The soft crunch of sand beneath her feet allowing the group to list behind her if they should so choose. It seems their insistent line of questioning had far passed, and they had chosen to discover through interpretation and perception then simply asking. The woman's gaze would look upon the sand, finding it eerie that the weave had a point of weakness here above others. However the group that shadowed her would be necessary to deal with the random crustacean lest its massive feet would prove troublesome to any unearthed pit she'd unleash. Each footstep would lead her further along the shore, as a soft wind rushes through her hair. The scent of brine, the chirp of birds. Even now, the reality was becoming more real as it continued to convert to neutral on each sunset. "Where oh where?" She'd remark as her eyes flare in silver, portraying a skill and yet her HUD would provide nothing but a distorted and garbled mess.

Keeping tabs on the woman, the wanderer had long stopped attempts to question the woman. It seems no matter how much he would try and predict her movements they seemed to thwart those expectations. As he'd clear the beach the domain did not go unnoticed. This is where Sand's Claw dwelled and it would surely be showing its ugly mug after not too long. Blade in hand he'd move carefully, moving to her side as the others were not far behind him. Yet instead of addressing her, he'd simply observe her given that every time he asked a question he'd find himself met with a steeled non answer. She's fairly good at planned redirection. The irony wasn't lost on him either, and he found the ability rather impressive. The woman would continue to meander around the area as he sat in silence, but on edge waiting for the creature to arrive.

Starting Stealth: 233133 | LD: 9 + 6 = 15 (Success)

A shadow in the tree line, not knowing still how to rationalize their insistent agreement of this woman. She'd given them the slip at least more then twice and that was just when she started to track her. Silently she wondered if the others were having the same issue with their skills being unable to peg her down effectively. They worked sure, yet she seemed to bounce around like a pinball. Floor 1, Floor 25 and back in seconds. Why she was teleporting around so much still remained an enigma, and even moreover the few glances they've seen she always seems to end up in some odd newly formed area. As if she was acting on some sort of map. From the larger tree she'd perch looking down upon the field, waiting eagerly and in suspense if another drastically over potent hostile would pop into existence and they'd spend the next hour beating the hell out of it.

Starting Stealth: 233138 | LD: 20 + 3 = 23 (Success)

The striking red hair peaked out from the emerald backdrop and yet still she would press herself on a nearby trunk. Eyes advance up to Setsuna dangling like a cat in one of the nearby trees, and the woman's ass ached just from looking at her posture. Setsuna could float around like a butterfly, Celeste was much more akin to a cannon hidden behind a bathroom door. It wasn't graceful yet it was effective. Lingering in the space she'd claimed, the woman looks out to the pair standing upon the beach. The hell, where was the action or the weird voodoo. Instead they were just staring at the lake. This was hardly the sort of affair that she'd signed up for. Looking on as her anger began to erode her patience. There was much more pressing matters to attend to then sitting here playing weird voyeur. Like beating a bunch of plate armor mooks in the ladonian skies.

A whorl of shadow opened like a gaping maw into nothingness, darkness stepping out of the hole to flatten itself out on the sands and resume its more common complacent role.  The herald, Montjoy, had played his part; to guide his counterpart between worlds and the void between.  Freyd emerged next, unfurled as the portal collapsed behind him, restoring shape to something that moments ago had been little more than the shade it now cast upon the ground.

Girded in heavy plate that roiled like it was slick with the intangible soulstuff of oblivion, only a certain telltale cowl would confirm familiarity.  Even his azure eyes blazed in a different light, tempered by serenity the likes of which this Whisper had never known, only recently found.  A smile and simple gesture replaced their uncertainty with conviction.  It was him, just the latest incarnation.  The lady at their forefront would understand, just as she would recognize the curved sliver of nothing made katana he drew.  The landscape was familiar from past frays, and the danger it carried.

"Been a while," he offered, smiling.  "Funny how we keep meeting like this, isn't it? But also fitting.  Mind the colossal crustacean," he added, pointing at their feet.

