[PP - 01] <<Earning a Living with Siren/Duet in the making!>>

The love they shared felt like a rare, precious thing. Pure and instant, as if they'd known each other for lifetimes. He'd promised to be her shield, steadfast and unyielding, while she’d vowed to protect his heart and keep him from harm. Their connection was undeniable, an unspoken understanding woven between them.

Dark clouds rolled in overhead, and to Siren, the rain felt like a good luck charm, its arrival perfectly timed. As the first drops began to fall, she bent down and lifted a rock, her breath catching when she uncovered a hidden material beneath it. "Finally!" she exclaimed, her voice echoing with excitement. "Looks like this rain is bringing me some luck!" She laughed, feeling the rain on her skin.

Her inhibitions releasing, she began to twirl, arms outstretched, moving freely in the rain as if it were her dance partner. Her heart felt light, unburdened, as she closed her eyes and spun in joyful circles, completely in tune with the moment.

Siren glanced at Reese,  "And I get the pleasure of keeping you company through it all." Her voice, low and affectionate. She could feel his warmth through his words even with  the chill of the rain, a reminder that she wasn’t alone in this.

The quest had been long and tiresome, but now, with her third material in hand, it was finally nearing an end. She walked over to him, her cheeks flushed and her smile wide. "Looks like we’ll be wrapping this up soon sugar," she murmured, her voice a blend of relief and excitement.

The rain continued to fall, but Siren didn't mind. They were together, and at that moment, nothing else mattered.

Droplets of rain struck upon their soft skin. His eyes looked up as the rain slowly began to trek its way to the earth. A slight smile crossed his face as he stared at the darkened skies before looking at his beloved. How such a beautiful sight could be in front of him. As she procured the material that seemed to evade her, her mood heightened to a point where she was dancing around in the rain. His hand would reach out as she twirled, and he would help her and dance with the next world wonder in front of him.

She twirled and he pulled her into his arms before dipping her low and he would stare at her with his red eyes and nipped her lips. A heavenly taste of her lips drew across his lips as he whispered upon the air near her ear. "No, mi amor, it is my pleasure to escort a beautiful angel like yourself. A privilege I adore and will keep." Gazin upon her, he was fairly sure he was the luckiest one here before standing her back up slowly. The rain was light and sporadic but enough to get them slightly wet. He would stare at the ground and find nothing.

It didn't matter to him. It was for her to be happy, and he was glad he wouldn't ruin it by finishing up first. His hands slipped over hers and he would guide the woman to a spot where the rain would barely touch them. Arm would press over her head while breathing gently as those intense eyes searched hers. He kissed her lips softly before smiling into them. Another sneaky takeaway for him as the two began to engage and have fun. "Looks like the rain will keep us company as well." Hand slowly raised hers to where he would kiss each knuckle gently.

Siren felt the storm shifting her fortunes, as though the rain had washed away her streak of bad luck. She tilted her head back, letting droplets kiss her skin, her thoughts briefly lost in the rhythmic patter. When Reese reached for her hand, a playful spark ignited in her eyes. With a gentle tug, he pulled her into an impromptu dance, the two of them spinning and swaying amidst the downpour.

As Reese dipped her, a soft gasp escaped her lips, quickly followed by a teasing smirk. She could see the mischief playing on his face as he nipped at her lip. "Oh sugar," her drawl getting thicker, her voice laced with lust and amusement, "you always know just what to say, don't you?" Her smirk deepened. "But you're so sweet, we'd better get you out of this rain before you melt."

Reese led her to a nearby tree, it's sprawling branches providing them with a modest shelter. As he leaned against the trunk, towering over her with one arm resting above her head, Siren felt the blush creeping up her cheeks. She barely had time to recover when his warm breath was against her skin, and her eyes fluttered closed. Almost on cue, Reese tilted forward brushing a tender kiss against her lips. Without hesitation Siren returned the kiss, savoring the quiet intimacy of the moment as they smiled against each others lips.

"I don't mind the rain keeping us company, my love," she murmured, her voice soft and affectionate. Her smile widening as Reese took her hand, pressing delicate kisses to each of her knuckles, one by one.

