[OP-F2](Breaking the Unbreakable) Rock'n'Roll (Complete)

Recommended Posts

Garou marched his way through Floor 2's mountains, looking ahead. I hate this place. I hope Floor 3 is better... He was sticky with sweat, heavily disappointed with the town of Urbus. Scratch that. The sooner I get out of this floor, the better!

He kept walking and walking until he came across the entrance to the dungeon of the second floor. And what luck! A giant boulder blocked off the entrance. Does Kayaba personally hate me or something...? Garou fell to his knees and slammed his fist on the rocky ground. Curses streamed from his mouth, in tandem with each slam. Eventually Garou leaped to his feet once more, a near lunacy dwelling in his thoughts. Alright, rock. Lets see how you handle some force.

So Garou had the foolish idea of attempting to move the boulder. He walked over to its right side with a determined grin, bracing his virtual muscles. When he was right beside it, he flexed his wrists, causing his gloves and chains to fall away. The boy cracked his knuckles and leaned against the huge rock, feeling for the best place to grip it. He backed up and jogged towards the boulder, catching it with his hands on the spot he felt for and pushed with all his might.

It didn't even move one millimeter.

"Garou?" Keith was standing a few yards away from Garou and was surprised to see him. "Hey Garou! What are you doing up here in the mountains?" Keith walked over to Garou and Startorious flew behind him.

Garou was startled by Keith's voice and fell on his face, his black performer's hat flying off softly onto Keith's head. "Uhhhhh..." The boy sat up slowly and rubbed his nose, dazed from the brutal impact on the hard ground. He looked up to see the younger boy. "Ah... its just you, Keith..." Garou shoved himself on his feet again and shook his head, looking at the rock. How was he supposed to move it? Son of a...

Garou groaned, realizing how tired his virtual body was from the traveling and trying to push the boulder. "Yeah, I'm definitely limited to trying..." Even though his body was sore, he felt more agile without the chains on. But he would have to string himself up once more. Every second of training was worth it. Garou flexed his arms and did a few jumping jacks before continuing. "You looking to go to Floor 3?" he asked to Keith.

Keith nodded. "Yeah, I figured I've become strong enough, and Star is really getting pretty restless. I heard that some of the floors above have Star-Stone Ingots, that would make for a great sword, or at least a good snack for Startorious."

The purple-haired boy shook out his body, releasing the stress from his real nerves. I have to remember. This is just a game. Garou grinned kindly at Keith as he explained his purpose for advancing floors. He had no idea what the boy was talking about, but Keith had charisma. The kid was always cheery, even in the dire situation where he was tied up to die at a bandit camp. Garou bowed to Keith. "Well, if you wish I will accompany you on your journey to find those ingots. Though I plan to head back to the Starting City not too soon."

"You would come too? That would be awesome!" Keith scrolled down his menu and sent a party invite to Garou. "If you want, I could have Startourious destroy that boulder, or do you want to stay in between a rock and a hard place?"

Garou shook his head with a sigh. "Keith, I'm afraid it won't be so simple..." He accepted the party invite, put on his chains and white gloves once more, and picked his hat off of Keith's head, resting it on his own. He began walking briskly back to the direction of civilization.

"Wait a sec... You aren't doing that new quest they released, are you?" Keith jogged over Garou and looked up at him. "Some players die because they just push them-selves too far with just the training!"

The boy stopped walking and looked back in uncertainty. I know this is supposed to be hard, but dying from the training. Garou forced the negative thoughts out of his head. If I'm going to take this death-game by the horns, I'm going to have to risk now instead of risking later. Garou let a smile grow on his face as he gazed back at Keith. "Why, indeed I do. You don't expect me to be done in by this quest so easily, do you?" he asked coyly.

Keith sighed. "I-I guess not... You're right about taking risks, it's just that... you're a lot like my big brother in so many ways, if you were to get killed I don't know what I'd do." Startorious nudged Keith in the side, forcing him to put his arm over Sartorious' head. Keith looked down at his dragon and scratched his chin.

Garou gaped at Keith for a second at the remark then turned his head to the ground. He choked on his words as he took off his hat, then decided not to say anything. After a while, he finally spoke up. "I... Keith, I'm sorry... Look, I won't pass away, and neither will you. We have the benefit of being good people on our side. And God or the universe or whatever crazy thing is out there likes those that are in the morally right." He walked over to Keith and clapped his shoulder, beaming down upon him. "Come on, man. Let's go back to Urbus and find out about that boulder."

The older boy with purple hair winced at the sound of "Onii-Chan," but sighed the sensation away. Good thing I'm gonna make this kid happy, but this sure is going to be a looooong adventure... Garou led Keith all the way back to Urbus, while the heat of the day pressed on. As they walked into the crater that contained the town, the chained boy turned to the other who thought of him as an older brother. "Hm... Its been a while since I had breakfast. Do you want to look for a restaurant?"

Keith nodded. "I saw some really good places back at the previous town, wanna try our luck there?" Keith slid down his menu and set a waypoint to town. His eyes changed from dark silver to green as the path that led back lit up.

Garou flinched at the thought of more travel, having just arrived in Urbus. But if it would keep Keith calm, he would do it. "If that's what you really want," he said with a sniff. Garou began walking back out of the crater down the path.

Keith began walking the path and looked back at Garou. "Ya know, you and me could make a guild. We could get Clarence and our other friends, too! Just think about it, we could become one of the most iconic guilds on here if we tried!" Keith zoned off and thought about what it would be like to have a guild.

"Um... I don't know about that..." Garou willingly followed Keith down the virtual path towards another town. "I don't really want to become infamous or anything..." It was true- Garou didn't want to have to put up with complete strangers all the time. But just the thought of being a famous warrior sped his pulse like he was fighting in battle. Deep down he knew he wanted to form a guild, but he wasn't sure why. Two days ago the idea first formed in his head when him, Keith, and Clarence were about to assault the Laughing Coffin guild.

Aincrad needs a guild of heroes. Vigilantes who murder murderers.

Garou gulped his excitement down as he scratched his neck. The heat was still raging, which was odd. He would have to go up to the actually tall mountains on this floor sometime, get out of the sweltering, craggy mess on the ground level.
