Mari didn't wait to see how the other two were going, she wanted to end this, and end it fast. Mari aimed for the wasp that Claim had just attacked, it was already flailing around on the ground. Mari charged it, then gave it a good hard kick, pushing it off the ground and into the air, high enough for her to slash at it.

WASP DEFEATED

The wasp exploded. "Good, one more, then we may just have the queen to deal with." The battle was going a lot more smoothly than she had first thought, herself and Claim were charging the front whilst Lotharian picked up what was left behind.  This wasp didn't leave any loot, so Mari didn't even bother to check - she turned on her heel to face the last wasp Guard, noting that Lotharian was still attempting to kill the remaining Wasp.

Claim was a strong fighter; and Mari knew he'd be able to dent it's health- by the time her turn would roll around next the Wasp Guard should be dead, or near death - and the one Lotharian was battling should also be gone.

Poison ebbed into his system and it burned like hell.  This was something he had suffered before though, he knew what to expect and how to  handle it, at least at this level of poisoning.  Raising his sword again in an attempt to strike down his opponent, he had something up his sleeve, but he wasn't going to use it until absolutely needed.  Staring down the flying pest before him Asagi charged in swiping at the mob, ready to rejoin his fellow party members.

The beast was completely obliterated as the sword deftly met it's mark.  Pixels scattered everywhere and as the messed cleared Asagi saw a small object upon the ground.  The mob hadn't been anything special but it seemed that he had gotten luck this time around.

A piece of material lay on the ground, picking it up quickly he threw it in the inventory.  Now that he had settled things with his own foe Asagi needed to rejoin his comrades with the wasp guards.  Sword at the ready he came up behind Mari and Claim quickly making work of the Queen's minions.

 

"You guys are doing a pretty good job if I do say so myself Mari, these guys are the last step towards the queen if memory serves me right.  Sorry I had a little trouble back there, it won't be happening again.  Im not so short on tricks to pull out that I would leave it all up to you yah know."

 

Standing by her side Asagi was ready to show Mari what he was capable of.  First they had to deal with this little pipsqueak.

He looked over at Lotharian as he walked up beside them he he looked over at the wasp guard and mumbled to his self this was the last one before the queen he walked over to lotharian and streached out his arm to put a hand on his shoulder and healed him for just one point. it was beater that nothing for now. The wasp did like that the payer could heal other and tried to attack the player but missed.

Whilst Claim was tending to Lotharian Mari charged toward the last wasp. She wanted it dead - deader than dead. Time was running out, it had began to stress Mari out - and that stress caused her to lapse in concentration. She tried to strike at the wasp - whilst it was still in mid-air, the wasp easily darted out of the way.

 

Rolled a 4 on the d10 (battle) dice.

"Tch..." Mari should have kicked the thing out of the air like she had the others, the wasp came back around to attack her but Mari deftly ducked out of the way.

"Dammit..." Mari hissed, she was hoping to land a strike; so one of the others could finish it off and so the darn boss could appear.

As he stood before the last wasp guard with his comrades Asagi was ready to fight, he wished for the thrill of combat and he wanted to prove he could pull his own weight in a fight.  Claim walked up to his side and gave a strange look not saying much.  The man truly was the silent, mysterious type, that much become abundantly clear.  A hand touched Asagi's shoulder a he saw that he recovered a sliver of health.  This was a skill that he had not anticipated or even knew about really.  Perhaps he should look into it in the future for now he was just thankful to Claim for thinking of his teammates.

 

"Thank you Claim, every bit helps and it shows the caliber of a man when he thinks of his teammates well-being."

 

As this transpired Mari seemed to be getting inpatient and she charge in on the wasp.  Taking a wild somewhat frustrated swing at it she missed, her judgement was off target.  Asagi didn't know what had riled her up so but he knew that he wouldn't just stand by.  With the show of force that his comrades had shown already he thought maybe it was time to unveil what he was capable of now.  Dropping his wakazashi to the ground he began to simply stroll up towards the new enemy with a new confidence.

 

"Mari, I was hoping you might be the first one to see this.  Now lets get to this queen of yours."

