3 Author #31 Share Posted September 3 The life of a player they be. This quest was begrudgingly long as they made way toward back to the Smith. He listened to her words as the spear was placed on his back. "Que? There might be more you say?" He stared at her a moment with a little bewilderment. Dios Mio! He screamed in his head. This was good practical experience and knowledge though. He couldn't complain as they hit the black smith. True to her word, she was correct. He took a deep breath through his nose and staring at Smith. It was a good thing this reality was fake as he would have smashed the Blacksmiths face if he was out to collect money for his boss. He knew it was an intentional quest, so he took it easy. His eyes simply became slightly tired from this as he spoke to her. "While this is fun and all, I find this long. I do wonder what is in store next though." He trucked along together meeting the ol' fisherman Pete. His eyes locked upon his as he listened to NPC's conversation about what they needed to do. "It sounds simple. I guess." He mused as he looked over at Tokki.
Battle Maid 0 Posted September 3 #32 Share Posted September 3 (edited) “Quests like these tend to be long on purpose so newbies can absorb the knowledge in a slow fashion. Trying to throw information in someone’s face who has little context for these things can easily overwhelm them.” Tokki will explain. “It’s probably a little easier for you since I’m here and you can bounce questions off me.” The duo would find themselves heading to a lake now, shocker. The fisherman is out on a lake. Pete didn’t seem like the nicest man but he got his point across without wasting any time like Lyle did. He would tell them that he was in fact the one that Dorian lent the money to and that he would transfer them the payment once they helped him sort through the scarpe he had fished up. Probably the easiest thing she’d have to all day! She would immediately get started on it sift through scrape like be maid was actually her job. Or perhaps it was just the roleplay kicking in. And find it quickly she did! Merely pushing the scrape to the side would reveal the chest in question. Escudo de Protection 0 Posted September 3 Author #33 Share Posted September 3 (edited) The explanation? Easy to understand and at least, this was a lot easier than the other objectives. He stretched a bit and found himself looking through the trash. Eyes would rifle through the entirety of it all looking at what could potentially seem to be a chest. His eyes locked onto hers as soon as he heard her proclaim it was easy and that she had found one. Perhaps, just perhaps, he would have the same luck as her. "Ah, bueno!" He expressed for her success. He would venture a little further in the pile and as time passed, he would find his own. It took a little, but at least they wouldn't have to wait long as he revealed his chest and hurriedly carried it back to them. "Muy fácil!" His face lit up with an actual smile. It was quite literally his genuine smile that he was proud of finding a chest. Soon he set it down sat on it in front of the fisherman and looked at Tokki. "What do we do now? She wasn't not going to open it after digging it of there after all. She would give the lock on it a hefty kick and push the lid open with her foot to reveal a paltry sum of Col and some random consumables. They weren't really useful as is but maybe having a small, spare health potion wasn't the worst idea. They could probably even scrap anything they considered trash for Col somewhere. "Well, not the big haul you were expecting Pete but there it is." She'll tell the fisherman then look to her companion. "Let's see if my luck is bad or if it's supposed to be like that." She'll say, pausing for a moment then adding: "Or if both of our luck is just bad, I guess." She'll intently watch him open his chest after closing the lid of hers and taking a seat atop of it. Escudo de Protection 0 Posted September 3 Author #35 Share Posted September 3 (edited) He watched the young girl do her thing in opening the treasure chest. He hadn't ever imagined that it was possible for him to look at treasure chests like that and his attitude changed. The ability to actually look for treasure chests and experience finding treasure was indeed satisfying. Even if it was an insubstantial amount, the thrill was still there. He hopped off his treasure chest immediately and stared at it squatting down. Red eyes narrowed at it as he tapped the hard outer portion of it trying to figure out the best way to open such a chest. He could get addicted to this as he remembered all she did was kick it. With that, he just hammered his fist down on top of the chest and heard a click. "Oye!" He slowly opened it. He was half expecting the same thing with what Tokki got. He took a deep breath and looked at the contents. His eyes perked up as he noticed a shield. He picked it up gleefully and showed Tokki.
