Acanthus 0 Posted October 26 #1 Share Posted October 26 (edited) Link to quest Part of Acanthus felt guilty for even being here. These kinds of quests weren't exactly an efficient use of time. She'd given up two and a half crafting sessions and a morning jog to make time for this; what's more, other quests offered twice the rewards in half the time. But the festivities were so bright and colorful. She admired the dancers as they spun through the streets, and watched with reverence as players lit diya with silent, thoughtful prayers. There was EXP, and then there were experiences. She had to remind herself to seek out both. Besides, she deserved a break. She’d been so hard at work for the last few weeks, making good strides with work in her studio, and even had plans to start on a powerful new soundtrack. So to prepare herself mentally, she thought some relaxation was in order. In an effort to attach some productivity to the break, Acanthus decided to put out a call on the player’s request board, inviting others to come and run the quest with her. Leaning against a building, she waited within eyesight of the Diwali attendant, eager to see who would show. Wulfrin 0 Posted October 26 #2 Share Posted October 26 (edited) Even in safe spaces like these event's Wulfrin kept his head on a swivel. It was a nasty habit he had picked up when training for the frontlines. He had become paranoid at this point and was finding it hard to invest fully in the activities with no clear direction. Wulfrin's gaze finally spotted a familiar face he had yet of interact with outside of raid prep. Acanthus was simply leaned against one of the nearby buildings, clearly in a tense state similar to his own. Hastily he sent out a message to his guild chat: Wul: Gunna step away for a bit. Acanthus is looking a bit down. "Hey there," Wulfrin said as he approached. "I recognize you from the raid meeting and Zandra's pool party. Acanthus right? Couldn't help but notice you looking a bit down. Anything I can do to help you out?" The tech specialist was kitted for combat, though all his gear was hidden beneath his preferred outer garb, a simple red shirt and denim colored pants. A genuine look of concern could be seen from behind his crimson eyes as he waited for a response. * * * NOTE: CS Shades of the Gemini is Active. He finished off a miniature platter of laddu, a dish put together by Agni, and wandered about, savoring the emptiness of the town's outer region. Music played in the distance, and fireworks tore up the sky with brilliant colours. Messages appeared infrequently, but remained unopened. He could guess who they were coming from, and judging by that night's group chat history, they were only location updates. He was glad to see his guild getting along so well. Quite honestly, he had no intention of building anything more than a place of work, an avenue for people to efficiently clear out rumors. Luck treated him kindly, and he was given so much more. "Oh, hi." Acanthus and Wulfrin--an unexpected combination in an unexpected part of town. He approached, adjusting the collar of his dark kurta. "Taking a break?"
Eliseris 0 Posted October 26 #4 Share Posted October 26 Eliseris knew she couldn't do much regarding the request at the moment. Her level and personal experiences were too lacking for her to do much herself. While she hoped to change this soon, the unavoidable fact was that she was going to need some help. She couldn't craft anything yet, so she was informed of someone who could use some assistance involving trade between the cities of the floor. She began making her way over, but this was the twenty seventh floor, she couldn't get anywhere without some help of higher level. How difficult it was, to try and get anywhere at such a weak level... It wasn't long before she spotted a trio of players, however. One of which she recognized more than the other two. "Oh, hello Morningstar, it's been a bit since I last saw you. How's Willow?" She asked. She then looked to see that there were actually two others she could recognize as well. One spent his time fishing, and the other left a conversation to dig a hole. "Wait...don't I remember seeing you two at Zandra's Beach Event?" She asked as she recalled the day. Acanthus 0 Posted October 27 Author #5 Share Posted October 27 (edited) A player, vaguely familiar in her mind, arrived and greeted her. She recalled him from the raid meeting, as well as the beach party. He’d remembered her name, but Acanthus was embarrassed to find she could not remember his. If she could just hold out until someone else recognized him and said hello… “That’s correct—my name it Acanthus. We haven’t had much time to talk yet, although I have seen you a few times. I think I recognize you from somewhere else as well… Did you happen to meet a girl named Tiye on the first floor? About my height, blond hair, green eyes." Quote “Anything I can do to help out?” She managed her warmest smile; today, that probably went anywhere from tap water to a cup of forgotten tea. “No, I’m fine. Thank you for asking.” After a brief moment, she uncrossed her hands and pinched her nose. “Yes, actually. Sorry, I’m on autopilot today. I’m looking to run this event quest while its available. If you’ve got a moment, it