Rebekah 0 Posted January 18, 2015 Author #21 Share Posted January 18, 2015 Rebekah got up right away, and she knew that she had to take out one of the bats right away, before it became too much of a nuisance facing the two of them at once. She looked and realize that the first one that she had been hacking away with her attacks was one attack away from being dead, and she focused all her energy into taking that first bat out. She charged right at it, and this time was able to sidestep the second bat trying to block her path and attacked it at the center of its body. The bat exploded into many pixels around her, and she knew that she had one more bat left to deal with. Rebekah 0 Posted January 18, 2015 Author #22 Share Posted January 18, 2015 The Bat The second bat stood in shock, as it watched its friend just die right in front of its eyes. It froze for what it had felt like forever, but it was only for a few seconds, before it charged to attack the girl who had already gotten back into a defensive position. She was just too far out of her reach, and thus it was unable to find a spot to attack her. There was nothing much that it could do, other than wait for the next opportunity that it could find. Rebekah 0 Posted January 18, 2015 Author #23 Share Posted January 18, 2015 Rebekah rolled up to a defensive position, knowing fully aware of the situation at hand. She was in a position where she could not attack without exposing herself to more damage, but that would be something that she could deal with at another time. She looked up at the situation from above, and realized that she needed to attack sometime, but was afraid that it may be angry that she had just killed its friend. Thus, she was going to wait out the situation just a tiny bit more before deciding what to do next. Rebekah 0 Posted January 19, 2015 Author #24 Share Posted January 19, 2015 The Bat It was starting to get frustrated over the lack of progress in attacking the girl. It would take a while longer before she would break, as it had hoped. However, the problem was that it had felt like that she had continued to become stronger and stronger with each passing attack, and it knew that this was the time it had to make a move, unfortunately the wing attack that it had began to employ since the beginning of the fight had stopped working completely. Rebekah 0 Posted January 19, 2015 Author #25 Share Posted January 19, 2015 Rebekah had managed to dodge the last attack but she fell a bit awkwardly after slipping on the rocky ground below her. It had stung a bit, but it was not something that was going to keep her out of battle. She tried to attack but she was too slow, as her leg was still hurting a bit. The pain will pass by shortly, she knew, as she just needed to shake it off, and tried to her best ability, look for an opportunity to dodge and counterattack. Rebekah 0 Posted January 20, 2015 Author #26 Share Posted January 20, 2015 The Bat The bat continued to chase the girl to the best of its abilities, but with the low ceiling on this part of the cave, it had to slow down. However, it had lost patience and decided to ram itself as hard as it could at the girl. Unfortunately, it had forgotten about the stalagmites over the course of the fight, and thus ran into one instead. That had hurt, and it was not having the best time trying to fighting her. Rebekah 0 Posted January 20, 2015 Author #27 Share Posted January 20, 2015 Rebekah was waiting for the exact time to strike, and just as she saw the bat fall down, she knew that this was her best opportunity that she will ever get against this giant bat. She looked and saw that it's body was not protected and knew that she could land an easy strike at it's weakest point, thus dealing critical damage. She charged at the bat, and lunged at the falling animal leading with her rapier. Rebekah 0 Posted January 21, 2015 Author #28 Share Posted January 21, 2015 The Bats The bat was still falling towards the ground which had felt forever. However, it was not planning on giving up that easily, as it tried to flap its wings, hoping for something to work, but nothing was working. All that happened was it was able to slow down the rate at which it was falling due to the gravitational force, as well as creating a small gust of wind around it, but the wind did not do any damage. Just when it felt like all hope was lost, as it did not want to slam into the ground, it managed to find the strength to get back upright. Rebekah 0 Posted January 21, 2015 Author #29 Share Posted January 21, 2015 Rebekah tried to attack, but the strong gusting wind made it nearly impossible to get close enough to the bat to even have a chance of attacking. She was expending a lot energy just to even make the short distance between her and the bat, but she could barely even take a step forward. After a few more seconds, she decided to give up, and hide behind a rock, where there would not be as windy as the rock would be blocking the majority of the wind, and she knew to wait for the second that the wind would die down before leaving this relative hiding spot. Rebekah 0 Posted January 22, 2015 Author #30 Share Posted January 22, 2015 The Bats It was completely tired after expending that amount of energy just to get back upright, thus at a result she did not see the girl anywhere, but it knew that she must have been nearby. It was looking to find her, but when it found her behind a rock, the bat dived right at the girl, however she was able to quickly dodge the dive, and the bat had to spend a lot of energy to avoid slamming into the ground. It needed to exert the right amount of energy in this cave, something that it has never learned because visitors are far from frequent, and the majority of them do not attack. Rebekah 0 Posted January 22, 2015 Author #31 Share Posted January 22, 2015 Rebekah saw the bat trying to dive at her with all its speed, so she naturally ran out of the way, however, the cave was relatively dark, even with her eyes being adjusted after a while, and