 

Quickly opening up his inventory he equipped his newly obtained weapon he had been lucky enough to have crafted.  His trip to the 9th floor to find the mysterious weapon shop had not been in vain.  The long curved chinese dao materialized in his hand.  Shining steel with a silk wrapped grip brilliantly fashioned in his opinion.  At the bottom of the hilt hung a green flair of silk, the whole sword felt comfortable in his hand, it felt ready to cut down his enemies.  Ready to see what his new weapon could do Asagi let the power flow through him as he bent his knees ready to pounce at the mob that was currently more interested in Mari.  He launched the air bringing the sword up in a diagonal slash ready to cleave through this pest.

The blade sliced deep into the creature and the new sword ripped a deep and open wound straight into the mobs thorax.  It's health bar dropped abruptly at a fantastically surprising rate.  His new sword would indeed be the pride of his arsenal.  As his feet touched the ground he whirled around to face his foe.  Smiling he glanced over to Mari.

 

"Now thats more like it.  So do you like my big sword Mari?"

He looked over at the wasp that lotharian Had hit he rushed up to it the wasp saw that claim had left him self open with his stinger it hit claim chest and bounced back the armor that he had on seemed to be a little tougher  than the wasp had thought. He swings the blade at the wasp the blade cut through the skin of wasp and fade away  his white eyes glowed a bit as he looked father down the path a load buzzing noise echoed along the trees The wasp queen had finally showed its self to the players the large queen pushed a few tree down as it looked at the team of players that killed a few of its minions a grin appeared on claim face as he said " All right the main event of this quest !!"

Mari rolled her eyes at Lotharian's 'big sword' comment. She gave him a dead stare, and broached the gap betweeen them whilst Claim took out the last Wasp Guard. "I've seen bigger, get your head out of the clouds Romeo."  Despite everything that had happened between them Mari enjoyed Lotharians company. She just didn't exactly appreciate that bit of innuendo right now. Mari would have said more; but a loud buzzing that reverberated across the field drowned out her words; as the Wasp Queen came at them.

 

 

Mari charged the wasp, dagger outstretched; the queen tried to attack her - but it's stinger uselessly bounced off her armour - thanks to her damage mitigation the otherwise successful attack caused no damage. Mari used the close proximity to her advantage. She grabbed hold of the giant stinger with one hand-holding the wasp in place as she struck it with her dagger in the other.

As Mari and Asagi exchanged the usual banter the sounds of the Wasp Queen came roaring through the open field.  He knew the sound of those massive wings well from the last encounter he had with her.  The enormous mob was just as imposing as before.  The wings beat heavily as they hovered the unbelievable beast above the grasslands.  This time he wasn't as weak though, this time he would show it what he was made of and do his part to bring down the monstrosity.  As he charged in his blade shined brightly powering up to send the mob reeling.

The blade sunk deep into the toughened flesh of the queen and stuck in the gaping wound.  As she thrashed around one of her sickle like appendages swung towards Asagi.  Smashing his foot against the queen's thorax he yanked the sword out and flipped back barely avoiding the mob's strike.  Hitting the ground he stared up at the gash in the side of the big old beastie.  A good few slashes like that and she would fall from that skyward kingdom of hers.

 

"No time to slack guys, lets bring the censored down!"

 

The thrill of an elite mob kill was exhilarating, as the adrenaline pumped he was ready for a real fight to unfold.  Speaking almost hushed to the queen herself Asagi simply made statement.

 

"Don't go and bore us now your highness."

(Im so glade that I did the detail of what my damage was on my post because for a second there I did now what my stats were )

 

Claim looked over the partys heal he shock his head a bit as he made his way up to the queen wasp. He swings his sword at the queen wasp the blade hit nothing but air he was annoyed at himself for missing. It seemed like he was have a problem with hitting anything hopefully the bad luck would pass. the wasp seemed to laugh at claim as it singer hit claim arm it did do much damage. He closes his eye as a green orb flashed were the small cut was.

Mari gave a nod toward Lotharian and Claim, the three were engaged in heavy combat now. Attempting to strike down the Queen Wasp as quickly as possible, however Mari's next strike; missed... it seemed that the Queen was much more agile than her drones She ducked under the swooping Queen and offered her team mates a grin.

"This is actually pretty exhilarating. Yeh?"

As he watched the others charge in missing their marks his memories brought him back to the previous encounter.  The queen could be troublesome with her reinforced body, in the end though he knew where to strike next.  Smirking he concentrated on the spot underneath her right appendage, near the bundle of muscles and nerves there would be a good place to deal damage.

