[OP-F5] Chance Meetings and New Beginnings

Recommended Posts

Celes sat near the teleport gate for floor 5. She didnt know that many people in this game, but the gate were a good place to watch people, perhaps some interesting people would come by...

She thought about the other world. I promise you dear, I'll have the best stories for you when i get back, and I'll tell you about all of the lovely friends I made... You always smiled when I made new friends, maybe, even now, I can make you smile. she began to space out, lost in thoughts of the past and of those she missed...

Out of the teleport gate stumbled a 6"3 boy, clad in black armour. He looked like he had just run a mile, and was covered in what looked like hot soup. Slipping, he fell flat on his face and groaned as he pushed himself up. 'Jeez, that was closer than I thought" he thought to himself as he brushed himself off and tried to regain composure.

Celes watched the boy fall and quickly stepped over to help "Um sorry, u, are you ok? do you need anything?" She pulled out a handkerchief and tried to help him dry up. "My goodness, this is kind of crazy, there must be a story here, right?"

"I'm alright thanks." he said rather sheepishly, but thanked her for drying him off. "The story is basically I go to Floor 3 sometimes for lunch, but I may have accidentally broke a man's cart.. Then he chased me.. Through the streets until I escaped here." he explained and then laughed. "But where are my manners? Thank you for helping me, miss. My name's Ethereal but everyone calls me Ether or Eth."

Tristan looked around, seeing Celes in the distance, with what appeared to be the man he met at a bar. An alchemist if he remembered correctly? Funny that, since she recently opened a shop too didn't she? He walked to where Celes was with Ethereal, appearing to talk. He waved as he came over.

"And how are the both of you today? Hopefully better than me, which is completely bored."

From a distance, the young woman noticed three players. Two appeared to be male, as they were a bit larger in stature. The third, was a female. She could tell from the length of the woman's hair. Though this situation was not unusual, it nagged at her a bit. Higher level players did have a tendency to gang up on lower level players, and something made her worry that that was precisely what was happening. Sure, it could be innocent enough. But Lessa would never forgive herself if she did not go check it out first.

As the blonde approached, she realized one of the male players was a Guardian. "Hello, Tristan," she greeted, slowing to a half beside the party. She was dressed in all of her equipment, so despite her average height, she cut an intimidating figure. She gave the other player a curt nod. His guild symbol revealed he belonged to the Crimson Inquisition, which always made her a touch uneasy.

Finally, she turned to the girl. She gave her a smile, then said, "hi there. I don't believe I've seen you around these parts. My name is Lessa." Shifting her claymore to her left hand, she extended her right for a handshake.

Celes Smiled at tristan "Oi Tristan! nice to see you" She turned back to Ethereal "Its nice to meet you too, I'm Celesmeh, people call me celes!" As she greeted Celes a lovely youg woman approached, "Hi, no we haven't met! I'm Celes"

Celes looked at the assembled group for a moment "Maybe... we should move from in front of the teleport gate?"  As she walked over she asked the lot "What are you all up to today?" She hadnt planned on much, but maybe lunch with new and old friends would be a good thing.

"I'm alright Tristan, just got into a bit of trouble getting lunch.." said Ether, surprised by his sudden appearance. It appeared that he wasn't too drunk the night they met to forget him. At the sudden appearance of the blonde, he raised an eyebrow as she seemed to disregard him and greet Celes. He was fine with that, he realized the Inqusition was frowned upon by some people, that or he just looked weird with soup stains all over him. Probably the latter.

"Sure, I'm up for going somewhere. Is anyone hungry? It's a shame I never got any food before I was chased out of Floor 3." he inquired. Stretching, his black armour glinted in the midday sun as he viewed the equipment of the others. It was fairly rare to see a two-handed weapon user like himself, even rarer to see a claymore so like his greatsword. That and it was a woman wielding it, he grew curious. "Hey, Lessa - was that your name? Nice sword you have there."

"Pleasure to meet you, Celes," came her reply.

Then, Lessa turned to face the man she was unfamiliar with. He had commented on her sword, and despite her reservations, this brought a smile to her face. "Thank you," she replied, lifting her sword to have a better look. The heavy claymore emit its own soft, pink light, but it still shimmered brilliantly under the floor's bright sun. "Its called Hell Rose. Klein crafted it for me." She laughed softly, shaking her head. "Truthfully, it is my pride and joy. I doubt I would be alive if it weren't for this sword."

