» About: Jun Cheung is currently a 22 year old tech student at Shirayuko Technology school in Tokyo Japan. 

Jun lives alone in a one room apartment in the dense city of Shinjuku. He is studying to become a network systems administrator.

He plans on becoming network admin at some lowly office. But his dream is to be a senior network admin at some prestigious 

corporation. Working at a video game developing studios would be nice as well he sometimes thinks. 

Jun was born to Chii Cheung and Sadao Cheung who are now both dead after a drunk driving incident.

Jun's father was strict, loud, and a drunk. Sadao would often stumble home smelling of cheap beer and sake at early hours in the morning. 

Waking Jun and his mother by being very loud and obnoxious. If Jun or Chii tried to get him to take it easy or be quiet they would get slapped or punched depending on his drunken mood. Chii would always distract Sadao from injuring Jun but sometimes she just wasn't strong enough. Jun often went to school with bruises and black eyes. Sadao had built up a reputation from being kicked out of his yakuza clan for drunken conduct and sloppy murders. All the teachers and school officials knew to avoid confrontation with Jun's father and to keep quiet about Jun's bruises and failing grades. Jun once ran to the police station to try and get his dad to stop, but the police told the boy 

not to worry and promptly returned the boy to his father apologizing profusely about not returning him sooner. When Jun was 17 and still in high school something snapped inside of him when Sadao returned home drunk, he slapped Sadao for touching his mother and proceeded to beat the lights out of his father. Jun ran into the forest and stayed there till morning. When he returned there were police inspecting his home. They sat Jun down and explained to him that Sadao had gotten in the car with Chii to go look for him and ended up flipping the car into a ditch because Sadao was too drunk to operate a car. Jun blamed himself for their deaths and promptly fell into pain killer addiction. He made it his responsibility to finish high school and get into college. Jun did exceptionally well his senior year and was able to get into a semi prestigious college in Shinjuku. Jun still gets high off of painkillers and other various drugs to help put his mind at ease and to help him study better. Jun is about to graduate from Shirayuko Tech with a degree in Networking. 

 

Since being abused for years by his father Jun has become very good at being obedient and avoiding conflict. When his parents died he had to work past his limits and push himself further than he ever thought his Dyslexia would allow him. He knows how to get something done when it needs to be done. Jun wasn't allowed television or Video games until he received a Nintendo Cyclone for his 13th birthday. This started his love for games and curiosity, Jun feels like he lost out on culture and worldly events his whole life so he is constantly watching old movies and TV shows to learn about the world and how people are. But Jun can get easily scared off by society and social interactions when he doesn't know the people or can't understand them due to his dyslexia. When he doesn't want to go out and interact with people he just knocks back a few painkillers and plays some video games or goes to sleep. Blaming himself for his parents death, Jun never wants to hurt another person again, unless his life is in immediate danger. 

 

Jun has always been into gaming and is constantly marveling at how far gaming has come. When Virtual Reality was first becoming popular, Jun didn't want to jump on the band wagon because he knew he needed to focus on his school work. Now that Jun is about to graduate and has already passed his finals, he decided to get into virtual reality. Jun works at King Kabuki's Sushi Bar and has been there for about 5 years. The owner always treats him nice and he gets paid sufficiently. He also has become an amazing cook by anyone's standards. He doesn't have to pay for groceries because he gets free dinners when he works nights (Which is most days.) Jun having saved up enough money to buy the Nerve Gear and a copy of Sword Art Online, set out one night to get set up and prepare for launch day. When the game came online and everyone was allowed to log on, he was one of the first to get into the game and start exploring the town.   

 

» Virtues:

Persistence- Jun knows he is an addict and he knows he has a disability, but if he gets 

his mind set on something he will keep pushing and striving to achieve the task at hand.

These tasks are usually only personal challenges when he is trying to prove to himself and others

that his addiction and dyslexia aren't crippling him. 

 

Obedience- Jun is not a leader but he is a damn good follower. Jun chooses to not lead others

because he fear he will lead them into danger and risk. On the other hand Jun knows who and 

who not to follow and once he knows he can really get behind someone, or a movement he 

will do whatever is needed of him by his leaders. Sometimes going out of his comfort zone

to achieve a task. Jun gets a strange satisfaction when performing tasks and challenges

for people, especially on the completion part. 

 

Curiosity- Jun has a thirst for knowledge and a hunger for knowing how the world works. Jun feels it necessary to 

learn as much as he can from people and resources because of his dyslexia. He doesn't want his disability to 

hold him back so he will often spend nights researching topics that interest him.  

 

» Flaws:

Addict- Jun has a hard time relaxing like most people do. Jun doesn't read books, meditate, 

watch movies, drink, or hang out with friends. Jun gets a hold of powerful pain-relieving and Euphoria

inducing narcotics. He tends to only self medicate when stressed out and is somewhat in control when 

he gets lost in his mind. However Jun will sometimes forgo missions and social interactions to get high. 

 

Dyslexic- Jun has a somewhat hard time putting sentences together, understanding what people are telling

him, and reading and writing can be difficult at times. Jun's addiction to pain killers is somewhat 

fueled by his inability to understand people.

 

Nonviolent- Jun has never attacked or injured someone based on things they do or say. Jun's ruling is that 

if his life is being threatened then he will do whatever it takes to preserve it, but will not go around seeking

danger.
