[SP-F1] the Slayer enters the gamers realm [Complete]

Recommended Posts

Lucifer looked at the game in his hands for a brief moment before he sighed and grabbed the head gear before he put it on and laid down on his bed, placing the gear on his head to start it up “link start.†He said half mindedly before it turned on and ran it’s checks, whirring as it started everything up. Closing his eyes he sighed a bit before he felt the games ability take control over him and launched bringing him into the game to appear standing in the middle of the starting city. He took a deep breath in before he sighed releasing all the air before he opened his eyes finally before he took a slow but proper look around before he placed a hand on his forehead, “what the hell…†he murmured to himself as he looked around the city.

It was weird, it was as if he travelled back in time, but he knew it was a game, looking down at his hand again he noticed something, the scars from his real body were gone but something felt odd about the game itself.

“umm…†he said to himself before he sighed heavily again, “I should have read the damned manual before I jumped into this game.†Raijin said to himself as he felt stupid, he shrugged his shoulders before he noticed something attached to his hip, “oh! A sword!†he exclaimed to himself in his thoughts before he placed his hand on the hilt, it felt weird, he never used a weapon once back in the real world, but here, he would rely upon a weapon to survive.

Looking at the long sword he frowned, it wasn’t much, before he noticed someone off in the distance, “oi, you, where can I find out more information on the game…†Raijin said as he walked closer to the man standing clearly over the young male, he looked up frantically at Raijin and pointed to the training grounds within the city limits and he nodded, “thanks.†He said simply before he took off running in that direction, somehow his body seemed heavy, but why? Why was his body so heavy! He was in prime fighting condition and a slight run like this wouldn’t wind him so easily, but why was it effecting him so right now.

Gritting his teeth as he ran, “I’ll get to end of it all sooner or later!†Raijin thought to himself as he slowed to a halt before he panted a bit now, “this sword is added weight I’m not used to.†Raijin thought to himself before he looked around and noticed the training location around finally before he walked over and drew the sword, “I guess it’s time to get used to a sword…†he said to himself before he swung the sword awkwardly and hit the dummy, only to get the sword lodged before he teetered the blade free from the dummy before he looked at it, “it’s heavy, long, and it seems rather dull…†Raijin said to himself as he looked at the sword.

Lifting the sword again he swung it at the dummy again before he noticed something about the sword, it was meant for one handed combat, so he understood the ideal behind the sword. “I remember knights used to use these back in the day… no wonder they trained with them so much.†He thought to himself as he looked back at the dummy before he swung his sword again before he hit it awkwardly and it knocked the sword loose from his hand.

Gritting his teeth as he watched the sword clatter to the ground, “so weak…†he said to himself as he punched the dummy with his fist before he shut an eye and shook his hand, “there’s no way that should have hurt…†he said to himself before he walked over and grabbed the sword at his feet, “this is going to be troublesome…†he said looking at the sword before he closed his eyes and thought back to the books he used to read as child, “the knights training would require them to wield the blade as if it was a part of the body itself.†He thought to himself as he pictured some training techniques.

All the while as he picture the techniques, he would stop and take them step by step to understand and pick up the movements of it all the more quicker.

Swinging the sword around he grew tired still and fell the ground and sighed heavily, “I’m just not used to carrying a sword around!†he said before he noticed that the hip strap had a second function to be carried at his back, it made more sense to carry it on the back but also sometimes harder to grab or place back in its scabbard. Shrugging his shoulders Raijin shook the thoughts from his head as he stood back up and started the steps over again as he got the first training down now, “okay so I step… and slash downward…†Raijin said as he did so before he took another step before he lunged the sword forward.

The blade was still sharp enough to cut through the air with a swooshing sound, before he rotated in a pivot on his left foot to make a swing arc slash behind him before he panted still, “damn… this is going to take all day!†he said to himself as he continued to train his sword skills, but little did he know he was rather limited to how far he could advance with his skill of the sword.

Looking at the blade he sighed and shrugged his shoulders, “I’ve got to find a way to get a better weapon… and hopefully find out how to defeat monsters.†He said to himself as he looked around again before he sighed, “but first things first...†he paused, “how the hell do I pull up the menu button?†he finished with a frustrated sigh.