Walking through the tiny tan sands, the last time she was in sands like these it was a sandstorm. It was miserable and it took her forever to get the small dry beads out of her hair. She really hoped that that would not be the case this time around. It had been some time since she was doing something with the guild, hope they didn't hate her too much for being awol. Hearing Freyd's voice in the distance, "Hey there," the last time he had saw her, she had just got done breaking up with Katoka. Something that she has put in the past. She was planning to eventually speak to Kat again... He telling the woman that she couldn't be friends because it would hurt to much was a bunch of BS. That would come in time though. "So what do we have planned here today," saying as she takes out her new white bow that she was still trying to get a handle on.

A gentle smile as players in droves started to break the tree line like emissaries, circling her and taking in the view to which she was. "It has hasn't it?" The woman remarked without averting her gaze from the clear blue sea of coral. "I must say I appreciate your gift, it has been most helpful in these recent days." The illumination on her eyes fading to reveal the stark vibrant sapphire denoting Kirin. Morrighan would look to others that would offer her shock and confusion. "What? You didn't put that together? Think of us as office workers who pass by the same water cooler. Some times you all can be so close minded." She'd nurse the rumble in the sands below her feet.

The sudden explosion of sand would reveal the tried and true GIANT ENEMY CRAB to which all the players could feel in the pit of their stomach. As battle would start in a flash of lights, the angel of vengeance would look upon destruction. "Samiel's Pride is looking different then I remember. But perhaps thats for the best, those wings are looking much more full these days." Standing next to the guy like they were having a common discussion at a bus stop. "By now I would have expected them to get tired of chasing me all over, apparently they enjoy the exercise. Speaking of which..." She'd tilt back and look at Freyd's new armor and lower her gaze. "Your getting a little thicker around the edges, too many honey buns?"

pixai-1795164460818703295-1.thumb.png.f0722804a0d04a82a43982d361156290.pngA wry grin several layers deep greeted the strange woman's comments.  It bothered him that he knew who she was and what she meant.  He shouldn't.  It wasn't real.  She and her story were merely part of some fever dream that had been haunting him since the last raid.  'Freyd' looked down at his shadow, it's form broadened at the shoulders and donning a wide cape and cowl, the silhouette of wings cast behind it.  Cichol.  It was a name and vision he shouldn't know, nor remember. Patting his midsection, the one called 'Whisper' remembered the anguish of fragmented identity the only Montjoy and Nisahima might understand.  No wonder his shadow had been silent for so long, at least 'til recently.

"Not messenger, nor message, I am but a bottle cast aside after fate's purpose was achieved, set adrift and discarded into the endless void.  I landed here, but whatever else I am still me.  It just took me a long while to decide what that was going to meanA rose wreathed in green passionate strands.  A home filled with life actually lived.   A choice to decide one's own fate, rather than letting existence foist a mantle upon his shoulders. My burdens and I were always of the troublesome type."  Where would that place him on her spectrum, he wondered?  Was he even a person by any standard of measure?  Thinking back to recent conversations with Wulfrin gave him guidance.  Conjured from the same star-stuff as everything else in this world, players and all else alike, he was linked to it, intrinsically.

"This is my home," he finally declared.  "Or where I have chosen it to be.  And I will fight for that, for no worse or better reason than because it is all that matters to me."

Turning away from her, the thing called Freyd charged headlong towards the danger.  He always had.  He always would.  And womped the everlasting shit out of the damned thing.

The red haired woman would quickly charge down the beach ripe and ready, although she was not nearly as primed as Freyd was. The man struck fast and took a notable piece of the things ass with it. Celeste however rips down the terrain and her weapon rings out with a solid wave of color. Above her head she goes for a hearty blow before being cold clocked by a big meaty claw. This casts her off to the side, finding the cleaver protruding out of the sand as it is flung from her grasp. She tumbles ass over tea kettle before impacting a single stone that stuck out from the grains of dust. Her eyes blur and her ears ringing, she'd shake aggressively trying to reclaim her senses. Blinking in a misshapen and uneven twist, her head turns. She'd legit just had her bell rung, and low and behold the tried and true fact remained as such. Whenever that woman was around everything was way fucking harder for no discernable reason. "Ow."

