[F26-PP] Through Hell and High Water (Slime Conundrum)

Within that brief instant as Kasumi can opens the guy, Gaius barks out "Good shit, now get the hell out of there!" to cause her to leap out of harms way. An intense burst of air fills this tiny chamber, sending contents of these piles of bone into shrapnel that scrapes and breaks against the sewer walls. The light within Brionac surges with intention as Gaius turns his shoulder and heaves it. The lance tears through the air, and it doesn't make it more then a few inches before the sound barrier is broken with a massive boom. The energy trapped within it sees it surge forward, drawing not only a green line akin to that of an arrowhead but a trail of smoke as the air is vaporized to steam.

Within the matter of seconds, it finds impact and cuts through clean. About half way through its target all of the trapped power is discharged causing the whole room to fill with a bright flashbang that would cause all inside to lose their hearing and vision. The ground wasn't safe, nor the ceiling. Everything within 10ft of the creature is immediately evaporated, and half of the creature along with it is entirely erased from existence.

Quick Split: On a CD 9+ and LD 10+, the <<Slime King>> will not attack and instead, summon a <<Slime Abomination>> to his aid. A <<Slime Abomination>> can only be summoned once per turn. This skill is deactivated once <<Gelatinous Form>> has activated twice.
Gelatinous Form: Every time the boss’ health reaches 0, two more Kings will spawn, using the next lowest HP available. If a Slime King with the lowest amount of max HP possible dies, he will not spawn any more.

Standard Recovery +4 EN, Charge Refreshed

The small chamber fills with a star like light that causes her to shield her vision from view. Using her arm as a barrier, she shakes off the metaphorical sun that had been born within the room. It only lasts a brief moment but it was making her see spots. Blinking, she fights her view back into function as she winces. As soon as her opportuning fired, Wrath in Cardinal spikes in the Vandilire flame. It matched her aggression, and her moxie but was still a wild and untamed bucket of potent energy. Without warning the skill to which she kept accidently triggering fires again, burning a incorporeal trail of blue from her hands and feet that looked quite a bit like the trail of a spirit. Translucent and thin, like directed mist in a light blue color. Her frame matching that color as she at first was nothing more then a transparent statue of her own appearance, before the color fills in and she dumps that massive cleaver into the remaining portion of her target seeing it splatter and pounded flat like a bunch of grapes in a wine making competition.

Gaius does Gaius things, making the whole room actually explode. Simmone's eyes still fighting to recover, her ears ringing. It seems that whatever tutelage he'd received before had been used accordingly, because this has got to be the first time its ever been this nuts. As her vision returns, the woman manages to barely make out Celeste rushing into combat which causes her own motives to flare. The blade in her left hand builds its own light, and with a sweeping flick, she draws it up in a snapping twist of the wrist. Its brought in front of her face, before the point is extended out in a horizontal line. The handle held firmly and yet limply in her clutches, her fencer training becoming readily apparent. A surge of linear, casts a sharp yet thin purple hued line through the air. With it, she rockets and pops the blade up to its ricasso and stops. Using a heeled boot, she pushes off the target and rips the weapon free like an axe from a wood cutting block.

Standard Recovery +4 EN, 227935 | Recovery CD: 6 (No Proc)

Raidou being patient carefully analyzed his opponent, and was no stranger to facing this creature. What was abnormal however is the size and the fact it seemed to be shrugging off attacks that normally would be more then enough to put it down. He'd look to his team slowly whittling away at its hp bar, and his weapon raked with a sharpened stone sees it light ablaze. In that very moment, Celeste sparks that borrowed flame and it sets the target on fire. Denoted by the bubbling and popping sounds as its skin began to boil and burn away. This causes the wanderer to twist his blade and snuff out the new kindling. The slime is cut in twain and its body remnants gain a set of eyes and teeth, clearly a latch ditch to prevent itself from being torn apart completely. A neutral and careful inaction from the nomad, as he'd yet the need to act. He had to discern the sudden shift in tempo.

