I decided i would visit the first floor again. It had been a while since i had been down there to see how things were getting on with the low level players. Ever since i had entered the guild i had spent a lot of time on the fourth floor in the snow and cold. It was nice just to be able to relax for a change in the sun and enjoy chatting to the newer players. I took great pleasure in helping out those who still had not clue on what to do in the game and helped them get started. The few i had helped were combat ready and had gone off in partys of their own. This is what it meant to be a solo player. I might be in a guild but i wasn't needed there all the time and my duties in the guild we basically what i would do as a solo player anyway so things worked out fine.

I took a seat by the fountain just enjoying the sound of the rushing water and found my eyes drifting shut i sat and listened to the water completely at peace with the world enjoyed the moment.

Rin was sat on the edge of the water fountain in the town square of one of the towns on the first floor, peering over the side and into the sparkling waters. She had been wondering about the town for the best part of the day, having nothing to do and no one to really speak to. As she sat gazing into the water her mind was lost deep in thought, recently she had been thinking about the real world and her mother. How were things back there? And of course if she ever managed to leave this game alive would her life be any better there than it was here? Probably not. Rin couldn't stand the thought of going back to her life in the real world, where she constantly lived in the fear of her mothers ex-boyfriend finding them and abusing them once again. A single tear rolled down her cheek, one that she didnt notice.

If it werent for the arrival of another player Rin would have probably continued to stare at the fountain, instead she jumped to her feet as the player sat down. She stared at the boy in front of her, however his eyes were now closed and he seemed to be relaxing. "Hey baka!" She said "Who are you?"

I opened one eye to see who was calling whoever a baka when i saw a girl standing over me looking quite annoyed with me. I closed my eye again and put my hands behind my head. ''Well hey there sorry i didn't realise this spot was taken. Name is Tom ... Just Tom, and who might you be. i asked her. I decided to see just how this girl would react to my advances just as a little experiment of mine to try and figure out her personality. ''Your too cute to be just some random player waltzing around here'' i said smirking to myself. I might have been pushing it a little but i would at least be able to figure out what she's like.

"Hey don't close your eyes again I'm speaking to you!" Rin continued to glare at the player who had just introduced himself, "I'm Rin, Rin Tachibana. Not that my name is any of your business baka." Rin was caught off guard by Toms next words, something about her being cute. She jumped a little and blushed slightly, "What!" She almost shrieked, "I am NOT cute! Dont say that again! Eww! I would totally hit you right now if we weren't in a safe zone!" Her hands were now balled up by her sides, her yellow eyes piercing Tom. His words had caught her off guard completely, she didnt know how to respond. She had no idea he was messing with her yet she was still very annoyed.

i opened my eyes and smiled to myself. Just as i thought, she was your typical tsundere type girl which made me happy. Its nice to have a person with a refreshing personality to talk to for a change. I scooted up on the bench still sitting in a laid back kind of way and grinned. ''Take a seat if you like you will just waste your energy standing around, don't worry i don't bite'' I said grinning to her. ''I can help you out if you want I can tell your new here and I made it my own personal mission to help people like yourself out.'' I motioned to the empty said next to me indicating she was free to sit down beside me.

"Hmph, like I would want to sit next to you," She muttered after Tom had just moved over on the bench to make room for her and indicated that she could sit down. Despite her words Rin in fact did sit right next to him on the bench, without a word and sitting back, pulling her legs up onto the bench. "You might not but I do," Rin mumbled in response to his comment about him not biting, of course she was only joking. "I dont need your help..." As usual she was being harsh when she didn't really mean to be, "Although I do get a bit bored. So yes." Rin pushed her hair out of her face and stared at Tom.

This girl was certainly quite the catch, despite the fact she was completly going against everything she was saying she sat down next to me and accepted my offer for help but 'only because she was bored'. I rolled my eyes when she started staring at me and smiled at her. "You look way to cute like that" i said "ok where would you like to go I'm all yours, what ever you need ill help you out where i can" i said waiting for her reply

Rins eyes widened at Toms comment of her looking cute, she frowned slightly even though she wasn't that mad. She decided to ignore his comment as much as she could however she could not stop a blush forming on her cheeks. "Hmph. I dont really care where we go, you can decide. As long as we do something remotely fun and interesting I will be fine," Rin replied, looking down at her feet.

She looked at her feet and I grinned to myself ''Ok tell you what how about I buy you a drink and something to eat because I for one am starving, and we could get to know each a little I know nothing about you and what you can do so I don't wanna throw you into a fight out there without knowing you can handle yourself.'' I said to her. That much was true I did know nothing about this girl and putting her into a fight without knowing she can handle herself here could be a disaster. ''You can tell me what you've done here so far and we can go from there, sound good?'' I asked her.