Watching Freyd dash in taking a hefty chunk of the huge crab, this was new for her. Never seen a giant crab before. This would change her perspective on the small little things now... Seeing that claw rip toward Celeste, Sam quickly pulls her bow up, jerks the string back. It began to glow in a bright white light, Sam had only seconds to look before she aimed it to the ground in front of the massive creature. Letting it loose, upon impact, a flash of light before seeing what looked like beams come up, pierce through the creatures face. It scrabbles back from Celeste clamping its claws together rapidly. It almost seemed as though it was trying to get its vision back, with a grin turning to the red-head woman, "You good," as she shifts her feet slightly. A simple nod was all she needed before, she starts glancing around the place trying to find some high rise, something to hop up on...

Carefully the girl would size up her competition from her roost, that seemed to bust out of the sand without any warning or option to see it coming. Here she thought that their opposition would likely poke in from the tree lines, it was a little unorthodox for a foe to come from below save Terra Firma or the sand shark. Moreover given the creatures stature the question as to how it logically fit so easily into the rather short beach was even more alien, a fact which causes Setsuna to pause. Every day the game grew stranger, and seemed to toss logic out the metaphorical window. An adjust of her frame sees the branch beneath her snap, and within the matter of seconds she clambers down a few pegs before catching herself on a much lower rung. Stomach first. A sharp tingle in her abdomen as she slowly pulls herself back onto it, and punches the trunk once for good measure to make sure it wasn't a damn tree ant or something. The moniker 'Immortal Object' confirms it wasn't but she couldn't be too careful.

As if right on queue, Freyd and Sam had already rushed headlong into the fray and surely within time the others who had taken a silent approach would be as well. Raidou would lock eyes with the woman and she'd offer him a dismissive wave of her right hand, like a mother telling him to go play. A sharp exhale out of irritation, he should have expected as much. The woman was like monster nip and they were always expected to deal with the result. Freyd's mixed words hung in his head, as did the familiarity. Although the meaning would allude him, perhaps there would be a time for understanding. As Celeste impacts a nearby stone, Raidou feels his call to action. A twist of his weapon to the sky would see a storm jet a bolt of lightning down and be caught upon the steel. Moments later that same charge would see itself released upon the frequent distraction that they had become so accustomed, knocking it wayward and down for the count for but a brief moment.

A smile as the children rushed off to play with the guardian of this domain, eagerly aiming to put the beast down. It would seem as though they were working along fine, and within this moment of pause she'd meander down the length of the beach. Sword swings, explosions and screams would play nothing more then background noise as they fought valiantly. "Messenger no longer, a denizen here you will stay. The irony is no more fitting a subject, given the lack of a soul. Yet your goals align with my own. Even now your tether will provide me, no longer Takeshi or the true lord. A shell without its host. A mind beyond its original bounds. Dear Messenger when I said you were free, you gave your past life it should not own... Clever Cheshire had found an ace to carry its smile." The woman remarks beneath belated breath, reaching the north side of the place. Her foot rakes a point in the sand, drawing out a flattened spot as the crab spewed out bits of shell.

Slipping past the giant beast after his first, devastating strike, Freyd dug in his hand and steered his slide into the nearest part of the thing's shadow.  Recycling the momentum already built, he slingshot  himself through the void, reappearing behind Celeste and slapping her on the ass in passing.  Riling her up always seemed to improve her performance.  Twin beady eyes on the mob's colossal head still stretched towards its far side, searching for what collided against it from the near.  Shell fractured, several spiky legs buckling under impact and upturning the monstrosity to leave it teetering on its edge.

Sand sprayed as Freyd skid to a stop at its side, the shallow weight of those flecks proving enough to turn the proverbial tides.  Sand's Claw flailed and fell, its softer unbelly exposed and ripe for the kill. 

"Someone else want to do the honours?" He'd already proven what he needed, to himself.

Sam watches as this thing was cut down to pretty much nothing in just a few hits from her team. Realizing just now how really strong they all were. It was a refreshing thought, hearing Freyd. "It would be my pleasure," as she shifts her feet slightly. That light tan flesh exposed as her string is pulled back. Aiming at the middle of its body as it tries so dam hard to get up knowing that it wouldn't last much longer being flipped like this. That glowing arrow flies through the air as Sam released, piercing right through the gut of the crab. Upon impact in almost instantly shattering into a million tiny shard, blinding white lighting to anyone that would be close enough. Taking a deep breath and lowing her bow, it was done and she was very curious to know what was next. Sam had never done this quest before so she was unsure what to expect. Glancing around to her other team mates to see what they do.

