Kiyabu Hisao 0 Posted October 25 #1 Share Posted October 25 (edited) After an arduous journey from the Town of Beginnings, Our young man could see the village of Tolbana. “That definitely took longer than I expected it too.. But count my lucky stars, That I didn't encounter any problems along the way..” He mumbled to himself, Before taking this opportunity to browse his new surroundings. “Now let's see what this village has to offer.” While following the cobblestone path, Kiyabu heard someone shouting. Like they were trying to get someone's attention. As he took a look left, Then right, Before pointing towards himself. “Me?” He inquired with a puzzled look. ‘He couldn't possibly be addressing me right?’ Because he only just arrived a few minutes ago. ‘Wait-!’ At that moment, The young man noticed. The elderly man had a quest icon above his head. ‘This guy is a quest-giver.’ He thought, While looking at the individual in question. Who was catching their breath. "You there! Stop, please!" A man approaches you with long, purposeful strides. "Pardon me, but I am in need of some assistance, and you appear quite capable." Giving the NPC your attention, he heaves a quick sigh, adjusting the monocle over his right eye. "My name is Dorian, and I am the mayor of this town. As part of those mayoral duties, I issued a small loan to a member of the community a few months ago. Well, the time to collect had come around and I-" Flustered, Dorian systematically runs his fingers over his perfect moustache. "You see, I've forgotten who it was I loaned the money to. Terribly embarrassing, I know, but I am a very busy man, and I cannot keep track of everything that happens. I'm sure you understand." With a wave of his hand, Dorian continues, "Should you be willing to track down the loan recipient for me, and collect the col, I would be eternally grateful. Just, maybe don't let anyone else know I forgot who the loan went to?" Kiyabu Hisao 0 Posted October 25 Author #2 Share Posted October 25 When it was confirmed, That the elderly man in front was indeed addressing him. Kiyabu replied in kind. “My name is Kiyabu Hisao.” With introductions out of the way, He would listen attentively to Dorian. Who explained his dilemma, Though this blunder could have some repercussions in the future. If word got out, Kiyabu could somewhat understand a busy schedule. “Indeed, That does sound quite embarrassing.. But If I may make a suggestion for the future, It shouldn't hinder your busy schedule.. And it'll help you keep track of loans more efficiently.. What I'm suggesting is a ledger.. Which can register a recipient's name, Along with the amount they wish to borrow.” After offering an alternative solution for this issue in the future. Kiyabu would accept the quest. “Don't worry, I'll try not to reveal.. That you forgot, Who the loan was given to.” He jokingly said in a confident manner. Upon acceptance of the quest, Dorian nods. "Excellent, I knew I could count on you! You might start with Zackariah, the alchemist. He's often doing projects for the town, so it may have been him that borrowed the money." Kiyabu Hisao 0 Posted October 25 Author #3 Share Posted October 25 With the acceptance of Dorian's quest, To track down the loan recipient. Kiyabu took his advice to visit Zackariah the Alchemist. Who wasn't too far from his current position. So he made his way to the Alchemy Workshop, As he placed his hand on the door. ‘I wonder, What this Alchemist is like.’ He pondered, While pushing the wooden frame inward. “Wo~..” That’s when he laid eyes on the various vials and jars, Which contained many types of potions. “Huh..?” Almost lost in a captivating trance of colours and curiosity, Kiyabu heard a distracted voice greet him from behind the counter. “Oh.. Um.. Hello, Sorry.. I was just mesmerised by these potions of yours.” After admitting that he was captivated by the abundance of potions, He approached the counter. “Actually, I'm here for a completely different reason.. But in the future, I might come back to place an order.” Kiyabu expressed, That he wasn't there to place an order. As you enter Zackariah’s shop, you are met with shelves and shelves of colourful potions in various vials and jars. “Oh, hello," comes the distracted greeting from behind the counter. A man with a long, snow-white beard glances up from a bubbling cup of sweet-smelling purple liquid. "Are you here to order something? I’m sorry, but I am currently swamped with orders, and I’m running out of supplies.” Light comes into the man's dark eyes, a lightbulb going off to signify a brilliant idea. “Would you gather a few materials for me? Flowers, herbs, rare woods, whatever you can find outside the city walls. I promise I’ll help you fill your order as soon as you return. In fact, I would be willing to show you how to do it yourself.”