As a white light fills the room, the woman doesn't avert her eyes or seem bothered by the sudden flash at all. Her hair flows in sequence with the sudden detonation, being held aloft with the force and flapping angrily in it. As Gaius lands and the slime king's body divides and begins to take a smaller pair of shapes the woman beckons to the room toward the man. "Very good, it seems that encouragement really cemented your capabilities. I am sure that Freya and Arthur would be mighty proud. But their pride would dwarf my own, bearer of the winds of change." A small and coy grin plastered on her face, as her attention shifts to the others within the room. "It seems that he has outpaced you, and quite readily. Perhaps the rest of you need some encouragement as well?" she'd scan them all, as if browsing items on a shelf.

Standard Recovery +4 EN, Vanish Refreshed

An ode to power lights up the room, and with it Kasumi disappears out of sight. The girl narrowly bounds out of the blast, and ends up hunkered on an adjacent wall. As soon as the dust clears, she rockets downward as she kicks off with her feet. Then Kasumi follows with an aerial pivot and dumps her right heel into the top of an awaiting skull, sending it shattering into tiny fragments. Once this axe kick connects, her form immediately disperses into a shower of purple petals that fall wistfully through the air. Another flash of purple sees her appear some couple feet from her primary target. At blinding speed her left foot comes roaring across and catapults the other foe against a nearby wall with a loud thud and followed with a slapping noise. Like a handful of jello the thing splatters and paints the sewer stone in a huge splatter akin to a bunch of green paint tossed out of a can.

The man lands and reaches down to the handle of Brionac, catching Nisahime offering some words of encouragement and catching him in a strange funk. He'd take note of the names mentioned, and visibly confusion is stuck on his face. Somehow she knew that name, to which he'd provided to absolutely no one. Just who the hell was this broad? The shit she'd seem to know was always far too knowledgeable or insightful. As if she had access to their records or something. It was unbelievably jarring. However the man instead of getting heated, choses to let it roll off of him and simply leaves the compliment where it fell. Tapping Kasumi on the shoulder, he caught her breathing heavy and a gentle breeze would wrap her for a moment. "I got your back, lets give this thing hell yeah?". As if right on queue, Celeste knew her target. Ladonia loved this trick after all, numbers. They loved to pour in dozens of troops and try to overwhelm their opposition through mass. Problem was is normally these mooks were just that, pathetic weaklings that could be cut down in droves. Aiming to cut the opposition down to size and prevent the king from reclaiming it she rushes across the chamber. In a surprising and volatile amount of force, her cleaver jumps above her head as she rips it up. It catches in fire, as a burning of blue light sparks in her iris. "FUCK..." The weapon tears down with a brutal vigor, slamming with such a rage fueled force that the ground beneath her feet breaks and floats up from the impact alone. Bricks hit the ceiling as the crater fills with that cobalt blue "YOU..." The woman finishes the sentence with another voice mirroring her own as her foe was no longer. Dead in the formed pyre of what was once floor.

Catching the strange statements from Nisahime, her focus needed elsewhere she choses to ignore whatever crazy thing she was spouting now. That woman loved trying to make them act differently, and was always popping off with something that felt random yet was hardly ever wrong. Celeste seemed completely in a fury to which her breathing was beginning to struggle. Such was the way of such longer encounters, and Simmone can see Gaius doing his best to aid Kasumi which made her choice clear. This was to be an uphill battle clearly, so they were now going to need to keep their strength up. Simmone snaps her fingers and offers a bit of her energy to Celeste, binding their usage together to offset some of the woman's expenditure. This takes the form of a singular gold helix that seems to help itself into Celeste's back. Simmone didn't quite have Shiina's skill for this but it did serve its job.

The flames from Celeste's weapon were beginning to wain, and moreover the creatures attention seemed perplexed and rampant. Such was the way of the cardinal system, with that many large hits the target of its attack would rush to whoever was within its immediate proximity, and some of his party might not be able to sustain such an attack. Especially with this thing being as amped up as it was. Raidou takes the stone in his offhand and rips it down the length of his weapon, lighting it again and without warning its as if he blinks forward. Those with quick enough eyes would see him rush into the fray, exploiting the near complete lack of weight minus his sword. Couple that with his skillset allowing him to overcharge his speed at moments notice and using his gemini skill to spark his reaction time and what follows is a blur of red.