As Siren lifted her hand toward his cheek, a stray leaf fluttered down from the branches above. She caught it instinctively, and the familiar material gained prompt popped up. She stared at the screen for a moment, before a laugh escaped her lips, "Would you look at that! I think the rain really did wash away my bad luck."

She reached her hand out from beneath the tree’s cover, watching as the rain splashed against her palm. A wistful smile crept across her face as the sensation tugged at a distant memory. "You know," she began, her voice carrying a hint of nostalgia, "this reminds me of when Ciela and I were kids. We’d run through storms like this, stomping in puddles, getting soaked head to toe. It was the most fun we ever had." She turned to Reese, her smile softening. "Maybe the rain’s not so bad after all."

Sounds of rain showed no signs of stopping but still pattered gently and slowly. One could see within the distance where the rain stopped and where it began from the hills to the valley towards the town of beginnings.

There stood the duo caught in the rain protected by a tree. The branches and leaves shielded them from being completely soaked from the rain that began to come down faster. Sun had vanished behind the darkened clouds. Under the natural umbrella, the light had ceased to be seen which allowed them to be obscured from prying eyes of other players just showing their silhouettes. "I assure you. I will only melt under your touch and warmth." A hint and a tease from the man that gave a wicked smile followed by a wink.

Eyes followed the leaf as she latched onto the material before he could. Alas, nothing was spotted for him as he looked back at her. At this point, he was more distracted by their antics making him nonchalant about the materials. Red hues glimmered looking at her pale skin and voluptuous body before looking back at her face once more. Her honeyed words graced his ears as he listened to her tale of days long gone about her friend and herself.

Smile crossed his face as he reminisced the thoughts of his own childhood of being a troublemaker. Thoughts not shared but would be mentioned later down the road. The sound of rain began to increase in volume, but his attention still captivated by her. Hand slipped out to the rain and heled it there for a moment to let it dampen before pulling it back. "Water is known for purity. So, I believe, you've become even purer." He brushed a stray hair away from her eyes.

Upon hearing Reese's playful words about melting under her warmth and touch, Siren felt the heat rising to her cheeks. She tilted her head, the faint blush on her face deepening as she let out a soft chuckle. "Oh, is that right, sugar?" She teased, her voice a velvety purr. "You'll melt under my touch?" Slowly, she raised her hand to his cheek, her fingertips grazing his skin as her thumb traced gentle circles. Her gaze met his, a spark of challenge glimmering in her eyes. "Then melt for me, darling," she added with a sly smirk, mirroring his own wicked expression, daring him to act on his words.

"Purer, huh?" She echoed his comment, her voice softening as the teasing edge gave way to something gentler, more loving. A sweet and soft smile gracing her lips as Reese brushed a stray hair away from her face. "I suppose that's fitting, since we're each others good luck charms today," she teased lightly, stepping back just enough to gather her hair. With practiced ease, she pulled her long pink hair out of her ponytail, twisting them deftly before securing them back up with a claw clip. "I'm not risking damage to my hair, virtual or not! A girl's got her priorities, you know."

Once again she turned her attention away from Reese and back to the task at hand, Siren crouched and began searching for materials again, her fingers brushing through damp grass and overturned soil. But after several minutes, she couldn't find anything. A flicker of doubt crept into her mind as she straightened up, brushing her hands off on her thighs. "Nothing again," she muttered under her breath, her confidence wavering. Was the streak of good luck just a fluke? Was the rain not the cleansing charm she'd thought it was? Her thoughts began to spiral, questions racing through her mind as she glanced at Reese. She shook her head, chasing the doubts away before they could take root. "Guess it's just not my luck this time around," she said with a small laugh, masking her uncertainty with a bright smile.

Slender digits touched her hair as she got back up from looking at the ground for more materials. The moment and scene seemed to come straight out of a book to him as the lustrous woman before him seemed to pout at the circumstances at the material not coming forth. His red eyes scanned the field of vision to where he could see and sense materials. With no alert coming, he was doomed to not find another material this go around either. Not that he cared.