Sitting down after he sheathed his sword and moved the swords scabbard to his back manually he closed his eyes before he thought about it, “wait a minute… I saw some other players moving their hands around earlier…†he thought to himself as he paused picturing it in his mind for a moment, “they’re both using different hands…†he thought to himself before he sighed and gritted his teeth, “damn it!†he exclaimed frustrated, and annoyed.

Standing up he turned and looked at the dummy beside him and swung his sword from his scabbard and hit the dummy a few times in a row without the sword bouncing from his hand which surprised him and made him stop to look at his hands and the sword now, “I’ve… gotten better with the sword already? Or am I just used to wielding the sword already…†he thought to himself before he sighed and shrugged his shoulder, “oh well…†he said before he sheathed the sword again.

Looking up into the sky he sighed after sheathing his sword, the warm blue sky with the fluffy white clouds in the sky as he remained standing still before he looked back down to look around and sighed, “how in the hell do I use the menu!†he said calmly as he sighed heavily, “this is most troubling…†he said to himself as he flailed his hands about before he noticed the time up in the top left view before he raised an eyebrow and looked around the screen to notice buttons and sighed heavily.

Sitting down still he hung his head, “it was something this simple!?†he thought to himself as he fell backwards onto his back and placed both of his hands on his head and gritted his teeth, “great… I feel like an idiot now…†he thought to himself before he pointed at the menu to try it out, and oddly it worked, he felt smart, but his ego shut that down instantly, the only thing he allowed himself to be smart about was fighting, getting in close and knocking his opponent out, but that was with his own body back in the real world, this was a data world, a gamers world.

Sighing heavily he looked at his hands and rested his left forearm along his forehead, “man, there really isn’t a logout button in the menu.†Raijin said to himself softly as he looked at the menu still thinking back to when he heard some of the other players talking about being stuck in the game, like it was some sick joke, they seemed to have never left the beginners City at all, which they remained stuck at level one because of their fear and Raijin sighed thinking about it, "yare yare..." he said softly as he sat back up before he drew the menu up again and looked at his inventory, "I got some water and bread..." he said before he noticed the skill menu.

Opening it up he glanced at it for a few moments, "it seems I have a skill in the straight swords..." he thought to himself as he closed the menu drawing his sword as he looked at it, "it'd explain why I was able to learn more about wielding this sword..." he added to his thoughts as he looked at the sword and closed his eyes before he sighed, "I hate weapons... but this is a game..." he said to himself thinking of how unsightly weapons were, his mother died from one and he now was stuck to using them. "but I'm stuck in this game and I'm not willing to find out what happens when you die in this game..." he finished saying.

Shrugging his shoulders he opened his eyes again, “oh well, warriors are never afraid to advance their skills further then what they currently are, why should I hinder myself!†he thought to himself before he looked around and sheathed his sword again, “oh well, I guess it’s high time I go for a nice little jaunt around this town, city or castle, or whatever it is….†He said aloud to himself before he stood up finally before he brushed himself off and looked around, at least his clothing color was some of his favorite colors, that’s all he could be thankful for at the moment… he supposed.

Walking out of the training grounds he looked around before he randomly chose a route to take, “I guess I better get used to this area… otherwise I will never be able to make it anywhere without knowing my surroundings…†he thought to himself as he started to walk forwards, which undoubtedly led back to the center of the city.

As he walked he looked around and noticed shops, inns, blacksmiths, alchemists, jewelers or as they were called artisans, tailors, merchants, chiefs, fishermen, and from what he could hear up ahead, performers.

It was all weird, this game managed to have its own functioning system that allowed for those to be able to sustain themselves in this world.

Raijin stopped in the middle of the city while he looked around and noticed that there were players that were happy, others scared, and others with a look of death in their eyes, whether they witnessed it or ran from it allowing a friend or comrade to die. It pained him to see such a thing, that others had to witness such a thing as he did, his father tried hiding the fact from him that his mother was in a hit and run attempt on his life, not his mothers.

Sighing as he looked around Raijin could only help but feel that there was trainings that needed to be done, but, that was not going to stop him, he was going to find a way… a way that he… would get stronger. Strong enough to maybe… just maybe help everyone to escape this misfortunate world, or maybe he’d find a way to break out of it, even though he knew there was no way of that, it was one of those games that probably just had to be defeated, the final level, but how many levels were there in this game, more information that he didn’t pay attention too but that wasn’t what bothered him.

