Minako stood high above the small arena. It was a town square repurposed into a place where people could fight. Instead of the usual crowd that gave out cheers and fans that showed support there was no one around. Inside this ghost town there was not a living soul, save their own. She stood on a balcony to a long abandoned town hall alongside her co host Kindling, and despite everything that had happened before she was nervous and it was showing. "L-ladies and gentlemen!" Minako stammered out. "It is with, a great pleasure, to introduce today's most gracious host!" She called out to no one but the participants. Behind the building, lighting flashed in the storm clouds above, briefly revealing a shape within them. "Our wonderful benefactor for this evening, Emrakul." Minako said as it descended from the sky. A mass of tentacle and carapace descended from the clouds, unimaginable horror that couldn't be described. It spoke in loud combination of voices, directly into everyone's mind.

Clutching the side of her head, Minako waited for the 'voice' to subside. "Very well, Lord Emrakul." Minako said, the pain in her head subsiding. "In this match we have Mina and Jomei!" She said, not her usual self. "Begin your contest!" Minako shouted.

Welcome to the Fourth week of Clash of Blades - March Madness begins! This month will include a host of whacky, and absurd thematics, this week's honing in on MADNESS. There has been several changes from last week, so please be sure to have the Informational at the ready!
Another soft reminder to NOT use outside items. Please use only the items purchased in the Event Shop.

Thematic Explanation

Every turn players will be assaulted by the unnaturalness of the arena, and forced to steel their mind lest they go mad. On every post, no matter the action, must come with a ‘Madness’ Roll. On a CD of 6 or higher you gain 1 Madness.
Upon gaining your third Madness, you suffer from <Going Mad>. Consult the table below of which Full Post Action you take, then lose all Madness.

Note: The effects of going mad are instant, going after self healing and before main actions. Madness and Going Mad CANNOT be cured with cleanse abilities or items. Other than Sanity Tablet or Straight Jacket.

Well Rested: -1 energy cost for the first three expenditures of each combat    
Squeaky Clean: The first time you would suffer DoT damage in a thread, reduce damage taken from DoT each turn by 25% (rounded down)    
Tasty: Turn 2 identical food items (same quality, tier, & enhancements) into a Lesser Feast.
Relaxed: Increases out of combat HP regen by (5 * Tier HP) and decreases full energy regen to 2 Out of Combat Posts.
Filling: Increase the effectiveness of a single food item consumed in a thread by +1 T1 slot. This can exceed normal Cook enhancement caps. 
Multipurpose: Gain +1 to LD, Stealth Rating, Stealth Detection, or Prosperity to one post in a thread. Can be applied after a roll

Why. 

Twenty nine floors, twenty eight of them not being lifeless with large, nightmarish monsters roaming every settlement. 

Instead, they decided to go with that very floor, which meant they would be fighting out on the streets of the ruined settlement. Rather than a safe zone. No one standing around to watch, save for any other of the day's fighters. 

Why, he had no idea.. With all of the frontliners efforts to keep this part of the floor safe, he hoped that they weren't being careless holding a fighting tournament in that same space. 

The never ending storm set the backdrop for today's bout, slicking the broken, paved road and illuminating the dark clouds with flashes of lightning. Minako's voice barely carried over the storm, but with the help from a newly acquired 'friend', her message was heard loud and clear. Emerging from the storm above, an entity larger than he could even imagine. A creature with a mushroom-like head and hundreds, if not thousands, of tentacles ranging in size lowered itself like an alien mothership.. but worse. "Uhm.." Jomei looked up at the entity, taking a step backwards. "UHMEmrakul, as Minako had called it, spoke directly into their heads. God, he hated that feeling. First henchmen, now an eldritch being from beyond their wildest imaginations? Who exactly was Minako and what kind of power did she hold..

At least it wasn't a threat.

For now. 

Alright, just ignore whatever the fuck that thing is.. Jomei thought to himself as he shook Emrakul's voice from his mind. Olive eyes settled on the woman who stood across from him Mina. 

"That is definitely going to be a distraction." he joked, smirking at Mina while pointing upwards. "Won't stop me from giving it my all though. Hope you'll do the same."