Kiyabu Hisao 0 Posted October 25 Author #4 Share Posted October 25 Though his original intention was to ask the Alchemist, If he received a loan recently from the Town Mayor. Kiyabu felt this opportunity would be worth the subtle detour, Because its possible to either learn a new skill or gain an item. “In that case, I'll help you gather some materials from outside the city wall..” After accepting the task to gather some materials for him, He reached out his hand. “You can call me, Kiyabu by the way..” With a firm handshake and introduction, Kiyabu would slowly pull his hand back. “I'll come back, Once I've secured the materials needed for your supply.” As those words left his lips, He made his way out of the workshop. “I should probably start my search on the North side and work my way round..” While establishing a plan of action for this task, Kiyabu began following the cobblestone path towards the village gate. KnightessCiela 0 Posted October 26 #5 Share Posted October 26 (edited) As Ciela strolled thought the gate of the Town of Beginnings, she cast a stern look at Perlita, her little sea otter companion. “You can’t eat too many of those treats, Perlita! Your tummy will hurt if you keep sneaking extras.” She cradled the otter in her arms, gently rubbing its head as she walked. Distracted, she didn’t notice someone coming her way until-BOOM-she walked right into them. Perlita squeaked in surprise, her tiny paws flailing as she was momentarily squished between Ciela and the stranger. “Oh my goodness! I’m so sorry!” Ciela gasped, instantly pulling back and bowing her head in apology. She glanced up to meet the eyes of the man she’d nearly barreled over, her cheeks flushing. “I wasn’t watching where I was going. Here, let me make it up to you!” Without missing a beat, she swiped through her menu, quickly materializing a tin container in her hand. It was a light pink color, adorned with an embossed heart covered in flames and the initials “FD” in the center. She held it out with a warm smile. “I made these fresh this morning,” she said, lifting the lid to reveal an assortment of treats. Inside was a flaky croissant, a delicate cupcake, a small package of six double chocolate chip cookies, a pouch of handmade pretzels, and a beautifully crafted sandwich. She laughed softly. “Hopefully that’s enough to make up for my clumsiness. Oh, and I’m Ciela, by the way,” she added with a friendly grin. * * * Spoiler Combat Stat Block: Spoiler KnightessCiela | HP: 525/525 | EN: 66/66 | DMG: 11 | MIT:121 | ACC:2 | TAUNT | THORNS:54 | REGEN: 23 | REC: 3 Spoiler "Name: KnightessCiela True Tier: 3 Level: 24 Paragon Level: 0 HP: 525/525 EN: 66/66 Stats: Damage: 11 Mitigation: 121 Accuracy: 2 Stealth Rating: -5 TAUNT REGEN: 23 REC: 3 Equipment: Spoiler Equipped Gear: Weapon/Armor/Trinket: - Defender's Longsword | T3 Perfect Straight Sword | ACC II | DMG I Armor/Trinket: - Frightening Rosethorn | T3 Perfect Heavy Armor | Taunt | Thorns II Shield/Armor/Trinket: - Rejuvenating Kite Shield | T3 Perfect Shield | Recovery | Regen II Skills: Spoiler Combat Mastery: - Combat Mastery: Mitigation R3 Combat Shift: - Familiar Skill: - Protector Familiar Custom Skill: - Skills: - Heavy Armor R5 - Howl - Straight Sword R5 Extra Skills: - Block R3 - active - Forgotten King's Authority - Survival - Frozen Hide Inactive Extra Skills: Addons: - Focused Howl - Iron Skin Mods: Inactive Mods: Battle Ready Inventory: Spoiler Battle Ready Inventory: - Nepent's Ovule x1 - T1 Rare Health Potion: Heals 10% MAX HP x5 - T1 Uncommon Health Potions: Heals 5% of MAX HP x1 - T1 Uncommon Overhealth Potion: Adds 5% of MAX HP to users x1 - Teleport Crystal x3 Other Info/Buffs: Spoiler Housing Buffs: Guild Hall Buffs: Scents of the Wild Totem: Wedding Ring: Crafting Profession: - Cooking[401exp] R6 Gathering Profession: - Forager[66exp] R2" Edited October 26 by KnightessCiela
Kiyabu Hisao 0 Posted October 26 Author #6 Share Posted October 26 Unbeknownst to either party, That they were about to collide with each other. Kiyabu took the initial step round a corner, Only to bump into a fellow player. “Oof~!” Thankfully no one was seriously hurt at this moment. But that’s when he heard something squeaking, Before tilting his gaze down to see a familiar flailing its tiny paws about. “Oh!” After coming to the realisation, That it was being squished. They both instinctively took a step back, To allow the poor otter some breathing room. Eventually, Kiyabu witnessed the young lady bowing her head in apology for this incident. “No.. no.. It's alright, We both weren't really-” But before could finish his sentence, He saw how effortlessly she navigated the menu. ‘It seems I've bumped into a more seasoned player..’ Kiyabu thought, While watching a tin container materialise in her hands. “Hm?” As his gaze admired the craftsmanship of her tin container, He acknowledged the “FD” initials. Which were located in the centre. Though his attention was quickly snatched by the sweet aroma of her treats. “-Sniffs-” While looking at the assortment of treats, He felt a bit guilty. That she was offering these delicacies, As a form of atonement for the little mishap between them. But he couldn't outright reject it either, Since she was trying to be polite. “You don't need to apologise, Since I wasn't paying much attention either.. But I'll not reject your hospitality.” As Kiyabu took a single double chocolate chip cookie from the container. “This will be sufficient enough.” He mentioned, With a gentle smile. “And I'm Kiyabu, It's a pleasure to meet you Ciela..”
