{OP-F2} Move, Darn it!

Recommended Posts

I laid in the fields, bored, like most of the other front liners.

What do we do now?

There was this rock that was blocking the entrance to the dungeon, and no one could break it.

I had yet to try.

I jumped up and looked around.

No one around to see me fail.... Why not?

I started on my way toward it.

Seeing as I was on the complete opposite side of the floor, this would take awhile.

Garou was walking through the mountainous fields of Floor 2, still bound in chains that connected his two white gloves. His black hat kept Aincrad's harsh sunlight off of him, but his victorian suit made it as hot as oven. Virtual sweat poured down his face as he sighed. I hope Floor 3 is nicer than this. Maybe I should check it out.

Garou asked around the town of Urbus until he found out about the location of the dungeon. "I hear there is a boulder blocking the path now, though," the voice of a friendly old lady explained to the lad. He thanked her and bowed deeply, then headed off in the appropriate direction of the crater town.

I saw a town and made sure to make a wide arc around it.

I don't feel like dealing with crowds right now.

I scaled a tree to gauge how far away the boulder was from where I was.

I can't even see it yet! Darn it!

Garou continued to march along on his way, but the weather of the day was too strong. His legs gave out as he fell on a craggy hill just off of the grass. The boy panted for air, practically sweating out the Ganges River. Come on! After all I've been through so far, the passive temperature better not kill me! His chains were heavier than he remembered, but he started to drag himself on his stomach towards his destination.

As the Mist Murderer was walking towards the dungeon with his normal clothing, a rugged cloak, he took the hill route to the dungeon and saw a familiar face. He walked up to him and said 'Sup Garou. What're you doing..? It's not that hot.. I looked at him with confusion

Garou grunted as he rose, sweat pouring down his face. "That's what you think..." To be fair though, the boy's thick dress and chains were certainly not going to cool him down anytime soon. Garou looked at towards the horizon, spotting a boulder in the distance. "What is that...?"

I looked at Garou with a weird face wondering why is it so hot for him, I looked towards the direction that Garou was pointing and replied Looks like.. a boulder of the sort..? Wanna check it out? But first, get on your feet... seeing you drag yourself like that is going to make me laugh my head off.. I laughed a bit and waited for Garou to rise to his two feet, so we could continue walking towards the mysterious boulder of the sort.

I sat on the boulder, awaiting the arrival of the two figures in the distance.

The red, setting sun was at my back, making my silhouette stretch out in front of me.

Cleo moved around the rock to sit in my shadow, then squinted up at me.

You know, right now, you do look like a red shadow.

Heh. Really now?

Yes, really. It's quite befitting.

Why, thank you.

You're welcome.

I turned my attention to the figures that were still aways off.

Bored, I decided to sing softly to myself until they got here....

As I was walking with Garou by my side, I took off my hood and the wind kicked in, it blew my hair and rugged cloak. I saw a figure sitting down on the boulder with the red sun beating at her back. I looked at Garou and said Looks like we've got comapny, we're not the only ones who know about this thing.. Just what could it be.. I looked at Garou in confusion

Garou shrugged and adjusted his hat as the wind picked up. He got closer and began to recognize the girl on the huge rock. "Aoife...?" He was still pretty far off, but the red hair was visible even from such a great length.

He waved back as he smiled. "I'm fine, looking to go to the next floor. How's it going with you?" Garou nudged Rage, pointing off to the massive boulder. "It is Aoife!" He ran off to get closer to the girl, almost tripping on the uneven ground of hard rock. He took off his hat and bowed to her. "Does this lead to the dungeon?"

Yes. It does. Though....

I rubbed my hand against the boulder's hard, sandpapery exterior.

No one has been able to push it out of the way. It's too heavy. So we have to break it. But on one can figure out how.

Hitting my fist upon the rock, I was surprised to see minuscule hairline fractures appear in the boulders surface.

No way. It can't be that easy. Can it?

"Interesting.. let me try!" I ran up to the somewhat monstrous looking boulder and gave a swift jab to the right exterior of the boulder, I charged my right hand up with a sword skill and fisted it, a crack came to sight in the boulder as I jabbed it Well then.. looks like it really does work

Garou was surprised by the two slamming the rock, and almost yelped each hit. He walked up to it himself, delivering a sharp kick straight on. A tiny, rippled crater appeared where the front of his foot landed and he backed up. "Wow... this is reeeeeeeeeally weird. Aren't boulders supposed to be, you know, giant obstacles rather than punching bags?"

After a what felt like hours, we'd only gotten a few cracks and chips in the rock for all our work.

I stopped going at it.

This isn't getting us anywhere. There has to be a better way of doing this.

I turned to the boys.

Any ideas?

"Hmm..." Garou prodded the boulder a little then looked back at Aoife and Rage. "Why don't we use our heads?" The boy reeled his neck back and headbutted the rock as hard as he could, doing more damage to his virtual skull than the rock. Garou fell on his butt, seeing stars as he spoke through his daze. "...Get...it...?" For a moment, it seemed that the lad forget that he wasn't a comedian like Keith Yodai.

Suddenly, weeks worth of pent up frustration built up and boiled over. Would you two KNOCK IT OFF!? I howled, unknowingly karate-chopping the boulder in two in anger. Hearing a huge CRACK! I glanced at it again, mid-rant, and gawked. I- um -Wha- I.... What'd just happened?!