The attack connects and shears through clean, immediately sparking the king into flames and relighting the blue flames already present on his target. The surge of red fills its senses and starts to drown out all but Raidou. A potent toxin that robbed its world.

*Optimal Turn Order*

It would seem that the group of players were now on some sort of damage control, trying to stave off the coming tide of exhaustion. Morrighan clicks her tongue, finding the fact a little discouraging to say the least. "I would have thought by now some of you would have been able to overcome such weakness. Your foe is stronger then your used to? Perhaps this battle is one you cannot succeed?" She'd pressure them further, trying to push them past their self induced limits while also stressing the cardinal's hold upon them. "Come now, not every battle will be simple. Walk the past to which I was, against odds that were hardly in my favor. Only through turmoil does one breed true growth." A spark of silver on her eyes, as the Slime King seems renewed in its own vigor.

"Show me that those chains that were broken were the only thing holding you back, lest you die here and waste all you will become."

The moment to strike was quickly upon her, and she seemed to be the only one ready to capitalize on the newly formed opening. Raidou had compromised the creature in a desirable way, its back exposed as it pivots to greet the red swordsman. Flashbacks to moments in venomous warg, as if muscle memory the woman closes the gap in a matter of seconds. The first few steps were against her own skill stasis, each step quite troubled as the system fought to keep her still. A sudden distortion and her skill lights a bit too early. Her weapon suddenly bleeds in a rich purple, turning black. "That's it my little mocking bird." the voice burns in her ears and heart, as Simmone grits her teeth and pile drives that rapier of hers into that vital spot. The slime king reels and the gained strength falls, it rips itself in two from the point. To prevent itself from taking too much and reduce the damage. But the gambit works.

A sudden surge without out a single reduction, as Kasumi fights against her own troubled breath. She looks to Raidou, as if searching for some sort of answer and sees her cousin giving his all and Simmone seeming to attack earlier then she should be able to. A shake of her head, and fights against the imposed restriction. Her body felt stiff, as if seized. Her feet slowly twist and her arms begin to sweep in wide circles, under strain. A vibrant pink light burns upon them as a form takes hold. Like fires, a ring of color seems to hang as she pull back her right hand toward her hip. Kasumi's left had outstretched to her right, level with her shoulder. An abrupt snap forward sees her close the gap to her foe despite the systems interference. That anchored right hand extends and twists mere inches from her target. It slams into its armor, seeing it spread in a explosion of ripples outward. The color trapped in her knuckles discharges, and with it the creatures torso caves inward and explodes out its back as if it were blood.

Now that Kasumi was back in the action at least for now, Gaius pivots and twirls Brionac. The weapons fire lights, as his energy and intentions start to build it into a vibrant fury. It starts to hum with power, vibrating slightly in his palms. The sweeping typhoon leaps toward the ceiling to maintain some distance from his companions, given this weapon would start to tear apart everything in its proximity as its power would continue to increase. The slime king was now two lesser sections of their former selves and yet still seemed of ripe and functional forms. It was clear that this battle wasn't over and wouldn't be for a while to come. With this thought, Gaius held fast and continued to pour every available ounce of strength into the polearm. With it the room starts to howl with a rising wind. His team would have to hold it back until the charge was sufficient. The next one would aim for them all.

Fighting back the troubled breathing, a slight blessing in the form of some effect from Simmone offers her some respite. Her weapon tears from the ground, as debris from her last attack continues to fall and clatter to the stonework and find itself rolling into the crater she'd left. The cleaver begins to burn a bright red, as bluish flames grace the metal like small bits of kindling. Slime king was now divided into two separate parts, seems that it was do to its attempts to avoid Simmone actually ending it for good. A clever trick, which may provide some benefit yet given most of the party was starting to run out of steam. Herself included. Ripping up that cleaver of hers, she rakes it across in a wide sweep, clipping both with a fairly potent tear that sends green fluid spraying around the area. Once the sword art falls, so does her strength waiver.