KnightessCiela 0 Posted October 26 #7 Share Posted October 26 Her warm, genuine smile lingered as she replied, "It’s really nice to meet you, Kiyabu." She glanced down as her little otter, Perlita, began darting in excited circles around them, her enthusiasm infectious. Ciela chuckled and gestured toward the otter. "And this little troublemaker here is Perlita." She followed Perlita’s antics for a moment before looking back up at Kiyabu. As their eyes met, she blinked, realizing just how much taller he was. I must look like a kid standing next to him, she thought with an amused smile. "I really hope you like the treats. I was actually on my way to drop off a few more tins at the orphanage here in town," she explained, pausing to check his expression. "You were heading out of town, though, weren’t you?" she continued, tilting her head with a gleam in her eye. "If you’d like some company, I could tag along, if that’s alright with you, of course." Perlita, however, had her own agenda. She was already hopping around, attempting to swipe at the treat tin Ciela had given Kiyabu, clearly convinced there were snacks for her inside as well. Ciela raised an eyebrow, suppressing a laugh as she chided, "No, miss ma’am, you’re out of luck! You’ve had enough treats today." Perlita let out a defeated little squeak, drooping her head dramatically. Ciela gave her a stern, though affectionate, glare. Her mind wandered back to the orphanage, but she pushed the thought aside. I can always deliver the treats to the kids later. It’s just a surprise visit, anyway. Looking back up at Kiyabu, she waited, her eyes bright with anticipation, wondering if he’d welcome her company. * * * Picture of Ciela for reference Spoiler
Kiyabu Hisao 0 Posted October 27 Author #8 Share Posted October 27 (edited) With a gentle and genuine smile of his own, Kiyabu eventually had his attention grabbed by the little sea otter. Who was scampering around them both in an excited manner, This garnered not only a chuckle from Ciela. But from him as well. “Haha~..” After a subtle laugh, He finally learned the familiar's name. “I'm sure Perlita isn't always a troublemaker.” Kiyabu found Perlita's antics rather adorable in nature, Because it reminded him of a pet he had growing up. She was playful and very energetic around new people. This fond memory made his face soften with a hint of sadness behind the eyes. Eventually, Kiyabu came back to reality. Well this form of virtual reality anyway. When their eyes met for a brief moment, A thought did cross his mind about her height resembling that of a child. But, He quickly discarded this notion. Because most individuals, Can be self conscious about their bodies. ‘Still even though she's shorter than me, She's cute.’ This thought caused his once melancholy expression to brighten, As his soft gaze lingered for a while. “Hm?” Before hearing that Ciela planned to deliver a few of these tins to an orphanage in town. “Though, I've not taken a bite of the cookie.. I'm sure it'll be delicious.” Kiyabu confidently praised, Before remembering the very reason behind their encounter. He had a quest given to him by Zackariah. “Ah! Right.. right, I was actually heading out to gather some things for Zackariah the Alchemist.” He mentioned, As her following comment caught his ear. “I was planning to go alone at first, Since I've not met many people yet.. But I would very much appreciate the company, Plus If it's alright with you.. We can deliver these tins to that orphanage later~..” Kiyabu suggested in earnest. That's when his attention landed back on the little sea otter, Perlita trying to swipe at the tin in his possession. “Haha~.. Clearly someone can't get enough of your cooking, So they're trying to swipe a treat from this tin.” Kiyabu expressed with a slight chuckle escaping his lips, Before crouching down a bit. “Perlita, You know you shouldn't eat too many of these treats.. You'll upset your tummy.” He mentioned. But the following action came, As a surprise to them both. Kiyabu broke a small piece off of the cookie. “Consider this a token of friendship~..” He offered with a warm smile. <<Using this image, As a reference for his attempt to win Perlita over.>> Edited October 27 by Kiyabu Hisao Minor tweaks
KnightessCiela 0 Posted November 1 #9 Share Posted November 1 "Oh, she’s definitely not always a troublemaker," Ciela said with a laugh, watching Perlita prance around Kiyabu’s feet. "But, I'll be honest—nine times out of ten, she totally is." Her smile only widened as she saw Kiyabu hold up the cookie she’d gifted him and complimented her without even trying it. "I’ve had a lot of orders from frontliners lately," she said, with a hint of pride. "Though my biggest order right now is for my husband. He’s got me on the longest baking project I think I’ve ever done, it feels like I’ve been at it forever!" Kiyabu chuckled, and as he began to explain his reasons for being in town, Ciela’s eyes lit up. "Well, then it’s a date!" she exclaimed brightly. But then, realization hit, and her cheeks turned pink. "W-wait, not like a date date!" She laughed, her face falling into her hands as she scrambled to clarify. "Just... you