[SP-03] Those with Pointed Ears [COMPLETE]

As Ourian approached the teleport plaza, he looked back towards the city. The last time he ventured to a different floor, he barely made it back alive. In fact, the thought terrified him. However, he had to put his fears aside, for if he didn't, he would never become strong enough to protect his sister.

"Teleport! Delilah Village!" Ourian shouted, commanding the Teleporter to take him to the main settlement of Floor Three. As the Teleporter activated, Ourian felt as if his body was being torn apart on a subatomic level as he was transferred magically from one floor to the other. As the feeling eventually subsided, he found himself in the center of what appeared to be an old country village. There were horse stables left and right and the guards were knights on horses. The one thing that grabbed his attention the most, however, was the fact that almost every NPC here was an elf.

Deciding that he would bring Nelianna here one day for a little sightseeing, he pressed onward to the prairies in search of some monsters to fight.

Ourian couldn't help but admire the scenery as he walked further away from the village. The prairie was vast and full of healthy green grass. Every so often, he would pass a garden of flowers whose beauty just took his breath away. Suddenly, he hears something giggling and turns to face the source of the noise. Floating before him were two fairies, both wearing green leaf skirts and pink flowery vests. Both of them were about two feet tall and hovering above the ground. As he approached them, they stopped giggling and started to shy away from him slightly.

Maybe they're NPCs... Ourian considered, since they wouldn't attack. As he got closer, however, one of them grinned menacingly and unsheathed a dagger, attempting to strike Ourian with a sneak attack.

Battle Dice: 1 Epic Failure!

"Sneaky little bitch!" Ourian snapped, jumping back with ease to avoid the attack and unsheathing his longsword, readying himself for battle.

"My Turn." Ourian said with a smirk as he rushed at the fairy that attacked him. Side-stepping to the left right at the last second, he slashes horizontally at it.

Battle Dice: 1 Epic Failure!

As he slashed, however, Ourian twists his ankle and falls to the ground. "Dammit!" Ourian swore as he nursed his injured ankle.

Taking advantage of Ourian's injury, the second fairy rushes up to him. Drawing her dagger, she slashes at his arm only to have him swat a hand at her. She was ready for this, however, and did a little upward twirl to avoid his hand, then slashed downward at his wrist.

What she didn't count on, however, was Ourian grabbing the sheath from his belt and, using it like a baseball bat, hit the fairy and sent her flying away from him.

Watching as her ally flew through the air, the first fairy rushes in in her place. Deciding to keep her distance this time, she tosses her dagger at Ourian.

"Damn it!" Ourian Exclaimed, pulling the dagger out of his shoulder and tossing it aside, pushing himself further away from the fairies with his good leg.

Taking advantage of the distance between himself and the fairies, he takes a second to massage his ankle until it popped a few times, making it to where he can at least use it properly again. Rushing at the fairies, he prepared for his next attack.

Pushing the one fairy out of the way, Ourian turned to the remaining fairy, his sword glowing blue. 

 

"Dancing Blade!" Ourian exclaimed, slashing the fairy once horizontally, then spun around and swung his blade upward and sending the fairy in the air. Still in mid attack, Ourian spun around one more time and jumped up, using the weight and momentum of his sword to jump a little higher and slashed upward at the fairy again, then spun around one last time and slashed diagonally downward, sending the fairy to the ground.

Growling slightly, the fairy starts flying in circles around Ourian as they descended. Just before they hit the ground where Ourian could dodge properly, the fairy makes her move and slashes at Ourian's back.

Although he took no damage, Ourian could still feel the dagger cut him. As he landed, he couldn't help but thank the fact that he trained in his armor skill. Searching for the fairy, he saw it land to his left about ten feet away.

Noticing the fact that Ourian was distracted by her ally, the second fairy moves in to attack Ourian, aiming her dagger at the same spot that her ally just slashed at. As she got close, she noticed Ourian turn to try and retaliate.

 

Mob Dice: 10 Huge Critical [iD# 1493]

 

However, he was too late as her dagger dug deep into his back.

 

"GAH!" Ourian shouted, ripping the fairy and her dagger off his back and tossing her away from him. Cursing his carelessness, he backs away to where he can see both of them.

Trying to keep a close eye on both of the fairies was going to prove troublesome, however it needed to be done if he was going to survive this battle. 

 

Okay... I need to take out at least one of them as soon as possible... So I should focus all of my attacks on the one I just hit. As far as taking damage goes, thanks to my armor skill they can only hurt me with critical attacks. I should be okay so long as I plan my attacks carefully... Ourian thought to himself as he carefully watched the fairies as they slowly advanced on him to make an attack.

Deciding to wait for them to make the next move, he walks to his left slightly, keeping his eyes on his opponents all the while.

Watching Ourian walk to the left, the fairy decides to strike while she can before he can get into a good battle position.

Trowing one dagger, she is happy to see that Ourian deflects it as she rushes at him and cuts him at his left hip before she recovers her thrown dagger and flies away. Swearing slightly, Ourian grabs his waist as the pain began to subside as a subtle light emitted from the wound.

