(PP-F9) Russian Roulette with life (Kiru and Tristan)

"I'll try." Arekkusu said. Another flaw in logic, he can't see anything too well. But he decided not to snap on her for that, he just struck her with one of his best movements. He revoked the Crystal and put it back into his inventory, not using it since he feels he didn't lose enough health yet. "Tell me if you need a crystal."

Arekkusu slowly walked, making sure nothing is in his way before he actually stepped. To avoid falling into hole-like areas, he didn't put weight into his steps until he knew there was something below it. His blade left at hand and his eyes narrowed so he could see the best he could.

"I wonder..." Arekkusu said as he felt some vibration from an area, but he couldn't confirm it. Arekkusu then heard wind from above, he looked up, depending on moonlight to see something. He saw a shadow of a bird in the air, not an ordinary one, but it was rather giant instead. "Damn it, bird up in the air, just sneak by it."

Okay, but I won't need one. My health is almost fully restored by now. I said, once again rejecting his offer of a healing crystal. I was not going to accept that when I was the one taking the damage.

I knew that I couldn't be careless stepping through the dark so I took my time but still kept ahead of Arek. The ground was mostly blown up so occasionally I would trip in a small hole or two. There wasn't any grass and not really any tree either so it wasn't very hard to navigate to the building.

When he mentioned a bird looked up an could not see a thing. How am I supposed to sneak by something I can't see! I whispered sharply to Arek. He was being cautious so I could tell that something was up. But, I did what he said and quietly moved towards the building. In front of us was a totally open area with no cover at all, it would see us if we tried to go through.

"A perfect ambush area." Arekkusu said. He couldn't see any trees or anything... it was amazing for him to know the difference between open field and objects in forest-like areas. He covered a yawn, showing that he was getting tired, but he didn't want to make noise. He looked at the birds movements to see if there was a certain pattern into getting through the open field. All Arekkusu confirmed was that the bird can see in the Night, it didn't hit any of the trees behind both of the players, they would've heard it.

It can see in the night. Arekkusu thought. An advantage that it has over us, if we attempt to cross the field, we're done. It can easily see us try.

He then had an idea, but it was a long-shot, and he was dependent on his partner on this one. "Classified." Arekkusu whispered. "I need you to throw a dagger near that bird, but don't actually hit it."

I wasn't paying very much attention to anything so when he spoke he kind of startled me. Miss? Why would I...oh. I said, understanding what he was telling me to do, or at least I thought I did. I pulled out a dagger and listened for the big behind us. I pulled my arm back and released it, sending the dagger flying through the air. It went to the left of the massive bird and attracted it's attention to it. The bird landed where the dagger was and began to inspect it. The clanging of the metal was the cause of is pecking at it furiously. That's when I ran. I ran through the open field and into the building. Once I was inside I clutched a hand to my stomach, which was hurting more than before. I inhaled deeply and exhaled, I was out of breath so quick. Man, he must have got me good! I thought then peered out the doorway, half expecting him to crash into me, half expecting him to be occupied with the bird.

She ran. Arekkusu thought with approval. Perfect, just as planned, but I can bet ten Col she didn't know how many steps ahead I thought of this plan. I can risk a few more health points.

Arekkusu lit up his blade to activate Charge, his light glowing once again. He had a chance to see what lied ahead across the fields. He saw the area that didn;t seem too occupied, which was their goal, but it was quite a distance away since it was very small. Arekkusu then felt himself run at the bird who was still occupied with the Dagger.

  • Rolled a 7 on the d10 (battle) dice. (1+2+3+3=9 DMG)
  • Rolled a 9 on the d10 (mob) dice. (Eva-1=8= No Crit) (DMG Mit=2= 1 DMG)

Arekkusu sliced through the body of the bird which then noticed Arekkusu presence, but it was too late. Arekkusu had it locked down in his sight and took out some of its feathers. When Arekkusu felt it scratch him, he baseball swung the enemy to the side, causing it to fly far, but it didn't shatter into data pieces yet.

"Go Classified go!" Arekkusu exclaimed.

Once I looked outside the doorway of the building I practically facepalmed myself to death. He was fighting the bird. I gave an enormously heavy sigh and reached for a dagger, looking outside and ignoring his warnings to run away. Though I was at a very far distance from the bird I still attempted it. The tiny blade barely scraped the creature but it was still angered by it, It focused it attention my way and soared through the night towards me. It's  eyes glowed bright yellow as it came closer.