know... I’m happy to help!" She gave him an apologetic smile, hoping he wouldn’t notice her little slip of the tongue. "I’ve actually done this quest before," she added, "so I can help guide you through it. And I’ve heard it’s a bit less of a slog now than it used to be." Her gaze shifted back to the orphanage in town, a thought sparking in her mind. "And hey, once we’re done, I can give you a hand delivering some of this food to the kids! They’re always thrilled to see a friendly face." Ciela quickly equipped her gear, her armor glinting in the afternoon light. With her sword at her side and her shield strapped to her arm, she looked every bit like a knight from a storybook. It was then she caught sight of Perlita, who was happily munching on a treat Kiyabu had slipped her. Ciela raised a brow, chuckling as she shook her head. "That’s one way to win her over! I guess I can let it slide," she teased, her smile softening as she watched Perlita’s contented little munches. "So, Kiyabu," she said as they started to make their way toward the edge of town, "where are you at in the quest so I know how I can best help you. I can't actively participate in the quest, but I can tank hits for you." She shot him a confident smile and a thumbs up. * * * Spoiler
Kiyabu Hisao 0 Posted November 2 Author #10 Share Posted November 2 After offering the little sea otter, Perlita a tiny bit of his cookie. A warm smile curved along his lips, While watching the familiar munching on it with a look of satisfaction. Kiyabu finally decides to take a bite of it himself. “Mh~m!” As the sweet, Yet crunchy texture filled his mouth. Kiyabu couldn't describe this feeling of nostalgia, But it almost felt like home. This resulted in a subtle tear dripping down his cheek. “Sorry.. Ignore the tears, It's just been so long since I've had anything handmade..” Kiyabu confessed, That it brought back some old memories. From the time he had cookies, Which his grandmother baked for him. “But it seems, That my previous words were not far off the mark.. Because these are delicious~!” He stated, While wiping the tears away. Hearing that Ciela had a lot of orders coming from those fighting on the frontlines, Kiyabu slowly stood back up. “If the baked goods are this delicious, I can definitely see why they are placing so many orders.” He mentioned with a hearty chuckle. “Huh?” That’s when he learned Ciela's biggest order actually came from her husband. As a gentle smile curved along his lips, Thinking that her husband was a lucky man to have such a talented woman as his wife. Kiyabu thought to himself. That's when Ciela had a slip of the tongue by referring to their newly formed party, As a ‘Date’. If she hadn't mentioned a word about her husband prior, To those words. Kiyabu might have happily accepted her invitation to a date. But he knew better than that, As he raised both hands up. “Hehe.. I doubt your husband would let me off the hook, If we did actually go on a date.. But don't worry, I know you didn't mean it like that.” After clearing up their misunderstanding, Kiyabu reached out a hand to gently ruffle her hair. “And I'll happily accept your expertise in this quest.. Since it's my first time doing it..” He expressed a sense of gratitude to Ciela for offering to guide him through this questline. “Then it’s settled, Once we've finished this questline.. We'll both deliver these delicious treats to those children at the orphanage.” He could faintly imagine the looks on their faces, After taking a bite of Ciela's cooking. “I've not really made any meaningful progress, But I know that I need to gather some herbs for Zackariah..” While explaining his progress in the questline, Kiyabu began equipping his own gear. Which consisted of a sleek black armour, That met the criteria of an L.A set. Along with a serrated Dagger, Which he kept holstered on his hip. And finally, A phantom like mask that hides his face. But for now, It simply rests on the side of his head. So his face was exposed. Spoiler
Dean 0 Posted November 7 #11 Share Posted November 7 (edited) With the store inventory coming along nicely, Dean noticed that his materials were starting to dwindle. Which meant, He would need to either gather some more materials later on or finish a quest to earn some ‘Col’. So he can visit the local merchant, Who is selling some for a moderate price. “Maybe it-” But before he could finish that train of thought. A voice can be heard coming from behind. As Dean turned to see who it was, Since he had only spoken with a handful people. ‘Who could it be?’ He thought to himself, But that's when Dean took notice of the NPC icon above this person's head. “Oh.. Just what I needed.” He mumbled under his breath, As Dorian finally stopped in front of him. "Pardon me, but I am in need of some assistance, and you appear quite capable." Because he forgot, Who needed to pay back the loan. That he issued out to them. Dean rubbed the back of his head, Since it was indeed a very embarrassing thing to forget. Especially in a position of authority, Like that of a ‘Mayor’. But he could understand being busy and all, Because of his career in the real world. “Sure, I don't mind keeping it on the downlow that you forgot.. and I'll try to find the person for you.” Dean held out his hand to offer a handshake, While accepting the quest. Dean 0 Posted November 7 #12 Share Posted November 7 Upon acceptance of the quest, Dorian nods. While taking this moment to express his gratitude by shaking the young man's hand. "Excellent, I knew I could count on you! You might start with Zackariah, the alchemist. He's often doing projects for the town, so it may have been him that borrowed the money.” Dorian suggested to Dean, That he should try visiting Zackariah first. To see if he was the loan recipient. “Alright, I'll see you later then.” Dean took the initiative to visit the Alchemist Workshop, Which was on the other side of town. After walking a good distance, Dean spotted a sign. Which matched the description in his newbie handbook, As he quickened his pace. “This must be the place~!” Dean muttered to himself, While placing a hand on the door. To push it open. “-Creaaak-” He felt the sound creep up his spine, Because of how old the door seemed to be. ‘Urgh~..’ After that odd feeling passed, Dean turned his attention to the dimly lit room. It housed a wide variety of vibrant potions lining the shelves. “Yoo..” His gaze fixated on the vials and jars, Dean felt a profound sense of wonder. As his focus was drawn in by the mesmerising sight. “Oh, hello," Comes the distracted greeting from behind the counter. A man with a long, snow-white beard glances up from a bubbling cup of sweet-smelling purple liquid. "Are you here to order something? Dean 0 Posted November 7 #13 Share Posted November 7 Even though Dean had intended to ask him about the loan, His mind got a bit sidetracked by the offer. “Really~!” While it was important to find the loan recipient, He wanted to learn how ‘Alchemists’ handle their craft. “You've got yourself a deal there sir.” Dean happily accepted another quest on top of his current. “Hm?” But before sending the young man on his way, Zackariah offered him a sample of a fondue he made in the back. “Of course, I'd love to try some of it~!” Dean expressed with a bright smile, Before taking a delightful bite of this fondue. “Mh~m..! This is delicious!” He praised, As a notification popped up to inform him of a temporary buff. “Huh!” Dean looked over the window, Where he learned that this fondue gave him a similar buff. To that deep fried vanilla ice cream, Which was gifted from a veteran player. “Nice! I'll not let you down!” As Dean swiftly left the Alchemist Workshop. “Time to go gathering~!” Quote Dean consumed, Zackariah’s Fondue sample. - Which grants a +3 to their Loot Die scores for rest of the quest. While making his way to the nearest exit, He noticed two players. Having a conversation, That's when he heard Kiyabu speak about the Alchemist Zackariah. Which meant, They must be doing the same quest. So Dean took this opportunity to make some friends, As he approached them with a charming smile. “Hey there.. Sorry I couldn't help, But overhear.. That you're also doing a request for Zackariah, I actually just came from his shop..” Dean explained. “Oh right! I'm Dean and you two are?” After his own introduction, He inquired about their names. KnightessCiela 0 Posted November 14 #14 Share Posted November 14 (edited) "Well, thank you! I'm so glad you like my baking," Ciela stated, her smile lighting up her face. "Feel free to stop by my bakery anytime and hang out! I've set up shop on the 22nd floor. It's right next to my husband Wulfrin's place, so you really can't miss it. My bakery is called Fondante's Inferno and my husband's place is Sentinel Armaments." She gestured excitedly as she spoke, her enthusiasm fueling her words. Ciela chuckled nervously, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear before looking down at her feet. "Sorry! I tend to ramble when I'm excited. Words just sort of... come out without me realizing." Her cheeks flushed slightly, but her smile grew even wider when Kiyabu actually accepted her offer to help deliver the tins to the orphanage. "Really?! That's amazing!!" She exclaimed, her nervous energy transforming into a beaming, genuine joy. Before they could get moving, a man approached the pair. Kiyabu had just mentioned Zackariah when the stranger introduced himself as Dean. "Oh! Hi there Dean!" Ciela greeted him warmly. "I'm Ciela." She tilted her head curiously as he explained that he was also doing a task for Zackariah. "You're doing first lessons too? What a funny coincidence!" She clasped her hands together and turned to Kiyabu and Dean, her voice slipping into a cheerful, knowledgeable tone. "Well, you showed up right on time. I was just about to explain to Kiyabu how this quest goes. Zackariah really isn't picky. You just need to make three attempts at gathering materials. If you're successful or not, doesn't really matter. There's no consequence, it's all about trying." As she explained, Ciela quickly tapped through her menus, inviting Dean to the party. With a quick flick of her wrist, another pink tin materialized in her hands. She handed it off to Dean with her signature warm and welcoming smile. "Here, have some snacks. I made them myself. I hope you like them." The pink tin was the same as the one offered to Kiyabu just moments ago. "These are just my little way of saying welcome!" Her smile was bright. "Now, shall we head out boys?" Her upbeat demeanor was contagious as she led Kiyabu and Dean out of town. Edited November 16 by KnightessCiela