"I think you would look great with wet hair, dry hair, clothed, half clothed, or..." His voice lowered to a drawl exposing his thick accent letting her think of the other possibility to complete his sentence. A slight crease upward exposed his fanged toothy smile for her. A charm that he learned during his days as an escort to show that he could and would bite down on something... or someone.

Trained in the arts of having to see, hear, touch, and taste, he was able to sense the foreboding shadow that could hinder thoughts. He chose to change the priority a little bit. "Let us make our first encounter, our first date, eh? Like how you say, the grass is greener on the other side? We can always make our misfortune into fortune in anyway. As mi madre would say, Haz del mundo tu ostra y ve a través de él con amor!" He shouted at the rain and the day before him some traveling passersby. He grinned sheepishly before looking at her again.  "Make the world your oyster and see it through with love." A wink and a smile followed.

Siren's cheeks flushed a soft pink at Reese's teasing words, his insinuations playing on repeat in her mind. He wanted to see me… Her thoughts lingered, and a slow, mischievous smirk curved across her lips, giving her an air of playful confidence. Her scarlet eyes gleamed with intrigue as she turned her focus entirely to him, her surroundings, the rhythmic patter of rain, the cool breeze, and even the occasional rumble of distant thunder, dimming into insignificance.

Her gaze softened, lingering on his face, and she caught herself biting her lower lip, though the smirk never wavered. Whether it was the rain glistening off his hair or the look he gave her, she wasn't sure, but the moment felt electric, charged with something unspoken. When Reese brought up their first date with that easy charm of his, Siren couldn't help but giggle, the sound light and melodious despite the stormy backdrop. "Grass is greener on the other side, huh?" she teased back, tilting her head as if to playfully challenge him. Before she could say more, her gaze flickered downward, something catching her eye.

The moment the tiny glint peeked through the wet grass, Siren gasped softly. She bent down and plucked it up, holding the small, glimmering material between her fingers as if it were a treasure. Her expression lit up like a spark catching fire. "Well, would you look at that, talk about lucky!" she said, her voice practically dripping with satisfaction. She straightened up, the material pinched triumphantly in her grip, her smile wide and radiant.

As realization hit her, she let out an excited squeal, spinning slightly in place, her pink ponytail whipping around her. "That's it! That's the last material I needed! Oh my god!" Her words came out in a delighted rush, her joy bubbling over as she turned to face Reese, her eyes glowing with triumph. "Can you believe that?" Her celebration was infectious, but a glance toward Reese's expression tempered her glee. While she'd found her prize, Reese still hadn't located the final material he needed. Siren's smile softened, and she tilted her head, studying him with a mix of encouragement and playfulness. "Don't you worry, sugar," she cooed, stepping closer and resting a reassuring hand on his arm. "Your luck's bound to change soon."

"See my love? You can always change things at a blink of an eye. Though, I may have used up all my luck meeting you and I would be okay with that." The rain cascaded off their skin and their eyes interlocked once more as she mentioned those words to him. Luck was what you made it and he would see this through to the end. His red orbs would scan the ground anticipating and hoping for something to fall before him. He felt something strike the top of his head.

He reached up slowly and grabbed upon the item that struck him and gazed upon it for a moment. Eyes narrowed slightly at the material before a window appeared stating it was his last material he had needed for this long quest. A blink of his eye and he smiled with his toothy smile and showed her the item. "Looks like you were right about it, mi amor. Luck managed to hit me in the head."

The low rumbling of the clouds would break the sound of silence just now. Fingers slipped into hers as he wasn't willing to stay in a downpour if it came to that. He whisked her down the path that headed to town with the cobblestone striking under their feet. He turned back at her as the roads were clearing up for them and flashed another smile to her. "We should hurry before we catch a cold."

His pace slowed slightly and soon he halted movements. Without much after that, he turned and kissed her lips full of passion. The sign of a man who was deeply smitten by the diosa in front of him. The kiss there had no rhyme or reason. It was just a moment he wanted to feed into his memory and hope to create many more with her.