"NO!" Arekkusu exclaimed. "Argh, don't be retarded! Run damn it!"

Arekkusu then saw that his plan was starting to fall apart, the goal was to use charge again to see the city and see what still lies ahead. It was also a chance to get Classified to the other end of the field without going into combat. Arekkusu could've handled himself, he had worse fights.

Arekkusu then got his blade ready and sliced his blade from behind with the advantage of attacking from behind.

  • Rolled a 6 on the d10 (battle) dice. (1+2+3=6)
  • Rolled a 9 on the d10 (mob) dice. (EVA-1=8=No Crit)

Arekkusu successfully stabbed it from the back, but the bird shook him off and had him fall to the ground. He quickly rolled back onto his feet. "Just run!" Arekkusu exclaimed. "I'm giving you time!"

I started forward and eventually into a full on sprint. The bird missed me by inches as it soared passed dangerously close to me. While it was next to me I caught it's back with a dagger and hoped onto it. Run? Now why would I do that when I can fly? I yelled as it lifted me higher. I clawed into it to stay on without falling but that didn't work. When we got extremely high in the air it finally shook me off and I fell, toppling to the hard ground. I couldn't hear anything as went down; I knew though that I wasn't going to die, no one could in this game.

Why must I endure this? Arekkusu said. He watched as the bird took out Classified, and he didn;t really feel to bad, but he knew better than to laugh. It didn't matter now, the bird could barely flap its wings. Arekkusu once again ran up to the bird, this time his blade loose on the ground and his shield not even taking a role this time.

  • Rolled a 6 on the d10 (battle) dice.
  • Rolled a 8 on the d10 (mob) dice.

Arekkusu ducked its wing and slid back up onto his feet, accidentally scratching himself with the bird talons. Arekkusu got up onto his feet and sliced behind the bird, causing it to shatter into many pieces. He looked at the pieces as they dissolved, leaving a glow for only so much time.

"Are you kidding me..." Arekkusu said.

Bird: DEAD

My body slammed onto the grassless area. It hurt too. I grunted and stood up in a slightly weak state. The bird had been killed by Arek as soon as I hit the ground. The light his sword gave off only presented enough to see about two feet in front of me. But I knew where the building was already, I had just been there. That was...exciting. Let's go before anything else comes...I said, totally ignoring the fact that he killed the bird. I would give him no satisfaction for that.

"Exciting?" Arekkusu asked. "Yup, riding a bird and falling most certainly would be fun right?" Arekkusu looked at his sword, it didn't glow anymore. There was nothing else to do with it but keep it in a defensive position. He then began to walk without giving Classified any warning about him moving, she seemed to have enough sense to follow his footsteps, or at least he hopes.

"And as usual there is no light." Arekkusu said. He started to get used to navigating without too much light, he tends to see trees that were in front of him after the fields. His usual senses for monsters were up to date again. He then began to think, what would they do once they get there? Arekkusu homes was a few floors down, would a place that isn't heavily populated have any need for Inns?

Arekkusu sheathed his blade back in the socket to give himself a better amount of insight without fear. "So apprentlly the ninth floor is where the Hydra is going to be located." Arekkusu stated. "The ninth floor, with monsters that aren't too hard to take out... why would everyone be talking so highly? If a player like me can take down a few enemies here without taking too much damage, then why is everyone going crazy for the boss? It can't be that much harder right?"

It most certainly is. Besides, I didn't see you having as much fun as I was on top that bird. I was actually kinda sad to see it go. I said with sarcasm rising in my voice, trying to escape into millions of insults. He began moving, thus disrupting my train of thought. I followed behind him but not too close in case he were to stop. Arek was being too careful, too slow for me. It was annoying to walk behind him.

Of course it's dark, it's night you idiot. I snapped and walked ahead of him, fully aware of where the location of the building was. It was straight ahead, and we were close too.

I remembered the day I found out about the boss raid. It was kind of a last minute thing but I was officially part of it. Funny story actually, I was walking around here and through the window I saw none other than Zelrius sitting amongst important looking people. I crashed the party and ended up becoming the leader of the group. So now I am just preparing myself for the battle...checking out the area and such. To go back to your question I heard it's a hard monster. One with four heads I believe.

"They put you in charge..." Arekkusu said with doubt in his voice. He believed her all right, but she was a level 35 player who struggles just as much as Arekkusu did to travel in the dark,  so to have her do recon, he had his doubts on that being a good idea. The organizations are elite though, so even though he may not agree with the judgment, he accepted it anyways. Besides, could Arekkusu do any better? Absolutely not!