Something was different… off about this game in a way, before he stopped, a sudden shock on his face, he walked over to the water, “no wonder why this game felt so real… it had his face in it, but why? He remembered making a character face to hide his.

Looking at his reflection still, he had shock still written upon his face and he sat down and looked at his hands before he could feel all the scars he had upon his body, but that was just from muscle memory and knowledge that they were there. He looked at the water again and sighed as he sat down on a stone bench that was beside where he stood, “can this really be real?†the shock of the game locking him in and with no site of the end being near yet he shook his head and slapped his forehead, “fool! Don’t let a game discourage you! You can win this, you can find help, and become strong! You don’t have to remain stuck in this game forever, you just need to get stronger!†he thought to himself before he looked up and sighed, “I wonder though… would killing monsters help with my level?†he thought before he looked at his info quickly again and noticed his level had gone up by one.

No longer was it level one, he was now a level two, it made him smirk, “heh… I actually leveled up!†he thought to himself before he looked up and around before he nodded with self-approval. As if it was to give him more courage that he could face the game without a second thought or discouragement to drag himself to his slow crawl to his goal now, sure it may have sounded foolish or like he was from some comic or manga, or what most kids watched or heard, from a hero or someone who did their best for others, this was more of a selfish need than it was for others, he wanted to get back to the real world to better his own life.

Raijin stood up and looked over and noticed a young girl running through the village, somewhat short of height, remaining still he clenched his fist tightly, “even children are stuck in this game…†he thought to himself as he stood there looking back to the fountain before him and he punched the stone with his fist and sighed. “I must get stronger…†he thought to himself clenching his fists tighter and tighter, “I have to get stronger… faster…†he thought to himself now, his anger and rage taking over, more and more as he thought about it before he released his hands and released a heavy deep sigh.

“How can I allow myself to get angry over such trivial matters, we’re all prisoners of this game it seems and yet I’m only a miserable level two!†he thought to himself as he looked around and sighed again, starting to walk again he noticed the difference in armor and gear that was being worn by the different players and styles that they had, “there’s a curious amount of difference in the armor, and the weapons it seems, but I cannot see the difference what so ever…†he thought to himself as he stood there, “I  guess it’s time I figured what kind of character build I want, or need, compared to what kind of profession I need to help me further myself further.†He thought to himself.

“What kind of character should I be?†Raijin thought to himself as he found a quiet location to sit and ponder these kinds of things, “should I become a damage dealer, or should I make myself strong enough to absorb a lot of damage…†he thought to himself thinking about it before he sighed, “I was always good at taking hits but this game… something tells me it’s much more dangerous than just a normal fist fight…†he paused within his thoughts.

Sitting there idly as his thoughts pursed through his mind, curious about what kind of man he should become in this game, or even the kind of people he’d meet in general.

“Should I make potions to heal myself, or should I make weapons and armor that could help in the grand fight against this game…†he thought to himself, the menu in game helped him gain some information, but something’s required information well known by others instead, “seems I need to gather more information while I gather my strength in this game…†Raijin thought to himself as he looked about the area now, but still curious as to what kind of profession he should take, “ARGH! This is frustrating as hell!†he shouted aloud at himself as he sat there still.

Looking up into the sky he sighed, “what job should I take up to help the world…†Raijin thought to himself as he looked up into the sky now laying on a patch of grass still thinking about the profession before he shook his head, “no… I should be focusing on what kind of character I should build myself into!†he said before he noticed a pair of crossed clouds that looked like a duel pair of swords and he frowned undoubtedly and shook his head “like hell I could do something like that!†he thought to himself before he thought about it, “what if I were to build a damage dealing beast?†he thought to himself, in gamer terms what he meant to say was a damage per second tank, although unaware of how tricky they are to pull off, it was best that tanks be left to being the overly armored characters, and he was not one of those characters to try that style at all.

He sighed thinking about it, “why would I want to be at the front of the line?†he thought to himself as he shook his head, “that’s just a foolish choice all around…†he added to the previous thought before he sat up, “I wonder if I’d be able to be a ninja type character…†he thought to himself before he sighed, “no… that’d require way too much time and money to make here…†he said shooting it down already.