After Reese finally found his last material, Siren couldn't contain her excitement. With a delighted laugh, she grabbed his hand and tugged him along. "Come on, sugar, let's get back before Landon thinks we ran off!" Together, they dashed through the rain, feet splashing in puddles as the storm showed no sign of letting up. By the time they reached Landon's shop, both of them were thoroughly soaked, their clothes clinging to their skin and their hair dripping water onto the wooden floor.

Landon greeted them with a raised brow and his usual gruff demeanor. "Well, look who decided to show up. That took longer than I expected. Hope y'all didn't get yourselves into any trouble out there." Siren shook her head quickly, her pink ponytail sending droplets flying. "No, sir! No trouble at all," she chirped with a bright smile. "We just had a hard time tracking down those materials you needed. But now we've got them, and we're ready for the next step!" Landon grunted in approval, motioning them toward the back of the shop. "Good. Let's get this over with."

They followed him to a small recording setup that looked modest but functional. A series of instruments were arranged neatly around the space, each equipped with a slotted crystal that glowed faintly. Siren's eyes lit up with curiosity as she surveyed the scene. "Well, this is different," she mused, stepping forward to examine the instruments. She picked up the lead guitar first, strumming a few chords. Nothing. Frowning, she set it down and moved to the bass guitar. Again, nothing happened. "Hmph," she muttered, her brow furrowing slightly. She tried the tambourine next, then the drums, but no magic or resonance seemed to occur.

It was starting to feel like a lost cause until her gaze landed on the microphone. Something about it called to her. With a determined shrug, she stepped up to it, gripping the mic stand with one hand. The moment she leaned in, something shifted. A spark of familiarity ignited deep within her, a long-buried connection to the music of her childhood. Without even thinking, Siren began to sing. The words flowed effortlessly, her voice weaving through the melody as if it had been waiting all this time to break free. Her eyes closed, and the sound seemed to fill the room, raw and emotional yet polished with natural talent.

When she finished, her cheeks were flushed, and she opened her eyes to find Landon standing in front of her, his expression uncharacteristically warm. He placed a heavy hand on her shoulder and nodded approvingly. "Performing isn't for the faint of heart, kid," he said, his gruff voice softer than usual. "Takes guts, hard work, and talent. But from where I'm standing, you've got all three. Keep that up, and you'll knock 'em dead someday."

Siren's lips parted in surprise before curving into a genuine smile. "Thank you, sugar. That… that means a lot," she replied, her voice carrying a rare note of vulnerability. She stepped aside to give Reese his turn, giving Reese a playful nudge. "I'll be waiting outside when you're ready, sugar," she said, her voice teasing but light. With that, she slipped out into the rain, spinning in place to let the cool droplets wash over her while she waited, her heart lighter than it had been in days.

They entered the shop after gathering the items. Landon’s shop was lit up from the rain. It was time for them to get this slog of a quest done. Reese scoured the shop one by one looking at the items before him and located what seemed to be a guitar.

His beloved’s voice echoed throughout the shop keep and he couldn’t help but smile at the perfection that was being released. He probably wouldn’t be able to compare but at least he would try to stand beside her. His eyes flickered back and forth between a wooden guitar and a more modernized one. Fingers grazed upon the guitar, and he slowly looked at the item before taking the wooden one.

When she finished up, he turned to listen to the praise of Landon and clapped for her. The words wouldn’t compare but Landon had already done the praise for him. While she exited the shop, it was his turn. He slowly placed a guitar pick on each finger and slowly traced the thin string before tuning it. He sat down in the chair and started to play something but each time, it failed him.

He sighed slightly before starting to close his eyes and strummed each string. His palm struck the base of the guitar to create a hollow beat that followed in time with each guitar. The strumming was rhythmic and soon he was able to create something. Landon listened to his creation with a tapped foot while bobbing his head ever so slightly.

When he finished, he managed to create nothing as perfect as Siren, but simple enough to be a masterpiece at that level. He smiled slightly as Landon clapped. “Not bad, boy… Not bad at all.”

A faint sigh escaped his lips as he was tired from walking, but it was over. He finally named the crystal and gave a wave to Landon, before exiting the door and slipping his hand around Siren. “Let's get out of here…”