would be a big help for me to take care of this.” Around that time, she noticed another familiar face. “Morningstar.” She noticed that he had dressed up for the occasion with a dark kurta. “That outfit is a good look on you. Do they sell them at the festival, or did you happen to have one on hand?” Quote “Taking a break?” Her gaze unfocused for a second. “I suppose.” Seeing more movement in the distance, she snapped back to attention. Another familiar face. Not from the raid meeting, but from the beach party. “Hi there. Acanthus—very pleased to meet you. I was at the beach party. I know I saw you there as well, but you will have to remind me of your name. It was something starting with an E, I think? Ellie? Why don’t we talk a little on the way to the first town? I’d love to have you along for the quest if you have a moment. You too, Morningstar.” She talked to the Diwali attendant, who handed her off the freight for each town. Keeping the package for Srona, she handed out the remaining packages. “Many hands make light work.” She handed the red frontliner the package for Braso, Morningstar the package for Ordsea, and the final package to the young girl Ellie(?). “I don’t think there’s any particular order to do them in. I was going to start by traveling east to Srona, if that’s okay with everyone.” She hoped to gather some materials on the road while her mind was still fresh, and based on the quest information, Yvlon was the place to do such gathering. Wulfrin 0 Posted November 2 #6 Share Posted November 2 "No worries," Wulfrin said as two other players made their way over to him and Acanthus. "What's on the agenda?" The first of the two others to arrive was a familiar face. Morningstar, fabled leader of The Tracker's Alliance and Frontline DPS extraordinaire. He had disappeared suddenly during a game that the rest of the guild was participating in. Wulfrin was thrilled to have met up with him again. "Kind of," Wulfrin also replied to the question posed by his guild master. "Saw Acanthus over here looking a bit frazzled, so I figured I'd check on her. We've also only ever seen each other in passing so figured an event like this would be the perfect time to actually chat a bit." Wulfrin's attention was drawn over to an unfamiliar face to him. They mentioned Zandra's beach party, which explains why Wulfrin couldn't immediately recognize them. After getting shunted from his conversation with Star and Willow by the massive mob that formed around him, Wulfrin had kind of stuck to himself most of the event, only occasionally mingling with others. "Yeah I was there," Wulfrin said with a chuckle remembering the whole event. He extended a hand towards the approaching purple haired player. "It sure was something. Don't think we ever met though. Name's Wulfrin. Yours?"
Morningstar 0 Posted December 7 #7 Share Posted December 7 "Hi, Eliseris. She's good--somewhere in Ronbaru still, I think." Acanthus' compliment was appreciated. He wore a style that he was not used to, and until then hadn't been sure of it himself. "Thank you. There's a stall in town for the festival. You should take a look." He nodded in response to her invitation. He was more than happy to help with a quest, and had been meaning to take this one regardless. "Srona it is, then." Horseback was the easiest way to travel between the cities. Lucky for them, Ashvini's Stable was setup for the event and her rental mounts were free of cost until Diwali's end. One horse for each of them, except Morningstar, who wound up with a cranky donkey called Gregory. Ashvini assured him that Gregory was a trustworthy partner, but Star had difficulty believing her (mostly due to the fact that it continuously nipped at his shoes). A long (and arduous, for Morningstar) journey brought them to the edge of Srona, the crafting settlement of Floor 27. --- Post Action | Visit Srona
Wulfrin 0 Posted December 13 #8 Share Posted December 13 "So the name of the game is tour the floor?" Wulfrin pondered as they traveled to the eastern town of Srona. "Cool with me. Honestly, haven't gotten to see much of this floor, so I welcome the sidequest." Surprisingly enough the trip was quick. The combination of horse-powered travel and pleasant conversation helped in that regard. Wulfrin couldn't help but feel sorry for Morningstar though. Poor guy ended up with a temperamental ass of a mount for the journey. Wulfrin deliberately kept his horse, Sunshroud, at a pace even poor old Gregory could keep up with as to make sure his guild leader didn't feel left out. As they arrived in Srona, Wulfrin made it a point to take in the safe zone's charm. It wasn't long before he set to work though, grabbing their current deliveries from the cart hitched to his horse and ensuring they arrived at their destination safe and sound. "You know Morningstar," Wulfrin pulled his guild leader aside for a moment. "We can totally trade mounts. It's gunna suck having to ride that donkey all over the floor." As his party began to regroup, Wulfrin tapped on a small crystal he kept in his pocket. It projected a map of the floor for route plotting. "So where to next?" Wulfrin asked. "Best if we either go clockwise or counter-clockwise around the map, shorter overall travel time." * * * Post Action: Visit Srona