Getting up, he walked around for a bit frustrated and unsatisfied by his own choices of what kind of profession he should choose, and what kind of character he should become, before he sat up and laughed snapping his fingers, “I got it!†he said happily, “if I’m going to try and get stronger, I’m going to need potions to heal and to hopefully get me money, I just need to find a way to make all of this happen…†he thought to himself before he sighed, “that leaves the character build style still…†he thought to himself before he shrugged it off, “first, let’s get stronger! Can’t decide on anything until I’m strong enough to do something now can I.†he said to himself as he sighed, “okay…†quests…†he thought to himself, “I heard something about quests…†he said softly.

Raijin quickly jumped up and started to walk around the city again, but not gathering quests or anything, it was just a simple matter of him searching around and trying to figure out what he wanted to do, what would help him, and what would give him reason and cause to do the quest, he wasn’t going to waste his time with some crappy quest that wouldn’t help him get stronger or better.

Sighing as he continued walking around he noticed that the city had different districts and styles along the districts, but yet, there was four exits into the wilds of the game itself, he was on floor one, and he hadn’t bothered to go out into the wilds yet, he felt rather weak but he shrugged his shoulders, “oh well, what can I do about something I can’t deal with yet, I’ll deal with one thing at a time!†he thought to himself, determined again.

Raijin looked around before he noticed quests appear that had a difference in their levels as well as had a repeatable notification around them, it was actually rather interesting to him, he never saw anything like this, it was almost as if he was in a realm of weapons and fighting was a real meaning and purpose to stay alive the entire time.  Before he looked down to his hands and clenched them, “it’s just as if I was fighting to live back home.†He said as he shrugged before he turned around and walked back to the training grounds, “it’s time to go ensure I can control my sword and hopefully find a way to make money and more about the system to get me by so I can fight and make my way through this world without having to deal with too much of everything or everyone…†Raijin said as he sighed.

The thought of him having to train all over again, it kind of bothered him, having to start all over again, from being as strong as he was physically in the real world to having to end up dealing with this kind of thing, weakness… it pissed him off thinking about it so he put his thoughts elsewhere , or at least tried too.

After he found the training grounds again he noticed a few characters inside it this time, last time he wasn’t really paying attention to notice anything or anyone there aside from the dummies before. All three of the characters standing before him were NPC’s, something he never really encountered all that much within the game yet, but yet for all he knew, he’d be encountering them for the rest of his life in Sword Art Online.

â€œWho are you?†Raijin asked as he walked into the training grounds further, eyeing the weird looking beings before he stopped what they were doing and looked at Raijin now, one of them nodded to the other before it walked away, “welcome player, this is the training location, would you like some assistance understanding Sword Art Online’s combat system?†the male NPC asked.

Raijin stopped and looked at it, before he sighed and nodded slowly, “I guess I have no choice but to accept…†he said softly before the NPC smiled now, “good, I see you like long swords or known as straight swords, you can have up to 9 skills total, with subsections of different sub-skills that don’t count towards your skill list, you should take head to what skills you take because some of them could lead to your destruction, and others waste a skill slot.†The NPC started explaining.

Raijin looked at it and nodded with a sigh, “well that’s obvious…†he thought to himself before he shrugged, “okay.†He said simply before he drew his blade, “are there any skills or styles for the different categories of the weapons?†he added, the NPC looked at him and nodded, “although, those, you must find yourself, and the holder of them as well.†It added, Raijin looked at the NPC with a furrow on his brow.

The NPC trainer looked at Raijin and smiled again, “do not worry, there are other ways to build you character such as armor class, and the enchantments your gear can gain, some may be stronger than others, some weaker than others, but depending on your characters design you can make a character strong enough to do almost anything at a higher level.†The NPC said.

Raijin looked at the NPC and sighed heavily, “yet I’m only a simple level 2…†he said looking at the NPC, he then got curious about something, “you said I can obtain up to 9 skills, what if I limited those skills.†He asked.

The NPC looked at Raijin and shook it’s head, “no, you are now level three, according to the data before me, and also no, you are limited to only 9 skills, after that, you will be required to purchase or to find the location or quest for the sub-category skills that defy the skill rule.†The NPC said turning to the dummy, “for instance, your skill is with the straight sword on your back, hit the dummy and you will notice that your damage is always +1 due to your novice skill with the sword you’re wielding, once you do this, you must be careful, some classes require specific skills and at certain ranks in order to work, or be gained.†It added.

