Wulfrin 0 Posted October 26 #1 Share Posted October 26 <<Quest Details>> Another day, another trip to floor 1 for fishing. As was his new routine for this outing, Wulfrin tacked a message on a nearby job board for all players to see: ATTENTION NEW PLAYERS Looking for a quick tutorial on the skills needed to leave the safe zone? Seek out the colorful bird at the cafe nearby. It's master is currently accepting traveling companions. PS. Entry into the Sharkbait Training Program included. As is a new set of gear to replace the crappy set Cardinal gave you. Wulfrin made his way to his table at the nearby cafe. It wasn't long before the NPC waitress approached him. It was always the same person, yet they never seemed to remember his face. Understandable, given she was merely a series of 1s and 0s given form by some graphics engine in a mad scientist's basement, but it was at least nice quantitative data for his on going... research. NPCs were fickle in Aincrad. Most were very routine oriented, while others showed signs of some kind of actual intelligence. "What do you think Solaris," Wulfrin said as he sipped on a tea brought to him by the waitress. "Let's give it a couple hours before we head out. Surely there are players looking to get a start in that dangerous world." The red and gold plumed hawk gave no response to the question. To be fair it couldn't considering it was merely a familiar meant to follow its master's orders without question. Sometimes though Solaris liked to let his more wild side come out. * * * Note: CS Shades of the Gemini is active. If any player objects, they should note it in their first post and this skill will be considered inactive. Wulfrin is [Assisting] Level: 33 -> 1 P. Aiomi 0 Posted October 26 #2 Share Posted October 26 (edited) Aiomi was wearing a simple robe and held a stick in her left hand, it was a staff, of sorts, but since she’d just picked it up from the ground outside the city it wasn’t exactly stated or anything. The young woman stared at the quest board bitting her lower lip nervously as she attempted to find something suitable for a lone wanna be healer. Briefly she thought back to the loss of her two friends and as the tears started to leak out she’d shake her head, dash her eyes and then grab a notice at random before slipping away through the crowd. Once she’d gotten herself back under control Aiomi read the notice she’d grabbed and then gave a weak chuckle. A pretty bird was her contact, this should be interesting! Noting that she’d been heading the wrong way by pulling up her map, Aiomi about faced and started making her way over to the café across the square. Her eyes widened as she spotted the red and gold feathered critter, Aiomi grinned as she examined the young man seated next to the bird and then boldly approached, holding out her hand with the slip of paper as she said. “Are you running a shark bait training program?” A sly smile was on her lips as she seemed to find humor in that phrasing, Aiomi would add impulsively. “If you are, maybe a shift of the name would draw in more customers, you know? Who wants a reminder of that terrible announcement after all? Oh! Where are my manners, I’m Aiomi, I’m going to be the best healer you’ve ever met!” She nodded in agreement and confirmation of her statement before stilling and going silent as she stared at Wulfrin awaiting his reaction to her claim. Wulfrin 0 Posted October 26 Author #3 Share Posted October 26 "Yeah that'd be me." Wulfrin placed his drink back on the table. "Trust me the name is fitting. I'm actually the bait not the newer player. It will make sense later. Come, sit, have a drink. Best you learn what it is you'll be walking into." Wulfrin gestured to the table as a bountiful spread of assorted meats and cheeses appeared on the table between them. Wulfrin gestured the other player to sit and conversate, should they wish to. The spread wasn't anything beneficial stat wise, just a little ice breaker Wulfrin liked to bring along to help smooth over the awkward "I don't know you phase". Regardless of participation, Wulfrin would continue speaking once more after a brief pause to set up the spread. "My name is Wulfrin," He began as he formulated a small plate of snacks for himself. "I'm a frontline DPS and more importantly your tour guide for the day. The program consists of three parts, the first is assisting the mayor of Tolbana with a little debt dispute. Should you wish to continue, I will use my blacksmithing skills to provide you with your first set of proper gear. The ones provided by Cardinal are well enough, though player crafted items tend to pack just a tad bit bigger kick. Parts two and three are some pretty beefy boss fights mostly, though I will be the only one really fighting the boss. Basically do as I say and you'll have earned yourself quite the early level boost. Should put you up high enough to adventure on your own without any issue." Wulfrin took a swig of his drink before turning his attention back to the player. "With that disclaimer out of the way, tell me about yourself."
