(SP-F5) Shark in the sand? <<Blood in the Sand>> [COMPLETE]

Yuji roam the desert area, trying to find something. "Tch...where is that rumored monster...said it's around here...but I didn't see anything but sand until now."

 

Yesterday, he heard rumors of a monster swimming in sand on F5. Yuji find that hard to believe, but when they said that the monster gives out rare item when defeated, Yuji interest piqued up. After that, he decided to search for that said monster.

 

....Which puts him in this situation.

 

"Arghhh,where is that monster!"

The sun burn his body. The heat in the desert dry him. He look at his water ration; there's some left. "Better keep some for later... Tch..I hate I have to search for monster that may or may not exist..." 

 

After searching for half hour, Yuji search for a shady place. He found a palm tree and quickly sit under it. "Ahh...better. Right,let's see... From what I can remember,they said that he monster looks like a fish. On top of that, it has sharp fin..."

 

"Sharp....fin?"

 

Yuji stand up. He take his sword and put the blade on his left hand. "Well,here goes nothing." Yuji cut his own hand, blood drip from his hand down to the sand. He hold his left hand,enduring the pain.

He walk away from the tree, hand still bleeding. As he walk, his blood make a trail with each step he take. Yuji open his ear; he can hear something coming towards him from behind. He turn back, only to see nothing.

He can hear the sound of something moving. He can feel the ground vibrate too. He look down.

 

It's there, the monster. Yuji jump back as the monster is underneath him; the monster jump out and he can see the monster. He rush in with his sword and land a quick jab at the body, throwing it away. The monster quickly dive back into the sand.

 

"Haha, found you Sharkie!"

 

Yuji: 34/34 (Bleed, -1 HP. 1 turn left.) (LIfe leech activated, gain 1 HP)

Yuji keep his eyes on the shark as it swim in the sand. "This will be the first time I see a monster like this. I wonder what will it drop~" The shark suddenly jump out, taking Yuji by surprise. "I shouldn't have daydreaming in battle."

However it didn't jump too high. The shark even hit a stone when it try to dive back, making it confused a little. The shark splash on the sand like a normal fish; Yuji take his chance and try to attack, but he miss a few inch. The shark quickly dive back.

 

"Arghh, there goes my chance."

Yuji kick the sand, but the shark won't come out. He throw the stone, but the stone didn't go into the sand like the shark did. "Weird. That means only the shark can dive into the sand. Cheater." The shark circle under him,waiting for the perfecct moment to jump out. Yuji follow the shark's movement, preparing himself for a surprise attack.

 

The shark jump. It shows its sharp teeth. "Looks strong enough to tear through iron...." Yuji jump to the left, avoiding the shark. Quickly it enter the sand.

 

"Great, I have no chance to attack."

"Fine! You stay there in the sand while I climb a tree. Let's see how you're going to attack me." Yuji run back to the palm tree he found earlier and climb it to the top. The shark jump out and try to bite his butt when he climb, but Yuji climb fast. The battle went into stalemate as both fighter can't reach each other. The shark swim around the tree, waiting for Yuji to come down.

5 minutes later~

 

"Arghhh,so hot! I don't have any water left too.... Why did I choose to climb this tree.."  Yuji look down; the shark guard the ground, giving him no chance to land safely. "Well then, I'll just take the risk then. I can't no longer stand the heat!" He jump down from the top of the tree towards the shark. The shark jump out at the same time towards him.

 

"Oh,you want to eat? Why don't you eat this?!" Yuji point his sword towards the shark; the sword pierce its mouth, forcing it to dive back into the sand. "Haha,how do you like that." He land in the ground with a flip, expressing his joy in hitting the shark like a monkey.

Yuji watch the shark as it swim in the sand. "Looks like it gets faster after it lose 1 bar of HP. Better be careful.." Yuji step forward slowly while trying to get closer to the shark. The shark resurface and charge at Yuji. He stand still, waiting for the perfect moment to evade...

 

The shark leap towards Yuji; quickly he slide forward while he bend his body. He can see the lower part of the shark and he try to hit it, but the shark glide in the air like bird.

 

"The hell?"

He turn backward and see the shark coming fast at him. Yuji jump up to the rock nearby and wait for the shark again. The shark leap out again at him; Yuji jump onto its back successfully and lunge his sword into the body as hard as he can. The blade went through the body and the shark fall to the ground, unable to dive in for the moment.

The shark lay still on the ground, no movement whatsoever from the shark. He approach the shark slowly, sword gripped tightly. His footsteps didn't produce any sound. 