"All right we're almost at the area where we need to be." Arekkusu said. "Anything you want to do before you go inside? No? Great!"

Yes, why wouldn't they? I asked in a defensive voice. I knew exactly why he doubted that though, I didn't seem like a leader and I wasn't a very empathetic person either. So in a boss battle no one would think I could care for anyone else and work as a team. I'm compassionate and I would make an awesome leader.

Arek asked me if there was anything I needed to do before we went inside. I opened my mouth to answer but he had already walked inside. I didn't get a good looked when I came in here the first time but I wasn't expecting it to be so...empty? The inside was creepy. A small round table and three chairs in random places around the room occupied the space. In all of the corners were pixelated  spiderwebs and dust lining the walls. Ahead of me was a staircase. Curious, I marched up them and to my surprise I saw an unlit lantern on the table. I walked over to it right away and yelled downstairs. I found a light!

The scenery reminded Arekkusu of a Ghost town. Absolutely no one was there... Many items are on the streets with pieces of wood everywhere. He unsheathed his blade defensively and kept his senses sharp about his surroundings. Then he heard the voice of the one he currently wanted to hear.

"You what?" Arekkusu asked. "You found light? Wow, it really, really, really... Really hurts me to say it, but you did a good job."

Arekkusu walked in the direction in which he heard Classifieds voice. He then bumped into her, but didnt stumble. The lighting Arekkusu still wasn't used to.

"Light..." Arekkusu said beginning to gain doubt. "A lantern, all right. Now we're getting somewhere."

Arekkusu looked below in the room to see if there was anything else that could be used. He felt something sharp behind him, which caused Arekkusu to shiver as he turned himself around. He saw a knife on the table with a journal next to it. "A small weapon." Arekkusu commented. "A pocketwatch here too, this place seems relatively ancient."

Watch where your going. I muttered then moved over a little bit. Of course I did but I don't need your praise for it. I brushed off the compliment, busy with my thoughts. Suddenly, I remembered how to light something without need an actual match. And conveniently for us we had the materials.

Well, if you do this...I started by picking up the pocket watch. I used my own knife for this and not the rusty old one on the desk. And take a sharp object...I pressed the sharp edge of the dagger to the flat end of the watch and pressed hard, dragging it across the metal. It took me a few tries but little sparks started to come off of it. I moved closer to the lantern and directed the hot lights into it. Then put it near the source, so you can light it. I said as soon as the lantern lit. I can't remember how I learned this, just that I was a very destructive child.

"Destructive child?" Arekkusu said. "No wonder why you fly all those daggers at just about anything but your target." Arekkusu knew that wasn't too fair, but since when did either of the two players use sarcasm fairly. Arekkusu held up the journal to see it had ink smeared all over the page.

"Damn it!" Arekkusu exclaimed fruatrated. "The ink is- never mind I'm sure you aren't blind."

Arekkusu then noticed something a bit odd about it. "There are no yellow outlines to this journal. This has been recently used."

Oh really? Now that we have light would you like me to show you I can hit a target? You being the target too? I asked, pulling out a dagger as a cheery on top.

I'm not blind, and maybe some idiot spilled ink on it, ever thought of that? And why isn't it in the player's inventory then? It's not an item you can take so it's part of the game. It's probably the game's decor or whatever. I used the dagger I had out and stabbed the journal with it. A purple hexagon popped up saying 'Immortal Object.' See? It doesn't belong to anyone...If it stabbed through then the item would have disappeared entirely.

"You know I might just slice you without even needed light just so I could feel great again." Arekkusu said. " But look at your mouth, the light doesn't let you hide what a bloody mess it looks like."

He once again looked at his inventory to find his healing crystal. "Just use the crystal and swallow your pride." Arekkusu said. "Its obvious you need it."

And what could you possible gain from harming a higher level? Tea party talk, bragging rights? I inquired, taunting him. It was true, the part of my hand where I touched my mouth was utterly red with blood. It was disgusting to see such a state of weakness. I wiped the blood from my mouth on my sleeve and glared at him.

Bleeding from my mouth isn't worthy of a crystal. I don't need a healing crystal, you barely did anything to me. Mostly the blow from him hurt more than anyone I have ever experienced but I wasn't about to admit that. I also wasn't about to use his items to heal myself.
