Laika 0 Posted August 18 #1 Share Posted August 18 “Okay… this is nothing… you can do this, just… just focus…” The Town of Beginnings was nowhere near as full as it was before, but there still were a few people around as the nervous yet willing Tank stepped into the plaza. Decked out in plate armor with the standard long shield and one white, eye-catching Khopesh hanging from his hip, Laika looked like any old, highly-experience veteran just visiting the first floor. It would be both hard to tell— with his taller stature and broad appearance— and easy to see— considering that his hands were shaking harder than a wet dog— that he was a mere level one newbie. “Okay this is a lot— a WHOLE lot. Need to focus… just need to focus on getting through this…” His muttering likely drew the attention of anyone around him, considering that he was also looking all over the place for seemingly nothing, although his eyes did not dart behind him… Laika | Lv. 1 | HP 20/20 | EN 20/20 | 6 DMG | 3 ACC | 0 EVA | 18 MIT Spoiler Equipment Angel Wings | T1 Perfect Weapon (Curved Sword) | DMG III A white khopesh with an ebony black handle. Nymoria 0 Posted August 18 #2 Share Posted August 18 The Town of Beginnings was far busier than it usually would be at this time of day, people having arrived early in order to get a start on…something. Although what, Nymoria couldn’t say for sure. She’d seen – and been part of herself, if she were being honest – a sudden influx of players coming out and joining the fight for freedom; good in the long run, but meaning that normally empty and void streets were now littered with up and coming individuals who would normally have stayed within their residences, or safe areas. At least it means that there’s more help for those fighting on the frontlines. That’s always a good thing. She thought to herself as she passed by another group of lost and confused players. She considered offering guidance, pointing them in the right direction, but they’d shifted away at the last second as they seemed to find what they were looking for. A soft shifting in her blouse pocket bore the face of the brown and white weasel that had tucked itself inside and away, popping out to glance around the edge of the small chestplate that was all of Nymoria’s protective gear. Musei had taken a liking to the area, small enough to fit inside the pocket, wrapping himself comfortably in a ball in a way that made the area stick out oddly. Nymoria had, over time, become used to the odd bulge that it created – although she still received stares every once in a while. Her steps brought her towards another side street, this one filled as much as the previous one. She deftly dodged around a cart that had come to a stop in the middle of the street, her feet carrying her nimbly as she moved towards her destination; the tea shop in the distance calling towards her. It would have to wait, however, as Nymoria spotted an agitated individual in full plate armour, standing in the middle of the street with an appearance of confusion and nervousness. Enough so that his hands visibly shook from the feelings that were so plainly displayed. Cocking her head to the left, she placed her right hand on the sabre that hung from the same side’s hip, moving towards the tall man and looking up at him with a pleasant smile. Her hands shifted into motion suddenly, signing her words – words which would likely come across as a monotonous voice within the player’s mind as Cardinal translated for her. Hello. Are you lost? Something wrong? You look upset. ------ Statblock Spoiler Notes [Theme] Nymoria | Lv. 23 | P. 0 | HP [460/460] | EN [64/64] | ACC [4] | DMG [14] | MIT [36] | BH [+14] | Bleed [36] | Keen [+2 BD] | Recovery [6] Tier 3 | Tier 3 Equipment Silence [Rapier | Tier 3 | Bleed I | Keen II] Enhancement: Bleed [1 Slot] Enhancement: Keen [2 Slots] Suppression [Light Armour | Tier 3 | Mitigation I | Recovery II] Enhancement: Mitigation [1 Slot] Enhancement: Recovery [2 Slots] Hearing Aid [Trinket | Tier 1] Enhancement: Accuracy [3 Slots] Battle-Ready Inventory Uncommon Health Potion {5} [Potion | Tier 1 | Heals 5% Maximum HP] Spyglass {2} | Reduce Search Posts x5 [Dungeon, Familiar, Field Boss] for one thread bento {2} [Meal | Tierless | Oveerhealth III] Teleport Crystal {1} Honey Cookie {20} [Snack | Tier 1 | Vitality II] Skills Spoiler Utility Skills N/A Combat Skills Battle Healing [Rank: 3. Laika 0 Posted August 18 Author #3 Share Posted August 18 “WAHHH!” The player jolted and nearly dropped his shield when the voice piped up in his head. He was absolutely not expecting that, and he looked around before he saw the woman behind him signing. He sighed— whether in relief or anxiety unknown, maybe both— when ye saw that it definitely wasn’t some sort of spirit about to crack his neck or something. There totally aren’t spirits in this game… Hopefully. “Goodness, nearly scared me half to death… uh, well, it’s just it’s my first time outside of my room at the inn… I sort of… holed up once the announcement was made that we couldn’t leave and death was real… b-but anyways, I-I don’t want to stay inside forever and just… waste my life. I want to help! I just… am not sure where to start.” As if on queue, a person with a distinct yellow cursor approached Laika- him specifically, and started chatting him up faster than he could seemingly reply. "You there! Stop, please!" "wait wha-" "Pardon me, but I am in need of some assistance, and you appear quite capable." "i-i do?" "My name is Dorian, and I am the mayor of this town. As part of those mayoral duties, I issued a small loan to a member of the community a few months ago. Well, the time to collect had come around and I-" "h-hang on-" After collecting his thoughts and actually managing to get a few answers in, Laika accepts the quest and lets out a shaky sigh. "Excellent, I knew I could count on you! You might start with Zackariah, the alchemist. He's often doing projects for the town, so it may have been him that borrowed the money." “Well… guess I didn’t have to look far.”
Nymoria 0 Posted August 19 #4 Share Posted August 19 It was moments like these that Nymoria was glad, if only partially and very momentarily, that her hearing wasn’t as strong as everyone else’s. She barely reacted as the player seemed to scream out, loud enough that several people nearby winced in response. She cocked her head to the left a bit further as she stared at him, her eyes seemingly focused upon his face as she tried to follow the lull and agitate of his speaking patterns. A slight nod came from her when he mentioned having holed up within his room, a familiar situation that she had clearly heard and dealt with numerous times before. Any chance of response was, however, taken away from her as the form and voice of Dorian appeared between the two players. Nymoria stood back and watched with a measure of amusement as the player attempted to respond to the mayor’s continuous barrage of comments and questions – words which were clearly designed to be a very one-sided conversation, at least in this instance. Once the two had come to a clear completion of whatever their version of communication was, Nymoria gave a simple wave to the mayor before turning her attention back to the new player, confirming now that they had only just begun their journey. Her hands moved again, creating the monotonous voice for the player to understand her signage. This is the introductory quest. I’m guessing you haven’t done this before. I can come with you, if you would like. I’m familiar with it. The outside world too. She waved a hand towards the walls of the Town of Beginnings, signifying the world beyond it. She’d become truly comfortable with the entire area of the first floor at this point, or at least everything that she had explored. She tossed a welcoming, hopefully friendly smile towards the player, before adding a single, final thought. This quest can take a bit of time though, so I hope you don’t need to do anything else today?