she could not see the rock that was in front of her, so she tripped over the rock in front of her. As she fell down, she made sure that she was not going to hit anything else. She looked up and saw the NPC boy again, who she had already forgotten, just 1 more bat, and then she could return the boy home. Rebekah 0 Posted January 22, 2015 Author #32 Share Posted January 22, 2015 The Bats The bat tried to chase after the girl as she ran away, and it did successfully, but it had fly around the many rocks in the cave to find her, thus it had to lose its speed or else it was going to hit the rocks instead of the player. But that loss of speed had dire consequences as the bats were now unable to hit the girl with full force, thus it was not going to land any damage with the slow speed it was going now. Regardless, it tried its best to charge right at the girl, but she was easily able to block the attack with her rapier, as it was not going to fool anyone at that slow speed. Rebekah 0 Posted January 23, 2015 Author #33 Share Posted January 23, 2015 As the bat slowed down a bit, Rebekah was able to see where the bat was headed, thus was able to attack with her rapier. The tip of her sword had pierced the left wing of the bat, and as she pulled out she tried to thrust again, but the bat was somehow able to get avoid that. She knew that these bats were tough, but did not realize how strong they were until now, she was starting to feel the effects of the battle, as she had low endurance, and figured that the bat should be starting to feel tired, but less than she was feeling now. Rebekah 0 Posted January 24, 2015 Author #34 Share Posted January 24, 2015 The Bat As the girl withdrew the rapier from it, after attacking it in the wing, there was a hole in its left wing, which made it nearly impossible to stay balance. It tried to attack the girl, but it was spending a lot of energy trying to fly in a straight line with the punctured wing, but it was extremely hard to remain balance. It tried to adjust the power it was putting into one wing to keep it balance, but it was still having some difficulties. Rebekah 0 Posted January 28, 2015 Author #35 Share Posted January 28, 2015 Her light rapier was starting to feel heavy, she thought for a second, she had been moving nonstop prior to this battle, so she knew that this was going to be a huge problem in the future, especially if she would not be able to end it quickly. However, she decide to save a bit of her energy now, knowing that the bat was too far away for her to land a direct hit, as she knew that she would get her opportunity when a bit later, when it needed to come closer to attack. Rebekah 0 Posted January 28, 2015 Author #36 Share Posted January 28, 2015 The Bat As the girl stood still, it was the perfect opportunity for it to have its counter-attack, however it was still having trouble readjusting to using one wing to fly. When it saw the girl was standing still, it tried to dive right at her, with all of its speed. Unfortunately, the hole in the left wing made it impossible to fly straight, as it began to veer off to its left, diving straight into a rock. Luckily for the bat, it managed to avoid the rock but landed on the ground, thus making it an easy pray for the girl who was now standing over it. Rebekah 0 Posted January 29, 2015 Author #37 Share Posted January 29, 2015 The bat had landed perfectly in front of her, and even though she was still tired, this was the golden opportunity that she had been waiting for since the start of this battle. A free direct attack at the bat without it moving around everywhere, and with her rapier, she quickly rushed her attack, hoping to land an attack as soon as possible, not worrying about accuracy before it could fly away again. Even though it could not fly far, it still could dodge her attack, and she knew that she had to be quick and efficient about it. Rebekah 0 Posted January 29, 2015 Author #38 Share Posted January 29, 2015 The Bat It laid there on the ground, and it was struggling to get back on its feet just when the girl had attacked it with her rapier, however, she had to be within a close combat range to attack, and this was what it needed. Since it had no longer any way to fly, or move effectively, it let the girl come to her before scratching her at her hands. The girl had no armour protecting her hands, and as a result, the claw was easily able to deal damage against her. It hoped that maybe next time it would think twice before attacking again. Rebekah 0 Posted January 29, 2015 Author #39 Share Posted January 29, 2015 Her hands started to stung right away, and she was now getting annoyed at the giant bat, so she quickly took out her rapier to strike it as soon as possible. The burning sensation in her hand started to die down, at the exact moment she got the bat off of her arm. The bat instantly exploded into pixels, the battle was over, and she had finally done it. She took what it seemed like to be a minute or two to recover from this long exhausting battle before dealing with the NPC boy which she was going to save at the very beginning. Rebekah 0 Posted January 30, 2015 Author #40 Share Posted January 30, 2015 After a quick rest, Rebekah now turned her complete attention to the NPC boy, making sure he was okay after being in the cave for an extended period of time. She took a quick inspection of him, and came to the conclusion that he is fine, and can walk out of here by himself. However, she asked to double check if it knew the way out, which it did not. Luckily her spool of thread that she tied to the entrance of the cave was still around, and she started to lead the boy out of the cave, winding up the spool of thread. She was lucky that the bats did not try to sever the line during the battle, as that would have been disastrous for her. The last thing she wanted was to stay down in the cave forever, always looking for a way out. She did not know if it was an anti-teleport area, but she did not have a teleportation crystal regardless.