Kiyabu Hisao 0 Posted November 17 Author #15 Share Posted November 17 “I'm sure those that purchase your products, Offer some flattering compliments in return.. After having a taste of these delicacies.. But you're very welcome as well.” Kiyabu happily accepted her words of gratitude, While taking in the adorable view of Ciela's cheerful smile. And expressing, That others have probably flattered her with plenty of compliments in the past. “I'll definitely have to stop by this bakery of yours in the futu-” Before finishing his own sentence, Kiyabu noticed the subtle play on words. “Hahaha.. That’s brilliant wordplay~!” Kiyabu praised, With a hearty chuckle. “If you remove the ‘Fon’ from ‘Fondante's’.. You'll be left with ‘Dante's Inferno’.. Which is both a title for a video game, As well as.. a book.” He explained. “And If I'm paying your place a visit, I might as well stop by your husband's shop on top of it~..” While taking notice of the nervous habits that Ciela was displaying, Kiyabu abruptly spoke up in defence of her own words. “You don't need to apologise for rambling, I thought it was rather cute.. It reminded me of a close friend, Who could talk and talk until the cows came home.” He mentioned, While using a metaphor in the process. “It's only fair, That I help you in return.. Since you're being a gem and helping me with this quest.” Kiyabu had his principles of repaying debts, Even if done out of generosity. Just as the duo was about to depart, Another player's voice could be heard coming from behind. Which garnered their attention, As he explained his situation to them. Before giving a polite, Yet swift introduction. “It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Dean.. You can call me Kiyabu.” After introducing himself, He held out his left hand to greet him. “You've also got perfect timing by the way, We were just about to leave town.” Kiyabu added with a slight chuckle. Before turning his attention back to Ciela, Who's voice had slipped into a cheerful and knowledgeable tone. “Mm..” He nodded his head in response to her words. Eventually, It was time for this party of three to finally leave the town. So they could start the next step of this questline, Which is to gather or at least attempt to gather three materials for Zackariah the Alchemist.
Dean 0 Posted November 17 #16 Share Posted November 17 After an exchange of greetings between the three players, Dean felt his cheeks heat a bit from the stunning beauty adorned in heavy armour. As a few flattering words escaped his lips. “What beautiful scarlet locks and a bewitching smile, That can captivate the soul.” Eventually, Dean realised that he said those words out loud. “Ah.. I said that out loud didn't I.. haha?” A nervous chuckle can be heard, While he was scratching the back of his head. “Though I'm sure your boyfriend gives you plenty of compliments.” Because Dean saw Ciela and Kiyabu having a rather casual conversation prior, He made a very honest mistake in assuming that they were together in a romantic sense. Unaware, That this wasn't the case. As Dean turned attention towards the hand, Which Kiyabu extended out in a gesture of good faith and new found friendship. “You're a lucky man to have such a breath-taking woman by your side.” Still oblivious, To the fact that Ciela and Kiyabu weren't a couple. Dean extended his own hand out, To accept a firm handshake. Eventually, Ciela had their attention. As she explained in a cheerful, Yet knowledgeable tone. “From my brief interaction with him, He really does give that fatherly vibe.. So It's to be expected, That he isn't the picky type.” He agreed with her words, About the Alchemist NPC. “At least Zackariah is more lenient, Than Landon was.. Because that musician expected me to gather five materials, Before coming back to his shop.. Which definitely wasn't an easy task, But thankfully.. I had a bit of help from a veteran player, Who offered me an item.. That increased my odds at finding materials.. So I was able to complete the <Earning a Living> quest, I've actually set up shop on the other side of town..” Dean explained with a triumphant smile on his face. As Dean was finishing his explanation about a stressful adventure on another quest, That was well worth the effort. Because he gained not only a profession, But a place of his own. “Huh?” She grabbed his attention by handing a pink snack tin to him. “Oh! Thanks, I'll give one of them a try then.” After those words left his lips, Dean would follow through with that promise. As he opened up the tin to take out a cookie. “Mm~..” The sweet aroma filled his nose, Before taking a big ol’ bite. “Nom~!” In that short moment of bliss, Dean started to scoff down the cookie. Until nothing was left in his hand. “Oh my god~! That cookie was delicious!” He expressed in a praiseworthy tone. While following the other two out of town.
