Yue Hua instinctively extinguished the light of her sword the moment she sensed the entry of a third party into the ring. Kindling stepped into view, and Yue Hua's movements ground to a stiff halt, the match's adrenaline seeming to drain out of her all at once. They'd ran up to time, which meant... what, again? She could barely recall, her mind as bleary as her vision. With some difficulty, she straightened as Kindling's scrutiny passed over her, her eyes flickering to Telrenya in the pause. The spear was raised. It drew a downwards curve in the air until the sharp end was pointing at her. Yue Hua's win. A radiant smile bloomed on her face. She did it. She held her own against the hardest opponent she'd ever faced in her dueling career. Yue Hua dipped her head in a shallow bow in the direction of the crowd, then swiftly turned to meet Telrenya as their host drew away, giving the two space to exchange their closing words. "Thank you. He's right, you know," Yue Hua said, breathless. "You fought well. I could not have asked for a better match." She shook the proffered hand and it occurred to her, upon the other's comment, that this was almost the first time she had heard Telrenya properly speak. She had a sweet voice. Like chocolate. A soft laugh escaped Yue Hua's lips as she pulled back. "Likewise." She contemplated a request of a different sort but settled for simple. Emotions tended to run high in the immediate wake of these duels. "Well, there are about seventeen weeks left in this tournament and I plan to be present for all of them, regardless if I make it into the Bracket Stage. If you're ever looking for someone to spectate the matches with, I'd be glad to save you a seat." They parted and stepped down opposite ends of the platform. As Yue Hua returned to the shadow of that awning, she rolled her own words in her mind. Seventeen weeks.