Still adamantly holding his ground, the slime king divided and slammed by the rest of his team. Raidou fills the room with hatred, this thickened red mist that assaults the senses of his opposition. This robs its vision and causes the rest of his party to start to vanish as the creatures senses narrow down to the smallest tunnel. Like a matador the bull charges down the nomad in red, with both sections of its former self. The first attack comes roaring across and finds raking steel. A shower of sparks as a gelatinous weapon tore down the dulled edge of the black star, before Raidou shifts his weight and causes the creature to be flung past him and out the back tunnel. This provides only the smallest of windows, to which the wanderer turns and makes the second connection that booms like thunder. His left hand quickly finds the nose guard on a pair of glasses and presses them up his nose. Despite the weight of his sword or the creatures attacks, he was unbelievably stable. The benefit of using sword arts defensively, a tactical halt of momentum. That concussive blow sees Raidou turn, and return the swipe to which the king tries to parry it. But unlike the wanderer it snaps clean through its arm made blade.

It was clear that they were trying to follow her advice yet probably not consciously. It was perhaps due to that vibe she was sensing? Was it inspiration? or desperation? Whatever it was providing them some benefit. But for how long? The woman starts to scan them all, as if expectant and slightly disappointed in the show they were providing. "Still this restricted? This controlled? Like rats in a cage, you scurry around your little maze eagerly seeking out bits of cheese and promises of success. Yet your still coming up empty, and the walls of your maze remain solid and unforgiving. How long will your confinement last I wonder? You wonder why I can so readily leave you behind, and you always feel so far behind? Simple my dear heralds."

The silver light in her eyes fade, and she turns her head with a soft chuckle. Her wrist bent near her mouth, to cover her teeth. "I am not a part of your maze."

A sharp exhale as the system exerts itself on her harshly, like a set of hands on her shoulders holding her in place. Through that imposed restriction, as Nisahime continued to prattle on and on words that couldn't really be deciphered as encouragement or damnation. It would appear that her teammates were even worse off then she was, Kasumi seeming almost totally out of energy. Shaking her head, Simmone flicks her rapier up and that is met with another wave of purple drawing itself down the length of it. Two sharp and quick thrusts, a pivot between as the system obliged her intention. Each cuts a nice size hole about 4 inches in diameter in each target, before a blackened ooze like cancer seeped out from that newly formed puncture. Yet despite the damage, the hp bar moves but not clearly as much as she hoped it would. With that acknowledgement, Simmone's vision blurs.

Stuck to the ceiling much like a fly on the wall, the man could only look on as his team was starting to become sluggish. The echoing waves of power continued to fill the chamber with a building typhoon of wind, as the very air around him was being burned away. The weapon in his grasp becoming brighter and brighter with every passing second. They just had to hold out long enough for him to produce enough juice to put this damn thing down for good. His eyes advance to Nisahime to see her staring back at him almost expectantly. His eyebrows twist down, why him in particular? Gritting his teeth, he lets that thought fall because it was hardly the focus. If he didn't keep his head on straight, this could end very badly. His hand twists and affirms itself on the handle of Brionac. This better fucking work, else we are in some serious trouble.

Quick Split: On a CD 9+ and LD 10+, the <<Slime King>> will not attack and instead, summon a <<Slime Abomination>> to his aid. A <<Slime Abomination>> can only be summoned once per turn. This skill is deactivated once <<Gelatinous Form>> has activated twice.
Gelatinous Form: Every time the boss’ health reaches 0, two more Kings will spawn, using the next lowest HP available. If a Slime King with the lowest amount of max HP possible dies, he will not spawn any more.

Troubled breath as she inhales sharply, her face becoming flush as she was pushing well beyond where she normally had to. This reminded her quite a bit of much earlier in their journey, and it was as if they were back to that point again. Yet how was that possible, most of what they had done up to this point should have made them more then capable of dealing with what the game had to offer. Scanning the party, most were having similar troubles. A glance toward Nisa, this must be that womans doing surely. She was the only rogue element here, the only new addition. So why was she here? Simmone's attack punches through, and as soon as Kasumi's skills return to color she jerks forward as her right fist burns brightly. A haymaker converts to pointed fingers, and cleaving through her target its HP plummets. As soon as the sword art falls, Kasumi's legs give out unable to support her any longer.