KnightessCiela 0 Posted December 4 #17 Share Posted December 4 Ciela smiled warmly at Kiyabu, a subtle blush creeping over her cheeks. "Like I said, I don't get many customers. I think I've had a total of... uh..." She paused, tapping her chin as she tried to recall. "Three? Four, maybe? Honestly I haven't kept track." Her laughter light and self-deprecating. "But that's okay! I'm really more about the joy of baking than keeping count." Her eyes lit up as she added, "The both of you should definitely visit sometime! Both shops have a breathtaking view of the lake. The sunrise over the water is magical. And, if you're lucky, you might hear Wulfrin pounding away on the anvil from the bakery. It's kind of comforting, in a noisy sort of way." When Dean's teasing assumption caught her off guard, Ciela's cheeks flushed a deep pink. Her hands shot up in a flurry of nervous gestures. "No no no no! It's not like that! I mean, he's attractive, sure, but.. uh.. oh my gosh. I'm married!" She held up her hand, proudly displaying her wedding ring. "See, my wedding ring. As I was explaining to Kiyabu earlier. My wonderful husband is off on the frontlines right now." Her words softened as she looked at the ring, a gentle smile gracing her lips. She absentmindedly traced its edges with her thumb. "He's the best thing that ever happened to me." Regaining her composure, Ciela led the group out of town, her usual energy returning. "Alright here's the plan. We're heading to a spot where you don't have to worry about fighting. Sound good?" She led them down to an open area of the field near a flowing river. The area was serene, peaceful, the sound of the water mingling with the rustling of leaves in the breeze. This was Wulfrin's favorite spot for teaching newbies, and Ciela's heart warmed at the memories of her own first quest with him here. "Here's how it works!" She clasped her hands together, then gestured to the field around them. "You're literally just looking for materials. On my own, I just kind of looked under rocks, in patches of grass, kind of wherever. My best friend Siren usually just picks flowers. But to each their own. If you successfully find a material, you'll get a prompt letting you know. You only need three attempts, successful or not." Ciela smiled warmly at the two, her enthusiasm infectious. "This quest is super simple compared to the others. Trust me, it's way more forgiving than Earning a Living." She visibly shuddered at the thought. "That one's a nightmare without buffs. But this? This is a cake walk." Ciela found a tree to lean against, she pulled her sword out and used it to lean against, ready to step in and help the guys if needed. Perlita was off swimming in the river, doing her usual routine of catching fish.
Kiyabu Hisao 0 Posted December 5 Author #18 Share Posted December 5 Whilst listening attentively to her words, Kiyabu had a look of surprise on his face. When it was revealed, That she didn't have flocks of players coming to her bakery. “I'm genuinely surprised, That only three or four people have come to your bakery.. Even when the baked goods are this delicious, I might visit your shop more often to hopefully drive up business..” As Kiyabu had a warm smile on his face, While Ciela took this opportunity to paint a vivid picture of the two stores. Overlooking the vast, Yet serene view of the twenty-second floor lake. He could faintly imagine this tantalising view, As the sun slowly rises on a new dawn. Which would cause the lake water to glisten with a myriad of colours. “From that vivid description, You've piqued my curiosity about this magical view on the twenty second floor.” After expressing his newfound curiosity, Kiyabu was about to continue their conversation. Until a teasing assumption was made by Dean, Who clearly misunderstood the relationship between him and Ciela. However, Kiyabu found this nervous display of gestures from Ciela rather adorable. As her cheeks were flushed a deep pink, While trying to correct his misunderstanding. “Oh my.. We've only known each other for a few moments, But thanks for the compliment on my physical appearance.” Kiyabu took this opportunity to verbally tease Ciela, After hearing her complimentary words about his physical attractiveness. “I think you're rather attractive as well.. Ciela.” While replying in kind with a subtle hint of flirtatious antics. A playful smile curling along his lips. After the misunderstanding was finally cleared up, The party would follow Ciela. Because she had a specific place in mind, Which happened to be the favoured spot of her husband. Where he would teach newer players about the basics of this game. “That sounds perfect to me..” As Kiyabu agreed with Ciela's plan. While taking in the view of this serene landscape, He couldn't deny the beauty of this digital realm. If it wasn't turned into a lethal <Death Game> Kiyabu felt that <Sword Art Online> would have definitely taken the top spot in game rankings. As the most popular game of its era. “Even though this game has become a digital prison.. You can’t deny, That the attention to detail is spot on.. Like the sound of wildlife in their natural habitat, Followed by the sweet aroma of these flowers.” Kiyabu mentioned in a tone of admiration. “In that case, I'll take a page out of Siren's book.. And simply try to harvest some rare medicinal herbs.” After those words left his lips, Kiyabu felt his heart starting to race with excitement