"Sounds good," She smiled slightly then jumped up to her feet, "Come on baka, hurry up! You're so slow!" She stated even though she hadn't given him any time at all to start moving. She started walking away from the fountain until she realized she had no idea where they were going. Rin stopped walking and turned around quickly. A bit too quickly. She lost her balance and tripped over. "Ouch..."

The girl jumped up and rushed off and before she even got two steps away she tripped I rushed forward and caught her before she hit the ground. ''That was a close one'' I said. Something about the whole situation was very cliché and I was crouched there on the ground with this girl in my arms looking at me. I felt my face heat up as I looked into her eyes, was I blushing? this was a first. All that escaped my mouth was ''Erm ... are you ok?'' I asked her sheepishly. This was definitely going to be intresting.

Rin was caught by Tom before her body could hit the ground. At first she didnt do anything, the shock of the fall still fresh in her mind. However once she realized she was being held by Tom and he was looking into her eyes, her face turned comically red. "W-what do y-you think you're doing!" She demanded, very embarrassed, "G-get off of me!" She tried to get back on her feet but tripped over once again. She fell back into his arms, exactly where she had just been. "B-baka!" Rin muttered getting up from his old for the second time and standing up in front of him.

''erm .. yea lets get to the tavern and get something to eat.'' I said scratching my head ''its this way if you want to come with me.'' I said leading the way she was definitely what you would call a tsundere. She was hiding something though whatever that might have been I wanted to find out and I had this odd feeling that I just had to look after her and make sure she was ok. It was the least I could do for her right? Yea it isn't anything else im feeling I just want to help her out ... yea that must be it that's all ...

"Pfft, dont tell me what to do," Rin mumbled whilst catching up to Tom, walking just a little bit behind him so that he could lead. And partly so that he couldnt see her face which was still slightly red. "Good because I am pretty hungry..." She said trying to move on from what happened, however she couldnt get the image of her being in his arms out of her mind. Blushing more and telling herself of silently her face reddened. She hadnt blushed so much in a while.

I stopped In front of the tavern and opened the door for the girl and she brushed past me, I stepped inside myself, I pointed to a free table in the corner of the room and took a seat. ''I never caught your name, mines Tomoya Kirigawa but most people here call me Tom you can call me what ever you like.'' I said to her wondering what she was doing here in the first place I guess this is a good a time as any to find out I thought to myself as the waiter npc approached us

Rin sat down at the table opposite the player who had brought her here, she then picked up one of the menus at the table and began scanning it. "Tom... Hmm... My name is Rin Tachibana. Dont call me anything but Rin or I will hurt you." Of course this was just an empty threat, she wouldnt really hurt someone if they didnt call her wanted... At least thats what she thought. Rin gave her order to the NPC waiter that had approached them then waited for Tom do order his own things.

I ordered a glass of mead and a steak Medium cooked, not that it mattered in this game how well something was cooked as far as i was aware it wasn't possible to get food poisoning but i wasn't going to risk the stat drop just because it was a game. That stuff could get you killed and death here means its over out there too. ''So what's your story Rin i'm sure you have been around a little bit by now so what adventures have you been on and how have they treated you.'' i asked her as our drinks arrived.

Rin was kind of caught off guard with his question, not many really cared about her story so it was a shock to have someone ask her about it. She shuffled a bit, unsure of how to approach this without being rude or too open. Rin looked down into her mug of white hot chocolate which she had just been served. "Sorry..." She didnt know what was happening but for some reason she couldnt bring herself to speak about her life. She wasn't used to it. Rin knew she must seem pretty stupid, not being able to speak about certain topics. Her hands shook slightly however they were hidden from view, on her lap under the table. "Sorry," She repeated again, "I dont know."

I sat back observing the girl she seemed to be hiding something but for now i decided not the press the matter so i chose a different approach in my evaluation of her. ''I see ... well im not going to force you to do something you don't want to do or say so how about this, why don't you tell me how experienced you are with that dagger of yours.'' i said pointing to the weapon sheath sitting beside her. ''Have you used it yet?'' i asked her. Surely she had to have had some experience with it by now and if not well i would have to teach her wouldn't I

"Thanks... for understanding..." She said, most people would have pushed her to say more but luckily Tom didnt much to her delight. "Oh this," Rin poked her dagger which was sat beside her, "Well.. I have used it before. I know how to use it obviously... Just not that well." Rin felt her face heating up once again, she was not used to being in the spotlight especially when it came to her abilities.