Finally, she nodded. Addressing the rest of the group, she answered Ethereal's question. "I'm always up for food."

Tristan chuckled at the sword compliment. He was reminded of when Celes showed off her gear to him, which was a jarring difference to when they first met, with her weapon being two ranks beyond his and all.

Tristan concurred Lessa on the matter of food. He hadn't eaten all day aside from breakfast and some food would do great. "I'm always up for food! Good thing I have a high metabolism. Wait hang on, that's not a thing in SAO in the first place is it...." Tristan lost his thoughts for a moment, but quickly returned.

"It really is a beautiful sword, it suits you." he commented, before half-drawing his own weapon from his back. The blade of the greatsword was visible over his shoulder - "This is mine, crafted in Heaven's Blades, it's made of dragon scales.." He quickly put it away again, he hated people thinking he was showing off or whatever.

He laughed internally at Tristan, he reminded Eth of himself. Always in his own head.

Celes decided it would be a good time to display her Devastator, "This is mine, Seld made it for me, its... lovely... I think... ANYWAY i know a small restaurant on this floor that happens to have eclairs we should go get some!!" She exclaimed excitedly. Sweets were one of her favorite things to eat, so it was more of a craving for her than anything, but she hoped the others would agree.  She looked at each of them, prowling like a hungry kitten, would they do it?

"Well there's a small group I remember by memory." Arekkusu said to himself looking down from a steeper incline. Not all at the same time he had seen them, but had still met many of them.

Let's see, let's try to remember them all. Arekkusu thought to himself.

The one with the Blonde hair, she was the one I met first. Lessa her name was, she helped me a few times from time to time. Nice from the start, even when I would screw up.

The one with the red hair was Tristan. Of the group, I met him second. He was the one who gave me my Violin, now that's something I can never forget. I ended up leaving a lot of col. I hope he is doing well with the money

The female with the dark hair, that's Celes. She actually helped me one time with clearing caves. How well that went... but I'm probably alive because of her helping me with the skeletons.

And the other person... I don't think I've met him before.

Arekkusu walked down the hill-like area to walk down to the party down below. He kept his blade back, comfortable with the fact that there were many of them.

"Hey there everyone." Arekkusu greeted when he approached them.

"But I'm so..." Arekkusu started, ready to state the invisible items he had planned for the day. That practically saying he had nothing to do, but he didn't want to be a burden. What else could he say? "Actually, I think I have time in the day. I don't want to make people do things, so wherever everyone here wants to do, I'll just follow. During decisions, act like I'm not even here."

Arekkusu then felt his stomach. How long has it been since he had eaten? A few abusive days since his owner doesn't really take care of him. He doesn't even give Arekkusu the apples in his inventory. Arekkusus stomach begged for a meal.

"If everyone here wants to eat, sure, I'm down for it." Arekkusu said.

Lessa cheeks warmed. "Well, thank you," she replied, fighting to keep the smile from her lips. "Your sword is certainly something as well." Then, with a small laugh, she added, "I like your sword too, Celes." She nodded, reaching back to sheath her heavy blade. "I'll follow, Celes. Wherever you want to go is fine by me."

When Arekkusu approached, Lessa cocked a single eyebrow. She seemed to bump into this young player everywhere she went, though she still had no real idea who he was. "Hi there," she replied as he joined their small but growing group.

Celes looked at lessa, " damn, there's a lot of people now! How are you lessa? A sword like that im sure carries stories, what of this one?" She sighed, it was difficult, at times to look at the higher level players, knowing she wasn't as seton, but she hoped she could learn from them for a while.

"Well Celes realize that I've now entrusted you to show me some good food now." He winked and spoke in jest.

He was confident that what Celes had in mind will be nice. He hadn't eaten in a while after all.

It looks like they would soon set off too, noe that the group was finished being impressed at each others gear.

"Well, let's not dally any further, before we end up as skeletons in a desert from malnourishment."

Celes looked at tristan, suddenly serious "Would I ever lie about good food?" her eyes seemed to well up with tears... You realize its from trying not to laugh "Dont you worry tristan, I'll be sure to show you..." She led them down one side street, then another....and another, right left left right , it was a small maze within the village. Eventually she stopped in front of what looks like a small cafe, small tables with simple flowers outside, and larger tables inside. "Its hard to find so no one ever really comes here, but I like it"

She walks inside and talks to the NPC, securing a table for all of you. You realize the menu seems to be taken from a small french patisserie, somewhat different than what you saw in most places.