Raijin looked at the npc now and sighed heavily, this was way too much information being handed to him, and it was so fast and consistent that he felt like he was trying to read a book in a race against the fastest racer, with the fasts book reader ever, on the same team of all things. He felt his head start to spin a bit, but he shook his head to clear it, the information he was receiving was helpful, but also a deterrence, well more of a pain in his but that it was to have to go and worry about the whole situational fact that he had found out that he had the right sense of direction recently, but he needed to get better, quickly.

Raijin looked at the NPC now, before he was about to ask a question before he stopped from a sudden shock, “wait… what? The hell you mean I’m level three?†he said as he opened his menu and saw his character level at 3, but how? He wasn’t doing any quests or killing beasts in the wilds, he was just… aimlessly walking about, maybe it had something to do with his trainings and him becoming better or something, it was a lack of curiosity that drove him to care about it little, he looked back to the NPC before he sighed, “I need help learning how to become a stronger Character†Raijin said feeling somewhat destroyed for having to say it.

The NPC looked at Raijin and nodded with a grin which turned into a serious look at the flip of a dime, “draw your sword, you need to know all there is to combat before you leave here.†The NPC said as it drew a shield and mace.

Raijin looked at the mace and then noticed the shield then back to the mace which was traded in the blink of an eye to a sword, “what the…†he thought to himself as he noticed it before he shrugged it off, “okay!†he said confident again drawing his sword out as newby as the weapon was, it was his only defence, at the moment.

The NPC pointed to a dummy, “excellent! I like your’ fighting spirit!†The npc said before it turned and walked up to the dummy, “first, attacks, every attack has a delay, which in turn means, when you attack, your opponent will attack you in the midst of your return attack, thus being your next swing.†The NPC explained carefully as it swung before the dummy made a weird movement hitting the NPC’s shield, “like such, it’s the basic way of the system, so be careful to not just wildly about swinging at any monster you see, because it could be the last one you fight.†The npc said turning to face Raijin, “now it’s your turn.†It added.

Raijin looked at the NPC and sighed heavily, “So that limits the amount of damage dealt…†he said with a sigh of disappointment before he shrugged his shoulders and looked at the dummy before he walked up to the dummy slashing at the dummy only to miss before he felt the dummy tap him in the chest with the shield, before he took a step back and looked at the NPC, “I’m assuming that means my attack missed and I was hit in turn.†He said simply.

The npc looked at Raijin and only nodded simply, “yes, some attacks will connect, others won’t, it all depends on your luck of attack.†The Npc replied, as it ran in and attacked again and even its attack missed, to have the dummy attack back and miss as well, “see, even the opponents will have attacks that miss and hit as well, just be cautious and always carry health potions with you to stay alive, and as always, wear armor that’s best suited to help you stay alive from lessening the damage you take.†It said.

Raijin nodded before he looked back at the dummy before he swung at it again before he noticed it fall over to the side before a small screen popped up, “congrats, you have defeated your first enemy!†Raijin looked at it and laughed hysterically, “that’s so stupid… that’s not my first enemy.†He said aloud, before he notice the screen close and the dummy stand back up after a few moments. “well that’s odd, but anyways, now that I got that out of the way, I feel like I can go out and do some real damage now!†he thought to himself before, he thought of something, “wait… he said something about health potions, those could end up being really, really expensive at later levels…†he said to himself softly before he looked at the sword in his hands, “it’s either I make my own gear… or I craft my own potions and sell them to make money…†he said before he sighed, “great… this just made my profession hard again…†he said grumbling to himself angrily.

“I hate when I do this to myself…†he mumbled to himself as he walked kicking a rock on the path, looking up into the sky he sighed heavily and kicked the rock up before he started to play a simple game of hacky sack with it as he walked down the street before he went to kick it, but it shattered, he looked around and felt confused, “where’d the rock go?†he said aloud with a confused tone.

Turning around he still couldn’t find the rock and sighed, “But… I was having fun… I actually enjoyed sports!†he thought to himself feeling a bit down now, before he looked at one of the exits, “maybe it’s time to take an adventure out and test my skill or to take a quest…†he thought to himself before he walked around to see how many shops he could find around, it was weird, that he wanted to find the least popular profession to obtain, not just for money, but to help those in need out.