as he knelt in the vibrant patch of wildflowers, their colors dancing in the gentle breeze. The sun filtered through the leaves above, casting dappled shadows on the ground, creating a serene backdrop for his task. With each delicate flower he examined, Kiyabu felt a connection to the earth, a reminder that beneath the beauty lay a wealth of healing potential. He brushed his fingers over the petals, noting their shapes and scents, searching for the familiar aroma of the medicinal herbs. Dean 0 Posted December 5 #19 Share Posted December 5 “Wait! You and him aren't a couple~?” Dean the dense, But lovable idiot had a look of confusion on his face. Because of the way Kiyabu and Ciela were talking a few minutes ago, He was under the assumption. That they were indeed a couple, But it seemed like his deduction was clearly way off the mark on this one. “Oooh! I see!” While listening attentively to the words, Ciela quickly displayed the wedding band on her finger. “Really~! Your husband is fighting on the frontlines, That's awesome!” Expressing his deep admiration for the Frontliners, Dean saw them as beacons of hope in this dark and cruel virtual prison. As they were fighting the good fight. For the betterment of those players, Who don't have the courage to venture out. “I'm sure your husband is thinking the same about you.” With his misunderstanding rightfully cleared up, Dean would follow Kiyabu and Ciela out of the city gates. “Mhm.. It sounds like a good plan to follow, Since I'm not really confident in my fighting capability.” He nervously stated, Whilst rubbing the back of his head. Because the only quest, That Dean has actually completed was a hellish gathering one. Which netted him a place to live and earn some col on the side. “I'm not going to lie, But I have to agree with you on that Kiyabu.. This digital landscape is awe-inspiring, Like if you really think about.. One could almost forget that this serene view is a false reality.” As those words left his lips. Dean took in the vast, Yet breathtaking sight of these flowers swaying effortlessly in the breeze. When Dean heard Ciela bring the nightmare of a quest, Known as ‘Earning a Living’ some unpleasant memories came flooding back. “I know right! If I didn't meet this other player, Who offered me an item.. To help increase my odds of finding any materials, I probably would still be out there now.. Searching for materials.. But thankfully, I've completed that quest.” Dean mentioned with a bright smile on his face, Because like Ciela just stated this quest was more forgiving. “And compared to that one, All I have to do is make three attempts.. Regardless if I succeed or fail..” As Dean went to his own patch of greenery to search for some flowers, That could be of some use to Zackariah's potion. KnightessCiela 0 Posted December 8 #20 Share Posted December 8 Ciela adjusted her position, sliding down the trunk of the tree until she was comfortably seated on the soft grass. She leaned back against the bark, pulling a well-worn book from her inventory. The golden title embossed on the cover glinted briefly in the sunlight before she opened it to her marked page. A gentle breeze played with her hair, causing it to flutter lazily in the wind. Every so often, Ciela would glance up from her book to check on Kiyabu and Dean, her eyes scanning the field for any signs of danger. The two seemed engrossed in their gathering attempts. As they worked, Ciela's thoughts drifted aloud. "Ang- sorry, I mean Siren," she began, correcting herself with a sheepish chuckle. "I'm still not used to calling her by her in-game name, at least around others." She smiled softly at the thought of her best friend. "Anyway, Siren loves making flower crowns for people. She puts so much love and effort into them, like each one's a little masterpiece." Her voice grew more contemplative. "Honestly, I'm surprised she didn't pick artisan or alchemist as her profession. She's got such a creative touch. But then again, performer suits her too. It lets her shine in her own way." Ciela was mostly talking to herself, assuming the guys were too focused on their task to be listening. She glanced at them again, her gaze lingering on their progress. Kiyabu appeared to have come up empty this round, but Dean managed to find something. "Nice find, Dean!" she called out, her voice warm with encouragement. "And don't feel too discouraged, Kiyabu. These materials can be slippery, like they're hiding on purpose." She chuckled, turning another page of her book. Her tone turned casual but reassuring as she added, "And remember, you don't need to worry about combat while I'm here. I've got you both covered if anything happens." Her confidence was apparent, but there was no arrogance in her voice, just a steady belief in herself and a genuine desire to protect people. Ciela's mind ticked through potential strategies. When it would be time for them to fight, she'd be ready to draw the aggro of the boarlets, giving Kiyabu and Dean the assistance to finish that specific portion of the quest with no issue. Perlita had managed to slip into Ciela's lap without her noticing, making soft squeaking noises. Her little nose was twitching at the faint scent of wildflowers nearby. Ciela scratched Perlita's head, and Perlita drifted off to sleep. The sun continued its lazy arc across the sky, allowing Ciela a moment of quiet satisfaction. She loved helping people, no matter what.
