Jason’s Avatar, Bastion has short, auburn hair with soft strands that catch warm light well. He wears a blindfold over his eyes that is strictly aesthetic, adding an air of intrigue to his demeanor. The blind fold features a white, eye-like emblem across it. His usual attire is a dark, traditional Japanese kimono with subtle folds and elegant draping, exuding an unusual sense of grace for a man.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Before playing Jason was not all that interested in video games. However, his partner convinced him to play the newest release, Sword Art Online. Jason was always a soft speaking bookish type that enjoyed observing things around him. Insect, Nature, city sky lines, the list goes on. He would spend hours walking around and sketching them all down to the last detail. He mainly read philosophy or science articles which was the exact opposite of his partner who was a professional Jiu Jitsu competitor -  outgoing, boyish, typical jock type but they worked well together.

In the beginning, Jason enjoyed the user experience within SAO and how detailed it was. He and his Partner took their time designing their avatars together. Then the unimaginable happened. Before the two were able to find each other in the massive courtyard the chaos of the stampede and ensued panic kept them separate. Unable to find his partner, Jason slowly fell deep into isolation only doing the bare minimum to get by or interact with people in general. Although, without the Cardinal system he would not have been able to tell a real player from an NPC. Abandoned in a world he did not want to be in the first place his mood and will to pursue anything meaningful eroded as days turned into weeks, months, and eventually years.

A few years passed and Jason remained in the beginner city. Until one day reading some of the community message groups a screenshot of his partners avatar was pasted there in high definition. A myriad of emotions overtook him; hope, grief, and anger. Despite it all he could not let himself aimlessly wonder any longer knowing his love was out there in the world of Aincard. The smile told him that he probably thought Jason was dead and had moved on but, something in him needed to see that himself. So begins Jason’s, no, Bastion’s tale to find his Prince and re-unite with him once more.

V I R T U E S . F L A W S .

perceptive

Jason’s philosophical background gives him an edge in understanding people’s emotions and motives, even when he struggles to connect. This trait allows him to recognize allies and threats, despite his guarded demeanor. Over time, it has also honed his ability to anticipate the actions of those around him.

blunt

Jason’s considerable heartache and disinterest in social niceties result in a sharp and direct communication style. This allows him to cut straight to the point but often alienates others, reflecting his emotional pain and guarded nature. However, those who look past his bluntness often discover his unwavering loyalty and depth of character.

observant

Jason’s background as a bookish, contemplative person who enjoys sketching and observing the world makes this trait a natural fit. His keen attention to detail aids him in finding clues about his partner and navigating the complexities of SAO. This quiet diligence often reveals patterns and insights that others overlook.

aloof

Jason's isolation and struggle to connect with others in the game after losing his partner lead to a detached and distant demeanor. This aligns with his tendency to avoid forming new bonds and keep to himself. Even so, this solitude has sharpened his self-reliance and inner resilience, making him a formidable presence in the game.

resourceful

Despite his blunt and aloof nature, Jason’s ability to make the most of limited resources allows him to survive in SAO. His creativity and problem-solving skills help him adapt to challenges and keep moving forward. This resourcefulness often earns him the respect of those who rely on his ingenuity in critical moments.

melancholic

His lingering sadness over being separated from his partner and his lack of desire to engage fully in the game contribute to a somber, introspective personality. This flaw reflects his deep emotional struggles. Yet, it also fuels his determination to find meaning and purpose, even in the face of despair.