 

The shark dive into the sand. Yuji put up his guard and jump back. He run to the left, chased by the shark. The shark jump out and open its mouth wide. Yuji shift his direction to the right and run in that direction. The shark miss Yuji just a little and bit the empty air.

Yuji jump from one place to another. Energy consuming, but if it works he can confuse the shark. He got too busy jumping he lose track of the shark when he want to confirm the position of the shark. He look around for its shadow or fin, but he don't see any.

 

"Not good...Argghhhh!"

 

He look to his left and see the shark next to him. His left arm...gone. Yuji face the shark and slash upward, throwing it into the air. "Gah...my arm..."

"Even without my left arm, i can still defeat you!" Yuji jump up, reaching the shark that is still in the air. He swing his sword down towards the shark, sending it crashing down on the sand. The shark use its cheap trick again to hide from Yuji. He land on the ground and bury his sword deep inside the sand where the shark dive. The sword meet its target; Yuji swing the sword upward and pull the shark out of the sand.

I throw the shark out from the sand and into the air. The shark struggle to get back inside the sand, I hold the sword in my right hand as firm as I can and run towards the shark. Lifting the sword up high in the air, I wait for the shark to reach me. Foolish for me to do that for he shark fall at me instead, making us both fall to the sand. It bite my right shoulder,the pain are unbearable. I roll on the ground to throw away the shark.

I stand up and step back a little from the sand shark. Then I jump to the left and start running. The shark doesn't dive, but instead float in the sand. It swim in the sand with great agility, chasing its meal for today. I turn around and see that monster open its mouth wide as it closing in to me. I run towards a tree not far from here. Running as fast as I can as my life depends on it, I'm confident enough I can pull up a trick. 

 

"Hey shark, have you ever eat a tree root?" After saying that, I go for a jump kick on the tree. Instead of kicking it, when my right shoe touch the bark, I push my body towards the tree and jump away from the shark underneath me. I fly, or glide through the air.

 

"Not the best experience I have, but it's OK." I didn't turn around to look at the shark. I know I have successfully carry out my plan. My main concern now right now; lading safely on ground.

I somersault in the air. Having acrobatic skill really helps me. I land with my two feet on the solid ground. Turning around, I see the shark stuck on the tree. Apparently it bite the tree when I jump, and the sharp teeth stuck on the tree. I stop the bleeding on my right shoulder by pressing the wound as hard as I can. It hurts, but I'm accustomed to the pain. I look back at the shark; it manage to detach itself from the tree. Going back into the sand it goes; I ready myself for another attack.

If I want to win this fight I need to go aggressive. Dodging all the time won't give me the upper hand. So I wait for the monster. It doesn't took me a long wait. As if knowing I wait for it, the shark swim as fast as it can. It then leaps out and dive at me.

 

"Now!" I step forward two times and place myself underneath the shark. I stab its body two times and then I sidestep. With great vigor, I swing the sword down on the shark, slamming it down back into the sand.  If that didn't break one or two bone, then that shark really have some great skin to protect itself.

I run around in a circle after attacking. This way, the shark won't be able to attack me that easily. It works well, the shark can't catch up to me. Moreover, it seems to be slowing down. That attack must have done some damage to its swimming capability. That or the shark got tired. 

 

I'm getting tired from all the running and jumping too. At this rate the shark will have my leg...

I need to catch my breath. I run out of stamina right now. My breathing ragged and I'm panting like a dog. I muster any energy I have left inside me and jump as high as I can onto a tree. I can't reach the top because I didn't jump high enough, so I climb up. I look down; the shark are nowhere to be seen. I breath slowly and relax my strained muscle.

I'm ready to face my attacker. I stand up and ready myself to jump down when the tree suddenly shake. "What kind of tree is this? At this rate..." I struggle to balance myself. I glance down and see the cause of the shaking tree. The shark tackle the tree with its head many times. "That predator can do something like this?"

 

I lose balance and fall from the tree. The shark jumps out towards me and open its mouth wide." My head will be crush if I didn't do something. I guess I have to go for extreme measure..." I turn sideways and use my body to take the attack. The teeth tears through, I can feel it. I push myself and the shark to the ground, sending us both crashing. The sand disappear back into the sand while my HP drop into the yellow zone.

I stand up with great difficulty. I check the wound the shark inflicted; it's not deep enough, but if I didn't struggle to escape I will be eaten alive. Death by shark doesn't interest me. I look around to see where the shark. Again the shark disappear from my sight. I stay on my toes. Surprise attack from the shark won't do me good in my worse state.