 

"Mari what's wrong?  I thought you were gonna show me up in this fight?"

 

Chuckling he charge in launching himself into the air while spinning himself around to increase the blades momentum.

The blade dug into the queen like a small saw blade slashing as he spun.  The mob whirled around to strike him but Asagi raised his legs and made himself into a ball as he flipped forward.  In that position he made himself as small a target as possible and he felt the swipe from the creature breeze over his back.  Stretching back out to land he hit the ground on the other side of the queen unscathed.  If his comrades could make their strikes equally as efficient they should be able to down her in no time.

He looked at the Queens health bar after Lotharian's attack they were getting close to killing the queen.  The venom from the last attack from the Queens and did one point of damage the Queen buzzed around claim as it also attacked him bring claim health down a little more. A sadistic smirk came cross his face as he gripped the hilt of his sword. You could see a little bit of rage in his eye as looked over the queen one more time he looked at the queens wings. He swings the blade at one of her wings. It hit with easy cutting throw it with easy.  the wasp fall to the ground  as he took a few steps back were he had taken some damage from the queen flashed green and he heal him self for one point, claim ready him self for the next turn.

Mari turned to Lotharian, giving him a small "Tch." She glanced over at Claim who had just struck the Wasp Queen - he struck with precision and a sort of unrivalled glee. Mari wished Lotharian would fight more like Claim right now. She wanted, no needed this battle to be over - and fast. Claim sliced through one of the wasps wings, the queen fell to the floor. Mari had a new found admiration for the way he fought. 

Mari charged in -stepping on the remaining wing with one leg and giving the queen a hard boot with the other. Ripping off its wing. Lotharian wanted her to take this seriously? Fine. She would, the wasp flailed around wildly. It's pincered mouth clacking at her. Mari grabbed her dagger and thrust it hard down into the wasps thorax - it flailed around uselessly pinned to the floor. It was a very easy target for Lotharian. 

"Go on, Casanova." Mari exclaimed. "Finish it off."

As the other two dealt severe blows to the queen Asagi watched Mari ruthlessly rip the wing off of the now helpless creature.  The mob was done for but now dead quite yet.  Mari proclaimed that the kill was all his to take as she stood upon the broken body of the giant  monster.

 

"Well it seems that this quest is wrapping up very nicely darling.  Now lets get this done with."

 

Raising his sword above the queen he slashed down upon her head to end it's suffering.

As the blade came down the giant pincer mouth of the queen whipped around at Asagi.  Jumping back to avoid the death throes of the boss mob he also lost the opportunity to strike at her correctly.

 

"That was close, guess the censored isn't as helpless in this state as we thought, sorry guys.  Watch out for those jaws of death when getting near her."

He looks up at the queen wasp the grip on his sword tighten as he thought to himself that he could end the fight know. He take a swing at the wasp to try and hit it but his blade came no were near the wasp instated the wasp looked at the player and was able to land a small hit that he will regret later on if the fight did end soon. From his chest a small green orb flash as claim was able to heal

((ending the thread because I don't think we really need a wrap up: we wanted to do the quest and totally did it! Congrats))
 

The other two had missed their strikes, despite the wasp being a seemingly easy target. Mari couldn't blame them - she had the same issue before. The Wasp continued to roll uselessly around on the Floor Mari wanted to end this, if she didn't land the finishing strike she'd go mad. She clenched her teeth, bringing her foot down on the wasps head, seemingly dazing the best as its pincers clacked together at a lower speed. Mari grabbed the wasp by its head and threw it up into the air, where she struck it across it's abdomen, that was it. It was the finishing blow.

Mari gave a relieved sigh when she watched it shatter. "It's about time.."  she noticed that it had dropped something, A material and some extra Col. Not the best but certainly not the worst, Mari turned to the others, giving their share of the mob drop; the queen had dropped three sets of a strange item called 'Matriach's Stinger.'  It'd be useful in battle one day. 

"Well that's done." Mari said to the others;

"I'm not sure about you - but I am going to go to the inn, take a long needed shower then move on up to the next quest." She gave Lotharian and Claim a small salute. "May see ya on the front lines."

And with that, she was gone.