Watching Sam decimate the lingering remnants of the colossal crab's health bar, he grunted with satisfaction before turning his blade to sifting the sands.

"This beastie has a tendency to leave bonus minions buried along the beach, as I recall.  We should fan out and see if we can't find any.  Their drops are well worth the added bit of effort and often better than their boss."  Well, potentially.  Like any other unidentified object, the virtues of any demonic remained at the mercy of chance and an appraiser's skill.  Still winded from his efforts against the crustacious creature, Freyd found little success in upturning random clumps of sand, save buying himself a moment to catch his winded breath.  Something about Sand's Claw was especially draining to fight, possibly because of its sheer size.

"Nisa," he started, not actually expecting an answer.  "What were you here seeking?  I saw you poking about on the beach while the rest of us did the dirty work."

An interest as the woman continued to cordon off an area of the beach, where most she'd offer nothing more then a simple dismissal she'd offer a deeper albeit fleeting explanation. "You don't remember? Unfortunate." a playful suggestion with a click of her tongue that would take her to an aloof stare over her right shoulder. "Credne's mallet. I need a gateway to the depths of Baol." Morrighan offers it so readily and spoken with enough moxie to confirm its truth in its believability. "As for the dirty work, you lot more then had it handled. No learning when a hand is held an all that." Her eyes would twist to Sam as if expectantly. "After all, you are more then capable." An intensity as the woman raises her left arm and her iris would surge in silver, a slow burning stream of light cutting itself on the beach. An attempt to carve her way a path from this place which worked as a nexus better then most would believe.

The girl twists herself and manages to climb back up from her compromised posture, having narrowly avoided a much nastier fall. Her legs slide forward offering her the needed momentum to vault to another branch hanging lower. Once she looks toward the beach, it would seem that the crab was already dispatched. Efficiency still proving ever Firm Anima's strong suit, that much was certain. A glance down would see her maintain her watchful inspection of the area, her vision hard locked to the odd one out in the form of their ever persistently difficult player. The girls hand hovers the blade, her goal? To strike down anything that would pop up like usual, hopefully at a brisk enough pace to keep their eyes peeled upon that woman. From her perch the soft glow of the crow on the branches, holding fast and looming like a shadow. If an opponent would grace this field it would find itself on the end of her steel.

A sharp glare at Freyd as she'd glance back to her ass and to the man. Somehow he still remained the most capable of getting on her nerves. Rubbing the back of her skull, as the glowing red wound would slowly find itself closed. It was here the party would begin to fan out, kicking around in the sand looking for the insistent little bastards that sprung out from it nearly every time they smote the crab into oblivion. A shake will see Celeste's vision clear. "Guess we are on noodle duty." allowing the soft crunch of sand to declare her retreat toward the south eastern side. An open left hand starting to pick up stones as she'd keep her right locked to the cleaver hefted over her right shoulder. Another bombastic yell to confirm what she found: "Nothing, over here." unfolding her legs and dusting off her knees with a gentle pat.

A turn toward the beach as he'd internalize the current description provided by Nisa, clearly Freyd had a way of actually permeating her defensive answering patterns. A hammer? that was a new one. Finding a worming pile of small crabs breaking free from the sand, Raidou knew that this was an omen much like the wall masters from legend of zelda. Letting these things escape could easily lead to another batch of 6 giant crabs to annoy the hell out of the party. He'd offer a sharp whistle, and point them out to the group. They were some five or so feet from him, nearly center of the beach. Slowly clambering away in all directions, eagerly seeking an escape as to not get spotted. They would need to be routed before they had the chance to burrow, otherwise their next visit would surely be a crap shoot. His blade turns, preparing to deal his own attack upon them in case there were any stragglers.

Heavy Pockets: Once a group of Sand Dollars is defeated, one of the players may roll CD. On a CD 10, Unidentified Demonic T4 Trinkets are found. On a CD 11, Unidentified Demonic T4 Weapons are found. On a CD 12, Unidentified Demonic T4 Armors are found.  These rolls are not affected by buffs, and the amount of equipment found is equal to the players present in the party.