Thank you Battle Healing! Ourian thought as he moved back into position, resuming his movement to the left.

Deciding that the same tactic might work a second time, the other fairy throws a dagger at Ourian to find that he deflects it with his sword as she rushes at him with the other dagger trained at his exposed chest.

Although her aim was true, Ourian wasn't going to fall for the same trick twice, turning his body slightly so the blade only cut his armor.

As he recovered his stance, Ourian noticed the pain in his back subside slightly as his Battle Healing skill kicked in once again.

Smiling at the fact that the fairy was still right next to him, he swung his sword at her before she could get away from him.

As his sword slashed through the fairy's arm, he kicked her away before she could retaliate. Looking around, he couldn't help but discover that the other fairy decided to take advantage of his distraction with the fairy he just attacked and has disappeared from his line of sight.

Sneaking up behind him, the fairy waits for the opportune moment to strike. As quietly as she could, she slowly started to approach Ourian with her dagger drawn and aiming at the back of his head.

As she got close, her wing brushed against the tree to her right. Noticing the noise, Ourian begins to turn around. Wasting no time now that she was discovered, she rushes at him, however he was too quick and grabbed her by the wrist and threw her away from him.

Once she was a safe distance away, Ourian could feel the little pain that was remaining in his back vanish as, once again, his Battle Healing skill took effect and healed his wound.

Frustrated that their plans were not working, the first fairy blindly tosses a dagger at Ourian, who noticed the dagger and moves his head to the left to avoid the attack, allowing the dagger to sink into the tree next to him. She then takes the chance at rushing at him and jumping up to deliver a downward stab to his shoulder.

Watching the fairy carefully, Ourian manages to dodge the attack by side stepping her and watches as the fairy's dagger stabs into the ground.

Watching the fairy struggle to get her dagger out of the ground, he couldn't help but feel sorry for her, but all the same, she DID try to kill him. As he aimed his sword at the fairy, she must've realized the her time was up because she just sat there, her eyes closed and a single tear rolled down her cheek.

"I'm sorry... Truly I am..." Ourian told her, placing a hand on top of her head. The fairy gasped slightly as if shocked that a player would show her mercy. Nodding her head, Ourian took it as consent to finish her off. Closing his eyes, he thrust the sword into her chest and waited for the sound of shattering glass, signalling her death, before opening his eyes again. As he lifted his hand, he noticed something glowing on the ground. Picking it up, he noticed that it was a Loot Sphere. putting it in his pocket, he turns his attention to the other fairy, who looked rather angry at the defeat of her ally.

Becoming enraged, the second fairy blindly rushes at Ourian.

Predicting the attack, Ourian deflected the thrown dagger, as always, and blocked each slash that the fairy delivered with his sword. He could see the look of rage in her eyes along with tears. Attack after attack, slash after slash, each was deflected by Ourian's blade. Finally having enough, Ourian smacked her away with the flat of his sword and sent her flying away.

As the fairy was sent away from him, he couldn't help but feel sorry for her. The fairy he just killed must've meant a lot to her and now she wanted revenge. HE watched as she recovered and rushed back at him, both daggers drawn and ready for another attack.

"I know you want your revenge... but there is someone I need to protect..." Ourian stated, his sword starting to glow again as the fairy got closer. "AND I WON'T LET YOU STOP ME!" He shouted, rushing towards the fairy. Once she was close enough, she tried to slash at him with both daggers, only to have Ourian swing his sword upward, knocking both daggers out of her hands.

 

"Dancing Blade!" Ourian exclaimed, preparing his signature sword art. First, he slashed the fairy once horizontally, then spun around and swung his blade upward and sent the fairy in the air. Still in mid attack, Ourian spun around a second time and jumped up, using the weight and momentum of his sword to jump a little higher and slashed upward at the fairy again, finally he spun around a third time and slashed diagonally downward, sending the fairy to the ground.

Getting up slowly, the fairy rose to her feet. As she stood up with her daggers in hand, she glared at Ourian as if willing a thousand needles to skewer her foe. With a shout, she rushed at Ourian again, both daggers trained at his legs to immobilize him.

As she swung her dagger, Ourian knelt down and blocked the attack with his gauntlet. Enraged, she swung her other dagger at him only to have it blocked with his sword.

Okay... I'm getting tired of this... Ourian thought bitterly as he grabbed the fairy by the arm and swung his sword arm back to deliver the finishing blow.

As he swung, however, the fairy bit him in the hand, causing him to let go and his sword to miss by mere inches as she dropped to the ground. Little brat...

As she dropped to the ground, she kicked dirt into the air, temporarily blinding Ourian long enough for her to jump up and slash at him.

Once again, as the blade made contact, all she could manage to do was scratch his vest and land back on the ground. Recovering from the sand attack, Ourian prepares for his next attack.

Becoming annoyed, Ourian kicks the fairy away from him, sending her flying into a nearby boulder where she slid to the ground. Rushing after her, he trains his sword at her midsection and closes the distance.

As his blade slashed her stomach horizontally, she let out a silent scream, the pain obviously overwhelming her to a point where her voice failed her.
