Mari 1 Posted January 6, 2020 #21 Share Posted January 6, 2020 Mari approached the inn-keeper, a burly man with a stained white shirt. "Hi, can I please rent a room for a night." He grunted at her, and Mari snorted back. She was trying to be polite, but it seemed like that wouldn't cut here. "Listen, I'm f**king hot, and sweaty - and I need a damn room with a damn shower. Here." She dumped a pouch of col between them. "That's enough right?" The inn-keeper grunted as he reached out and wordlessly took the pouch - then turned his back on her. Reaching out to grab a key from the wall of them behind him. He turned and passed one to her. The entire exchange done in a tense silence. "Err, thanks." Mari said as she took the key from him. "Fantastic conversationalist you are." He gave another grunt in return. "some bloody people...." Mari muttered as she trudged up the stairs and into her room. A shower...that's what she needed.
